Ali Watkins, the journalist who did some of her best reporting in bed, has been “demoted,” not fired, by the New York Times. The Times announced that Watkins will be exiled from the paper’s Washington D.C. to . . .New York City.

Watkins had a romantic relationship with James Wolfe, the former head of security for the Senate Intelligence Committee. Wolfe was indicted last month for making false statements to the FBI about his contacts with Watkins. The FBI was investigating leaks from the Intelligence Committee.

As security chief for that committee, Wolfe was privy to plenty of newsy secrets. Watkins, who is now 26 years old, shot up the journalism chain-of-being by breaking big news stories about the Intelligence Committee during the time she was romantically involved with Wolfe. The FBI wanted to know whether Watkins’ knowledge of those secrets came from Wolfe. It seems obvious that at least some of them did.

Prediction: Nobody will get fired, nobody will go to jail.

Monday on FNC’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, a former liberal who started a campaign to help disenfranchised liberals leave the Democratic Party appeared as a special guest. Brandon Straka was a member of the Democratic Party, voting for Hillary in 2016. However, Staka explained that even before the election he started to have some misgivings about the direction the left was taking. He disagreed with the focus on identity politics, as well as political correctness.

Police say 30-year-old Timmy Kinner of Los Angeles, Calif. has been booked at the Ada County jail on nine charges of aggravated battery and six charges of injury to a child – all felonies. A motive hasn’t been released.

Kinner had been living at the apartment complex until he was asked to leave Friday, authorities say. It’s unclear how long he may have been in Idaho.

In 2011, a group of University of Wyoming students created a Facebook group called “UW Crushes,” where they shared anonymous declarations of attraction to one another. The police were called to investigate when one anonymous poster wrote: “I want to hatef–k Meg Lanker Simons so hard That chick runs her liberal mouth all the time and doesn’t care who knows it. I think its [sic] hot and it makes me angry. One night with me and shes [sic] gonna be a good Republican bitch.” Students who were members of the group asked the group’s administrators to remove the post. But Lanker Simons objected: “Actually, I want this to stay up. This is disgusting, misogynistic, and apparently something the admins of this page think is a perfectly acceptable sentiment.” She continued: “Even if it is taken down, I’m left to wonder if there’s someone out there with a violent fantasy about me—and likely other women.” Police later determined that the post was a hoax and that the threat had been written by Meg Lanker Simons herself. Before the police arrived at this conclusion, a rally against “rape culture” had been held at the university.
