With huge budgets to employ lobbyists, lawyers, and public relations professionals, many of America’s leading environmental non-profits are unrecognizable from their modest beginnings. What may seem like an organic, disparate movement is actually a well oiled machine that receives its funding from a handful of super rich liberal donors operating behind the anonymity of foundations and charities, according to a new report out today by the Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW).

The EPW report titled The Chain of Command: How a Club of Billionaires and Their Foundations Control the Environmental Movement and Obama’s EPAmeticulously details how the “Billionaires’ Club” funds nearly all of the major environmental non-government organizations (NGO), many media outlets, and supposed grassroots activists. The Billionaire Report continues by describing the cozy relationship many environmental groups have with the executive branch and the revolving door that makes this possible.

On the last day of May, a surface-to-air rocket was signed out of a military base near Moscow where it had been stored for more than 20 years.

According to the ornate Cyrillic handwriting in the weapon’s Russian Defence Ministry logbook, seen by Reuters, the portable rocket, for use with an Igla rocket launcher, was destined for a base in Rostov, some 50 km (31 miles) from the Ukrainian border. In that area, say U.S. officials, lies a camp for training Ukrainian separatist fighters.

Three weeks later the rocket and its logbook turned up in eastern Ukraine, where government troops seized them from pro-Russian separatists.

The logbook, which is more than 20 pages long, records that rocket 03181 entered service on May 21, 1993, and had regular tests as recently as 2005 to make sure it was in fighting form. The seal of the Russian Defence Ministry has been stamped over the signature sending the weapon to Rostov.

Miller-Young, who teaches feminist and black cultural studies courses — which includes classes on pornography, sex work, and a specialization in “queer theory” — reportedly confronted the young girls by loudly talking over them at first, then she ridiculed them and called them names. The professor’s behavior escalated when destroyed some of the pro-life group’s signage and physically assaulted Thrin, inflicting minor injuries on the young girl.

The Short sisters took video of Miller-Young physically pushing and swinging her arms at the teen, and posted it to YouTube.

Disney cartoons and other G-rated children’s movies are full of “gendered sexuality,” subjecting women to the male “objectifying gaze,” as “heterosexuality is constructed through hetero-romantic love relationships as exceptional, powerful, magical, and transformative.”

These were the conclusions of Women’s Studies professors Karin Martin and Emily Kazyak in their 2009 research paper, “Hetero-Romantic Love and Heterosexiness in Children’s G-Rated Films.” The sociologists examined “all the G-rated films grossing $100 million dollars or more between 1990 and 2005? and found that these movies convey what feminists call “heteronormativity”….

Or, in other words, ‘normal’. But normality is the thought-crime that feminists hate, because it interferes with their artificially constructed ideologically based world-view that they seek to impose on Reality.

For years — since before he was NY State’s governor — we’ve raised questions about Andrew Cuomo’s activities. When he was Attorney General, he often used that position to grandstand around various issues that sounded good politically, but were real world disasters. He browbeat ISPs into policing the internet, when they had no legal obligation to, with bogus threats of lawsuits — even pushing them to install spyware to snoop on everyone’s traffic. He was among the leaders of the group of Attorneys General who wanted to blame high-profile internet companies for the way consumers used them, and he tried to broker a “3 strikes” system to kick file sharers offline. Since becoming governor, he’s been embroiled in a bunch of scandals, including having staffers use private email accounts to hide their work from Freedom of Information laws.

Now, however, things are heating up. The NY Times has reported that Cuomo’s greatly hyped “corruption commission” appeared to be nothing more than a front group for Cuomo himself. That is, he seemed fine with it investigating “corruption” of others, but if it came anywhere near him or his friends, Cuomo’s people ordered the commission to back away — and they did.

Yet Another Corrupt Democrat Politician. Not really news, but a useful reminder.

Naomi Oreskes, a Harvard University professor who flies around the world in pollutant-spewing jumbo jet airliners to proclaim that climate change is a terrible menace, has co-written another book warning about the planet’s dire environmental situation.

Nothing reveals the truth behind the ‘climate change’ racket more directly than looking at the lifestyles of those who push it. It rapidly becomes clear that they don’t believe their own nonsense; it’s just a slogan with which they can scare power and money out of the gullible — who, unfortunately in these degenerate modern times, all have the vote and use it to put thieves and demagogues into power.

 Joseph R. Wood III was 30 when he murdered his ex-girlfriend, Debbie Dietz, 29, and her father, Gene Dietz, 55, in Tucson in 1989. Because our legal system has been encumbered by federal court concessions to the “rights” of murderers, it took 25 years to impose justice on this cowardly hateful killer. Also, because of concessions to the Murderers’ Rights Movement, effective methods of capital punishment — the noose, the firing squad, the gas chamber, the electric chair — have been outlawed, replaced by lethal injection drugs, so that those who callously take human life can be dispatched in a “humane” manner.

This is the guy concerning whom all of the Special Snowflakes are upset because it apparently took him a couple of hours to die. I have no sympathy for him, and nothing but contempt for those who ignore the victims and weep for the victimizer.

For the first time since the end of the cold war, the advance of democratic constitutionalism has stopped. The army has staged a coup in Thailand and it’s unclear whether the generals will allow democracy to take root in Burma. For every African state, like Ghana, where democratic institutions seem secure, there is a Mali, a Côte d’Ivoire, and a Zimbabwe, where democracy is in trouble.

In Latin America, democracy has sunk solid roots in Chile, but in Mexico and Colombia it is threatened by violence, while in Argentina it struggles to shake off the dead weight of Peronism. In Brazil, the millions who took to the streets last June to protest corruption seem to have had no impact on the cronyism in Brasília. In the Middle East, democracy has a foothold in Tunisia, but in Syria there is chaos; in Egypt, plebiscitary authoritarianism rules; and in the monarchies, absolutism is ascendant.

In Europe, the policy elites keep insisting that the remedy for their continent’s woes is “more Europe” while a third of their electorate is saying they want less of it. From Hungary to Holland, including in France and the UK, the anti-European right gains ground by opposing the European Union generally and immigration in particular. In Russia the democratic moment of the 1990s now seems as distant as the brief constitutional interlude between 1905 and 1914 under the tsar.

Older enterprises like Ford and younger ones like Google that form the manufacturing and technology economy of the 21^st century need more tech-savvy workers than universities and community colleges provide. However, even if enough liberal arts and business programs could retool to produce all the science, math, technology, and engineering graduates needed, the remaining programs would still produce many more non-STEM graduates than the economy could absorb.

Similarly innovators often don’t need a lot of money to create valuable new enterprises or expand established businesses. Consider that many young people create profitable apps and marketing platforms on their laptops, and major corporations are flush with billions in cash and too few opportunities to deploy it.

Consequently, established companies and individual investors bid up prices for young enterprises, whose owners wish to cash in on their initial success, and pay astronomical sums for the initial public offerings of companies like Facebook. They bid up prices for stocks, bonds, and collectables, and drive down yields on dividend-paying stocks and interest rates on bonds and CDs.

To generate enough jobs, the economy must create lots of service businesses beyond the ecosystems of manufacturing and technology — everything from restaurants to retirement homes, but government regulations dictating wages, sick leave, and health benefits drive many services offshore. That’s why credit card call centers and even some back office legal services are in Asia.

Modern businesses increasingly need highly intelligent, highly educated workers. Government regulations act as a tariff on employing domestic workers who are less intelligent and less educated, which is why domestic businesses are outsourcing such work overseas where such workers don’t cost more than they’re actually worth economically. Government attempts to make sure that the Underclass make a ‘living wage’ merely ensure that they don’t have any jobs at all.

AFSCME’s relationship with the UNCF revolved around their Union Scholars Program, in which sophomore- and junior-year college students could work with AFSCME during the summer and receive scholarship support aftwerward [sic].

That program will cease on Sept. 1.

“We must hold ourselves to the same standards that we promote through the Union Scholars Program,” [union president Lee] Saunders wrote. “To practice what we preach, to fight for social justice, and to stand up for what we beleive [sic]. I cannot in good conscience face these students or AFSCME’s members if I looked the other way and ignored your actions.”

On July 5 Breitbart News reported Jones was receiving death threats and had become the object of a “Kill Kendall Jones” Facebook page because of photos she posted from African hunts. On July 9, Facebook removed all Jones hunting photos and later that day, after public outcry, also shut down the “Kill Kendall Jones” page.

Last year, when the United States threatened military action against Syria, only to reverse itself overnight and become partners with the Assad government in the destruction of the tyrant’s declared stocks of chemical weapons, Wergin was struck by an insight. “I suddenly understood the problem with this American president and his foreign policy,” he wrote. “He sounded just like a German politician: all moral outrage, but little else to help end one of the most devastating civil wars of our age.” The recognition left him with a feeling not of elation but of disappointment. “President Obama, I thought with a sigh, has become a European.”

One of the largest U.S. labor unions cut ties with the United Negro College Fund this week, accusing the organization of “betrayal” after it accepted a $25 million grant from the billionaire Koch brothers, the union said Thursday.

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, or AFSCME, said President Lee Saunders wrote to UNCF President Michael Lomax Tuesday, saying in the letter that he was “deeply troubled” by the grant and then “stunned” when Mr. Lomax later spoke at a Koch brothers summit in California.

I guess supporting the Democrat political agenda is more important than educating black kids. Glad we got that cleared up.

Reuters reported that “a cargo train” nicknamed “the Beast,” which is “used by Mexicans and Central Americans to travel toward the U.S. border,” derailed on Wednesday in Oaxaca, Mexico.”

About 1,300 migrants, many of whom were “young people,” were reportedly stranded but not injured while riding what others have referred to as “El Tren de la Muerte,” or Death Train.

As Breitbart Texas has reported, “children who travel via Death Train must jump onto a moving freight car” and “minors who cannot successfully pull themselves onto the traveling cars fall onto the tracks” and “many are left with extreme injuries,” like losing arms and legs.

On July 2 Breitbart News reported that interim Target CEO John Mulligan “respectfully” asked law-abiding citizens not to bring their guns in Target stores.

Since then, Gainesville, Georgia, police have arrested three over a Target parking lot robbery and are looking for another man who punched a woman and stole her Mercedes at a Decatur, Georgia, Target as well.

Within two weeks of asking law-abiding citizens to leave their guns home, two Jack in the Box stores were robbed, and a shooting took place at a third.

There is always a certain dissociation when leftists gather at a Ritz Carlton hotel to discuss their commitment to the poor. It is impossible not to laugh at this invitation to a dinner with Katrina vanden Heuvel, the heiress who bought and now runs the Nation magazine, a Communist publication, and New York’s newly-elected mayor Bill de Blasio. They will discuss “New York’s path to social and economic equality.” Sure: in the world to come, the hedge fund manager will share his income equally with the doorman, and Miss vanden Heuvel will divide her inheritance with New York’s poor.

TD has paid millions to the future first First Gentleman of the United States, during his wife’s tenure as Secretary of State and in her ongoing role as designated President-in-Waiting.

What exactly are they paying for? Speeches? He’s less dull a public speaker than the average politician, or average former president (Gerald Ford, say). But nothing he says would seem to merit, for example, the $525,000 TD paid Bill in one 24-hour period alone, which convenience-wise is about as good as it gets. So again: what exactly are TD getting for their shareholders by putting all this money in the Clintons’ pockets?

After losing her job, she tried to start a pastry business, only to find the regulatory environment impossible. Among other things, they wanted her to pay the business’s first two years of taxes up front, before it had taken in a cent. When the business failed, her lesson was this: “I, like thousands of others trying to start businesses, learned that I would be at the mercy of public employees who interpreted the laws so they could profit themselves.”

The term “hormonal birth control” includes not only The Pill, but also Depo-Provera and Yasmin/Yaz, the latter of which is the target of lawsuits that blame side effects of the drug for causing nearly two dozen deaths.

Liberal feminists have called her book “dangerous” and use name-calling techniques in attempts to push Griggs-Spall to the margins of feminist discourse. As many of us know, being insulted and told to keep quiet are tools used to keep us away from discovering truths and maintain the status quo. Grigg-Spall is referred to as a “crank” (how feminist!), and potential readers of her book are warned that discussing female biology and women’s experiences is inherently “essentialist”. . . . There are several critiques of this book that have similar tones and I found the pro-pill apologism quite transparent.

So the radical feminist believes that the arguments of “sex-positive/mainstream feminism” are just coincidentally aligned with the interests of the pharmaceutical industry that promotes hormonal birth control. I’d bet that if a diligent researcher looked closely at the financing behind institutional feminism, they would discover that this alignment is not entirely coincidental, like how “mainstream feminism” sold out to the porn industry in the 1980s. People need to be more skeptical. Not everybody who says they’re your friend is actually your friend.

In recent years we in America have lived through a disturbing reversal of our concept of the citizen and our foundational rejection of the hereditary model.

Despite the fact that we are more than three hundred million strong, when it comes to political power, we seem intent on reestablishing the old hereditary aristocracy rejected, dismissed and dissolved by our ancestors.

Unlike the contemporary British model, with the Queen cozily ensconced in Buckingham Palace where she can do no harm, we Americans seem to be succumbing to the lure of a neo-aristocracy, one in which we endow our neo-aristocrats, our “royal families,” with full and unfettered political power and all that that entails.

The photographs of Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush are not accidental.

If Hillary Clinton or Jeb Bush were to become president of the United States it would mean the power and influence of the presidency remained in the hands of the Clinton family for possibly sixteen years, and that’s not even counting the princess in waiting, Chelsea; and in the case of the Bush family, possibly twenty years, and that’s not counting the heir apparent, George Prescott Bush.

I do have one hunch about what will happen: social science research in to gay marriage will be discouraged, when it is not suppressed or demonized because any finding that might deviate from the current triumphalism will be politically incorrect.
