Pro-Palestinian activists, some reportedly shouting antisemitic invective, forced Jewish groups out of a procession celebrating Italy’s Liberation Day from Nazism and fascism in Milan over the weekend.

About 100 protesters on Saturday blocked a group commemorating the Jewish Brigade, a unit of 5,000 Jews from British Mandate Palestine who volunteered to fight against the Germans in Italy during World War II.

The protests led to a two-hour stalemate before police escorted the Jewish Brigade out of the march, according to the Italian newspaper la Repubblica. The event marked the 81st anniversary of the end of Italy’s Nazi occupation and fascist collaborationist regime led by Benito Mussolini.

A pair of incidents took place outside of Jewish sites in the Toronto area over the weekend, adding to a series of attacks that have left the city’s Jewish community unnerved.

During Shabbat services on Saturday, a man tried to force his way into the Sephardic Kehilah Centre, in the suburb of Vaughan. After the man was turned away by security, he reportedly encountered a father and son on their way to the synagogue and punched the father in the face. The father was left with no serious injuries.

The following day, photos circulated after a rock was hurled and broke the window of Aleph Bet Judaica, a shop on the heavily Jewish Bathurst Street corridor. Police did not confirm which business was hit, but confirmed that a rock was thrown at a business near Bathurst Street and Regina Avenue, and that the Hate Crime Unit “was consulted and is aware.”

No suspects have been identified in either incident.

A series of violent incidents involving young people has raised concerns across Belgium, with experts warning that youth crime is becoming more frequent and, in some cases, more severe.

Pallets of cash and the Middle East should ring familiar, stretching from the Bush-Cheney years to even the Obama years (and Iran sanctions relief as part of the original nuclear deal). In this case, like with the Obama/Iran deal saga before, this is actually Iraq’s own oil revenue money.

The threats to Congregation Beth Israel, a Reform synagogue, and the Shlenker School, a preschool and elementary school, were communicated to the Houston Police Department, which informed the Jewish institutions.

The Shlenker School said on its website that it had closed “out of an abundance of caution,” and the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston said it did not believe there was a risk to the broader Jewish community.

“This situation is fluid, ongoing, and under investigation,” the federation said in a statement. “After significant discussions with both the FBI and HPD, we have been advised that it is safe for other local Jewish institutions to remain open. Local law enforcement agencies are increasing patrols around Houston-area Jewish institutions.”

The federation did not immediately describe the nature of the threats. The Houston Police Department did not respond to a request for comment.

The incident comes as security experts have warned of continued elevation of threats to global Jewish communities amid the Iran war, and it follows an attack on a Detroit-area synagogue last month by a man who had expressed sympathy for Hezbollah. It also reprises an extended string of hoax bomb threats to Jewish institutions across the United States that caused a large number of closures in 2023 and 2024, both before and after the start of the war in Gaza.

The listings, posted on Facebook, Gumtree and Telegram, a social media and messaging channel, feature phrases such as “only for Muslims”, “for 2 Muslim boys or 2 Muslim girls” and “Muslims preferred”.

Others include direct appeals to Punjabi and Gujarati speakers or Kerala and Haryana people, while there are also job vacancies on the platforms that are advertised for men only.

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with an arson attack on a London synagogue on Sunday, the third within days on Jewish targets in the city.

No one was injured at Kenton United Synagogue after police said a “bottle with some sort of accelerant” was thrown through a window. A fire was extinguished before it could do significant damage.

Police offered few details about the men arrested beyond their ages, 17 and 19. But they said they saw emerging evidence that the attack and others in recent days may have been conducted in exchange for payments from Iran, which has said it would strike targets abroad in response to the U.S.-Israeli war against it.

“We’ve seen a pattern,” Matt Jukes, the police force’s deputy commissioner, said on the BBC on Monday. He said there had been 15 arrests related to incidents targeting the Jewish community in recent weeks and most appeared to be of “people taking cash as it looks like quick and easy money” to stage an attack.

Murder, rape, and knife crime all increased in Germany in 2025, official figures show, despite an overall drop in crime largely driven by changes to drug laws.

Police recorded around 5.5 million crimes last year, a fall of 5.6% compared to 2024. Officials say the decline is mainly due to the partial legalisation of cannabis in April 2024, which reduced the number of drug-related offences. They caution that this makes direct comparisons with previous years less reliable.

Behind the overall drop, however, more serious offences moved in the opposite direction. Cases of murder and manslaughter rose by 6.5%, while rape and other serious sexual offences increased by 8.5%. Reports of child sexual abuse also continued to climb.

Knife crime remains a major concern. Police recorded around 29,000 knife-related offences in 2025—equivalent to roughly 80 incidents a day. In about half of these cases, knives were used in acts of violence, while the rest involved threats or intimidation. Many incidents took place in public spaces, including streets and transport hubs.

The figures also highlight differences in suspect profiles. Non-German nationals are significantly overrepresented among suspects, particularly in violent crime. Adjusted for their share of the population, foreign nationals were recorded as suspects at a rate around 2.6 times higher than German citizens, rising to roughly four times higher in violent offences. According to Welt, this gap cannot be explained by differences in age or gender and remains consistent across demographic groups.

The Houthis in Yemen have generated a lot of news headlines since the Gaza war began, lobbing missiles into Israel and causing serious problems for international maritime traffic by attacking ships transiting the Bab-el-Mandeb off southern Yemen.

The Houthis (whose official name is now Ansar Allah) are a Shi’ite movement backed by Iran. They came into prominence during the Yemeni Revolution in 2011, which was an adjunct of the “Arab Spring” that had already swept Tunisia and Egypt. Their principal Sunni rivals within the radical Islamic ferment in Yemen were Al Qaeda and the Islamic State.

With assistance from Iran, the Houthis took over about a third of Yemeni territory, including the capital, Sana’a. Their stronghold is in southern Yemen, adjacent to the Red Sea, which is why they have been able to do so much damage to ships travelling to or from the Suez Canal.

The Houthis have been receiving both weaponry and financial help from Iran. Now that the mullahs are on the ropes, I would expect that the mujahideen of Ansar Allah are facing lean times. I wondered how things were going for them, so I looked up some recent articles from the region.

Sure enough, the events of the past month have created a deficit of resources for the Houthi, which has contributed to internal strife among factions within the group.

The USS Spruance opened fire on the Touska on Sunday after the vessel refused to stop in the Gulf of Oman.
US marines then took “full custody” of the ship, according to Donald Trump, who triumphantly posted on Truth Social that his troops had “blown a hole” in the tanker.

Iran hit back on Sunday by accusing the US of violating the ceasefire agreement, which has been in place since April 8 and is due to expire on Wednesday.

Oh, the ‘ceasefire agreement’ that they already broke by attacking ships transiting the Straiht of Hormuz? That ‘ceasefire agreement’?

“We warn that the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will soon respond and retaliate against this armed piracy and the US military,” a spokesman for the military’s central command told state media.

British police said Sunday they are investigating whether a string of arson attacks on Jewish sites in London are the work of Iranian proxies.

The Metropolitan Police force says counterterror officers are probing the attacks on synagogues and other sites linked to the Jewish community, as well as an attack on a Persian-language media company.

No one has been injured in the blazes, the latest of which caused minor damage to a north London synagogue on Saturday night.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans said the attacks had been claimed online by a group calling itself Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia.

Nearly 600 migrants crossed the English Channel on Saturday, April 18th as criminal smuggling networks expanded their operations beyond France and began launching additional boats from Belgian beaches.

According to figures cited by Border Force sources, at least 250 people are understood to have departed from Belgian coastal areas during the day, while further crossings from northern France meant around 585 reached UK waters. . The arrivals bring the total number of small boat migrants recorded this year to more than 6,000.

Officials said the shift to Belgium represents a significant tactical change by people-smuggling gangs, which are increasingly using multiple launch sites to reduce law enforcement pressure on the French coast. One maritime security source described the development as the biggest tactical shift from the criminal smuggling gangs in the last few years.

Until recently, Belgium was rarely used for such crossings, with only a handful of attempted launches annually. However, authorities estimate that around 25 dinghies have now set off from Belgian beaches so far this year.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps fired on at least one ship in the waters near Oman after Tehran again closed the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Organization.

Two IRGC gunboats approached a tanker about 20 nautical miles northeast of the Gulf country around 1 p.m. local time — and opened fire unprovoked, the tanker’s master reported.

A second vessel was attacked by an “unknown projectile” some two hours later in the same area, the UKMTO said.

A judge has thrown out a ‘politically motivated’ attempt to bring a private prosecution against a British-Israeli soldier using Victorian-era law.

The International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) had tried to get the Westminster magistrates’ court to issue a summons to begin a prosecution against the dual British-Israeli national who served in the Israel Defense Force (IDF).
The group invoked the Foreign Enlistment Act 1870 (FEA), which was enacted in the Victorian era to prevent British nationals from being deployed as mercenaries abroad.

But the court heard that the FEA, as interpreted, does not apply to a dual national serving in the armed forces of his other country.

Successive UK governments have also said the FEA does not apply to British nationals serving in the IDF.

A university has paid compensation to a student it suspended for hate speech after he compared a pro-Palestine activist’s headscarf to a tea towel.

Brodie Mitchell had accused his university of behaving unlawfully after it subjected him to “unfair” disciplinary measures over the petty “spat”.

The 20-year-old launched court proceedings against Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL) over its decision to temporarily suspend him from his studies over the comments.

RHUL has agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to Mr Mitchell as “a gesture of goodwill”, after the two sides settled the dispute out of court.

In a statement seen by The Telegraph, the university expressed regret for “the length of time” Mr Mitchell had been suspended and “the distress this caused him as a result”.

The U.S. military is ready to strike Iran “at the push of a button,” Pentagon leaders said Thursday, as a sweeping naval blockade forces ships to turn away from Iranian ports.

Iran has agreed to hand over its stockpile of enriched uranium, Donald Trump has claimed, saying the two sides were “close” to a peace deal to end the war.

“They’ve agreed to give us back the nuclear dust,” the US president told reporters, using his term for the enriched uranium supply that could be used to build nuclear weapons.

Uranium has been a major sticking point in the search for peace between the US and Iran. Tehran has offered to halt enrichment for five years, but the US insists it should cease activity for 20 years.

They’ll try to cheat, of course. But what worked with Obama and Biden will be less successful with Trump.

The U.S. military is not limiting its efforts to interdict Iranian vessels to the Middle East. Air Force Gen. Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters today that this is a global campaign.

“Let me be clear, this blockade applies to all ships, regardless of nationality, heading into or from Iranian ports,” he said. “The U.S. action is a blockade of Iran’s ports and coastline, not a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Enforcement will occur inside Iran’s territorial seas and in international waters.”

“In addition to this blockade, the joint force, through operations and activities in other areas of responsibility, like the Pacific Area of Responsibility, under the command of Admiral [Samuel] Paparo, will actively pursue any Iranian-flagged vessel or any vessel attempting to provide material support to Iran,” he added. “This includes Dark Fleet vessels carrying Iranian oil. As most of you know, Dark Fleet vessels are those illicit or illegal ships evading international regulations, sanctions or insurance requirements.”

Iran has used a secretly acquired Chinese spy satellite to target U.S. military bases in the Middle East, raising new concerns about Beijing’s role in bolstering Tehran’s military capabilities, according to a report.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) obtained control of a Chinese-built satellite known as TEE-01B in late 2024, the Financial Times reported Wednesday.

The satellite, launched from China and later transferred to Iran, significantly enhanced Tehran’s ability to monitor and strike U.S. and allied positions across the region.

Leaked documents reviewed by the Financial Times show Iranian commanders used the satellite to track key American military installations, capturing high-resolution imagery before and after missile and drone strikes.

Among the locations reportedly surveilled were Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, U.S. facilities in Jordan and Bahrain, and other strategic sites in Iraq and Kuwait.

Analysts say the system marks a major leap in Iran’s intelligence-gathering capabilities.

Hezbollah has fired approximately 3,000 rockets from an area where the Lebanese Army claimed to have disarmed the terror group, the Israeli military said, casting serious doubt on Beirut’s ability to control the Iranian-backed militia and raising fresh security concerns for Israel and the region.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the projectiles were launched from territory south of the Litani River — a zone Lebanese officials had declared cleared of Hezbollah weapons earlier this year, The Times of Israel reported.

Israeli military spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee said those assurances have now been proven false.

“Today, it is clear that this announcement was nothing but an outright lie,” Adraee said, pointing to the thousands of rockets fired since fighting intensified on March 2.

Jermaine Grant, 43, of no fixed abode, is accused of directing the activities of Al-Shabaab between December 31st, 2007, and January 1st, 2010.

Grant also faces three counts of attending an Al-Shabaab commando training camp in Kismayu, Somalia—contrary to Section 8 of the Terrorism Act 2006. In addition, he has been charged with two counts of possession of an article, namely an AK-47 assault rifle, for terrorist purposes under Section 57 of the Terrorism Act 2000. The charges follow an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing London.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where the case will proceed. Frank Ferguson, head of the Crown Prosecution Service’s special crime and counter terrorism division, stated that prosecutors determined there is sufficient evidence and that pursuing the case is in the public interest. He added that the charges relate to Grant’s alleged involvement with Al-Shabaab during 2008 and 2009.

With a few notable exceptions, tens of such organizations have produced a chorus of allegations based on invented evidence while massively distorting the language of morality and international law.

In contrast to the relatively supportive statements from many European leaders who highlight Israel’s right to self-defense and the danger of a nuclear Iran (alongside the usual slogans of restraint and peaceful solutions), the NGOs they fund under the labels of civil society and human rights continue with their propaganda campaigns.

The number of rape suspects in Austria has more than doubled since 2015, with foreign nationals — and Syrians in particular — driving a disproportionate share of the increase. In addition, foreigners nare now responsible for nearly half of all rapes, a major increase from 2015 as well.

The figures, provided by Austria’s Interior Ministry in response to a request by Austrian newspaper exxpress, paint a striking picture of a decade-long trend.

The composition of those suspects has shifted markedly. In 2015, 250 of the 688 suspects were foreign nationals — 36.3 percent of the total. By 2025, that number had risen to 538, representing 46.9 percent of all suspects, despite foreign nationals making up only 20.5 percent of Austria’s population.

Spanish police have uncovered a sophisticated underground tunnel used to smuggle large quantities of hashish from Morocco into Europe via the North African Spanish exclave of Ceuta.

The tunnel, found beneath an industrial warehouse, had been carefully concealed and equipped with pumping and soundproofing systems to avoid detection, police said.

Texas Congressman Keith Self has dropped a bombshell on the growing reality of Sharia-adherent communities taking root inside the United States. Far from some future hypothetical, these enclaves are here, now, and operating openly in his own district.

Self laid it out plainly: “Sharia is alive, well, and operating in Plano, Texas. Right now, as I speak, there is an existing Sharia-adherent enclave run by the East Plano Islamic Center in my congressional district. It’s been functioning for 12 years right in our midst. This is not a hypothetical or future threat. It is here, now and operational.”

He continued: “It is a parallel society, a de facto Sharia enclave operating in defiance of full assimilation into American law situated immediately adjacent to the very law enforcement facilities meant to protect our communities.”

The arrest of dozens of IRGC-linked money changers in the United Arab Emirates is one of the most serious blows yet to Tehran’s sanctions-evasion network, laying bare how heavily the Islamic Republic has depended on Dubai as an economic lifeline.

Sources familiar with the matter told Iran International that UAE authorities detained dozens of money changers tied to financial entities linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, shut down associated companies and closed their offices. The crackdown follows days of mounting regional tensions and comes after other measures targeting Iranian nationals, including visa revocations and tighter travel restrictions through Dubai.

For years, Dubai has served as Iran’s main offshore financial artery, where oil proceeds, petrochemical revenues and rial conversions were turned into dollars, dirhams and euros beyond the reach of the country’s battered domestic banking system.

“This is going to be a real problem for Tehran because Dubai was an economic lung for the Iranian regime,” Jason Brodsky of United Against Nuclear Iran told Iran International.

“That is economic pressure and diplomatic isolation in a way that the UAE is able to employ against the Iranian regime, and it will have a very considerable impact.”

The FBI said on Monday that an attack on the largest Jewish temple in Michigan earlier this month was an “act of terrorism” inspired by Hezbollah.

Ayman Ghazali, a 41-year-old man who was born in Lebanon and became a U.S. citizen in 2016, killed himself during the March 12 attack, when he crashed his truck into the Temple of Israel synagogue before opening fire on security guards and causing an explosion using fireworks, said Jennifer Runyan, the special agent in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Detroit field office.

No one else died during the attack on the synagogue where children were attending preschool.

The New York Post called it “a universal salute for ISIS”. But there is no such thing as an ISIS salute. It’s the traditional Islamic salute used during prayers to their deity and, much like “Allahu Akbar” is used by Islamists proclaiming that they represent Allah and are combating infidels.

ISIS beheaders held up one finger after beheading their non-Muslim victims, but so do most Muslims. The ISIS flag, a terrifying black and white chimera to most westerners, simply declares that Allah is the only deity and Mohammed is his messenger: the founding premise of Islam.

The persistent myth of an ‘ISIS salute’ continues to crop up when media outlets try to distinguish between Islam and some imaginary ‘extreme’ version of it represented by Islamic terrorists. The BBC and a UK police force previously apologized for calling the ‘Allah finger’ an ISIS salute.

What the ‘ISIS salute’ lie really reveals is the length to which authorities and the media will go to cover up the Islamic theology behind Islamic terrorism. What the Gracie Mansion bombing suspect likely meant to convey was that the murderous attack had been carried out in Allah’s name, that he was operating under Islamic law, and had no regard for our justice system.

A new report backed by European conservative lawmakers is sounding the alarm over what it describes as the spread of “no-go zones” across the European Union, linking the phenomenon directly to mass immigration, Islamization, and the breakdown of state authority in major urban areas.

The report was presented at a press conference on Wednesday by Sweden Democrats MEP Charlie Weimers, French nationalist MEP Marion Maréchal, and Brothers of Italy MEP Nicola Procaccini. Published by New Direction, the foundation tied to the ECR parliamentary group, the study argues that large parts of Europe are witnessing the rise of “parallel societies where the laws of the State are increasingly replaced by the codes of radicalisation and the rule of violence.”

An Afghan asylum seeker who crossed the Channel in a small boat has been jailed for 15 years after abducting and raping a 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

Ahmad Mulakhil, 23, carried out the attack just four months after arriving in the UK, targeting the schoolgirl before luring her into a secluded cul-de-sac where he repeatedly assaulted her.

During a 10-day trial at Warwick Crown Court, jurors heard how Mulakhil filmed the attack on his phone while laughing and threatening to kill the girl’s family. He was later convicted of rape, child abduction, sexual assault and taking indecent images of a minor.
