Members of Brooklyn’s Jewish community used a pair of bolt cutters on Monday to cut the lock on Middleton Playground in Brooklyn, according to footage posted by NYC Scanner.

A heavily Jewish community’s nearby entrance to the park had been welded shut Monday morning. The city’s Parks & Recreation department then “unwelded” the gate and installed a linked chain and padlock.

You Okay, Fredo? McEnany Slams Cuomo, Lefty Journalists Bashing Hydroxychloroquine

20th May 2020

Read it.

fter the recent liberal media meltdown over hydroxychloroquine, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany tore apart their hysteria in Wednesday’s briefing. In particular, she took aim at CNN host Chris “Fredo” Cuomo for taking the more-dangerous quinine during his coronavirus bout. And seeing as how deranged corners of the liberal media have been seemingly rooting for the drug to fail, it was time someone — anyone — called out their nonsense.

Only 45% of Americans said they would be willing to vote for a socialist for president, while 53% say they would not, according to a Gallup poll released on Tuesday.

Gallup also asked voters on their willingness to choose candidates with other diverse characteristics, but “socialist” was the only one receiving majority opposition.

Let’s pull together and put Bernie over the top. With any luck there will be a machine gun waiting for him.

Pixar’s animated film Wall-E has sent a profound message to anyone who has watched the flick that if we don’t change our lifestyles, we’re all going to be obese and wheeled around in self-driving chairs.

Segway-Ninebot’s new S-Pod personal transporter is making this a reality, as the company gears up to take advantage of a record number of fat Americans who are currently wheeled around in shitty Rascal scooters.

I want one. With a pintle mount for a machine gun.

Fungal Architecture

5th January 2020

Read it.

As one of the primary consumers of environmental resource, the building industry faces unprecedented challenges in needing to reduce the environmental impact of current consumption practices. This applies to both the construction of the built environment and resource consumption during its occupation and use. Where incremental improvements to current practices can be realised, the net benefits are often far outstripped by the burgeoning demands of rapidly increasing population growth and urbanisation. Against the backdrop of this grand societal challenge, it is necessary to explore approaches that envision a paradigm shift in how material is sourced, processed and assembled to address the magnitude of these challenges in a truly sustainable way, and which can even provide added value. We propose to develop a structural substrate by using live fungal mycelium, functionalise the substrate with nanoparticles and polymers to make a mycelium-based electronics, implement sensorial fusion and decision making in the fungal electronics and to growing monolithic buildings from the functionalised fungal substrate. Fungal buildings will self-grow, build, and repair themselves subject to substrate supplied, use natural adaptation to the environment, sense all what human can sense.

‘Waffle House Index’ Is a Real Thing During Disasters

Waffle House restaurants are often used to gauge the magnitude of disasters in the Southeast: If a store is open, your community has been spared. If the store is open but has a limited menu, you’ve probably gotten some damage. If the store is completely closed, you’re in a disaster zone.

Pennsic, Or What I Did on My Summer Vacation

1st September 2019

Ken Mondschein takes to the woods.

For the past 48 years, around 10,000 people have been gathering every summer for a festival that’s been described as “medieval Burning Man.”

My first Pennsic was Pennsic X, and it was already too big for comfort. Parts of it were fun, though, including hearing Duke Talymar’s Gargoyle Cycle of stories. And watching Lady Maureen of the Spicewoods put ice cream in Duke Moonwulf’s helmet was entertaining. Go, Rangers.

It’s OK to Get Rich

Heart: Still Cooking With Fire After All These Years

20th June 2019

Ann Wilson was the distinctive lead vocalist, while Nancy provided great harmony and kicking guitar licks. Their debut album, Dreamboat Annie, was released in America our bicentennial year, with “Magic Man” and “Crazy on You” propelling them up the radio play charts. They struck while the iron was hot, releasing Little Queen in 1977 and Dog & Butterfly in 1978. These women did their own thing, playing neither the tough girl nor the pop tart. They did not need an image manager, as they actually had musical and songwriting talent.

Valerie Jarrett’s Book Makes the Corrupt New York Times’ Bestseller List — Despite Being Ranked 1,030 on Amazon

15th April 2019

Read it.

Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett’s book is number 1,030 on Amazon with only three reviews, but is on the NYT Best Seller list. An industry insider said that was “inconceivable” and that Jarrett likely paid a company that helps authors buy their way onto the list.

One such company buys 10,000 copies of an author’s book and tries to prevent bestseller lists from realizing the sales aren’t organic, in which case the book may be moved down or taken off the list.

There were 12,600 reported sales of Jarrett’s book, enough to rank it highly on the Publishers Weekly chart, but Publishers Weekly did not put it on its list at all.

My, what a surprise. Aren’t you surprised? I’m sure surprised.
