What goes unstated, however, is the subtext of that yearning. All the florid remembrances are packed with fondness for a bygone institution known as the Establishment, hardened in the cold of New England boarding schools, acculturated by the late-night rituals of Skull and Bones, sent off to the world with a sense of noblesse oblige. For more than a century, this Establishment resided at the top of the American caste system. Now it is gone, and apparently people wish it weren’t.

The Estrogen Post does what it does best, vix. vapors.
Swastikas have been in existence for thousands of years; a variation of the symbol became a ubiquitous feature of Nazi symbolism and an emblem of Aryan race identity, racism, and anti-Semitism. However, the symbol has far more positive messaging in many ancient religions from the cultures of Eurasia, standing for things like divinity and spirituality. Prior to the Nazis appropriating the symbol in the 1930s, it long meant “good luck” in the Western world.
It’s for this reason that Google Maps allowed users to search “points of interest” via the swastika icon. Google told HuffPost that the image seen on users’ Maps app is “not a swastika” but rather a “Buddhist symbol of worship.”
Well, yeah, it is a swastika, just one that rotates in the opposite direction from the one the Nazis used.
Despite their being used as religious icons, Google said that the symbols are being used incorrectly in some places.
I would be interesting in finding out what ‘Google’ (actually, the support people who made this statement) believes is an ‘incorrect use’.
It is an unfortunate fact that people have discovered that SJWs such as those who work for the Estrogen Post will wildly overreact whenever they encounter stuff they consider Politically Incorrect, and the more adolescent among us are beginning to amuse themselves by using such stuff to trigger entertaining reactions on the part of the overly sensitive. SJWs have demonstrated rather consistently that they don’t cope well with such behavior.

There’s a certain type of black public intellectual who is becoming increasingly common. A leftist identitarian, as it were, his constant subject is racism—namely, what he believes to be the ongoing systemic white oppression of blacks.
His justification for this belief, however, is quite facile. He references group differences (or inequalities) and the past slavery and other past mistreatments of blacks, as if these things by themselves suffice to prove his case. They don’t—not even close.
What is more, for all his indignation and high-toned words, in many instances, it’s plainly he himself who is the racist. What really bothers this hypocrite, his reasoning reveals, is not racial injustice, but lack of black dominance. He is motivated by envy, not righteousness. He wants power, not equality.

Nationalism is a hot topic right now on the American right. All of the pointy-headed conservatives are penning thoughtful essays on the subject, reflecting on why and how we should love our country. At first glance, this might seem like a strange controversy, since patriotic fervor has always been fairly fashionable among conservatives. It’s a burning issue now, though, because some hope to replace the semi-defunct body of thought that we used to call “conservatism” with an energetic and robust nationalism.
(a) There is no such thing as ‘conservatism’ as the author of this piece uses the term. There is no political platform that everyone who considers himself (or herself) ‘conservative’ agrees on and universally supports, ‘semi-defunct’ or not. So the ‘conservatism’ being discussed is a figment of the author’s imagination.
(b) There has never been anyone arguably described as ‘conservative’ who was not a ‘nationalist’ in some sense. But what sense ‘nationalism’ is a component of ‘conservatism’ is not discussed; the author just talks about ‘nationalism’ as if it were one unitary concept that everybody knows and agrees on.
(c) Nationalism in some form has always been a part of the past of ‘conservatism’, so it’s not difficult to imagine that it will serve some role in its future. But to label it ‘the future of conservatism’ suggests a simple-mindedness concerning which the author ought to feel some embarrassment, and maybe do a reality check with one of the ‘pointy-headed conservatives’ she disparages.

For me, the Twitter turning point came when the company denied that it shadow-bans conservatives. It then explained what it does do, which corresponds precisely to the definition of shadow-banning. Like other Silicon Valley tech giants, Twitter is run by people who think it is their job to help left-wing Democrats win elections. There is no reason why conservatives should support Twitter.

Liberals are preparing for Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris’s possible expulsion from the Senate Judiciary Committee by highlighting she is a black woman.
Findthe ‘black woman’ in this picture.

For reference, this is an actual black woman;

In the event that Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith wins the Mississippi runoff election on Nov. 27, the makeup of the Senate Judiciary Committee will shift in favor of the GOP, with a seat currently held by a Democrat flipping red. Consequently, Harris, the most junior Democratic member of the committee, will likely be squeezed out.
So it’s an entirely mechanical process and there’s no racism involved. But, of course, the Zoo has to shout ‘RACISM’ because that’s all they’ve got to say.

This weekend the Star Tribune touts the coming of “diversity” to the business of craft beer. It reads to me like unintended satire. First we have the obligatory passing of the white man. We have the obligatory obsession with race.

I’ll bet you don’t know what ‘orientalism’ is. The author doesn’t, either, but it’s an ‘ism’ so it must be bad. Proglodytes love ‘ism’s, because it gives them a heresy to rail about.
Despite what some have claimed, the video is clearly not an homage to Chinese culture – but instead a racist depiction of the white West’s orientalist perception of Chinese culture.
Whenever a journalist says ‘clearly’ it’s a hand-wave regarding something that isn’t clear at all except to people who have the same delusional view of the world as the writer. The advertisement was clearly a humorous reference to how badly certain Western habits, like pizza, don’t match the way non-Western people live, like eating with chopsticks. The writer, of course, is incompetent to make any judgments about ‘the white West’s orientalist perception of Chinese culture’, because that’s just ‘burn the witch!’ fulmination.

The pragmatism of Kennedy and Kirkpatrick has guided U.S. post World War II foreign policy for 70 years. The only major exceptions were the Carter and Obama years.
Yet the Washington Post, in a hissy fit of an editorial, advances the absurd claim that President Trump, by not scuttling relations with the current Saudi regime over the slaying of one regime opponent, has “undermin[ed] the basic understanding that has worked to the United States’ advantage since World War II under presidents both Republican and Democratic.” Because Trump hasn’t insisted on accountability for those who planned and committed the murder of the Post’s man Jamal Khashoggi, the editors warn that “U.S. standing in the world — and, therefore, U.S. influence and prosperity — will dwindle.”

Notice how the ‘mainstream media’ (a) always take a side in such cases and (b) always take the side of the striking workers, never that of the management. What are the odds that the management is always wrong in every strike? Well, if you’re a proglodyte, it’s 100%.
The dirty little secret about strikes is that any employee who doesn’t like the pay or working conditions is free to quit and go work somewhere else. What a strike says is ‘We don’t like the way you run your business and we are somehow entitled to force you to do it our way instead’. This is derived from the proglodyte notion that everybody is entitled to a job and it is the function of businesses to provide those jobs, ‘good’ jobs, regardless of whether they can actually afford to do so.
