Syrian Forces Accused of Killing 45 Women and Children

Compare the press coverage of this atrocity with that of the American solder who killed civilians in Afghanistan.
But I suppose ‘news’ means ‘something unusual’, and there isn’t anything unusual about Muslims killing people.

We expect thugs to act like thugs. We expect US servicemen to behave differently.

We would like to expect all things to be reported accurately and in context. The term “thugs” can be extended to the press in this case.
Under the pressure of war, there will always be those who crack and do terrible things. The Pentagon has gone to great lengths to try to head this sort of thing off, but after so many years and so many servicemen, it’s sadly inevitable.
It’s rare for me to agree with Dennis, but I have to say that a good POTUS would say exactly what Dennis commented. (I expect Obama to profusely grovel as a response.)

Expecting thugs to act like thugs is one thing. Reporting, and keeping the flames high, on outrage over the murderous actions of a US serviceman while winking and saying “well, we can’t expect anything else” when non-US thugs behave like this is a convenient double standard. We’re going to hear a near-constant drumbeat about the US soldier who committed mass murder for at least a week, but this might not even make the evening news. Where’s the outrage over a government behaving like murderous thugs? Oh, wait, nothing doesn’t count toward outrage unless it’s done by a Westerner, and preferably an American.

Wait–RealRick agrees with me?? Isn’t that one of the signs of the End Times? Maybe the Mayans were right…

My thought exactly, Dennis.
