‘Truth Is, These Are Not Very Bright Guys’

9th September 2025

Read it.

Why are Democratic Party leaders rendering garments over the elimination of narcoterrorists on the high seas?

Why are highly educated liberals standing inside beautiful Union Station tormenting the same National Guard members who are keeping them from being accosted or worse by mentally ill vagrants?

Why is Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker saying Chicago is safe when the city’s motto is “DUCK!”

Why was Sen. Chris Van Hollen downing fruity drinks with a wife-beating, child-abusing, human-smuggling gangbanger, then welcoming the thug back to Maryland like he was Lamar Jackson returning with a Super Bowl trophy?

Why were Democrat senators screaming at Robert F. Kennedy Jr. like he was a ref who’d blown a call against their team simply for wanting healthy children and reliable health data?

Certainly, there’s got to be some underlying, Machiavellian strategy to what on the surface seems madness; a well thought out, if wicked, scheme being run. After all, these are among America’s brightest minds if they have risen to the top of national leadership.

Right? It simply makes no sense otherwise.

Sure it does. Just because you think quickly (which is all intelligence really is) doesn’t mean you think correctly. As every dungeonmaster knows, intelligence and wisdom are two separate rolls.

Show Compassion for Man Who ‘Stabbed Ukrainian Refugee’, Says Democratic Mayor

9th September 2025

The Telegraph (UK).

The Democratic mayor of the city where a Ukrainian refugee was allegedly stabbed to death by a known criminal has called for “compassion” for the suspect.

Vi Lyles, the mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina, said she did not want to “villianise” Decarlos Brown Jr, who is accused of murdering Iryna Zarutska, 23, in an unprovoked attack.

Ms Lyles said that Charlotte “must do better” for people like Mr Brown, who is homeless, as they “need help and have no place to go”.

The comments led to calls on social media for Ms Lyles to resign, with some branding her a “total lunatic” and calling for Donald Trump to send in the National Guard.

Do Humans And Chimps Really Share Nearly 99% of Their DNA?

8th September 2025

Read it.

Chimpanzees, along with bonobos, are humans’ closest living relatives. In fact, you may have heard that humans and chimps share 98.8% of their DNA.

But is this actually true? And what does “similar DNA” actually mean?

The truth is that the frequently cited 98.8% similarity between chimp (Pan troglodytes) and human (Homo sapiens) DNA overlooks key differences in the species’ genomes, experts told Live Science.

“They Spent $13 Billion on a Mistake” USS Gerald Ford’s Electromagnetic Catapults Keep Failing and Navy Can’t Fix Them

8th September 2025

Read it.

The development of the USS Gerald R. Ford was marked by several challenges, including delays and budget overruns. Integrating new technologies, such as weapon elevators and EMALS, proved complex, contributing to these setbacks. The difficulties in certifying these systems highlighted the challenges of pioneering new technologies on such a massive scale.

The budget overruns, exceeding initial estimates by about 30%, sparked debates over defense spending priorities. Critics argue that the funds could have been allocated to other defense needs or social programs. This controversy has fueled discussions about the allocation of military resources and the balance between innovation and cost.

Furthermore, the ship’s advanced automation systems, designed to reduce crew size by 700, have raised questions about the future of naval employment. While automation reduces operational costs and improves crew conditions, it also poses challenges related to job security and the human element in military operations. These debates continue to shape discussions on the future of naval employment and technology integration.

Rhode Island’s ‘Taylor Swift Tax’ on Vacation Homes of the Wealthy Is Spreading to Other States

8th September 2025

CNBC, a Voice of the Crust.

A new push by states to tax the real estate of the wealthy has sparked a backlash among brokers and potential buyers, who say the taxes punish the most important local spenders.

Politicians don’t give a shit, as long as they get more of Other People’s Money to spend on buying the votes of the Underclass.

From tax hikes on pricey second homes in Rhode Island and Montana to Cape Cod’s proposed transfer tax on homes over $2 million and the L.A. mansion tax, state and local governments see a revenue gold mine in the pricey properties of the wealthy.

Democrats never see a dollar without hatching some scheme using the power of the State to steal it.

“It’s a smack in the face to people who just spend money here,” said Donna Krueger-Simmons, sales agent with Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International in Watch Hill, Rhode Island.

And deliberately so. Democrats think that if you have more money than they do, you must have stolen it from someone like them.

The tax hikes are being driven by tighter state budgets and populist anger over housing costs. States are looking to offset budget cuts expected from the new tax and spending bill in Washington. At the same time, the housing market has become a tale of two buyers, with the middle class and younger families struggling to afford homes while the luxury housing market thrives from wealthy all-cash buyers.

I guess they don’t teach the fable about the Golden Goose in school any more.

Asylum Ruling Appeals Hit New Record in Germany as Syrians Refuse to Go Home

8th September 2025

Read it.

Germany is experiencing a new migration conundrum. While judges are overwhelmed by tens of thousands of new appeals against asylum decisions, only a handful of Syrians—fewer than 2,000 out of nearly one million living in the country—have requested official assistance to return to their homeland, despite the fall of Bashar al-Assad having been celebrated as the condition that would make their return possible.

The first half of 2025 brought a record number, 76,646 lawsuits by migrants initiated before administrative courts, more than in all of 2023 (71,885) and three-quarters of the 2024 level. Densely populated states such as North Rhine-Westphalia (13,304), Bavaria (11,412), and Lower Saxony (over 11,000) account for much of this surge.

The consequences are visible: in some regions, cases already exceed one and a half years of waiting. According to Sven Rebehn, president of the German Judges Association, the increase is due to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees speeding up its asylum procedures, which multiplies the number of appeals.

Knife Attack in Berlin: Ten Afghans Stab Two Young Men

8th September 2025

Read it.

In Berlin-Mitte, two men aged 25 and 26 were attacked and stabbed on the Friedrichsbrücke around 1:45 a.m. this morning. According to information shasred by the German police, one of the victims suffered a stab wound to his lip, while the other had several stab wounds to his back. Both were taken to hospital for treatment, but their injuries are not life-threatening.

After the incident, the two young men fled to the Red City Hall, where security staff called the emergency services.

The attackers, described as a group of three women and seven men of Afghan origin, fled the scene and have not been apprehended yet.

The motive of the attack is unclear at this stage. The Criminal Investigation Department of the German capital police has taken over the case and is asking witnesses to come forward.

This attack follows another violent incident on Friday, September 5th in Neukölln, where a 26-year-old man was assaulted with scissors on Sonnenallee. Passersby found him and called the police.

France and Spain Overtake Germany in EU Asylum Requests

8th September 2025

Read it.

France and Spain have overtaken Germany as the top destinations for asylum seekers in the EU, new figures show.

By June 2025, France had received 78,000 asylum applications, Spain 77,000, and Germany 70,000—ending Germany’s long run as the main destination in Europe.

Venezuela is now the leading country of origin for asylum seekers, with nearly 49,000 requests—up by almost a third from last year. Martin Wagner from the International Centre for Migration Policy Development linked the surge to the Trump administration’s tougher immigration rules in the United States, prompting more Venezuelans to look to Europe instead.

Because Venezuelans can enter the EU without a visa and stay for 90 days, many apply for asylum only after arriving in Europe, Wagner noted.

The invasion proceeds apace.

Generation Remigration

8th September 2025

Power Line.

The future of Western Europe is hanging by a thread, as one government after another has collaborated in invasions by hostile foreigners. Indigenous Europeans are irate, and incumbent administrations are panicking. The London Times reports on the latest shakeup of Keir Starmer’s government. Starmer’s new Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, says the regime will get serious about immigration:

Another party insider said “nothing is off the table” for Mahmood. They said she was likely to want to reform the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and would be far more radical than her predecessor. The source added she would “start with the unthinkable and work backwards”.

“Far more radical” apparently means being less blatant about selling out the British people, not because they are, after all, the ones Britain’s government is supposed to represent, but in order to “stop the advance of Nigel Farage.” What “radical” measures are Starmer’s government now prepared to consider?

Mahmood’s first big intervention as home secretary is expected to come within weeks when she announces plans to build modular accommodation for single, adult male asylum seekers on Ministry of Defence land.

That is better, I suppose, than housing them in “migrant hotels” across Britain, at enormous expense in both money and criminality. But note the implicit acknowledgment that “migrants” are overwhelmingly “single, adult male asylum seekers.” This is why those who pay attention call it an invasion.

And how eager are those recruits to enforce German law against their fellow ‘migrants’, hmmm?

A Story of SpaghettiOs and Forgotten History

8th September 2025

Read it.

The 1960s were a famously tumultuous decade, so I suppose it makes sense that the food followed suit. On the one hand: Julia Child, who made her pop-culture arrival after the first episode of “The French Chef” aired on July 26, 1962. On the other hand: spray cheese, which debuted in 1965.

It was a contrast that feels deeply familiar today but was new back then: corporations cranking out an endless supply of new convenience foods while competing factions of culinary celebrities grew in prominence and cultural status and railed against the packaged foods that they viewed as mass-produced dreck, high in preservatives and low in any redeeming features.

Well, the ‘redeeming feature’ was that they tasted good….

I still marvel at how much TV dinner trays looked like the metal mess trays we used in the Navy.

US Senator Rejects the Judeo-Christian Foundation of America

This week, a U.S. senator from Virginia flatly rejected the central principle of the Declaration of Independence.

“The notion that rights don’t come from laws and don’t come from the government but come from the creator—that’s what the Iranian government believes,” Sen. Tim Kaine, a Democrat who ran for vice president alongside Hillary Clinton, said during a confirmation hearing Wednesday. “It’s a theocratic regime that bases its rule on Shia law and targets Sunnis, Bahá’is, Jews, Christians, and other religious minorities. And they do it because they believe they understand what natural rights are from their creator.”

“The notion that our rights do not come from our laws or our government should make people very, very nervous,” Kaine said.

The Image That Killed the Democrats in 2026 and Beyond

And just like that, it’s over for the Dems in the 2026 midterms. Maybe even the 2028 general election. Maybe this is even the final nail in their creaky, splintering, mentally ill, Marxist coffin.

Right now, they’re trying to ignore it, the way they tried to pretend Hunter Biden’s laptop didn’t exist back in 2020. They were successful enough that time to push their vote machine over the finish line in Biden/Harris’s favor, but that won’t happen this time. This story, this image, is already out there.

But then, the video emerged. It’s chilling and terrifying, the horror that every urban female (and plenty of males) fears. The still image of the moment the madman’s knife begins its descent is the most damning optic I’ve seen in years, and it will now become the face of the modern Democrat party.

Chinese Hackers Impersonated GOP Rep. Moolenaar

The FBI is investigating a suspected Chinese cyber campaign in which hackers impersonated Rep. John Moolenaar, R-Mich., the chair of the House committee on U.S.-China competition, in emails sent to trade groups, law firms, and government agencies ahead of high-stakes trade talks with Beijing.

“We will not be intimidated,” Moolenaar wrote in a statement to The Wall Street Journal.

The emails, which appeared to come from a nongovernment address, sought input on draft sanctions legislation and contained malware linked to APT41, a hacking group believed to work with China’s Ministry of State Security, sources told the Journal.

The Weird Rise of American ‘Refugees’

6th September 2025

Read it.

Finally, Europe has found a group of refugees who aren’t welcome—Americans.

As reported by Reuters this week, there is a small but growing number of U.S. citizens attempting to claim asylum in Europe, on the grounds that they are transgender. One such individual is Veronica Clifford-Carlos, a 28-year-old artist from San Francisco, who left the U.S. in June this year, hoping to be granted refugee status in the Netherlands. Clifford-Carlos claimed that the U.S. is no longer safe for trans people, and that “I have people screaming ‘faggot’ at me in the street … I have people threatening my life, threatening to assault me, threatening to follow me home and kill my family.”

Shockingly, for a country that normally appears to accept anyone from anywhere, no questions asked, the Netherlands rejected Clifford-Carlos’s application. In August, the American launched a lawsuit against the rejection—the first of its kind. Clifford-Carlos is not, however, alone in fleeing the supposed dystopian hellscape of Trump’s America. The advocacy group backing the lawsuit, LGBT Asylum Support, says it’s currently working with 20 other transgender Americans to make asylum claims. Official data from the Netherlands show that a total of 29 Americans applied for asylum there in the first half of this year, though the reason for each case is not recorded.

It is exceedingly rare for U.S. citizens to be granted asylum in European countries. Usually, this only happens incidentally, when an American dependent of someone with another citizenship—such as a parent—is given refugee status. For the Dutch government—or any European government—to accept an asylum application from America would imply criticism of the U.S. government. This is something that any European government would, understandably, be reluctant to do.

Police on Friday, September 5th, removed a makeshift memorial dedicated to “the victims of Merkel’s mass migration” near Breitscheidplatz in Berlin.

Concrete blocks, flowers, and photos had been placed at a site close to where a terrorist attacked the Christmas market in 2016, killing 13 people.

According to Deutschland-Kurier, the victims’ photos, including one of police officer Rouven Laur who was killed by an Islamist, were thrown away.

On Thursday, September 4, Berlin police covered the memorial with trash bags, and on Friday morning, a police armored vehicle came to remove the concrete blocks.

Germany Fails to Control Migration as Majority of Deportations Fail

6th September 2025

Read it.

More than half of all planned deportations from Germany continue to fail, highlighting persistent problems in the country’s migration policy.

According to the German government’s response to a parliamentary inquiry by Alternative für Deutschland Bundestag member René Springer, around 250,000 deportations were planned between 2020 and July 2025, but nearly 146,000 were not carried out.

The failure rate has remained consistently above 55%, reaching 60% in 2023 and 60.5% in 2024. In the first seven months of 2025, 35,489 deportations were scheduled, yet 20,982 could not be executed, representing 59.1%.

Springer criticized the federal government, telling NIUS that

the federal government has lost control and is unable to enforce existing law. Those who fail to consistently deport those required to leave the country are turning Germany into a magnet for illegal migration and destroying trust in the rule of law. Springer also argued that the repeated failures of established parties make the AfD the party most trusted by voters to address asylum and migration issues.

Tunis Complains After French Police Shoot Tunisian National in Knife Attack

6th September 2025

Read it.

The city of Marseille has just witnessed another knife crime: a Tunisian man who attacked and stabbed five people in a hotel in the city had to be shot dead by the police. Now Tunisia is accusing France of unlawfully killing the attacker and is demanding an inquiry.

The incident took place on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 2nd. The attacker, a Tunisian national with (allegedly) legal status in France, was evicted from the hotel for not paying his bills. He returned to the scene at around 3 p.m., went up to his former room and stabbed the person occupying the room, who is now in a “state of absolute emergency.” He then continued his murderous rampage by attacking the hotel manager, before continuing into the street and stabbing the manager’s son in the back. Armed with two knives and a baton, he then attacked customers at a nearby snack bar before a police patrol intervened and asked him to drop his weapons. When the man refused to comply, the police opened fire and killed him.

The Tunisian foreign minister has conveyed his “strong protest” to the French representative in Tunis and demanded a swift investigation. Through him, the Tunisian government also pledged to defend the rights of the deceased and his family.

They ought to dump his corpse on the steps of the Tunis embassy and let it rot there.

Quotation of the Day

6th September 2025

Winston Churchill:

I declare to you, from the bottom of my heart, that no Socialist system can be established without a political police. Many of those who are advocating Socialism or voting Socialist today will be horrified at this idea. That is because they are short-sighted, that is because they do not see where their theories are leading them. No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently worded expressions of public discontent. They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo, no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance. And this would nip opinion in the bud; it would stop criticism as it reared its head, and it would gather all the power to the supreme party and the party leaders, rising like stately pinnacles above their vast bureaucracies of Civil servants, no longer servants and on longer civil. And where would the ordinary simple folk—the common people, as they like to call them in America – where would they be, once this mighty organism had got them in its grip?

Al Jazeera at Work

6th September 2025

Power Line.

The morning’s email roundup from Mosaic directs attention to the video jointly produced by the Center for Peace Communications/Free Press (Free Press story here, behind the FP paywall). The video depicts Al Jazeera at work. Mosaic provides this background:

Because Hamas cannot overpower the IDF on the battlefield, it counts on inciting global hostility to Israel until international pressure forces Israel to stop fighting. This strategy depends both on distributing its own propaganda, and suppressing any information that it doesn’t want to be known outside of Gaza. For both purposes, it relies heavily on Al Jazeera, the media arm of Qatar, which is also Hamas’s patron.

As one of the interviewees in this video from the Center for Peace Communications explains, “the majority of the Al Jazeera staff [in Gaza] are an inseparable part of Hamas.” The network’s employees also play an important role in helping Hamas identify any journalists working for media not under its control—as well as dissidents more broadly—whom the terrorists then arrest and torture. On Al Jazeera’s team of propagandists-cum-agents was the late Anas al-Sharif, who shared a Pulitzer Prize and was widely mourned in the Western media after his death at the hands of the IDF. At the head of these information operations stood Abu Obeida, killed in an IDF airstrike last week.

Mosaic then quotes Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, who describes himself on his X account as “[p]roud American; Gaza native; pro-Palestine, pro-Peace, anti-Hamas & milit-occupation, Head of @rfpalestine; Senior Fellow @AtlanticCouncil; Term Member @CFR_org.”

Taxpayer-Funded Megamosque Built by Hamas Supporters in New York

6th September 2025

Read it.

Sometime after the 25th anniversary of September 11, the Muslim Brotherhood, whose members included Osama bin Laden, intends to build a megamosque in New York City.

And American taxpayers struggling to feed their children are the ones paying for it.

The organizers of the megamosque situated near the world famous Bronx Zoo, and across the narrow channel of Harlem River from Manhattan, boast that it will be the largest mosque in the state with four floors and 32,000 square feet overshadowing the mostly single-story houses and the occasional leftover Victorian from the neighborhood’s gentler past in the neighborhood.

Two of which the mosque has already demolished and whose residents it shamefully evicted.

In the old days, there would have been anti-Muslim riots in New York about something like this.

But that was then … this is now….

Boko Haram Kills Dozens in ‘House to House’ Attack in Nigeria

6th September 2025

Read it.

Boko Haram militants killed more than 60 people, including seven soldiers, in a nighttime assault on a village in northeastern Nigeria’s Borno State to which people had returned only last month following years of displacement, residents told Reuters.

Nigeria’s military says it has stepped up counterinsurgency operations in recent months in Borno state to try to contain militias as well as militants from Boko Haram and its splinter group, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

Analysts and residents say the operations have failed to stem attacks. Northwest Nigeria has also been plagued by violence.

Damning New Evidence Emerges In Biden Autopen Scandal

6th September 2025

Read it.

Fresh revelations about Joe Biden’s autopen scandal paint a picture so damning that even his most loyal defenders should be squirming in their seats. Internal emails obtained by the New York Post show a White House in complete disarray, with staff frantically scrambling to figure out whether Biden actually knew what documents were being signed in his name.

Fake Students Plague California Community Colleges, Displacing Real Enrollees

6th September 2025

Read it.

California’s community colleges are grappling with a surge in fraudulent enrollments, with 1.2 million fake applicants last year accounting for nearly 30 percent of new students, blocking real students from classes and costing millions in stolet financial aid, according to college officials.

The two essential functions of government are the keep people safe and keep people honest. Democrats seem congenitally inept at both.

The problem, exacerbated by the shift to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, affects at least 90 of the state’s 116 campuses, said Marvin Martinez, chancellor of the Rancho Santiago Community College District, and Jeannie Kim, president of Santiago Canyon College.

Before the pandemic, most classes were in-person, making fraud more difficult, Martinez said. But with 80 percent of courses moving online, bots and fake students can enroll from anywhere, including other states or countries.

How is this possible? In Indiana, the only place where I ever went to a ‘public school’, you had to submit a class schedule that was checked against the master computer list of students who were enrolled and had paid their fees. If you weren’t on the list, your proposed schedule went into the trash. California public employees must be truly incompetent.

France Moves to Restrict Free Medical Care for Undocumented Immigrants

6th September 2025

Read it.

The French government–facing a crucial confidence vote on September 8th–has drafted two decrees to restrict access to a wide range of healthcare services through the State Medical Assistance (AME) to illegal immigrants.

Prime Minister François Bayrou described the move as “a common-sense measure” in an interview with BFMTV, stressing that in a time when efforts are being asked of the French, it is only fair that those living in France illegally also contribute.

The restrictions are part of broader fiscal adjustments aimed at addressing France’s strained finances, including the 2026 budget, which seeks savings of around €44 billion.

…And The Legacy Media Wonders Why Nobody Trusts Them

6th September 2025

Read it.

Last year when I was asked to write a chapter for a US book on the incredible inroads and attacks on our civil liberties during the thuggish Covid lockdown years I decided, in part, to rank the worst offending groups. The lawyerly and doctorly castes were bad. They were woeful in fact. But the politicians as a class, the ones who ultimately made the calls, were worse – and there were very few exceptions to that generalised claim, as any Australian knows who looks for politicians who, say, resigned from Cabinet on principle (nada, zero) or who spoke up publicly and loudly against the massive authoritarian over-reach and aping of the policies of the Chinese Communist Politburo (a mere handful at most).

So I gave the silver medal for thuggish lockdown commitment and stalwart thuggery to the political class. However, in terms of letting all of us citizens down I reserved the gold medal for the journalists of the legacy media. As a class they exhibited no scepticism. No thinking for themselves. They were fearmongers and PR agents for the modellers, public health gurus, ‘nudge’ manipulators and politicos. Yes, there were some brave exceptions. But very few. What we got from the legacy media was a sort of attempt to play the type of media you’d see in George Orwell’s 1984, dealing in Big Brother doublethink. And all of that is on top of the verifiably huge drift towards the political Left of the legacy media over the last few decades.

Well, if you were hoping things would get noticeably better after the lockdowns ended, they haven’t.

Media Blame MAGA for Shooting, Fearmonger About Trump Ending Democracy

6th September 2025

Read it.

All this past month leftist journalists have been wailing about President Donald Trump’s attacks on democracy.

The likes of MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart and Ali Velshi feared that America was “sliding into autocracy” and questioned if the country could withstand the “internal demolition” carried out by Trump. Former ABC News correspondent Terry Moran claimed Trump was the “man that we were warned about by the Founders.”

Trump’s crackdown on crime in Washington D.C. was spun as an unnecessary “occupation,” and the type of tyrannical action that a North Korean dictator would take.

Sadly, the sickening attack on a Minneapolis church brought out – once again – the media’s hatred of gun rights and religion. MSNBC contributor Michael Steele sneered “I’m so beyond” the “nonsense” of “thoughts and prayers.” Former MSNBC and ESPN anchor Keith Olbermann blamed “Republicans, MAGA” and “Trumpists” for the shooting and urged that they must “pay for their crimes.” Comedian and one-time ABC’s The View co-host Rosie O’Donnell falsely claimed the shooter was a “Republican, MAGA person.”

NY Times Compares Trump to Hitler for Wanting ‘Science With Practical Results’

6th September 2025

Read it.

Tuesday’s New York Times led with a 2,500-word screed by science reporter William Broad. “Historians See Autocratic Playbook in Trump’s Attacks on Science” took off from that headline and became quickly even more laughable, taking us back 400 years to the Inquisition. The prominent story was even illustrated with a painting of astronomer Galileo’s 1633 church trial for heresy for insisting the Earth moves around the sun.

“The war on science began four centuries ago when the Roman Catholic Church outlawed books that reimagined the heavens. Subsequent regimes shot or jailed thousands of scientists,” Broad boomed before continuing his screed.

Immigration Appeals Court Expands Mandatory Detention for Millions

6th September 2025

Politico, a Voice of the Crust.

A powerful Justice Department appeals panel has declared that anyone in deportation proceedings who entered the U.S. without legal authorization is not entitled to be considered for release on bond by an immigration judge.

Upon which point they vanish into obscurity, and are safe from deportation, becomeing ‘undocumented immigrants’ and near and dear to proglodyte hearts everywhere.

The ruling upends a decades-long understanding of federal law and could subject millions of immigrants to mandatory detention — a loss of liberty that advocates say could cause many to voluntarily leave the country even if they have meritorious cases to remain.

… which ‘understanding’ is responsible for the predicament in which we now find ourselves. People ‘voluntarily leaving the country’ is the desired outcome; ‘meritorious cases to remain’ remain meritorious, just not in the Fashionable Victim sense.

Court Sides With Kickl: Hitler Comparison Ruled Defamatory

6th September 2025

Read it.

Austria’s Supreme Court has sided with FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl in his legal dispute with the association Plattform Österreich, Die Presse reported.

The case centered on a campaign video that compared Kickl to Adolf Hitler, using the term “Volkskanzler” (“People’s Chancellor”) as part of the imagery.

Plattform Österreich, led by Robert Luschnik—a former federal manager for the Greens and NEOS and now club director of the Pink Party—released the video ahead of the last national elections under the title “Do you want that? Our Austria is in danger.”

The footage juxtaposed black-and-white World War II battle scenes with the question, “Do you really want another People’s Chancellor?” before showing Kickl’s face under the caption “People’s Chancellor Project.”

Who Is Transit For, Anyway?

6th September 2025

The Antiplanner.

By ‘transit’ is meant, of course, ‘mass transit’ or ‘public transit’. Your car is just as much ‘transit’ as a bus or a train, but not being paid for by taxpayers makes it markedly declassé.

More than 70 organizations are asking the Illinois legislature to “reform” transit, by which they mean give it more tax dollars, according to a Chicago non-profit called the Active Transportation Alliance. The group’s list of organizations shows that at least half of them are labor unions or associated with such unions.

This supports my contention that transit today isn’t about moving people; it’s about jobs for union workers and profits for contractors. Some environmental groups are on the list of Chicago transit supporters, but they wouldn’t be if they really looked at the numbers.

Much like railroads in the modern world.
