When travelers go online to find out whether it is legal to fly with cash, the government tells them that there are no restrictions on traveling with any amount of money on domestic flights. What it does not tell flyers is that, upon seeing cash, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screeners will detain them and turn them over to law enforcement, who will take their money without any cause for suspicion and without filing any criminal charges. Now, a Fourth Amendment, class action lawsuit filed by the Institute for Justice (IJ) to end these unconstitutional practices by the TSA and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will move forward in federal court after a judge rejected the government’s motion to dismiss.

For decades, the EPA relied on unreviewable studies to impose draconian restrictions on businesses and industries, and thus on the U.S. economy. Trump wanted to bring true transparency to the process. Opponents claimed the Trump secret science” rule would block the use of critical public health studies kept secret supposedly to protect the identities of trial participants – which of course was not the case.

When we think of corrupt American cities, Chicago always tops the list. However, San Francisco has long had one of the more corrupt American civic governments. However, because the City was still better managed than Chicago, nobody really commented on that fact. A Twitter thread about the City’s “stupidvisors” (as I’ve always called them), turning down free internet access highlights just how corrupt they are.

More than 1,300 schools have become “test optional,” meaning students need not submit SAT scores. Some, like the entire University of California system, now won’t even look at scores.
There are seemingly legitimate reasons to oppose the tests. Richer kids often get tutoring that gives them an advantage.
Critics claim the tests are culturally biased and say that’s why Blacks and Latinos don’t score as well. But that doesn’t explain why Asians do so well. In fact, Asians get the best SAT scores.
I assume it’s more about culture and parenting. Kids raised in front of the TV do poorly. Those encouraged to read do better. Kids who spend time talking to adults do better.

Here’s a question. If there is no border crisis, why is Joe Biden’s Department of HHS inviting federal employees in departments having nothing to do with immigration or health to travel to the border and provide assistance?
Here’s another question: Isn’t the Biden administration inviting a misappropriation of federal funds?
And finally: What are such federal employees from random agencies supposed to do when they get to the border?

Democrats want to build more transit infrastructure in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The only problem is that transit emits as much or more greenhouse gases, per passenger mile, as the average car. In fact, transit is less climate friendly than driving in all but a handful of cities.

Congressional hearings are supposedly held to investigate public policy issues so well-meaning legislators can apply facts and reason to forming evidence-based and constitutional solutions. This is the reason that courts judging the validity of legislative enactments typically give broad deference to the judgments of lawmakers on matters of both constitutionality and fact.

While casual observers might have been impressed with the credentialed and well-spoken witnesses, knowledgeable followers of the gun issue endured what was immediately recognizable as a steady stream of predetermined, focused-tested talking points that served more to misdirect than to enlighten.

American sailors swear an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, “foreign and domestic.” We ask them to put their lives on the line to protect their country. Recommending that sailors read books that trash the Constitution and denounce the country as irredeemably racist is not just absurd — it’s downright dangerous.
Yet, this is exactly what the Navy’s Professional Reading Program (CNO-PRP) is doing. Its reading list includes several books that insist American society is deeply compromised, not worth defending and in need of wholesale change. Naturally, not everyone in Washington feels this is a message well calculated to bolster service to our country. But the Navy, so far, is resisting congressional calls to reconsider its list.

If House Democrats get serious about contesting a tight House election in Iowa, they will have a slush fund at their disposal.

Michigan Republicans have begun working on a plan to change the state’s voting laws following their losses in the 2020 election without having to work with Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, The Detroit News reports.
Michigan GOP chairman Ron Weiser reportedly told the North Oakland Republican Club on Thursday that the party is looking to group together a number of bills that have been proposed in the House and Senate in a petition initiative, which, if it gathered at least 340,000 signatures, could be approved by the Republican-controlled state Legislature without Whitmer having the chance to issue a veto.

Retail giant Amazon is publicly clashing with senators in what Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) described as “snotty tweets.”
After Warren tweeted her frustration at the amount Amazon pays in taxes, the company’s official news account responded, “You make the tax laws @SenatorWarren, we just follow them.” Warren answered that she would “fight to break up Big Tech so you’re not powerful enough to heckle senators with snotty tweets.”
I hate to have to say it, but ‘snotty tweets’ are what the First Amendment is all about.

A constellation of dark money groups is pushing U.S. District Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to the D.C. Court of Appeals with an eye to elevating her to the Supreme Court.
President Joe Biden is expected to nominate Jackson to replace Attorney General Merrick Garland on the D.C. circuit, NBC News reports. Liberal activist group Demand Justice has come out in support of Jackson, who is on the group’s Supreme Court “shortlist.” Demand Justice created the list explicitly to influence Biden’s judicial appointments.

The trouble with ‘gun control laws’ is that they don’t control guns — people who ignore laws wind up with guns, and the people who might need them for defending themselves from the people who ignore laws wind up without.

Apple has been accused of doing some kind of backroom deal to prevent a vote on an Arizona App Store bill that was scheduled to happen yesterday. The vote failed to happen, despite being listed as the first item on yesterday’s Arizona State Senate agenda.
Had the bill passed, it would have made it legal in the state for developers to bypass the app stores of both Apple and Google.
