A federal district court in Kentucky issued a decision Thursday blocking the Biden administration’s attempt to change the meaning of “sex” in Title IX to include “gender identity.”

The Department of Education under the Biden-Harris administration issued new rules reinterpreting Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, a law that bars discrimination on the basis of sex in education.

Just weeks before five wildfires engulfed the City of Angels, Los Angeles fire chief Kristin Crowley warned that Mayor Karen Bass’s (D.) budget cuts to her department “severely limited” its response to wide-scale emergencies—including wildfires.

In a memo dated Dec. 4, Crowley wrote that Bass’s $7 million reduction to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s overtime budget “severely limited the department’s ability to prepare for, train for, and respond to large-scale emergencies, including wildfires, earthquakes, hazardous material incidents, and large public events.” All told Bass cut more than $17 million from the fire department this year, according to the enacted budget, although she initially proposed slashing nearly $23 million.

“These budgetary reductions have adversely affected the Department’s ability to maintain core operations,” such as training and fire prevention, Crowley wrote in her memo to the Board of Fire Commissioners, which is comprised of mayoral appointees. “Specialized programs and resources, such as Air Operations, Tactical EMS Units, Disaster Response, and Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), which rely heavily on [overtime], are now at risk of reduced effectiveness.”

A major California city is suing the state over its sanctuary law, arguing that it violates the Constitution and prevents local officials from protecting their community.

The City of Huntington Beach filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against SB 54, otherwise known as the California Values Act, which dramatically restricts how local and state law enforcement can cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The lawsuit argues that the policy not only violates the Constitution, but also directs city officials to violate federal immigration laws.

“We are fighting the Sanctuary State Law because it obstructs our ability to fully enforce the law and keep our community safe,” Huntington Beach Mayor Pat Burns said in a public statement. “When the stakes are currently so high, with reports of increases in human trafficking, increases in foreign gangs taking over apartment buildings in the U.S., killing, raping, and committing other violent crimes against our citizens, we need every possible resource available to fight crime, including federal resources.”

The two Democratic senators representing Laken Riley’s home state of Georgia remain noncommittal on legislation bearing her name nearly a year after she was murdered by an illegal migrant.

The Senate is slated to hold a procedural vote on the Laken Riley Act, legislation that requires Immigration and Customs Enforcement and local law enforcement to detain illegal migrants who commit theft-related crimes, as early as Friday. Most Senate Democrats, including Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock of Georgia, have refrained from supporting the bill, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s multiple inquiries to every Democratic lawmaker on whether they back the Laken Riley Act’s passage.

The Laken Riley Act is named in honor of the 22-year-old University of Georgia nursing student who was murdered by an illegal migrant while out on a run near her college campus in February 2024. The legislation is notably backed by members of Riley’s family and is sponsored by the entire Senate Republican conference as well as Democratic Sens. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania and Ruben Gallego of Arizona.

Ossoff and Warnock have notably refrained from expressing support for the bill despite Riley previously being one of their constituents.

Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue may have raked in millions through fraudulent donations, according to the testimonies of elderly Americans who said federal election records do not reflect their giving.

Eighteen registered Democrats in Connecticut, all over the age of 70, appear to have donated $1.9 million to Democratic causes, including ActBlue, through hundreds of thousands of small donations from 2016 to 2024, according to a review of Federal Election Commission filings by Dominic Rapini, cybersecurity company CEO and a former Connecticut Republican candidate for office.

Curious about the donation patterns, Rapini tracked down some of the Connecticut residents and asked them if they really did make thousands of small donations, sometimes multiple in a day, through ActBlue.

Democrat governors and attorneys general in California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York declared their intentions to challenge Trump’s efforts on multiple fronts, from enforcing immigration laws to protecting minors from so-called transgender treatments.

Governing magazine noted, “We might well see the most direct confrontation between federal and state power since the 1963 crisis when President John F. Kennedy’s deputy attorney general, Nicholas Katzenbach, challenged Gov. George Wallace over desegregating the University of Alabama.”

But on Saturday, Mr. Biden will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to 19 Americans, including some of the brightest lights of the old guard that Mr. Trump wants to tear down. In doing so, the 82-year-old outgoing president is sending an unmistakable message of support for a democratic order he has said is threatened by Mr. Trump’s re-election.

Among those receiving the award are Hillary Clinton, the former first lady, senator and secretary of state whom Mr. Trump threatened to jail; Robert F. Kennedy, the assassinated senator whose son has embraced Mr. Trump; and George Romney, the late father of Senator Mitt Romney, the Republican from Utah who repeatedly rejected Mr. Trump’s actions and philosophy.

As many presidents have done with the Medal of Freedom, Mr. Biden also will honor some of his party’s most prolific fund-raisers, including the man who looms largest of all among Democratic donors — George Soros, the liberal activist billionaire whom Republicans have cast as the party’s evil puppet master.

They also include the magazine editor and cultural figure Anna Wintour, who put the first lady, Jill Biden, on the cover of Vogue twice in the last four years while spurning Melania Trump during her husband’s presidency. Ms. Wintour is one of the leading fund-raisers in the fashion industry, having hosted events for Mr. Biden’s re-election campaign in London and Paris last year.

Within days of its founding in early August, a mysterious company called Save Our Home Planet Action, Inc. managed to get ahold of nearly $2.2 million—funds that it promptly handed over to a collection of major Democratic super PACs.

Corporations can legally contribute to super PACs if the donated funds are earned through regular business activities. But it’s unclear what Save Our Home Planet Action did to earn the nearly $2.2 million it passed onto the Democratic groups after its founding in August through October. The company has neither an online presence nor a file with the Better Business Bureau or any other corporate databases.

Federal Election Commission records show the mysterious company shares an address with Patagonia, the self-proclaimed “activist company” that has committed to donating $100 million every year to combat climate change and uses the “Save Our Home Planet” slogan in the clothing it sells. And California business records show Greg Curtis, a former Patagonia legal officer who now heads the retailer’s parent nonprofit, signed documents on behalf of Save Our Home Planet Action.

Over the last 250 years of American political gamesmanship, both parties have played year-end games into the arms of a new incoming administration. In early 2000, the incoming George Walker Bush team discovered that every keyboard in the White House and other administrative offices was missing the “W” key.

The outgoing Clinton staff had removed all the “W” keys to annoy the new administration after an extremely contentious election.

The damage was small, estimated at $15,000.

But the bigger message here was that when the party that runs the White House changes, the outgoing administration will leave some proverbial “time bombs” for their successors.

While the damaged keyboards were more like a bad joke, what Biden is doing to Trump now is serious business. The outgoing administration has opened the spigots table max to get every penny out the door while they can under the existing budget.

Homeless rates in the U.S. reached record numbers in 2024, due in part to immigrants who entered the country illegally and had trouble finding housing in the nation’s sanctuary cities, according to data released by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Biden administration officials had previously said the site was simply being improved, but nearly all the accountability info from the site was removed and hasn’t returned.

“Federal union executives have taken advantage of the four years under the Biden administration, which adopted a ‘whole of government’ approach towards promoting and entrenching unions in the federal bureaucracy, to attempt to insulate themselves from a second Trump term,” Max Nelsen, a labor policy expert at the Freedom Foundation, told the Center Square.

As the Center Square previously reported, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management has for years updated a website to track unions’ “official time.”

Official time is a practice protected by federal law that allows federal employees to do certain union activities while being paid by the federal government, and therefore, on the taxpayers’ dime.

To make sure that workers and unions do not abuse this provision, the OPM has maintained a public accountability site tracking how that time has been used.

Biden’s administration removed the accountability website with promises to refurbish the online presence of the information.

In 2023, an OPM spokesperson told The Center Square that “previous reports on official time are not currently available because OPM is reorganizing our website to improve navigation and customer experience.”

Now, however, about two years later, the site is still gone. Lawmakers have blasted the OPM for the change.

After Lori Lightfoot was voted out of the mayor’s seat in Chicago after her calamitous tenure, I dearly hoped that the residents of Chicago had come to their senses about progressive mayors and would vote for someone who had some understanding of fiscal responsibility and the role of a big-city mayor.

The DOJ bragged in the press release about the government’s scalp count for its unprecedented prosecution of Jan 6 protesters. “More than 1,424 individuals have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol,” Matthew Graves, the Joe Biden-appointed U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, boasted. The investigation into the four-hour disturbance, Graves warned, is “ongoing.”

Indeed. The DOJ, astonishingly, is on pace to arrest one J6 protester a day this year; Graves has stated his intention to bring the total caseload to at least 2,000 defendants before the statute of limitations expires.

In one of the few times right-leaners weren’t outnumbered on CNN’s Thunderdome (aka CNN NewsNight), on Thursday night, Republican Congressman Mike Lawler (NY) (with back up from CNN commentators Scott Jennings and Coleman Hughes) spelled out the Biden family corruption scheme; only to have host Abby Phillip cut short their conversation with claims she’ll only talk about it if formal charges were brought (despite being reminded that Hunter Biden’s pardon covered the alleged time period).

As they were reacting to a recent tone-deaf and false complaint from President Biden that he supposedly didn’t have much money given how he’d worked in government his whole life, Hughes pointed out that the President had no legs to stand on given his family’s alleged antics.

“I think Biden should not talk about money at all. I think the Biden family’s got away with murder in the sense that – metaphorically, in the sense that they’ve really escaped a lot of close scrutiny over their foreign business deals. Hunter Biden, Jim Biden, et cetera,” he explained.

Far-left columnist Solomon Jones invoked some supreme whataboutism by trying to shift the focus to President-elect Trump. “I’m trying to figure out why we’re talking about corruption, when you’ve got a convicted felon … you’ve got a convicted felon that you’re sitting here defending who’s getting ready to be the president of the United States,” he whined.

Phillip stepped in to scold Hughes that such “speculative” conversations about Democrats would not be happening on her show.

A new study found that Democratic voters are more likely than Republican voters to reduce the amount of time spent with family members over the holidays due to political disagreements.

That’s because Democrats are not only political but ideological, which most Republicans aren’t.

As reported by Breitbart, the survey from the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI), posted on December 13th, determined that “Democratic voters (23%) are nearly five times as likely as Republican voters (5%) to say they will be spending less time with certain family members because of their political views.”

In a statement following the results of the study, PRRI founder and President Robert Jones said that “it may be tense around the Hanukkah and Christmas table. It’s not just that we’re disagreeing about abortion or we’re disagreeing about taxes or even immigration… but we’re disagreeing about a fundamental worldview and about identity.”

Washington State’s unofficial state motto has long been “Al-ki” which means either “bye and bye” or “by and by” in Chinook. The former meaning now seems official as Gov. Democratic National Committee finance member, Lindy Li, told “Piers Morgan Uncensored” on Wednesday that leaving the Democrat Party was like leaving a cult.

Li told Morgan that after she expressed criticism of how Vice President Kamala Harris presidential campaign was spending donor money, among which roughly $2 billion was garnered throughout the duration of the 2024 election, she was ostracized.

“It’s my duty of care to ask, ‘What the hell happened with that money? Why did we spend it? Why did we spend millions of dollars on five-star hotels for campaign staffers? Why did we spend $500,000 essentially bribing Al Sharpton moments before he interviewed Kamala?’ These are legitimate questions, but no, in the cult, you can’t ask questions.”

President Joe Biden’s Department of Education reached an agreement with the University of California system to settle civil rights complaints that alleged widespread discrimination against Jewish students. To do so, the university system agreed to develop voluntary campus “climate surveys” and take other underwhelming measures.

In the agreement, released Friday, university leaders made no admission of wrongdoing. Instead, they agreed to “provide training” to campus police officers and “employees responsible for investigating complaints and other reports of discrimination.” They also agreed to “create a plan to work with respective campuses to develop climate surveys” meant to evaluate “the extent to which students are subjected to or witness discrimination, including harassment, based on actual or perceived race, color, and/or national origin.”

The settlement comes in the wake of shocking scenes that played out at the University of California, Los Angeles, in the spring. Anti-Semitic radicals at the school physically prevented Jews from accessing portions of campus if they didn’t denounce their religious beliefs.

A Maryland woman dubbed the “Black Widow” for murdering two husbands and a boyfriend for insurance money is now free after President Joe Biden commuted her 40-year prison sentence, undercutting the White House’s claim that Biden released only “non-violent” offenders in a clemency bonanza last week.

The Biden-Harris administration approved California’s electric vehicle mandate that will ban the sale of new gas-powered cars over the next decade—a move that impacts 11 other states that agreed to adopt California’s mandate.

The Environmental Protection Agency formally granted California a waiver Wednesday, allowing it to supersede federal vehicle emissions rules with its own, stricter regulations. Under California’s rules, which the state is now empowered to enforce, 35 percent of all model year 2026 cars sold next year must be electric. That share steadily increases every year until 2035 when all new car sales in the state must be electric.

But California’s EV mandate doesn’t just impact the state’s residents. Federal law allows other states to adopt California’s emissions rules that receive a waiver from the EPA. Eleven other states and Washington, D.C.—which are collectively home to 40 percent of all new vehicle registrations—have passed laws adopting California’s electric vehicle mandate.

An investigation into an Omaha drug ring that police suspected of causing at least six overdose deaths “now feels wasted” after President Joe Biden commuted the 15-year prison sentence of one of the operation’s ringleaders, according to the lead investigator on the case.

Among the 1,500 commutations Biden issued last week was the case of Wendy Hechtman, a former journalist who pleaded guilty alongside her husband in 2018 of producing and selling carfentanil, a deadly drug that the federal government calls the “most potent fentanyl analog detected in the United States.” As part of the plea agreement, the Hechtmans acknowledged their drugs “did result in overdoses.”

Chris Perna, a former Omaha police detective who took down the Hechtmans, said investigators suspected that the Hechtman drug ring was linked to at least six overdose deaths in Omaha and nearby Council Bluffs, Iowa. He told the Washington Free Beacon that his department “put their lives at risk during the investigation,” but Biden’s commutation makes all that work “now feel wasted.”

This is one of the funnier and crazier Democrat ploys: Senator Gillibrand (D-NY) wants to change the Constitution by having the National Archivist type the failed feminist Equal Rights Amendment, whose time limit to be ratified was up 42 years ago, into her Official Copy of the United States Constitution. But yesterday the National Archivist, Colleen Shogan, said that No, she wasn’t going to do that, that that’s not the way the Constitution works.

The 2024 election tested the limits of identity politics. Not because Kamala Harris was running as a half-black, half-Indian and full-time accent swapper, code switching her way through a multicultural landscape, only to take a beating from a national multicultural electorate.

Call it identity politics, the rainbow coalition or the minority majority, Democrats had tethered their future to defining oppressed groups and organizing them against an equally artificial majority who were given the choice of standing with the oppressed or preserving their privilege.

Republicans released a report Tuesday reviewing the “failures and politicization” of the now-disbanded House Jan. 6 committee, capping their investigation by recommending a criminal investigation into former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.).

The 128-page interim report forwards many of the claims circulated by the GOP since the committee was organized, complaining the Jan. 6 select committee was improperly constituted and unfairly pinned blame on President-elect Trump.

“Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi’s multimillion-dollar Select Committee was a political weapon with a singular focus to deceive the public into blaming President Trump for the violence on January 6 and to tarnish the legacy of his first Presidency,” the report states.
The report’s conclusion also calls for an FBI investigation into Cheney, accusing her of witness tampering by being in touch with star witness Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House aide.

In a world where Trump can be charged and convicted of a ‘fraud’ that had no victims, charging Cheney would seem a no-brainer. Democrats were the ones who started this whole lawfare business, they can hardly blame anyone when it’s done to them in turn.

Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy (D.) slammed the health care industry’s “immoral system” in response to the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, saying “thousands of people” die every day at the “hands of a health care industry that mostly doesn’t give a s—t about people.”

“What I see happening in this country is a real visceral anger that the outrage at Brian Thompson’s death, or the outrage at the death of any powerful person, isn’t matched by the anger over the thousands of people who die, often anonymous deaths every single day in this country at the hands of a health care industry that mostly doesn’t give a s—t about people and only cares about profits,” Murphy said in an X post over the weekend.

“Ordinary people in this country are not indifferent to the loss of life, but these companies are,” Murphy continued. “The business model of the health care industry is to deny care, necessary medical care to people who need it and force them into bankruptcy or worse let them die in order to grow profit, … that’s an immoral system.”

Let me start by saying I loathe politics. I’ve always been drawn to liberal ideas—individual freedom, protecting the vulnerable, questioning authority, and the fundamental belief that consenting adults should be free to live their lives however they choose as long as they’re not harming others. These aren’t political positions to me; they’re basic human principles. But the game of politics itself repulses me. What I’m about to share isn’t about politics; it’s about our shared reality and how we’ve lost touch with it.

What’s truly mind-numbing to me is how people don’t see what’s happening right in front of them. The media has devolved into nothing more than a propaganda mouthpiece for the establishment, programming people to react rather than think. I’ve experienced this firsthand: When I drew historical comparisons between vaccine mandates and 1933 Germany’s early authoritarian policies, I was instantly labeled an extremist and cancelled by my NYC community. Yet now, these same people casually call everyone at Trump’s MSG rally Nazis. The irony would be funny if it weren’t so tragic.

Disgraced Luzerne County Pennsylvania Judge – Democrat Michael Conahan was convicted of wrongfully sentencing juveniles to prison in exchange for 2.1 million dollars in kickbacks from for-profit detention centers. More than 2500 kids were imprisoned. One committed suicide. In 2011 he was sentenced to 17 1/2 years in prison. It should have been life, IMO. But his sentence was just commuted by Biden.

In the wake of the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, many on the political left have demonstrated a level of moral degeneracy that is, paradoxically, both shocking and entirely unsurprising.

They have exposed certain influential figures among the American media and political elites as incorrigibly depraved. Those are just a few of the nearly 1,500 federal convicts whom President Joe Biden granted clemency on Thursday in what the White House touted as “the largest single-day grant of clemency in modern history.”

The White House framed the move as part of Biden’s “record of criminal justice reform to help reunite families, strengthen communities, and reintegrate individuals back into society,” touting clemency awarded to a “decorated military veteran” who helps fellow church members, and a nurse who “spearheaded vaccination efforts.” Biden has faced intense pressure to issue mass clemencies after pardoning his son, Hunter—who faced sentencing for felony gun charges and tax evasion—of any federal crime he may have committed in more than a decade.

The Department of Justice quietly weighed in on litigation pending before the Supreme Court this week, siding with liberal cities and states that are seeking to force the nation’s largest oil companies to pay billions of dollars in damages for global warming.

Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar filed briefs this week in two related cases: one brought by Honolulu officials in 2020 and another filed by Alabama and 18 other GOP-led states that are asking the court to block litigation against oil companies in California, Connecticut, Minnesota, New Jersey, and Rhode Island.

In the Honolulu case, the solicitor general urged the Supreme Court to reject the fossil fuel defendants’ request for the court to “review and clarify” whether state law is able to impose the costs of global climate change “on a subset of the world’s energy producers.” And in the Alabama case, Prelogar wrote that the Supreme Court should allow Democratic states to pursue their individual lawsuits against the various companies.

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) blasted the “vile” health care system in response to the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, saying the public’s “visceral” reaction “should be a warning” to everyone in the industry.

“The visceral response from people across this country who feel cheated, ripped off, and threatened by the vile practices of their insurance companies should be a warning to everyone in the health care system,” Warren told HuffPost when asked about the numerous posts on social media celebrating Thompson’s death.

“This is a warning that if you push people hard enough, they lose faith in the ability of their government to make change, lose faith in the ability of the people who are providing the health care to make change, and start to take matters into their own hands in ways that will ultimately be a threat to everyone,” Warren added.

Senator Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) also condemned the health care system in response to Thompson’s death.

Republicans are expected to rescind the Biden administration’s contentious nursing home staffing rule before it is set to take effect.

The move would come as a relief for the nursing home industry, which has argued the mandate doesn’t appropriately address current workforce challenges. Florida state Rep. Susan Valdes switched her party registration from Democrat to Republican on Monday, bolstering the GOP’s largest-ever majority in the House, The Tampa Bay Times reported.

“In the House, I have long known that no one has a monopoly on good ideas,” Valdes wrote in a statement posted on X. “I will not waste my final two years in the Florida Legislature being ignored in a caucus whose leadership expects me to ignore the needs of my community.”

A former Hillsborough County School Board member, Valdes first ran for House as a Democrat in 2018 and was elected to represent District 64, outside of Tampa.
