An NHS doctor was imprisoned, drugged, bound and gagged before being forced into marriage in Bangladesh, it emerged today, as a British judge issued an order telling her parents not “to pester, harass or intimidate” her.

Dr Humayra Abedin, 32, was held captive for four-and-a-half months by her family and was forced to marry while under the influence of drugs. She was freed by a court in Bangladesh and returned to Britain on Tuesday.

MP, Solveig Horne, who is a member of the Justice Committee, says on the party’s home page that special diets behind bars should be refused.

“There are already limited resources in the prison unit. We shouldn’t use time, money and energy on making room for special diets for some prisoners, based on religious convictions, culture, or taste buds, for that matter,” she says.

Horne thinks that certain Muslims, who want to live in accordance with the Koran, are more concerned with food in prison than with not committing the criminal acts that send them there.

More than a third of all prisoners in Norwegian prisons are Muslims. There are no prisons in Norway that offer halal-meat to prisoners.

Last weekend in the suburbs of Cairo, a congregation of Coptic Christians was besieged inside a newly-opened church by thousands of angry Muslims. It seems the Copts had had the temerity to open the church in a converted factory, and, as we all know, Islamic law forbids the establishment of new churches anywhere in Dar al-Islam.

The Muslim mob quickly converted the church into a mosque by praying there, and then went on a rampage against the church and the homes and businesses of Christians.

Bear in mind that the Copts are the original inhabitants of Egypt. How would the world press react if Native Americans opened a sweat lodge in Omaha and were immediately attacked by mobs of screaming Baptists? The question answers itself.
