Two political commentators teamed up this week to rent a Times Square billboard exposing Washington Post journalist Taylor Lorenz for a report in which she revealed personal information about the Twitter user who runs the Libs of TikTok account.
Commentator and podcast host Tim Pool on Tuesday tweeted a video of the billboard, which reads, “Hey [Washington Post], democracy dies in darkness. That’s why we’re shining a light on you. Taylor Lorenz doxxed @libsoftiktok.”
The biter bit, so to speak.

A French politician who wants to prioritize housing for French residents, as opposed to Middle Eastern immigrants and refugees, is considered extreme right. But a Canadian politician who proposes to ban purchases of homes by foreigners is considered a liberal.
What’s the difference? Mainly that Canada has approved the ban while polls show that the “extreme right” candidate is likely to lose. I guess if you call yourself a liberal you can get away with a lot that leads people to demonize conservatives.

“There is little to no evidence that critical race theory itself is being taught to K-12 public school students,” The Associated Press wrote recently.
If that’s true, why would the National Education Association, the nation’s largest teachers union, invest in a campaign to keep the theory in K-12 instruction? That is, how could the union keep critical race theory in classrooms if it wasn’t there in the first place?
The answer is simple: School officials around the country not only are teaching critical race theory’s components, such as “intersectionality,” to K-12 children. They also are applying the theory’s principle that discrimination is appropriate and necessary for school activities in the form of mandatory racial affinity groups. For example, where students are separated by skin color for different school functions.

ProPublica, the left-wing journalism nonprofit bankrolled by billionaires, appears to have violated its ethics policy when it hosted an event last week sponsored by the white-shoe consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
ProPublica says it does not “accept sponsorship of news applications, series, or other targeted sections of our website from any participant in the industry or sector covered within that section of the site.” Yet the April 12 event—”The Billionaire Playbook,” an evening chat with reporters about how the world’s richest people ostensibly evade taxes—was sponsored by McKinsey, a firm that provides many of these people with corporate consulting and has been the subject of many ProPublica reports.

Our local paper had a news story today about an interesting lawsuit filed against Coastal Carolina University by a former employee. Erika Pomerantz (in white jacket at right) is a psychologist who worked in CCU’s counseling department since 2017. Then, in 2019, she alleges that the university hired a less qualified, less experienced counselor and paid her a higher salary than Ms. Pomerantz. Things started to get complicated when she complained to her superiors about this.
They informed her that the new hire was African-American, and that Ms. Pomerantz “presented as white”. I presume that her boss was shocked when Ms. Pomerantz didn’t accept this explanation. Ms. Pomerantz pointed out that she was a combination of Asian, Latina, and Jamaican – she was not white, and did not appreciate being treated as such. She filed a complaint of racial discrimination to the university’s human resources department. Soon afterward, she was treated even worse than that.
How long will it be before calling someone ‘white’ will be prosecutable as a Hate Crime!

Now, there may be perfectly sensible reasons why one might prefer Ukrainians over Arabs or Africans — the former know how to use toilet paper, for example, and are far less likely to rape little kids in their host country. And unlike the standard-issue culture-enrichers, they’re probably eager to learn German as soon as possible. Nor will they be inclined to torch churches for being dens of blasphemy against Allah.
But those are aspects of migration that simply may not be publicly discussed in Germany. Diversity is our strength! Anyone who prefers Ukrainians over Somalis is a bigoted xenophobic racist Islamophobe, and probably a homophobe and transphobe to boot.

Glenn Greenwald.
The front-page reporter, Taylor Lorenz, recently ofThe New York Times and now The Washington Post, uses the skills she learned growing up in Old Greenwich, Connecticut and while being educated at Greenwich High School and absolutely lovely boarding schools in the Swiss Alps to express, on NBC News’ Meet the Press Daily, the trauma and victimization she endures from critics of her journalism: journalism which she has often weaponized to destroy the lives of many powerless people including teenagers, on April 1, 2022 (credit: MSNBC)
When Hillary Clinton’s divine entitlement to the U.S. presidency began to look imperiled in 2016 — first due to the irreverent and unkempt (but surprisingly formidable) Democratic Party primary challenge from Bernie Sanders, the independent socialist Senator from Vermont — her campaign and its media allies invented and unveiled a deeply moving morality tale. A faceless horde of unnamed, uncredentialed, unmannered, violent, abusive and deeply misogynistic online Sanders supporters — dubbed with the gender-emphasizing name “Bernie Bros” even though many were women — were berating, insulting and brutalizing Hillary, her top campaign surrogates (U.S. Senators, former cabinet members, corporate executives), and especially pro-Hillary corporate journalists with a vast artillery of traumatizing words and violent tweets.

Meet the new economic wreckers, same as the old economic wreckers. Putin is now being blamed for the shortage of petroleum by the Biden administration. Josef Stalin used the phrase economic wreckers to assign blame for the failure of any number of Five-Year Plans to increase production.
With the stroke of a pen, President Biden’s executive order to kill the Keystone pipeline turned the United States into a nation that has to beg Venezuela, Russia, Saudia Arabia, and Iran to increase their oil production. This decision was a strategic blunder. The Keystone pipeline was not the only project affected; new oil and natural gas production has also been stifled.

Rick Wilson, cofounder of the scandal-plagued Lincoln Project, subtly compared his decision to leave the Republican Party to the courageous actions of Marina Ovsyannikova, the Russian journalist who protested the invasion of Ukraine during a live television broadcast.
“I have a few thoughts [about courage],” Wilson wrote on Twitter, as if speaking from personal experience. “First, it’s very, very hard to walk away from the tribal campfire. You lose friends. You lose work. You lose connection with a culture in which you were at home.”
Wilson’s decision to “walk away from the tribal campfire” of the GOP resulted in immense personal wealth. The Lincoln Project raised almost $100 million from left-wing billionaires and activist groups, among others, during the 2020 election cycle. Investigative reporting from the New York Times suggests Wilson and his fellow cofounders funneled a significant portion of that money to themselves. In 2021, Wilson paid off a $200,000 mortgage and finally settled a $400,000 overdue tax bill.

Amnesty International has been facing criticism since releasing a report last month that accused Israel of waging apartheid against Palestinians and demanded that Israeli officials face prosecution in international courts for these alleged crimes. The report was widely condemned by Israel, leading American-Jewish officials, and members of Congress—all of whom labeled the report as anti-Israel propaganda.
Amnesty International faced a wave of renewed criticism this month when the director of its American branch, Paul O’Brien, who is not Jewish, said that Israel “shouldn’t exist as a Jewish state” during remarks at an event hosted by the Woman’s National Democratic Club.
O’Brien’s remarks are anti-Semitic and amount to “Jew-hatred, plain and simple,” according to the Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), an advocacy group that represents leading Orthodox rabbis.
Took ’em long enough.
