“They were illegal in NYC for a long time and never really became a thing after the ban was lifted ?,” the freshman Democratic lawmaker tweeted Tuesday night. “Other home things many NYers don’t have in their apartments: washer/dryer, dishwasher, central air.”
Yeah, she’s perfectly qualified to tell the rest of the country how to live.

One week after troubled ex-Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh resigned after a criminal probe over her children’s book series, the entire Baltimore City computer network system was shut down after a ransomware attack, The Baltimore Sun reports. Across the city, multiple intergovernmental agencies sent employees home Tuesday after email servers and communications platforms went dark. And according to a press meeting on Wednesday morning, the city’s communication system remains down.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday that President Donald Trump has the authority to send asylum seekers to Mexico as they wait for the United States to adjudicate their claims, handing the president a big win on immigration policy.
If you can win in the Ninth Circuit, you can win anywhere.

A white woman anchor in Baltimore has been fired for noticing that Baltimore’s last three spectacularly failed mayors have been black women and then engaging in the firing offense of lèse-majesté by asking an impudent question of somebody who not only has more intersectional PoCemon Points, but is also a Professor of Angry Blackness in the Department of Communications.

Advocates for the ban claim that it’s prejudicial toward lower income people who may not have access to debit cards or credit cards according to the AP. The concept has also been introduced in New York City. The city’s Board of Supervisors will take up the issue Tuesday, which is likely to pass, as all 11 members of the Board are listed as sponsors or co-sponsors. Officials have been working in vain to make San Francisco more equitable in the face of an unprecedented wealth gap (and despite record amounts of human feces on the streets).
Maybe they don’t want ‘lower income people’ in their stores? Maybe they don’t wast ‘record amounts of feces on the streets’ from migrating into their stores?
Supervisor Vallie Brown said: “I just felt it wasn’t fair that if someone wanted to buy a sandwich in a store, and they had cash, that they would be turned away. We also have our homeless population. They’re not banked.”
Yeah, God forbid that the homeless shouldn’t have access to your stores….
Krugman, 66, evidently does not remember President Barack Obama’s eight years in office, and all the Presidential Medals of Freedom he fastened around the necks of aging celebs. Or perhaps Krugman does remember, and he just earnestly believes the following individuals were truly deserving of the honor for “showing courage and making sacrifices on behalf of the nation and the world,” rather than doing frivolous activities for money.

After the House voted to find Holder in contempt of Congress, Deputy Attorney General James Cole, Holder’s No. 2, issued a letter to the House stating: “The department will not bring the congressional contempt citation before a grand jury or take any other action to prosecute the Attorney General.”
In other words, nada.

So a Hong Kong tycoon is doing the next best thing. He’s going after the salesman who persuaded him to entrust a chunk of his fortune to the supercomputer whose trades cost him more than $20 million.

This is classic Trump — whenever things quiet down and it appears that Democrats might be getting some traction with their own agenda, he takes a stick and starts beating on the side of their house. They then have to drop what they were doing and respond, while he ignores the barking and continues doing his own thing. This is especially effective in sucking all of the air out of the room with respect to the DemLegHump Media.

A recently released study by the University of California, Riverside demonstrates how California’s perhaps well-meaning minimum wage policies produce underwhelming results at best—but more typically create corrosive side effects for business owners and workers alike.

Soros cleverly — and smartly — has concluded that one of the most effective vehicles through which to accomplish this ambitious goal, is to fund left-leaning candidates for the one elected office that perhaps more than any other is able to change the fundamental values by which communities function — the local district attorney or “D.A.” While Soros’ crusade to implement this plan has not met with success in every instance, his victories in just the past four years have been significant.

In a sense almost every Democrat running for president can be said to occupy a lane. For example, Pete Buttigieg seems to occupy the gay lane; Amy Klobuchar the lane for non-radical females. Cory Booker can be viewed as the great black male hope; Kamala Harris as his female counterpart. Beto O’Rourke inhabits the white hipster lane, and so forth.
I don’t think that the Democrats have a ‘successful manager’ lane. Gonna be hard to beat Trump at that one.

Left-wing thugs engage in violence and threats of violence with utter impunity. They shut down speakers at colleges; block highways, bridges, and airport terminals; take over college buildings and offices; occupy state capitols; and terrorize individuals at their homes.
In order to understand why more violence might be coming, it is essential to understand that left-wing mobs are almost never stopped, arrested, or punished. Colleges do nothing to stop them, and civil authorities do nothing to stop them on campuses or anywhere else. Police are reduced to spectators as they watch left-wing gangs loot stores, smash business and car windows, and even take over state capitols (as in Madison, Wisc.).
It’s beginning to dawn on many Americans that some mayors, police chiefs, and college presidents have no interest in stopping this violence. Left-wing officials sympathize with the lawbreakers; and the police, who rarely sympathize with thugs of any ideology, are ordered to do nothing by emasculated police chiefs. Consequently, given the abdication by all these authorities of their role to protect the public, some members of the public will inevitably decide that they will protect themselves and others.
That’s not what they call them, but it’s clear that’s what they mean. It’s a shot at McDonald’s Happy Meals, of course, which accommodate the needs of small children who want to halfheartedly interact with a plastic toy for an hour before it’s sent off for eternal interment in a landfill. Instead of insisting that everyone act happy, millennials are stressed by debt and famine and plague and insufficient Instagram follower counts. We should be grateful a major corporation has recognized that we often feel miserable, indifferent and hostile.

Toxic masculinity—and the persistent idea that feelings are a “female thing”—has left a generation of straight men stranded on emotionally-stunted island, unable to forge intimate relationships with other men. It’s women who are paying the price.

The Guardian thinks that UBI is insufficiently statist, and that’s a problem for the Crust.
You see, just giving people money lets them choose, and they will probably choose the wrong thing. We need to have their choices curated by Cloud People, and so it’s better to constrain their choices to what the State allows them to have.
Just as I finished my breakfast here at Burger King and was checking around the ‘net, Professor Glenn Reynolds called attention to the latest outrage from the Thought Police at Google: The Claremont Institute has been banned for “wrongthink,” as Ryan Williams explains:
What Google is really doing (like Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms) is policing the terms of American political debate to advance acceptable establishment ideology. In First Amendment parlance, Google is in the viewpoint discrimination business, and its target is heresies like ours against the prevailing orthodoxies of our time.
Indeed. Google, like the mainstream media establishment, has decided that President Trump’s election proves that freedom of speech is dangerous, and so anything that might conceivably prevent the election of a Democrat in 2020 must be suppressed as some form of “hate speech.” Remember that Google “blacklisted” The American Spectator last month, and of course I got banned from Twitter in 2016, so this increasingly totalitarian regime of online Thought Police affects me directly. As I have explained (“How Disagreement Became ‘Hate’,” March 18), the tactic of labeling conservatives as proponents of “hate” is being used by the Left in an effort to shift the Overton Window leftward.

The company Flint, Michigan, hired to replace lead water pipes had no experience with the work, according to a councilwoman and a contractor, despite that the city has received more than $600 million in state and federal aid for its water crisis.
And the city ignored a model showing where lead pipes are and paid to dig up every yard, the vast majority of which had copper pipes, according to meeting minutes.
The city also prohibited contractors from using an efficient method of digging holes known as hydrovac excavation, Flint Councilwoman Eva Worthing told The Daily Caller News Foundation. That leveled the playing field for a contractor, WT Stevens, with no experience or the appropriate equipment — and let it bill far more to taxpayers, she says. All of these factors, she adds, needlessly led to more waiting for anyone who actually has lead pipes.
