The left is all about class warfare, but you’d be mistaken if you think the class they want to make war on is the upper class. Quite the contrary: the left is the upper class now, and their longtime critique of “neoliberalism” as a mechanism to transfer wealth from the poor to the rich is ironically accurate, as that is exactly what the left intends to do.
Two pieces of evidence to consider. First, note this piece from the Brookings Institution (the lead author Mark Muro is an acquaintance from my Washington days), about how the small minority of counties Joe Biden won represent 70 percent of the nation’s economic output, while the majority of counties Trump won only account for 30 percent of our economic output.

High family income, not SAT scores, is your real ticket to Harvard, Yale, and Princeton.
Well, that or being black (or ‘Black’) … preferably both, as with the Obamas. Having famous parents helps a lot, too, although famous parents are probably going to be rich anyway.
The picture is of Sterling Memorial Library at Yale, of which I have fond memories.

The Ayatollahs in Iran have established a vast network of mosques and other organizations across Europe to export and organize their nefarious activities. We will begin with their network in the most Northern European country, Norway, and in the next articles further examine the situation in other European countries.
Norway’s Police Security Service (PST) reportedly has asked for the imam of the Imam Ali Shia mosque in Oslo to be expelled. The unnamed imam’s expulsion is pending a decision by Norway’s judiciary, but the reason to expel him has been reported as “based on national security interests.”
Who is this Iranian imam in Oslo and why is he considered a national security risk for Norway?

The Washington Post claims that the “Black community” is angry over claims of vote fraud by President Trump and his legal team. It’s true that some of the claims of fraud center on precincts that are populated almost entirely by Blacks. However, I doubt that many Blacks care about the Trump campaign’s allegations of fraud and I suspect that even fewer are outraged by them.
The Post cites five Blacks who have expressed displeasure. Four of them are activists. The other is a professor of African-American studies. It’s part of their job to be angry, just as it’s part of the job of Washington Post reporters to dig up people who are outraged by supposed racial slights by Donald Trump.
But the reporters provide no evidence that the grievances of the activists and the professor have any resonance in the Black community. It simply expects readers of the Post to assume they do.

I am writing this column from suburban Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the State Capitol building a mere couple miles away across the Susquehanna River. And in that Capitol Friday there was scheduled by the Republican-controlled State Government Committee of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives a hearing as part of the committee’s investigation into the election.
The scheduled witnesses were representatives of Dominion. And lo and behold on Thursday night, the literal night before the hearing, State Representative Seth Grove, the Committee chairman, was notified that, in his words, Dominion had “lawyered up” and backed out of the hearing.
Hmmm. As this is written, this news is nowhere to be found in The Washington Post. It is nowhere to be found in The New York Times. Maybe it will at some point. Maybe.
Much less have either paper assigned a Woodward and Bernstein-style investigation of just what is going on with election fraud in this country and the role of voting system companies in this business.
Hmm. Isn’t this curious.

Our elite betters wonder why we don’t trust their “scientific” authority, but let’s roll back the tape to this May 15 story from NBC News, which they called a “fact check:”
Fact check: Coronavirus vaccine could come this year, Trump says. Experts say he needs a ‘miracle’ to be right.
Funny how often Trump turns out to be right about something the “experts” dismissed as outlandish and irresponsible. Start with moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem. Yeah, the violent unrest in the Middle East in the aftermath of that provocative move still hasn’t abated. What’s that? Oh, never mind.

On Friday’s PBS NewsHour, liberal pundit Mark Shields raged at Republican senators for universally rejecting a beating on NBC’s Meet the Press. Shields compared this to “Dante’s great quote that the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in a time of moral crisis, remain neutral.”
Shields described the NBC show as an “important forum,” and avoided the obvious notion that under Chuck Todd, Republican Senators get yelled at for bringing “Fox News conspiracy propaganda” into their answers. Any Republican who showed up was going to be browbeaten into condemning the president’s failure to concede defeat.

On Friday, Washington Post media reporter Paul Farhi explored the increasing snark in White House “pool reports,” which are supposed to be dry, fairly objective descriptions of presidential movements, but with today’s Trump-hating press corps, no one could possibly be restrained. The headline in the paper was “Waters are getting a bit nippy in White House pool.”
Farhi didn’t quite note that part of the problem is bomb-throwing leftist websites are being granted this supposedly dry task. Expecting objective reporting out of HuffPost is like expecting filet mignon at 7-Eleven.

Think about the times you’ve been told to “trust the science.” Two occasions should come to mind immediately: when discussing climate change and when talking about the Wuhan coronavirus.
There’s a lot of science being done on the subject of climate change. There’s a lot of science being done on the subject of the coronavirus. Let’s assume, for the sake of discussion, that the vast bulk of this is “good” science — that it’s being conducted by competent people acting in accordance with the techniques and standards of science. That’s almost certainly a safe assumption.
You still shouldn’t “trust the science.”
That’s because when we’re talking about public policy — and that’s what we’re always talking about when people tell you to “trust the science” — we’re talking about a lot more than just science.
Take climate change policy. Science can make predictions about temperatures and sea levels 80 years from now (though how well it does that is open to debate), but science doesn’t make predictions about economics 80 years from now, or about national boundaries, or populations, or the pace of technological change, or human rights, or any of the myriad other things that have to be considered when creating public policy.
So when the politician tells you to “trust the science” about climate change, he’s also telling you to trust all the other “experts” who think they can predict the future 80 years from now, all the economists and sociologists and population experts and futurists, and to believe that they all know better than you how you should live your life.

In recent weeks, Fox News has been losing audience, as some viewers have become disenchanted with the network’s increasingly Trump-skeptical tone. Morning Joe has been a beneficiary of this trend, beating rival Fox & Friends in the ratings for the first time in almost 20 years.
Joe Scarborough et al. thus have an interest in encouraging Fox News to continue down the path that has benefitted Morning Joe. And thus it was that on today’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough and Willie Geist lavishly praised FNC personalities who have criticized the efforts of the Trump team to contest the election results. Scarborough and Geist singled out FNC’s Kristin Fisher, playing a long excerpt of her takedown of yesterday’s press conference featuring Rudy Giuliani.
It’s all because Fox has decided to join the Corporate Media, and is thus losing viewers.

I think that voter fraud had a lot to do with the outcome of the electoral results in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere. It’s a staple of Democratic Party politics. Democrats have long protected illegal voters like they are a core constituency of the party, as I believe they are. The vast expansion of mail-in voting predicated on the COVID-19 epidemic considerably widened the playing field, to say the least. So the Trump campaign’s allegations of fraud are certainly plausible. Have they got the goods?
The Trump campaign legal team held a 90-minute press conference advertising the fraud claims supposedly at the heart of lawsuits now on file. I watched the press conference live yesterday. Full video is posted here on YouTube and here on C-SPAN.
We seemed to be in the territory of “a conspiracy so immense.” Where are the lawsuits in which the affidavits cited by Rudy Giuliani are actually filed? Where in the lawsuits on file is the evidence that the voting machines were manipulated as attorney Sidney Powell described? I’m not clear on that.

Nearly three months ago, I wrote a post about Joseph “JoJo” Rosenbaum, the convicted child molester whose attack on Kyle Rittenhouse precipitated the shootings during the Kenosha riot that left Rosenbaum and another rioter dead, wounded a third rioter, and has Rittenhouse facing murder charges as a result. At that point — just three days after the incident — there was not much background information available. However, in October, while my mind was focused on the presidential campaign, the Washington Post published a very detailed report on who JoJo Rosenbaum was, a report that also included important background on the other dead rioter, Anthony Huber, and details of events preceding the shooting.

Watching the election shenanigans roll on, it seems that the ruling class may have created an expensive problem while trying to solve the Trump problem. The wholesale election fraud has created a very expensive problem for them. They cannot sit back and let Trump’s lawyers find examples of fraud or use those examples to overturn one of the disputed states, as that creates a big problem for them. Joe Biden becomes the Pretender Biden for most of the country.
On the other hand, the only way to prevent any of this is to double down on the shenanigans in all of these states. That means threatening judges, lawyers and election officials. It means more midnight capers to alter the rules and results. In other words, the way to prevent Trump from establishing his claims is to prove another set of claims. They will convince a large number of people that the whole system is rigged and controlled by thugs and crooks.

With the election of Joe Biden, the environmental movement has now established suzerainty over global economics. Gone not only is the troublesome Donald Trump but also the Canadian skeptic Steven Harper. Outside of those dismissed as far right, there is virtually no serious debate about how to address climate change in the U.S. or Western Europe outside the parameters suggested by mainstream green groups.
In reality, though, few electorates anywhere are ready for extreme policies such as the Green New Deal, which, as its widely acknowledged architect, Saikat Chakrabarti, has acknowledged, is really a redder, more openly anti-capitalist version of the Great Depression-era original.

I wish my high school biology teacher had asked the class how an embryo could possibly differentiate—and then paused to let us really think about it. The whole subject is in the answer to that question. A chemical gradient in the embryonic fluid is enough of a signal to slightly alter the gene expression program of some cells, not others; now the embryo knows “up” from “down”; cells at one end begin producing different proteins than cells at the other, and these, in turn, release more refined chemical signals; …; soon, you have brain cells and foot cells.
An amazing voyage. Read the whole thing.

Cancel culture is a black hole that is swallowing corporate America. The zeitgeist of social awareness and virtue signaling has spread far beyond the realm of adolescent Instagram posts to the point where corporate titans now have joined in the effort to push woke capitalism.
Don’t be fooled. Principles are hardly the reason companies are altering their marketing faces to appeal to progressive America.
Current social justice platforms are accelerating the growth of cancel culture and empowering consumers to hold businesses accountable for their social stances. It is not about supporting social justice—companies either are trying to get ahead or simply survive the judgment of cancel culture.
To be fair, some nonprofits make decisions based on their devotion to supporting just causes. But for larger nationwide corporations, appealing to social justice movements has little to do with idealism.

Their initial refusal to vote placed the Board in a 2-2 deadlock, putting in jeopardy the state’s ability to certify Joe Biden’s win. Hours later, the two flip-flopped and agreed to certify. Now, they’re taking it back.
“I rescind my prior vote to certify Wayne County elections,” wrote Monica Palmer in a sworn affidavit, who along with fellow GOP board member William C. Hartmann refused to certify the election on Tuesday. The two fell under intense pressure from the left – with Palmer claiming that her family was threatened (via Just The News). The two were also doxxed over social media.
“The comments made accusations of racism and threatened me and members of my family,” continues Palmer’s affidavit, addimg: “The Wayne County election had serious process flaws which deserve investigation. I continue to ask for information to assure Wayne County voters that these elections were conducted fairly and accurately. Despite repeated requests I have not received the requisite information and believe an additional 10 days of canvas by the State Board of canvassers will help provide the information necessary.”
