Jack Miles, a Pulitzer Prize and MacArthur “genius” award-winning author, was a contributor to the University of California’s “Bending the Curve” report on climate stability. His forthcoming book is “God in the Koran” (Alfred A. Knopf 2018).
So what we have here is your basic Child of the Crust.
According to former U.N. climate chief Christiana Figueres, we have only three years left in which to “bend the emissions curve downward” and forestall a terrifying cascade of climate-related catastrophes, much worse than what we’re already experiencing.
These are the famous ‘well, we’ll just fudge the figures until they support our panic attack’ guys.
Realistically, is there anything that you or I can do as individuals to make a significant difference in the short time remaining?
Yeah — don’t believe the bullshit that comes out of the U.N. or any of its transnational catamites.
The answer is yes, and the good news is it won’t cost us a penny. It will actually save us money, and we won’t have to leave home to do it. Staying home, in fact, is the essence of making a big difference in a big hurry. That’s because nothing that we do pumps carbon dioxide into the atmosphere faster than air travel. Cancel a couple long flights, and you can halve your carbon footprint. Schedule a couple, and you can double or triple it.
I’m on it. Ball’s in your court, AlGore.

Even though few political campaigns are underway this year, the gubernatorial contests in New Jersey and Virginia have drawn the attention of the All Things Considered program on the liberal, taxpayer-funded National Public Radio network.
Host Ari Shapiro began a segment on Tuesday, October 31, by stating: “The Republican candidates in both of these states have released attack ads claiming the Democratic opponents would not enforce immigration laws and would endanger people living in those states.”
He introduced a report from Joe Hernandez of Philadelphia member station WHYY, but NPR completely skipped over the controversial immigration ad made by Democrats — the now-withdrawn Latino Victory Fund ad where minority kids were running away from a white brute in a pickup truck with a Confederate flag and a Gillespie bumper sticker.

Just like clockwork, following Tuesday’s ISIS-inspired terrorist attack in New York City, the liberal media quickly painted American Muslims as the real victims. In a story published on NBCNews.com just hours after a jihadist used a rental truck to kill eight people and injured eleven others in lower Manhattan, reporter Chris Fuchs warned: “In the wake of Tuesday’s attack, some Muslim Americans and community leaders expressed concerns over how their religion would be perceived and whether Muslims would become targets of violence.”
You’d think that there was no connection between ‘Muslims’ and the people doing the attacks.
If American Muslims get tired of Waiting For Backlash, perhaps they might take steps to police their own communities and weed out the nutcases.

Donald Trump Jr. tweeted a photo of his daughter, Chloe, with the caption, “I’m going to take half of Chloe’s candy tonight and give it to some kid who sat at home. It’s never to early to teach her about socialism.” Socialist Hollywood was quick to jump on this statement, retweeting the child’s picture and the caption with their own views. Amber Tamblyn, the actress who declared war on conservatives, called the picture and the caption “whiteness,” saying that “it’s beyond commentary on socialism. It’s a viewpoint only extreme privilege can afford.”

Steve Sailer lets the daylight in on magic.
The big problem we all live with in the American K-12 educational system is that we are running out of white children. As we all know, white children are magic. Just by assigning them to classrooms we can solve the problems that the nonwhite children bring to those classrooms. But we don’t have enough white children to go around anymore to solve everybody else’s problems.
And white women are all having abortions so the situation won’t improve any time soon.
Is puzzle. Perhaps we’ll have to start importing white kids from Europe or something. Maybe we could make a deal for some Swedes or something.

Adolf Hitler only decided to join the Nazi party after being snubbed by another far-right party, a prominent historian has discovered.
Thomas Weber, a historian based at Aberdeen University, said if Hitler had not been rejected from the newly established German Socialist party, it is unlikely there would have been a world war or Nazi Germany’s mass murder of six million Jews.
Dr Weber, who has been researching the Nazi leader for more than ten years, unearthed an unpublished document which reveals that the German Socialist party told Hitler in 1919 that they did not want him in their party or to write for their paper.
Only a newspaper could call the German Socialist Party ‘far-right’. Truly, these people have no brains.

Whataboutism (also known as whataboutery) is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent’s position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument, which is particularly associated with Soviet and Russian propaganda. When criticisms were leveled at the Soviet Union, the Soviet response would be “What about…” followed by an event in the Western world.
The term “whataboutery” has been used in British English since the period of The Troubles conflict in Northern Ireland. Lexicographers date the first appearance of the variant whataboutism to the 1990s,[ while other historians state that during the Cold War Western officials referred to the Soviet propaganda strategy by that term. The tactic saw a resurgence in post-Soviet Russia, relating to human rights violations committed by, and criticisms of, the Russian government. The technique received new attention during Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea and military intervention in Ukraine. Usage of the tactic extended to Russian President Vladimir Putin and his spokesman, Dmitry Peskov.
Needless today, this is endemic on the Left.

A writer for The Atlantic ventures into the Dark Continent (non-coastal America).
Hale, who is 65 and lives in San Francisco, is a career activist who got her start protesting nuclear plants and nuclear testing in the 1970s. In 2005, she was one of the founders of Third Way, a center-left think tank, and it was in that capacity that she and four colleagues had journeyed from both coasts to the town of Viroqua, Wisconsin, as part of a post-election listening tour. They had come on a well-meaning mission: to better understand their fellow Americans, whose political behavior in the last election had left them confused and distressed.
…
Third Way’s researchers are far from the only Americans inspired to undertake anthropological journeys in the past year. Nearly a year after Donald Trump’s election shocked the prognosticators, ivory-tower types are still sifting through the wreckage. Group after group of befuddled elites has crisscrossed America to poke and prod and try to figure out what they missed—“Margaret Meads among the Samoans,” one prominent strategist remarked to me.
