The process of Islamization is not uniform across the European continent. In each country, Muslim immigrants traditionally come from certain regions, even from specific countries.

Thus, we have the central idea that forms a distinct brand of Islamic anti-Semitism: namely the motif that Jews are most hostile to Islam and Allah’s revelations among humanity, and therefore prone to treachery in dealings with others, arrogant self-righteousness, slaying Allah’s messengers and prophets, and other forms of evil conduct.

For example, the Qur’an itself affirms, “You will surely find that the people most hostile to the believers are the Jews and pagans” (5:82). One of the dirty little secrets of Islam — actually, it isn’t all that secret — is that a Muslim’s first loyalty is always to the Ummah; everything else comes after.

To anyone familiar with Muslim doctrine, Pfc. Naser Jason Abdo’s actions — from refusing to deploy to Afghanistan lest he kill fellow Muslims to plotting a terror attack to kill fellow Americans — make perfect sense and accord well with Islam’s dichotomous doctrine of wala wa bara, often translated as “loyalty and enmity.”

Built atop numerous Koran verses and backed by Sharia, wala requires Muslims to be loyal to fellow Muslims, and explains why Abdo refused to deploy to Muslim nations.

While loyalty may appear admirable, it has a flipside, bara, which requires Muslims to disassociate themselves from non-Muslims — to be disloyal to them (see al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri’s 60 page treatise titled “Loyalty and Enmity” in The Al Qaeda Reader for details).

Not surprisingly, the problem is framed in terms of “tribal” issues and not any religious ones. But the tribal courts and the societies that depend on them are informed by the letter and spirit of Islamic law, which cannot be discounted in a discussion of the challenges of improving the rights of women in Islamic countries. Qur’an 4:34 validates the idea of violence as a recourse against “disobedient” women. Qur’an 2:282 renders a woman’s testimony as worth half that of a man, and women’s testimony is routinely inadmissible in cases of adultery under Sharia. And Qur’an 24:13, a conveniently timed revelation that took the heat off of Muhammad’s wife Aisha when she was accused of adultery, has led to the nearly impossible requirement of having four witnesses to establish the crime of rape under Sharia.

These concepts, believed to originate from the mouth of Allah, have played a role in forming the consciences of those who operate and seek the judgment of local jirga courts, contributing to the treatment of women as possessions and commodities, the use of violence to “control” or make an example of them, and the under-reporting of crimes against them, including honor killings and rape.

Women who report the crimes face a second wave of assault — one that is often court-ordered.

This past May Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of parliament for Fremskrittspartiet (the Progress Party) in Norway made a speech to a party convention about the Islamization of Oslo and the dire effects that mass immigration has had on the capital city.

Lots of newspaper coverage about supposed Mormon polygamists — and attention from law enforcement — but everybody looks the other way when Muslims are polygamous.

An eight-year-old girl has been killed after insurgents used her in a bomb attack on police in southern Afghanistan, the government has said.

The interior ministry said insurgents gave the girl a package and told her to take it to a police vehicle, detonating it as she approached.

Abdullah Mohammed, 51, of 125th Street, was at the Harlem supermarket yesterday morning when he started arguing loudly at the customer service desk with William Perry, 70, a former truck driver. Five weeks after the fall of the Egyptian regime, Ayman Anwar Mitri’s apartment was torched. When he showed up to investigate, he was bundled inside by bearded Islamists.

Mr. Mitri is a member of the Christian Coptic minority that accounts for one-tenth of the country’s 83 million people. The Islamists accused him of having rented the apartment—by then unoccupied—to loose Muslim women.

Inside the burnt apartment, they beat him with the charred remains of his furniture. Then, one of them produced a box cutter and performed what he considered an appropriate punishment under Islam: He amputated Mr. Mitri’s right ear.

“When they were beating me, they kept saying: ‘We won’t leave any Christians in this country,'” Mr. Mitri recalled in a recent interview, two months after the March attack. Blood dripped through a plastic tube from his unhealed wound to a plastic container. “Here, there is a war against the Copts,” he said.

His attackers, who were never arrested or prosecuted, follow the ultrafundamentalist Salafi strain of Islam that promotes an austere, Saudi-inspired worldview. Before President Hosni Mubarak was toppled on Feb. 11, the Salafis mostly confined themselves to preaching. Since then, they’ve entered the political arena, drawing crowds and swaying government decisions. Salafi militants also have blocked roads, burned churches and killed Copts.
