The case of Rahman, 25, and Hannan, 36, has raised concerns that their victims, all from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, were failed by police and prosecutors when they first reported they had been attacked.

When a young girl is raped and murdered by Muslims in the West — say, in Blackpool, in northern England — her neighbors may become angry, and they may demonstrate in public to express their outrage. Approximately 2,000 Palestinians attended a “national rally” on behalf of the “martyrs” at the Palestinian presidential compound in Ramallah, including Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas and other government officials. While Hamas members attended the Ramallah ceremony, their primary event was held in Gaza. Hamas members fired 21-bullet salutes in honor of the suicide attackers, as a “salutation for their sacrifices.”

When dealing with Muslims, you never know what will set them off.

In spite of all their goodwill, the Italian volunteers were simply rolled over by events. Last Thursday the Vodafone company wanted to distribute free telephone cards in the San Felice Sul Panaro camp in the province of Modena. There a scuffle took place among North African immigrants, during which one of them pulled out his knife and stabbed one of his fellow countrymen.

On Saturday a big revolt broke out in the same camp as an Italian voluntary worker served a Muslim girl a dish of spaghetti Bolognese. Those in charge of maintaining the civil order in the camp explained that everything had simply been a mistake: “The worker gave her the wrong meal by mistake.” But the Muslim girl began to cry, summoned all of her family members, and accused the managers of the camp of having purposefully insulted Islam. The help of the plain-clothes security personnel was needed to restore peace.

I have an idea: Let’s everybody quit trying to help Muslims in trouble and let them get out of their own predicaments. It’s not as if they ever express any gratitude for the help they’re given, or hesitate to blow up non-Muslims because of it.

Here it is: Nine British Muslims, eight of Pakistani and one of Afghani origin, gang-raped dozens of underage white girls in the northern England town of Rochdale between 2008 and 2010. One of the nine just happens to be a father of five and a religious-studies teacher in his local mosque.

Dianne Wilton, the wife of a former British ambassador to Kuwait, has been treated for third degree burns after a suspected Islamist threw a pot of boiling water over her in a restaurant.

Christians continue to be attacked, arrested, imprisoned, and killed for allegedly “blaspheming” Islam’s prophet Muhammad; former Muslims continue to be attacked, arrested, imprisoned, and killed for converting to Christianity.

Egyptian husbands could soon be legally allowed to have sex with their dead wives for up to six hours after their death, local media is claiming.

The controversial new law is claimed to be part of a raft of measures being introduced by the Islamist-dominated parliament.

It will also see the minimum age of marriage lowered to 14 and the ridding of women’s rights of getting education and employment.

In a shrewd move — given the imminent inflation of at least three of the world’s major currencies, including the dollar — an Indonesian sultan has decided to mint Islamic gold and silver coins to be used in the payment of zakat. Hamas’ deputy politburo chief and former U.S. Muslim Brotherhood branch leader told The Forward this week that his group would view any agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority as more of a hudna—or cease-fire—than a peace treaty in the conventional sense of the word.
