Feminists reacted with outrage to what they said was the latest example of “making women unmentionable” in the name of transgender equality.

The statement comes in Britain’s official submission on proposed amendments to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, to which the UK has been a signatory since 1976. The UN treaty says a “pregnant woman” must be protected, including not being subject to the death penalty.

Federal funding for basic research—more than half of it conducted on university campuses like this one—has effectively declined since 2008, failing to keep pace with inflation. According to a 2016 Washington Post-ABC poll, nearly half of Americans say voter fraud happens often. With this much distrust in the voting system, it’s time the voters took action and push for more voting identification standards to be evaluated and improved.

The same poll shows that Trump supporters specifically think voter fraud occurs often, and in my opinion, Trump voters have every right to feel this way considering multiple instances of voter fraud being uncovered in recent elections.

Thanks to its greenbelt and slow-growth policies, Boulder, Colorado is the nation’s most-expensive and least-affordable housing market of any city not in a coastal state. As a result, as noted in an op-ed in The Hill, the number of black residents in Boulder declined by 30 percent between 2010 and 2016, leaving less than 1.6 percent of the city with African-American ancestry.

Portland uses the same system to cement its reputation as the Whitest City in America. An airy contrivance of virtue-signaling that has the added (but unstated) benefit of getting rid of the Useless Underclass (black). I guess the system works.

Students of ancient history may recall that in May 2014 the Obama administration traded five high-ranking Taliban terrorists held at Guantanamo for Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl. In 2009 Bergdahl had walked off his base and set off a manhunt that proved costly in blood and resources. Taken into custody by the Taliban, he was turned over to the Haqqani network.

President Obama announced Bergdahl’s return in a Rose Garden press conference featuring Bergdahl’s parents. Obama pretended it was a great triumph when it was at best a pitiful reflection of his obsession with closing our detention facility at Guantanamo. To add the customary insult to the unusual injury, Obama failed to provide Congress with the mandatory 30 days’ notice about the plans to transfer the Taliban officials from Guantanamo.

Who better than national security adviser Susan Rice to go out and lie about it on Obama’s behalf? Speaking on one of the Sunday gabfests, she earnestly assured us that Bergdahl had been “captured in combat” and “served with honor and distinction.”

Today Bergdahl pleaded guilty to the charges of desertion and misbehavior lodged against him. Sentencing is to occur on October 23. All in all, a case that in its various facets perfectly represents the character of President Obama and his administration.

I spoke with friends who are planning to leave the state because they’re terrified of saying a positive word about Donald Trump for fear of having their heads smashed in with bike locks. And I don’t blame them, seeing as how the state has thrown a collective conniption ever since he announced his candidacy. Californian radicals threw some of the most violent tantrums at Trump rallies during the entire campaign, and, of course, Berkeley gets incinerated every time someone to the right of Che Guevara tries to make a peep.

If you removed California from the 2016 presidential election, Trump would have smashed Clinton in the Electoral College in a 306-177 rout. He also would have flogged her in the popular vote by nearly 1.5 million.

In a notorious incident in Paris last year, a gang of “anti-fascists” attacked and burned a police car, assaulting the officers inside it. Despite their being masked, several of the thugs were identified and apprehended, and have been put on trial. As it turns out, these violent youngsters are from “good families”, and are not desperate and destitute proletarians, as the mythologists of the left would have us believe.

It’s been a bad month for Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance. First there were reports that he declined to indict Ivanka Trump and her brother Donald Jr. for allegedly misleading prospective real estate buyers, but not til after Vance had received a large donation from Donald Sr.’s lawyer. Then Vance turned out to have had the same damning audio recording of Harvey Weinstein admitting to groping a woman’s breasts that The New Yorker published Tuesday, yet he declined to pursue the case.

The Manhattan DA’s office has more than 800 investigators on its payroll and took in more than $12 billion from asset forfeiture since 2009. It was more than capable of doing the work that Ronan Farrow did for The New Yorker, but it didn’t.

In a normal election, this kind of two-punch October Surprise would be more enough to sink a candidate. But New York City doesn’t have normal elections. Republicans offer largely token opposition in citywide races, and most of the borough-wide races (save for Staten Island) are the same way.

While New York City allows “fusion tickets,” where a candidate runs on the line of more than one party, no third party has taken advantage of this recently to mount a credible challenge to Democratic rule.

This is the result: A district attorney faces serious questions about his ethics and his prosecutorial decisions, in a case that’s getting massive attention in the news cycle, yet he has little fear of it costing him his job at the ballot box in a few weeks.

The protesters complained about neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other social justice issues.

An environmentalist activist convicted of sabotaging oil pipelines in 2016 now claims he is having second thoughts about using the necessity defense to justify his crimes.

Michael Foster, who was convicted earlier this month of criminal mischief after damaging the Keystone XL Pipeline, now claims that he might “honor the judge and the jury and their verdict” rather than appealing the conviction. The antic was probably a waste of time, he now claims.

“It’s been a year, and pollution is worse today than the day I turned the Keystone valve shut,” Foster, who faces up to 21 years in prison for his actions, told reporters Tuesday. “Based on that alone, I wonder how effective it was. If people don’t respond quickly (to climate change), it won’t matter.”

A journal retracted an essay defending colonialism on the Saturday before Columbus Day, alleging that the journal’s editor had received a threat.

Taylor & Francis, publisher of Third World Quarterly, withdrew “The Case for Colonialism” because of “serious and credible threats of personal violence” to journal editor Shahid Qatir, reported The Chronicle of Higher Education. Bruce Gilley, the Portland State University political science professor who authored the piece, had asked for its withdrawal.

He’ll still be tagged as a Bad White Person forevermore.

If you haven’t yet heard of “feminist economics,” get ready, because liberal economists, policy organizations, and activist groups are pushing the concept as the next battleground for women’s rights.

Because condemning catcalling and “toxic masculinity” in cultural terms isn’t enough, they’re now targeting government policies and institutions they contend are oppressive and discriminatory toward women.

In order to level the playing field, feminist economists are calling for a massive expansion in government benefits, from universal child care to universal health care plans that cover abortion, birth control, sterilization, fertility, and surrogacy.

Have a tattoo? If the answer is “yes,” it’s more likely you’re unemployed or completely out of the labor force. On average, your income is lower. You’re more probably a smoker, use illegal drugs, engage in risky sexual behavior, have been a victim of crime, and have been incarcerated for committing crime yourself.

People – both males and females – with tats are less educated, have lower grade point averages, have limited vocabularies, suffer depression more frequently, are not as well groomed and – in the case of females – not as good looking.

All of this is detailed in two studies (the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health and the Australian Study of Health and Relationships) which collected information on tattoos. Unfortunately, the studies only included a yes or no question regarding having one or more tattoos, and didn’t differentiate between having one discrete tattoo from being covered from head to foot with tattoos glorifying demons, racism, sexism, violence, hatred and so forth.

But, the important question is, do people become losers because they get inked, or do they get inked because they’re losers. Which came first? The tattoo or being a loser?

Yesterday, October 5, after Rush read my article on his show, I made a video that included my reaction to him talking about it on the air. It wasn’t up for three hours before my videos started getting the dreaded yellow dollar signs — which means YouTube just took away my ability to be paid for them. YouTube made sure that whatever bump in subscribers or views I got from Rush would not benefit me in any way.

YouTube is owned by Google, whose motto is famously ‘Don’t Be Evil”.

But apparently not “Don’t Be Political”. If it doesn’t bother you that the people controlling our Internet infrastructure are rabid Social Justice Warriors, it ought to.

Experts say the traveling panhandlers are Roma, sometimes called gyspies – an widely-used term based on a misconception that the Roma originated in Egypt (they originated in northern India) and a label increasingly seen as perjorative.

They weren’t too eager to talk to us. “How long do you stay on the train? How many hours?” we asked one mother. “I don’t know because it’s first time,” she said.

The Kleenex crew, as we soon were calling the other group, were chattier once they learned our producer spoke Italian. One man told us he rides the rails every day, from 9 a.m. to 7 or 8 p.m. He said he was also from Romania and lives in Hayward.

Hayward was also the home of another Kleenex panhandler. She told us she works the trains seven days a week and makes $50 to $100 a day.

“They come on to BART because it’s a target-rich environment,” said BART Deputy Police Chief Ed Alvarez.

While BART is well aware of the panhandling groups, “It’s a First Amendment protected right to panhandle,” said Alvarez.

Panhandling may be legal, but where is the money going?

It turns out the Kleenex crew isn’t as destitute as their “help me” notes would make it seem. On several different nights we recognized half a dozen of them loading into a couple of Audis, a Mercedes and a Kia and counting their haul for the day.

A former Canadian ambassador to the U.S. says this week’s cancellation of the Energy East pipeline is a huge win for President Donald Trump’s administration.

Frank McKenna told CTV’s “Question Period” Saturday that the cancelled pipeline will keep oil-rich Alberta dependent upon shipping petroleum to U.S. markets.

“We see this as a huge win for Donald Trump and the United States of America. They get continued access to Canadian gas and oil for decades to come at deeply discounted prices,” he said. As a former premier of the Atlantic province of New Brunswick, where the pipeline was slated to pass, McKenna said the cancellation means at least 3,000 jobs potential jobs to build the project have now vanished.

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall is blaming Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for the loss because new climate change criteria had recently been added to an already overly-bureaucratic review process.

One of the more popular ways for people, with modest talents, to gain public attention is to be edgy. The best examples of this are the pop stars who have modest musical ability, but are willing to degrade themselves on stage, well beyond what is common. Comics used to play the edgy card, by dropping the F-bomb in their act or making increasingly bawdy sexual references. The game is to set yourself apart from the other mediocrities by saying and doing outlandish things. That way, the public pays attention to you instead of others.

Paul Rahe points out some inconvenient truth.

Black lives ought to matter; and, in my opinion, they once did. They once mattered a great deal. Not long after he became mayor in New York City, Rudy Giuliani introduced a new method of policing that concentrated resources where there was a plethora of crime. It resulted in a dramatic decline in the murder rate, and Newt Gingrich and Bill Clinton took notice and poured federal money into similar policing reforms. African-Americans living in rough neighborhoods were the intended beneficiaries, and they benefited a great deal.

But those days are long gone, and I do not believe that black lives much matter now. They did not matter to Barack Obama, Eric Holder, the members of the Congressional Black Caucus, the white radical who passed as black and founded Black Lives Matter, and to George Soros who funded the outfit. These folks were perfectly prepared to do a number on America’s African-American community and to put their lives at greater risk for the purpose of mobilizing them as a political force.
