The woman who helped organize the invasion of a St. Paul, Minnesota, church in the middle of service last month now faces an ethics complaint that may cost her the ability to practice law in the state.
Nekima Levy Armstrong, a former president of the Minneapolis NAACP, has admitted to leading the agitators who invaded Cities Church on Sunday, Jan. 18. Agitators said they targeted the church because one of its pastors also works for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Armstrong faces federal charges for interfering with the First Amendment rights of Christians, and she has pleaded not guilty.
In order to practice law in Minnesota, attorneys must maintain an active license with the Minnesota Lawyer Registration Office and abide by professional standards.
The Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility in Minnesota investigates and prosecutes complaints of unethical conduct by lawyers, and the Center to Advance Security in America filed a complaint against Armstrong last month.
“Nekima Levy Armstrong’s outrageous behavior in leading aggressive activists into a church during worship and potentially committing a federal crime is unacceptable conduct for an attorney,” James Fitzpatrick, the center’s director, told The Daily Signal in a statement Wednesday. “We are hopeful the Minnesota Bar will initiate an investigation based on our complaint and are encouraged to see the Department of Justice investigating the matter.”

Old friends may remember the farce we experienced last May, when outgoing Marshmallow Interior Minister Nancy Faeser pushed her gaggle of goons in the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) to upgrade their political classification of Alternative für Deutschland.
No longer did the BfV consider the national political party to lurk under mere “suspicion of right-wing extremism,” oh no. They announced suddenly and with much establishment fanfare that they had determined the AfD to be “confirmed right-wing extremists.”
Faeser and her goons hoped this new designation would edge the AfD more firmly into Evil Nazi Fascist Hitler territory in the popular mind, thereby preparing the way for banning the party. According to the dumb Gender Studies-tier retards unassailable and unbiased experts of the BfV, the AfD were more definitely Evil, more definitely Nazi, more definitely Fascist and more definitely Hitler than ever before. They had such clear proofs of all the Evil Nazi Fascist Hitlerism lurking within the AfD that they could not even reveal them. Doing so, Faeser said, would compromise the mysterious sources and methods of her highly sophisticated political spy agency. Instead, the Interior Ministry leaked a classified dossier supporting the upgrade to sympathetic media like Der Spiegel, and these media promptly published earnest articles telling us all how absolutely Fascist and Evil and Nazi and Hitler all the secret evidence showed the AfD to be, because trust us bro.

Shortly after meeting with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Xi Jinping in late October, President Donald Trump said China would never attack Taiwan while he is president because Chinese officials “know the consequences.” While support from the United States is welcome news for Taiwan, Trump’s words raise a real question: Does Xi actually know the cost of invading Taiwan?
Much of the analysis of a potential Beijing attempt to seize Taiwan by force has centered on the Chinese military’s capabilities and Taiwan’s defenses, especially if supported by the United States. Many assessments conclude that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is not currently capable of defeating the U.S. military in a direct conflict.
However, analysts still warn of a worst-case scenario in which Xi, seeking to cement his legacy, launches a premature strike. Xi has tied his legitimacy to the “China Dream” of national rejuvenation by 2049 and has framed unifying Taiwan with the mainland as essential to achieving that goal.

In the dark of the night, 10 minutes before President Donald Trump even announced that the U.S. and Israel had attacked Iran, a network of U.S. nonprofits aligned with China, Russia and Tehran activated foot soldiers to hit America’s streets.
Groups funded by Neville Roy Singham, a Shanghai-based, American-born tech tycoon, which regularly parrot messaging from America’s adversaries, swung into action even as the initial bombs were dropping. The nearly instantaneous response was the latest salvo in an information war on the U.S., with foot soldiers called upon to converge in protests and echo anti-U.S. talking points.
At 2:34 a.m. ET, the ANSWER Coalition, a nonprofit project whose leaders self-describe as Marxist and communist, announced: “EMERGENCY NATIONWIDE DAY OF ACTION TODAY, SAT. FEB 28 — STOP THE WAR WITH IRAN!”
If someone tried that in Communist China, of course, they’d be ‘disappeared’ and probably used for spare parts.

At least eight people were killed during pro-Iran protests at the United States consulate in the Pakistan megacity of Karachi on Sunday, a rescue service spokesman told news agency AFP.
“We have moved at least eight bodies to Karachi’s civil hospitals, while 20 others were injured in the consulate incident,” said Muhammad Amin, a spokesman for the Edhi Foundation rescue service, adding most had bullet wounds.
Hundreds of pro-Iranian protesters had tried to storm the consulate following the US-Israel strikes on Iran.
A crowd of young people climbed over the main gate and gained access to the driveway of the consular building, smashing some windows.
Police fired tear gas at the protesters who dispersed.

The Metropolitan Police said Caspar San Giorgio, of no fixed address, was arrested shortly after 4am on Friday.
He was taken into custody and charged with criminal damage just before 4am on Saturday.
Graffiti was daubed on the statue of the former prime minister in Parliament Square in the early hours of Friday morning, branding him a “Zionist war criminal”.
Other phrases including “Stop the Genocide” and “Free Palestine” were sprayed in red paint on the bronze sculpture.

Satellite imagery from Vantor shows what it assesses to be an Iranian Alvand class frigate, one of three seen in port in the photo, billowing dark smoke after being struck as part of the U.S. and Israeli air campaign against the country. It’s also possible it’s another class of ship, but satellite imagery taken the day prior shows an Alvand in that berth. The image is the first confirmation of heavy damage or a loss of an Iranian warship since the strikes began. You can read the latest on the conflict in our live coverage here.
The burning frigate is seen sitting pier-side in Konarak, a port city in Iran’s southeastern corner, that sits along the Gulf of Oman and near the Pakistani border.
The location gives Iran closer access to the Indian Ocean, and it’s also an area known to be a hotbed of drone and missile capabilities, especially the anti-shipping kind, that can be launched from there to reach far out beyond the Gulf of Oman, putting ships at risk in the Indian Ocean.

Pakistan’s military, backed by artillery and air power, struck more military installations deep inside Afghanistan overnight and into early Saturday, after Pakistan said it was in “open war” with its eastern neighbor.
Pakistan claimed more than 300 Afghan forces had been killed since fighting erupted Thursday night during a broad Afghan cross-border attack into Pakistan. Afghanistan rejected the figures as false. The casualty figures provided by either side could not be independently confirmed.
The fighting was in response to Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan last Sunday. Pakistan said it was targeting the outlawed Pakistani Taliban, or TTP. The group is separate but closely allied with Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban. Afghanistan, however, said only civilians were killed in Sunday’s airstrike.

A European Parliament fact-finding mission to the Canary Islands has revealed that around half of migrants who claimed to be unaccompanied minors upon arrival were ultimately determined to be adults.
The Committee on Petitions conducted the visit in September 2025 to assess the impact of illegal immigration on the Spanish archipelago. According to a draft report from earlier this month, prosecutors informed MEPs that “among approximately 1,500 unaccompanied minors whose age was not clear and who were subjected to age-assessment procedures at their arrival to the adult reception centers, around half of them were ultimately determined to be adults.”
…
By Aug. 31, 2025, 201 boats had reached the Canary Islands in that year carrying 12,249 migrants, including 9,955 men, 782 women, 192 minors traveling with parents, and 1,320 unaccompanied minors.
Actual refugees bring their families. Unaccompanied males are an invasion.

Thirty-five years ago, American political scientist Francis Fukuyama made a name for himself by advancing the proposition that the end of the Cold War and the dissolution of the Soviet Union promised the ascendency and universalization of so-called Western liberal democracy. As a Marxist-Hegelian who saw the progression of history as an evolutionary process with a natural and predetermined conclusion, Fukuyama envisioned Western-styled liberalism as both “the endpoint of mankind’s ideological evolution” and “the final form of human government.” Expecting all human struggles to barrel toward a state of imminent equilibrium and future peace, Fukuyama stated out loud what many other late-twentieth century thinkers also believed: Humanity had reached the end of history.
After the 9/11 Islamic terror attacks in the United States, two decades of the “Global War on Terrorism,” communist China’s expansive “Belt and Road Initiative,” immigration-fueled social strife, the collapse of public trust in government institutions, the prevalence of pre-civil war conditions across Europe, the rise of Indian economic power, the emergence of Donald Trump’s nationalism as a counterbalance to the World Economic Forum’s vaunted globalism, the return of the Russian Federation as a major source of European angst, the growth of “multiculturalism” and its attendant fracturing of national unity, the “great powers” competition for hydrocarbon energies and other natural resources, the new geopolitical race to project strength in the Arctic, and the ever-present discussion of an impending World War III — just to name a few of the numerous global conflicts of the first quarter of the present century — Fukuyama’s “end of history” argument has probably reached the end of its usefulness.

For months, callers to the Washington state Department of Licensing who have requested automated service in Spanish have instead heard an AI voice speaking English in a strong Spanish accent. The agency has since apologized and says it fixed the problem.
Washington resident Maya Edwards learned of the AI-accented voice last summer after her Mexican husband tried using the Spanish-language option while seeking information about his driver’s license. He is bilingual but saw that the wait time for speaking to a customer service representative in English was long, so he hit 2 for Spanish.
For Edwards, it was a like a scene out of “ Parks and Recreation,” a mockumentary-style comedy show that satires local government.

The party that won’t stop lecturing America about democracy is once again rigging its own primary by endorsing – thereby biasing voters – towards certain candidates over others. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered the cancellation of members of the military attending some of the country’s top-ranked colleges and universities on Friday, beginning academic year 2026-27, arguing the schools are teaching the “enemy’s wicked ideologies” to service members.
Hegseth, who attended Harvard University for postgraduate studies, said the move would affect institutions like Princeton University, Columbia University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Brown University, Yale University and “others.”
“We demand that senior service colleges work to sharpen our war fighters on genuine national security issues, not social justice activism. We demand curriculums grounded in the founding principles of this republic, principles that champion the enduring ideals of peace through strength and putting American interests first,” Hegseth said in a video posted on social platform X.
“We demand universities that invest back into our nation’s prosperity rather than our greatest adversaries,” the Pentagon chief said in the four-minute clip. “It’s common sense.”
Earlier this month, Hegseth announced the Pentagon would cut all academic ties with Harvard starting in the 2026-27 school year, contending the country’s oldest university is “one of the red-hot centers of hate-America activism.”
The move marks another chapter in Hegseth’s culture war against academia since taking the helm at the Pentagon.

Elaine Godfrey (The Atlantic, a Voice of th Crust).
Right before armed guards escorted me from the rally and left me on the edge of a Texas county road, I was informed that I was no longer welcome at an event that I had already attended. For the past hour, I’d watched as Representative Jasmine Crockett riled up her supporters in deep-red Lubbock, where voters were thrilled to receive a visit from the Democratic Senate candidate. But afterward, as I attempted to join the other reporters interviewing the lawmaker, a woman with a badge approached me.
“Are you Elaine?” she asked. I recognized her from the entrance of the event, where I had identified myself as she’d waved me into the building’s press area. Yes, I answered. “Her team has asked you to leave,” she said. When I asked why, the staffer looked at her phone and read dutifully: “They just said, ‘Elaine from Atlantic, white girl with a hat and notepad. She’s interviewing people in the crowd. She’s a top-notch hater and will spin. She needs to leave.’”
I will, of course, own up to being a white woman wearing a Menards baseball cap. But “top-notch hater” is a distinction that I had never considered for myself. Last year, I wrote a profile of Crockett that displeased the congresswoman. I interviewed her several times for the story, but after she learned that I’d called some of her colleagues in Congress without asking her permission, she told me that she was “shutting down the profile and revoking all permissions.” (In retrospect, I suppose this was a helpful signal that Crockett does not have a firm grasp on the First Amendment, or at least does not particularly care for it.)

The British gay icon Quentin Crisp was transgender, activists have claimed.
Pro-trans campaigners appear to have edited the author and raconteur’s entry on the website Wikipedia to describe him as a “she” throughout.
It has sparked a row with gender-critical gay rights activists, who have lambasted the online encyclopaedia for allowing history to be “rewritten”.
In a 1977 interview, Crisp, who lived his life as an effeminate gay man, said sex was immutable and that he was not a woman, even though he wished he had been one.
However, just before he died at the age of 90, he said he was a “woman trapped in a man’s body” and accepted he was transgender.
He said he knew he was not “physically a woman” and did not ask to be referred to as “she”.

The Loudoun County School District, which has a history of controversy on gender issues, actually investigated the two students for objecting to a female student, who identified as a male, using the locker room at Stone Bridge High School.
The female student also reportedly recorded the male students in the locker room.
As The Daily Signal previously reported, the school district found the two sophomore students responsible for Title IX sexual harassment and discrimination, and suspended them for 10 days.
After the investigation, the students’ families sued the school district to have the finding removed from their sons’ records.

The legendary Jack Bogle was referring to the financial market, but his sentiment also applies to crime statistics: Nobody really knows the actual crime rate — or who’s committing the crimes.
For about 10 years, I did PR for a fintech company that specialized in cybersecurity. You’d think online crimes would be the easiest to verify, but most of the crime stats were manufactured: We’d extrapolate data from Category A and project it to Category B.
They were almost always statistical projections.
Look, if we can’t accurately quantify crime stats in a closed ecosystem like cybersecurity, we don’t have a prayer of tabulating crime rates everywhere else. Too many variables.
This raises the question: What’s the true rate of illegal immigrant crime?
Nobody knows. Too many variables.

Contrary to claims by leftist “fact checkers,” such as Politfact.com, transgender individuals actually commit a disproportionately high share of mass public and active shooting attacks, new analysis by the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) reveals.
Regardless of the data analyzed or estimates of transgender population used, transgenders commit a far higher proportion of mass public and active shootings than their share of the U.S. population would suggest, the CPRC study finds.
In 2024, for example, their share of mass public and active shooting attacks was at least 12 times – and possibly more than 16 times – their share of the population.
Attempts by groups like Politifact to use data to dismiss concerns of transgender violence are based on faulty analysis – because they don’t factor in transgender individuals’ share of the violent attacks in the U.S. relative to their share of the population.

A clinical and forensic psychologist has put forward the extraordinary suggestion that Jeffrey Epstein could still be alive, following her examination of a crucial element within the Epstein files. Published by the Justice Department, the archives contains millions of documents, images, videos, and emails chronicling the activities of the convicted paedophile.
Numerous files also illuminate his connections to public figures, politicians, and celebrities – although nobody named has faced charges or prosecution for any offence. Dr Leslie Dobson, who maintains she’s collaborating directly with the United States Congress on the files, argues that some of the bombshell discoveries represent merely the tip of the iceberg.
“A lot of the names are redacted, so it could have been other people,” she stated, referencing certain emails. Addressing the extensive correspondence to and from Epstein, Leslie continued: “They’re corresponding back and forth and that’s in writing. Imagine what they’re talking about on the phone?”.
Whilst a substantial portion of the files remains heavily redacted, Leslie asserts that she and cyber hackers have succeeded in uncovering some hidden information, reports the Mirror.

The American Mind.
etty Friedan’s The Feminine Mystique, which was published 63 years ago this month, marked the beginning of the modern wave of American feminism. It has contributed perhaps more than any other radical ideology to the dissolution of traditional American culture and social order. This is a good moment to remind ourselves precisely how far out of touch with reality Friedan’s book is, as part of the ongoing effort to reclaim the culture it set out to demolish.
Based on interviews with her former Smith College classmates 15 years after graduating, Friedan’s book describes what she calls “the problem that has no name.” By this she meant a purportedly widespread perception that college-educated women believed their lives were crushingly unfulfilling, a problem that would require a complete re-envisioning of the family and the sexual division of labor to address.
However, among the book’s readers who were eager to accept Friedan’s critical diagnosis, few bothered to look closely enough to see that by her own analysis “the problem that has no name” should have been called “the problem that does not really exist except in the minds of a few discontented radicals like Betty Friedan.” She did not discover a problem—she simply found a way to interpret reality in a way sympathetic to her desires.
Feminism constantly attempts to turn girls into defective men, boys into defective women, and our culture into a sewer.

Taipei should “flood” the Taiwan Strait with drones and other UAV-based defensive systems in readiness for invasion by Chinese forces.
That’s the advice of U.S. think tank the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) in a report published on Thursday, February 27th. “Hellscape for Taiwan” argues that Taipei’s current approach to defense needs to be updated to match the growing strength of Beijing’s People’s Liberation Army. It also echoes Pentagon wargaming for the region, as reported in the summer of 2024.
A “hellscape,” in current military parlance, would result from the saturation of airspace and waters with thousands of drones and equivalent platforms. From here, invading forces could be struck from multiple domains at once. In this instance, Chinese ships and aircraft could lose superiority and incur heavy losses.

Issues such as gender identity, same-sex marriage, media regulation, and freedom of expression are increasingly being decided by judges in Luxembourg rather than by elected national parliaments.

However often I’ve recommended that book over the years, I occasionally feel the need to repeat the recommendation for the simple reason that Sowell demystifies what would otherwise be incomprehensible, i.e., the persistent tendency of the Left to make their own good intentions an argument for supporting policies that are objectively harmful to the very people that liberals claim to be “helping.” Liberals think of themselves as morally and intellectually superior (i.e., “the Anointed”) and regard others as ignorant, at best, if not indeed immoral (“the Benighted,” as Sowell says). Because liberalism is so prevalent in the education system and the media, it is possible for the liberal to go through life with this attitude and never be forced to examine their own belief system.
Great book. Highly recommended.

Near the end of Thursday’s edition of The Lead, host Jake Tapper boosted an election theft conspiracy pushed by The Washington Post, which erroneously claimed President Trump was going to issue an emergency declaration to steal the midterm elections. Tapper even brought on the senior White House reporter to wrote the story, Isaac Arnsdorf to help give the accusations weight. But Republican commentator Shermichael Singleton blew up the accusations with a phone call.
“President Trump could then use that claim [of China election interference] as a basis to declare a national emergency, which then theoretically could open the door for him to exert extraordinary presidential power over the voting process in this year’s midterm elections,” Tapper prefaced as he began to rhetorically pull out the red twine.
After being given the floor to explain what his source told him, Arnsdorf disclosed that the proposal DID NOT come from the White House but rather someone who claimed to have spoken to the White House about it.

A 64 year-old convicted serial child molester was immediately rearrested upon his Elderly Parole Program release in California on Thursday.
National outrage over the parole of David Allen Funston – who had been serving more than three consecutive life sentences since 1999 for convictions on 16 counts of kidnapping and child molestation of eight children between three and seven years old – was quelled Thursday when the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation announced that it had turned Funston over to local law enforcement to face new charges:

Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger deceived voters and concealed her true leftist agenda to win the Governor’s Mansion last year. Now she and her fellow Democrats are lying to Virginians about a new gerrymandered congressional district map they placed on the ballot as a constitutional amendment on April 21.
It’s a naked attempt to make it impossible for Republicans to win election to Congress in most places in Virginia, and it’s why she was rewarded with the plum assignment of responding to President Trump’s State of the Union address this week.
The Virginia Supreme Court has already had one chance to stop the gerrymandering by upholding a judge’s ruling that Democrats cut legal corners to get the measure on the ballot. The justices, however, inexplicably chose to wait until the vote happens.
Democrats lie. It’s what they do.

Some of Iran’s most highly enriched uranium, close to weapons grade, was stored in an underground area of its nuclear site in Isfahan, the U.N. nuclear watchdog said in a confidential report sent to member states on Friday and seen by Reuters.
It is the first time the International Atomic Energy Agency has reported where uranium enriched to up to 60% purity, close to the 90% of weapons grade, has been stored.
The tunnel complex’s entrance was hit in U.S. and Israeli military strikes in June, but the facility seems largely unharmed, diplomats say.

t’s a disturbing commentary on our times when the concept of men and women being required by law to admit their proper biological sex becomes headline news, but here we are.
For the past decade, transgender ideology (with zero basis in scientific reality) has surged to the forefront of our cultural zeitgeist. Never before in the history of the western world has one tiny minority of people received so much privilege and protection from governments and the corporate establishment. Furthermore, this small group of mentally ill people has triggered a political firestorm that is changing the face of the US.
Why did the Democratic Party and so many wealthy and powerful elites choose transgenderism as the hill to die on? Why do they lie and claim there are no differences between men and women? Why do they want to give unhinged men access to women’s bathrooms and locker rooms? Why are they so intent on indoctrinating children with gender fluid propaganda? Why do they want to let little kids mutilate their bodies with sex hormones and surgeries? It’s hard to say.
“If I wish it were true, that makes it true” has been the cornerstone of Democrat policy since FDR. Even using the phrase “sex assigned at birth” signals tolerance of their delusions. Sorry, neighbor, your sex was assigned at conception, by Mother Nature. Don’t try to fool Mother Nature, it will turn out badly for you.

The U.S. Embassy in Israel on Friday told its staff that it could leave the country and urged anyone considering departure to do so immediately, as the threat of an American strike on Iran looms.
U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee told embassy employees in an email that discussions with officials in Washington had led to a decision authorizing departures for those who wished to leave.
The email was recounted to The Associated Press by someone involved with the U.S. mission who wasn’t authorized to share details. Sent before 10:30 a.m., it urged staff considering departure to do so quickly, advising them to to focus initially on getting any flight out of Israel and to then make their way to Washington.
“Those wishing to take AD should do so TODAY,” Huckabee wrote, using an acronym for “authorized departure.”
The timer is ticking down….

Pakistan carried out airstrikes in Kabul and two other Afghan provinces early Friday, Afghanistan’s government spokesperson said, hours after Afghanistan launched a cross-border attack on Pakistan in the latest escalation of violence between the neighboring countries that made a Qatar-mediated ceasefire appear increasingly shaky.
At least three explosions were heard in Kabul, but there was no immediate information on the exact location of the strikes in the Afghan capital, or of any potential casualties. Government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said Pakistan also carried out airstrikes in Kandahar to the south and in the southeastern province of Paktia.
Two senior Pakistani security officials told The Associated Press that Pakistan’s military carried out airstrikes targeting what they described as Afghan military facilities in Kabul, Kandahar and Paktia provinces, allegedly destroying two brigade bases, but they didn’t mention any potential casualties. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to media on the record.
If they haven’t got any Christians or Jews around, Muslims are quite happy to kill other Muslims. Religion of Peace indeed.

This is the real story: the left’s climate crusade was never about the planet. It was about control, optics, and punishing the right villains. When Tesla’s EVs stopped being their mascot, they trashed them. Now that tariffs threaten their borderless worldview, “buy local” is out the window too. Next, they’ll be boycotting farmers’ markets if Trump tweets about them. For a movement obsessed with saving the Earth, they sure love abandoning their own ideas the minute the politics shift. The climate’s just a prop—until it isn’t.

For as much as I enjoy analyzing politics[1], I’m even more against discussing it with friends. This policy arose from three patterns observed over the years:
- Most people don’t have political views, they have political tribes
- Developing the political reasoning skills to graduate from tribes to views is incredibly difficult
and the kicker:
- Most people don’t want to graduate from tribes to views
Much like sports teams.

Jewish leaders and California elected officials have condemned an antisemitic chant that was audible during a protest Wednesday against the repeal of a local San Francisco tax ordinance.
During a news conference addressing a new housing construction development plan hosted by San Francisco mayor Daniel Lurie and San Francisco District 5 Supervisor Bilal Mahmood, protesters with the Democratic Socialists of America chanted “tax the rich.”
According to videos reviewed by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, one woman on the scene can be clearly seen and heard chanting “tax Israel” and “tax the Jews.”

The recent brutal killing of the nationalist student Quentin Deranque in Lyon by suspected far-left ‘anti-fascists’ has provoked serious questions in France regarding the inconsistencies between reactions to left-wing and right-wing extremism. Also, various journalistic outlets in the United Kingdom have pored over the tragic tale, some with the tacit perspective that this sort of thing doesn’t happen in Blighty. While such lethal left-leaning violence rarely occurs in Britain, we do, of course, have various groups on the hard left, and, just as in France, the responses to the very notions of ‘left’ and ‘right’ are extremely different.
The overlooked reality is that far-right extremism is treated as one of the primary domestic threats (viewed on a par with Islamism), while far-left extremism is consistently minimised, excused or rebranded as activism. The result is a political and media culture that sees right-wing violence as ideological terrorism but often treats left-wing violence as understandable, even romantic, protest. The issue is not whether far-right extremism exists—it clearly does—but whether left-wing extremism is judged by the same yardstick. Many of us would argue that the answer is no.

Nigel Farage has branded the Gorton and Denton parliamentary by-election an exercise in “sectarian voting and cheating.”
The Reform UK leader made the remarks after the far-left Green Party swept to victory in the seat, following a campaign that heavily courted Muslim voters. Labour, which had been defending the seat, slumped to third as its vote share collapsed, while Reform surged into second place. The main opposition Conservative Party won just 1.9% of the vote.
Independent observers had earlier reported “concerningly high levels” of so-called family voting—where two voters confer, or one directs the other inside the polling booth, breaching the secrecy of the ballot. The practice is illegal under British election rules.
Democracy Volunteers, a non-partisan watchdog, said it had witnessed the practice in 15 of the 22 polling stations visited. In total, it recorded 32 cases, including nine at a single polling station. Of 545 voters observed, the group estimated that 12% were either involved in or affected by the practice.
Farage said the claims raised “serious questions” about the integrity of the vote in “predominantly Muslim areas.”

nationalist activist Quentin Deranque in Lyon reclassified as premeditated murder, after CCTV footage showed a scooter repeatedly circling the area shortly before the fatal attack.
Seven people have already been charged in the case, all of them activists close to the La Jeune Garde anti-fascist movement. According to information revealed by Europe 1, investigators have recently focused their attention on a scooter, spotted several times at the scene of the crime by the neighbourhood’s CCTV cameras. The vehicle does not follow a random route, but makes several trips back and forth, confirming the hypothesis of reconnaissance.
It has been established that scouting by scooter is one of the methods used by Antifa activists in Lyon, who typically identify their potential victims—starting with tracking them on social media—before launching a physical attack, blocking an isolated target in an ambush. A former member of La Jeune Garde, who testified openly for Frontières magazine, confirmed this practice, which he himself engaged in alongside MP Raphaël Arnault.
The scooter’s licence plate was identified by one of the victims of the attack that cost Quentin his life. For the moment, despite police investigations, the vehicle remains untraceable. However, it is a key piece of evidence in the case: if the direct involvement of the scooter driver is established, the charges against the suspects could be reclassified from “voluntary homicide” to “murder.”
At the same time, an investigation has been opened by the Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office against La Jeune Garde for “reconstituting a dissolved league.” La Jeune Garde had been officially dissolved in June 2025 by decision of the council of ministers but continued its activities in defiance of the law. Another parliamentary assistant from the far-left La France Insoumise (LFI) who was a member of La Jeune Garde has since resigned quietly.
Even as the murder investigation continues, MP Raphaël Arnault is set to publish a Manual for Anti-Fascist Response on March 20th. In the book’s introduction, we read that “the grassroots activist and co-founder of La Jeune Garde proposes to reopen certain strategic discussions and advocates for comprehensive anti-fascism, from the streets to the Assembly.”

The leak of the preliminary report of the European Parliament’s Committee on Petitions mission to the Canary Islands, carried out last year, has once again put the management of the southern Atlantic border in the spotlight. The document notes the “disproportionate” pressure borne by the archipelago and supports a greater role for the European Union on the migration route.
Based on that political backing, the Canary Islands government has once again urged Pedro Sánchez’s executive to immediately request the deployment of Frontex ships, aircraft and drones in waters near the islands.
However, the request does not imply a paradigm shift in migration policy. Sources close to President Fernando Clavijo acknowledge that the European reinforcement would serve as “real support in rescue tasks and in the orderly management of flows,” but it would not mean an effective closure of the route.
