Resistance to the bipartisan establishment keeps growing, and even if Trump loses to Clinton in a landslide, he has carried the rebellion further than ever before by winning a major party’s nomination.

Labor Day is an appropriate moment to reflect on a quiet catastrophe: the collapse, over two generations, of work for American men. During the past half-century, work rates for U.S. males spiraled relentlessly downward. I have spent my life as a Democrat which probably isn’t that surprising considering that I am African-American. One of the things that always attracted me to the party were the ideals of equality, fighting for the little guy and our openness to differing opinions, but lately I have seen my party take a turn that makes me uncomfortable. What if the United Nations didn’t exist? It’s a question easily answered, because for nearly all of human history, it didn’t. History “teaches us that order in international relations is the exception, rather than the rule,” Kevin Rudd, the former Australian prime minister, writes in a new report on the uncertain future of the UN. “Since the rise of the modern nation-state, both prior to and following the Peace of Westphalia in 1648, disorder has been the dominant characteristic of inter-state relations.” We tend to think of the United Nations as just another part of the global furniture. But it’s actually a recent addition.

There is “growing evidence of nation-states walking around the UN to solve major problems and then perhaps coming back to the UN when it’s all done as some sort of diplomatic afterthought,” Rudd told me. The United Nations continues to establish rules for how people and states should conduct themselves in the world. “The problem is, if you simply set norms and don’t do anything about the execution of those norms, as the international agency given that function back under the charter of 1945, then you start to lose complete relevance over time.”

About three-fifths of all Puerto Ricans now live on the mainland.

Would you want to be cooped up on an island full of Puerto Ricans? What do black people do when they get money? They go live with white people. Maybe they know something you don’t know.

That’s an important fraction to be aware of because we are often told that only a small percentage of the 6.1 billion people who live in the less developed nations would bother to decamp for the first world under a policy of open borders. But the experience of Puerto Rico, which is hardly poor (GPD per capita is near triple the world average), suggests that if allowed, third worlders would keep coming until life in America and Europe declines to third-world conditions.

Hey, those are facts, and nobody around here is interested in facts. Certainly nobody in the government.

The Democrats’ intensive ground game in Orlando to register new arrivals from Puerto Rico isn’t controversial. After all, the Democrats’ grand strategy in the 21st century is for the government to elect a new people, while demonizing as hateful racists any Americans who dare object to politicians importing foreign ringers to win elections. Within that context, Hillary’s Puerto Rican ploy is among her less ethically challenged immigration stratagems.

The following harrowing account describes the horrors experienced by a 14-year-old German girl at the hands of four young immigrants from Serbia. (Yes, I know they could still be Muslims, even though they’re from Serbia. There’s no way to tell from the information provided. However, most Muslims in the former Yugoslavia are now in Bosnia, Macedonia, and Kosovo, so chances are these are Serbian boys with an Orthodox background.)

It’s no wonder that Wall Street firms now require new hires to sign arbitration contracts agreeing not to join class actions. They have also expanded training and other diversity programs. But on balance, equality isn’t improving in financial services or elsewhere. Although the proportion of managers at U.S. commercial banks who were Hispanic rose from 4.7% in 2003 to 5.7% in 2014, white women’s representation dropped from 39% to 35%, and black men’s from 2.5% to 2.3%. The numbers were even worse in investment banks (though that industry is shrinking, which complicates the analysis). Among all U.S. companies with 100 or more employees, the proportion of black men in management increased just slightly—from 3% to 3.3%—from 1985 to 2014. White women saw bigger gains from 1985 to 2000—rising from 22% to 29% of managers—but their numbers haven’t budged since then. Even in Silicon Valley, where many leaders tout the need to increase diversity for both business and social justice reasons, bread-and-butter tech jobs remain dominated by white men.

Funny thing how reality works even when you don’t want it to.

It shouldn’t be surprising that most diversity programs aren’t increasing diversity. Despite a few new bells and whistles, courtesy of big data, companies are basically doubling down on the same approaches they’ve used since the 1960s—which often make things worse, not better. Firms have long relied on diversity training to reduce bias on the job, hiring tests and performance ratings to limit it in recruitment and promotions, and grievance systems to give employees a way to challenge managers. Those tools are designed to preempt lawsuits by policing managers’ thoughts and actions. Yet laboratory studies show that this kind of force-feeding can activate bias rather than stamp it out. As social scientists have found, people often rebel against rules to assert their autonomy. Try to coerce me to do X, Y, or Z, and I’ll do the opposite just to prove that I’m my own person.

Actual knowledge of how people really behave doesn’t last long in the Social Justice Warrior fantasy world.

Everybody assumes as a religious tenet that diversity is better than not; but nobody attempts to run the numbers to find out. When they do, they find that ‘diversity’ actually impairs team performance because people naturally distrust those who aren’t substantially like them.

The homicide rate in the District spiked 54 percent in 2015 and is only 14 percent lower so far this year. Homicides have tripled this year in Ward 7.

D.C. is suffering a violent year overall, with 90 homicides across the city. The alarming surge in homicides is down from the shocking numbers in 2015, but is still historically high. There were a total of 105 homicides in 2014 and 88 in 2012.

Where did all these criminal white people come from? After all, we know from Black Lives Matter that black people are peaceful and law-abiding.

Environmentalists are evicting native tribes in third world countries in the name of saving the environment, according to reports.

“Governments are accessing wealthy conservation groups based in the U.S. and Europe to take advantage of the billions of pounds of conservation money being offered by global banks, northern governments and foundations for climate change and biodiversity protection,” according to a Sunday article in The Guardian.

In order to make room for conservation-oriented eco-tourism and other anti-global warming confabs, local governments are using green rhetoric as a pretext to abuse some of the poorest people in the world. The Guardian discovered several dozen cases of human rights abuses in central Africa executed in the name of global warming and with financially support from the U.S. and E.U.

In the latest instalment of the on-going saga known as ‘millennials ruin everything’, canned wine is – shock horror – firmly a ‘thing’ in the US. Having already developed such innovations as “slap the bag” – ripping the sack out of a wine box, raising it above your head and spanking it, before opening the tap into your mouth – they’ve now moved on to “tinnies”, partly due to their convenience (something important to more than three quarters of US adults) and partly because they contain single-servings (attractive to almost half of US consumers). The drink’s fate was sealed when upmarket grocer and taste-maker Whole Foods declared 2016 the year of canned wine.

 Middle-class revulsion with the political mainstream has been driven by slow economic growth, stagnant wages, a dysfunctional education system, and, for smaller businesses, a tightening regulatory regime. Homeownership is now at a nearly half-century low. New business start-ups, for the first time in three decades, are not keeping up with the number of deaths. Both stats reveal a real decline in aspiration. Most Americans, in a stunning reversal of past trends, see a worse future for their offspring than themselves. Who can blame them? Middle-class breadwinners and working-class wage-earners now suffer from deteriorating health and shorter lifespans.

Trump’s landmark professional achievement has been in catering to the luxury market while building casinos that empty the pockets of people who often cannot afford the losses. The average price of a condo in Trump Tower in New York, the Donald’s signature property, rests around a median of $5 million.

A Trump administration would be unlikely to reflect blue-collar interests, but rather those of his inner circle, which includes some of the most ravenous Wall Street operators. The same is true of his general election opponent.

By elevating this disingenuous demagogue, Trump voters have assisted in the further ascendency of the oligarch class. The forces coalescing around Hillary Clinton — mainstream Wall Street, particularly hedge funds, beltway lobbyists, the big media, Silicon Valley, Hollywood, and green capitalists  — do not share the priorities of Middle America. Bernie Sanders made an issue of Clinton’s Wall Street support, but the Vermont socialist was always too marginal, cranky and, ultimately, too doctrinaire to win even in today’s Democratic Party.

A teenage girl took her own life after posting an offensive image online and fearing she could be accused of racism as a result, a coroner’s court has heard.

Phoebe Connop, 16, was found dead at her home in Halesowen in the West Midlands on 7 July. An inquest into her death at Black Country Coroner’s Court heard that prior to her death, she had posted a photo in a group message among friends which she had altered to show herself with dark skin. The teenager had recently begun dating an Asian man and joked that she would have to look like the girl in the photo to get his family’s approval, The Daily Mail reports.

A BBC crew visited the highways by the tunnel separating the countries and got to see first hand how the hijackings take place. A video posted Thursday show the road blocked off by large branches. When a truck approaches, people immediately run toward it and threaten their way onto the truck.

Now, in American that would get them shot.

This must be why European countries put such restrictions on gun ownership; they like power in the hands of criminals.

Authorities told the BBC crew that Calais has become a “no-go zone” between midnight and 6 a.m., when most attacks take place.

Calais is home to the infamous “jungle” migrant camp where thousands of migrants have set up a community as they wait to gain entry to the United Kingdom. The jungle has doubled in size during the summer and is now home to almost 9,000 migrants.

And what is France doing about it? Why, nothing! What do they care if people going to Britain are inconvenienced? Or threatened.

Two days after two nuns were found brutally murdered in one of the poorest corners of Mississippi, plunging the state into mourning, the authorities said they had taken a suspect into custody.

Rodney Early Sanders, 46, was charged with two counts of capital murder in the case after extensive interviews with detectives during Friday, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety spokesman, Warren Strain, said in a statement.

The alternative energy source has long been praised for being carbon-neutral because the plants it is made from absorb carbon dioxide, which causes global warming, from the atmosphere while they are growing.

But new research in the US has found that the crops used for biofuel absorb only 37 per cent of the C02 that is later released into the atmosphere when the plants are burnt, meaning the process actually increases the amount of greenhouse gas in the air.

But does that mean that government will back off from mandating them? By no means!

A spokesperson for Open Society Foundations told The Daily Caller that the group was trying to “boost democratic practice” by secretly funneling $135,000 to foreign government officials.

Of course they were.

As originally reported by TheDC, from July 2013 to February 2015 OSF secretly paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to four key staffers working for the prime minister of Moldova, including chief of staff Eugen Sturza. The organization, which is controlled by liberal billionaire George Soros, worked around Moldovan laws by funneling the money through a German non-profit.

Inconveniently, Moldova doesn’t have a Clinton Family Foundation.

Gunmen have attacked a charity-funded boat rescuing refugees in the Mediterranean Sea, shooting at international aid workers before boarding the vessel.

The Bourbon Argos, which is operated by Doctors Without Borders (MSF), was patrolling around 24 nautical miles north of the Libyan coast when a speedboat approached.

Those on board failed to identify themselves or answer radio contact, then opened fire from around 500 metres away as rescue workers sought refuge in a designated safe area.

The armed men then boarded the Bourbon Argos and searched the vessel, which had no refugees on board at the time, for almost an hour.

A freed ISIS hostage, who shared a cell with Mueller, described one instance to CNN in which her and Mueller, “were completely black from the beating. They beat us with everything: cables, belts and wooden sticks.”

Meanwhile Mueller’s parents were trying to secure her release and contacted any organization they thought could assist them. Mueller’s parents told ABC News Doctors Without Borders refused to speak with them, even though they were negotiating the release of seven of their personnel from ISIS. The organization even refused to speak with an FBI case agent trying to facilitate Mueller’s release.

Individuals are of no importance in pursuit of the One World Order.

Consider it one of this summer’s most underreported stories. In what’s described as “one of the largest civil rights indictments in L.A. history,” an old-school Mexican gang—one of the original Mexi gangs that date back to the pre–World War II era—ran a ruthless campaign to keep “niggers” out of its neighborhood. The Big Hazard gang (also known as Hazard Grande) runs the streets in Boyle Heights, a neighborhood in East L.A. As of 2010, Boyle Heights was about 94% Latino, owing in no small part to the fact that Big Hazard had an unwritten rule about not tolerating black residents. In recent years, however, blacks had slowly been making inroads into the community, so Big Hazard decided to put a little fire and brimstone behind its unwritten rule.

Now, when I say the story has been “underreported,” I don’t mean there’s been a blackout (pardon the term). The story has received obligatory coverage in all the usual fish rags, from the Times of L.A. to the one in New York. But what’s missing is the outrage. Big Hazard’s activities were tolerated (to say the least) by the local Latino population. Was there perhaps some fear of speaking up against the gang? Sure, but still, it’s a local gang, made up of local boys. Where are the calls for the neighborhood to undergo “racial sensitivity training”? Where are the black leaders locking arms and marching through the streets in defiance? Where are the garment-rending op-eds and monologues from leftist journalists, hosts, and pundits?

Has anybody angrily confronted Edward James Olmos (who was born in East L.A.) about how he has a “responsibility” to go down to Boyle Heights and lecture his fellow Mexican Angelenos about the evils of racism? Of course not. In short, as you don’t need me to tell you, there has been no outrage because whites aren’t involved (except as, you know, the lawmen trying to bring justice to the blacks of East L.A., but don’t think for a moment that any black person is going to give whites any kudos for that).

We’re always being told that white flight occurred because whites succumb to irrational Stereotypes about blacks being crime prone, so, logically, these black families are saving a bundle by living by in safe yet low rent neighborhoods. You could, for example, save your money on housing and send your kids to private school.

I guess, however, because the NYT describes black neighborhoods as “segregated” it mean it’s a bad thing. “Segregated” is the mirror image of “diverse,” which is a good thing. NFL starting cornerbacks are “diverse,” while East St. Louis is “segregated.”

Adam Hilarie, 27, was shot in the head during a robbery that police say Hailey Bustos, 18, arranged within hours after visiting his home on their first date in the central Florida town of Auburndale.

Police said Mr Hilarie and Bustos met through the PlentyOfFish website. They went to his place after bowling Thursday night, and then he drove her home. Investigators believe she and three other assailants then met to discuss the robbery.

She returned Friday night with Andre Warner, 26; Gary Gray, 31; and Joshua Ellington, 31, police said Tuesday after all four were arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, armed robbery and first-degree murder.

I can’t point out that everyone involved was a Person of Color because that would be raaaaaaacist.

Mr Ray said police believe Bustos agreed to the date with the intention of setting up the robbery. Three of the four, including Bustos, also have been charged with violation of probation.

I would, however, like to point out that the reason so large a portion of the prison population are black appears to be that for some reason — purely by coincidence, of course — those who like to commit crimes appear to be People of Color. What are the odds?

A Chicago restaurant abruptly closed this week, with ownership blaming the “rapidly changing labor market” and a 27 percent increase in base minimum wage costs over the last two years as culprits for the collapse.

Cantina 1910, a farm-to-table Mexican restaurant located in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood, opened in September 2015.

Former Cantina 1910 employees said they were shocked to find out late Sunday evening of the closing, DNAinfo reported.

“We are unable to further raise prices in this competitive restaurant market in order to sustain the labor costs necessary to operate Cantina 1910,” Mark Robertson and Mike Sullivan, Cantina 1910’s owners, said in an emailed statement to The Daily Signal.

It’a amazing how many people seem unable to grasp the simple economic fact that if you raise the price of something people want less of it.
