On the Road to a Hyperstate: EU Commission Circumvents Financing Rules

19th August 2025

Read it.

The European Union is funded by contributions from its member states. At least, that’s what the founding treaties say. In practice, however, the EU has long been taking other paths.

At the core of Europe’s financial architecture lies a clear separation of responsibility and liability: Article 125 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU), the so-called “No-Bailout Clause.” It states, unequivocally, that neither the Union nor individual member states may assume the debts of other states. The purpose of this provision is to prevent free-rider effects (moral hazard) at the expense of other member states: each state is responsible for its own obligations.

Still, the clause does not exclude political support, as long as it does not mean assuming the existing debts of other states. A notable example of this practice were the bailout programs for Greece during the sovereign debt crisis one and a half decades ago.

Refugees in Austria Accused of Failing German Courses to Stay on Benefits and Out of Work

19th August 2025

Read it.

A new report by Austria’s Public Employment Service (AMS) has sparked controversy after suggesting that some refugees are intentionally failing German language courses to avoid being placed in low-paying jobs.

The findings, published in the study “New Refugees from Syria on the Austrian Labor Market,” highlight a growing challenge for integration policy, with concerns that language training, once seen as the key to employment, is becoming a barrier instead.

In the report, one first-hand account from a Syrian woman who studied medicine in her home country and worked as a paediatrician in Turkey, criticized what she sees as a systemic problem: qualified Syrian women being pushed into cleaning jobs without any consideration of their professional skills. She claims that, in response, some refugees purposely fail their language exams to avoid being forced into such low-status work.

Legacy Newscasts Quiet After Texas Fleebaggers Return to the Capitol

19th August 2025

Newsbusters.

The legacy media provided ample coverage to the Texas House Democrats fleeing the Capitol in order to deny a quorum on efforts to redistrict the Lone Star State’s congressional map ahead of the 2026 midterms. But there was nary a peep from the legacies as the fleebaggers skulked back home.

The updated fleebagger saga did draw some coverage on Fox News’ Special Report with Bret Baier.

There just wasn’t any time to cover this: not on ABC, CBS, or NBC. The guilty plea of Matthew Perry’s ketamine dealer was just too important to ignore, as was the price cut of weight loss medication.

That reality is what drove House Democrats back to Austin. And after the legacies did what they could to puff them up, there was simply zero time to cover this very important development within the ongoing political debate. Things are (D)ifferent now, you see.

US Defense Secretary Brings Military Discipline Back as Recruitment Surges

19th August 2025

Read it.

One of the enduring embarrassments for the US under Joe Biden was his administration’s handling of the military, from the poorly planned exit from Afghanistan, to forced covid vaccination, to their bizarre recruitment and training policies. Democrats sought to fundamentally change the fabric of every vital American institution and the Department of Defense was no different.

Military recruitment imploded and public interest in the services plunged during the rampant degeneracy of progressive rule. Woke infiltration of the Pentagon and the Department of Defense was rampant. Top generals were spouting Critical Race Theory propaganda, the US Army was trying to integrate 90 pound women into the Rangers in the name of “equity” and transgender cross-dressers were making TikToks in uniform with the blessing of the Navy while getting sex-change surgeries on the taxpayer’s dime.

Military recruitment ads went full woke. An utter humiliation on the world stage that promoted DEI activism over security readiness in the form of childish cartoons. Noticeably absent from these ads was young white men, the one demographic that traditionally joins in the name of patriotism and is largely responsible for filling recruitment quotas every year.

Texas Democratic Legislator to Stay in State Capitol After Refusing Law Enforcement Escort to Leave

19th August 2025

NBC, a Voice of the Crust.

First, Texas House Democrats refused to meet in their legislative chamber in an act of resistance. Now, one of them won’t leave.

State Rep. Nicole Collier of Fort Worth on Monday said she will remain locked in the Austin statehouse chamber until the House reconvenes on Wednesday morning.

She is making the move after she refused conditions set by Republican leaders that would have required her to sign off on a law enforcement escort before being allowed to go home after Monday’s session.

It’s another dramatic turn in the two-week saga involving Texas state House Democrats who fled to other states earlier this month, with most of them taking refuge in Illinois. The plan denied a quorum for Republicans to move forward during a special legislative session with a redraw of Texas’ congressional map, an act aimed at padding the GOP’s U.S. House majority.

“I refuse to sign away my dignity as a duly elected representative just so Republicans can control my movements and monitor me with police escorts,” Collier said in a statement that called her a “political prisoner” for refusing Republican “surveillance protocol.”

BBC Admits Gazan Woman Who ‘Starved to Death’ Had Cancer

19th August 2025

The Telegraph (UK).

The BBC has admitted that a Gazan woman it claimed had died of malnutrition was being treated for cancer.

Over the weekend, the broadcaster reported that the 20-year-old, identified as Marah Abu Zuhri, died after she was evacuated to Italy for treatment while “severely emaciated”.

However, the Israeli military unit in charge of aid, known as the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories, claimed shortly afterwards that she had been suffering from from leukaemia.

The corporation was accused of spreading “shocking misinformation” with the story, which was updated on Sunday to reflect the patient’s condition.

Following the criticism, the BBC issued a statement saying: “We were not initially aware that Marah Abu Zuhri was being treated for leukaemia.

Uh-hun. Sure. I believe that.

A London council has advised staff not to refer to married couples as husband and wife.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich council in southeast London has provided its staff with an inclusive language guide which suggests they use terms “spouse” or “partner” instead to avoid offending anyone who does not identify as a man or woman.

he 45-page booklet, obtained by The Sun through a freedom of information request, also asks the council’s employees to avoid welcoming “ladies and gentlemen” if they are running public meetings and events.

Europe’s New War Economy: From Green Collapse To Military Keynesianism

18th August 2025

Read it.

While the green pseudo-economy drags the broader economy into the basement, two-thirds of Germans say they are satisfied with renewable energy or even want to see it expanded more rapidly. Meanwhile, the construction of a European war economy marks the next stage in Europe’s ongoing impoverishment.

The most popular yet most destructive economic strategy remains the modern interpretation of Keynesianism. With his oversimplified view of economic activity, the British economist John Maynard Keynes inadvertently handed postwar politicians a toolkit that they later perverted into an all-purpose “solution” for every economic crisis. The condensed version reads as follows: nearly every recession stems from a demand shortfall by consumers. The state’s job, therefore, is to create artificial credit to fill this demand gap.

UN Peacekeeping Force in Lebanon Spends US Taxpayer Money on ‘Gender Diversity’ Training and Therapeutic Yoga Instruction, Drawing Scrutiny From Trump Admin

18th August 2025

Read it.

The U.N. peacekeeping force in Lebanon is largely funded with U.S. taxpayer dollars, money it has used to pursue left-wing programs like “gender diversity” training and lessons on “gender mainstreaming in military operations,” as well as therapeutic yoga instruction. Those expenditures are drawing scrutiny as the Trump administration lobbies fellow U.N. Security Council members to vote against a French resolution renewing the agency’s mandate, sources familiar told the Washington Free Beacon.

The U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), composed of thousands of troops from 46 nations, will need U.N. reauthorization at the end of August. Its force costs between $400 million and $500 million each year, with the United States shouldering roughly 30 percent of the burden. Private diplomatic concerns come amid public reports the Trump administration may allow UNIFIL’s mandate to lapse after last month’s rescissions package clawed back about $158 million from the agency.

British Army Colonel: Civil War Is Coming

18th August 2025

A retired British Army Colonel is warning that he believes a civil war in the country is now inevitable because politicians are unwilling to take meaningful actions to fix societal collapse.

Colonel Richard Kemp, who has served on the Joint Intelligence Committee and the Cabinet Office crisis centre COBRA, urges that an alliance “of the hard left and Islamist extremists” will clash with broadly conservative British people and that it will lead to widespread prolonged unrest.

Kemp suggests that “together with other causes,” these Islamist leftists will “come together to threaten the cohesion and the culture, the entire culture and political existence of the West.”

1,000 People Died While New York Attorney General Chased Trump

18th August 2025

“We have to stop believing or following the rules. Break the rules,” New York Attorney General Letitia James recently told a radical leftist magazine. And she’s been doing exactly that.

Since taking office, the state’s top prosecutor has promoted one politically motivated prosecution after another, targeting, among others, the NRA and the Trump family, even as crime in the state soared to horrifying new heights. An exclusive Freedom Center investigation showed that 1,000 people died while Attorney General Letitia James neglected her duties.

Now James and her media allies are crying because the Justice Department is investigating her.

And no one deserves it more than her.

Apple Working on All-New Operating System

17th August 2025

Read it.

Apple is developing an all-new operating system codenamed “Charismatic,” according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Gurman is a solid and respectable source of Apple news.

This is likely Apple’s long-rumored “homeOS” operating system.

In a report this week, Gurman said both Apple’s rumored smart home hub in 2026 and tabletop robot in 2027 will run the new operating system. He said the software platform will blend elements of tvOS and watchOS. For example, he expects there to be a hexagonal grid of apps, just like on the Apple Watch.

The platform largely revolves around clock faces and widgets, and it will have multi-user support, Gurman said. Users will primarily interact with it using Siri voice commands, but touch will also be an option, he said. Some of the preinstalled apps from Apple will apparently include Calendar, Camera, Music, Reminders, and Notes.

Deep-Sea Desalination Pulls Drinking Water From the Depths

17th August 2025

Scientific American, a Voice of the Crust.

From Cape Town to Tehran to Lima to Phoenix, dozens of cities across the globe have experienced water shortages recently. And in the next five years the world’s demand for fresh water could significantly outpace supply, according to a United Nations forecast. Now several companies are turning to an unexpected source for a solution: the bottom of the ocean.

Called subsea desalination, the idea is to remove the salt from water in the deep sea. If it worked at scale, the technology could greatly alleviate the world’s water access problems.

Costs and energy requirements have kept desalination from going mainstream in most of the world. Early desalination involved boiling seawater and condensing the steam, a purely thermal method that used loads of energy. This approach was later replaced by multistage flash distillation, in which temperature and pressure “flash” salt water to steam. In the past 25 years reverse osmosis has become more common—it uses high pressure to push seawater through a membrane with holes so small that only water molecules squeeze through, leaving salt behind.

Reverse osmosis is more efficient than distillation, but it takes a lot of energy to pressurize millions of gallons of seawater and move it through filters. What if we could let that movement happen naturally by harnessing the pressure hundreds of meters underwater?

Why Liberals Love to be Hated

17th August 2025

Read it.

It may surprise some how eagerly the liberals who claim to believe in gay rights, make abortion their sacrament and worship at the altar of secularism make common cause with the Islamic enemies of all that they supposedly believe in. But it really shouldn’t because they don’t believe it.

From the Hitler-Stalin pact to the white liberal worship of the Black Panthers, it’s long since been clear that what they claim to want is very different from what they really, really want.

Liberals claimed to want civil rights, racial coexistence and integration, but even well before Martin Luther King’s body was cold in the ground, they were enraptured by Malcolm X, the Black Panthers and later outright terrorist groups like the Black Liberation Army and their illegitimate offspring like Black Lives Matter. Well before the official Red-Green alliance between Islam and the Left, white liberals had made common cause with a racist, misogynistic, supremacist and occasionally Islamic terrorist movement bent on destroying America.

Judge Expands Restraining Order Against Beto O’Rourke Over Alleged ‘Beto Bribes’

17th August 2025

Read it.

A Texas judge has tightened the legal vise on former U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke, slapping him and his political group, Powered by People, with an expanded restraining order that also ropes in ActBlue and any banks handling their funds.

The move came Saturday after Attorney General Ken Paxton filed an urgent motion a day earlier, accusing O’Rourke’s outfit of funneling cash to Democrats who fled the state to derail redistricting votes.

Eight days ago, a district court first barred O’Rourke’s group from raising or distributing money to the runaway lawmakers. But the Democrat firebrand thumbed his nose at the order – holding rallies, posting fundraising videos online, and defiantly declaring, “Still here, still raising and rallying to stop the steal of 5 congressional seats in Texas.”

Forced Swedish Housing Integration for Thee but Not for Me?

17th August 2025

Read it.

A social democrat MP pushing for mixing low-income apartment buildings with single-family homes to force integration of immigrants and native Swedes is herself safe from having her home life affected by the proposal: She lives in a single-family home—in Denmark, Samnytt reports.

In May, the Swedish tenants’ union presented a radical proposal identifying highly desirable subdivisions with single-family homes where, it suggested, 600,000 apartments for low-income families ought to be built. And not on existing green spaces between private lots either—according to the proposal, each single-family homeowner should be forced to give up part of his lot for the construction of an apartment building. This, the tenants’ union said, would open up for a “more mixed population.”

A proposal along similar lines was adopted by the Social Democrat party congress a few weeks later.

Socialists in the U.S. love the same trick. They seem to think that putting poor semi-criminal people in the middle of rich people will make them richer and more law-abiding; it merely makes the rich people leave.

Meet the Crime-Fighting Volunteers Patrolling Bournemouth at Night

17th August 2025

The Times (UK).

As dusk approaches in Bournemouth, nine men and one woman are gathered in a town centre car park. All are dressed in black, wearing dark blue tabards with the words “Safeguard Force”. They are about to set off on their evening patrol in an area where, the group says, “our streets are not safe” and “our women walk in fear”. Tonight’s volunteers are a mixed bunch, but there’s a preponderance of tattoos, powerful frames and bulging muscles.

“We don’t like the word ‘vigilantes’, don’t like it at all,” says Gary Bartlett, the group’s founder. It’s a word some in the town are using to describe the group, but others appear to be welcoming them with open arms. There is, many believe, something rotten at the heart of Bournemouth, and the hope is that Bartlett and his friends can help to fix it.

Safeguard Force calls itself “a voluntary community service set up to protect the most vulnerable”. Semi-uniformed, unofficial, unregulated, they say their aim is to deter crime and assist an overstretched police service on streets that have become lawless. Launched earlier this month, they patrol the town centre every evening from 7.30pm: they have plans to extend their hours, and to roll out the idea nationwide.

When the government neglects it’s first duty, to keep order and protect the people, then said people will have to do it themselves. This ought not to come as a surprise to anybody.

Portsmouth Blindsided by Hundreds of Hidden Asylum Seekers

17th August 2025

The Times (UK).

A council that said it could not take any more asylum seekers has complained to the Home Office after it discovered that hundreds of migrants were being housed locally without its knowledge.

Portsmouth city council discovered last week that 55 rental properties were being used to house at least three asylum seekers each, accommodation known as homes of multiple occupation (HMO).

In 2023, James Hill, the city’s director of housing, told the Home Office the “system’s capacity was such that we couldn’t support additional asylum seekers”. However, at a public meeting in July hosted by Amanda Martin, the Labour MP for Portsmouth North, figures came to light that revealed the number of private properties being used to house migrants had risen from ten at the end of 2019 to 58 in April 2024. Last week, the council confirmed with the Home Office that the number was 55.

Why the UK Public Sector Still Creaks Along on COBOL

16th August 2025

The Register.

The UK government has gone all-in on AI. More than 50 years after Harold Wilson gave his famous “White heat of technology” speech, this is the hot new thing. An AI Strategy has been released. Datacenters are planned. Steps to strengthen AI supply chains are being formulated. And of course, the public sector will lead by example in AI usage.

Whitehall might talk a big game when it comes to IT, but so far the words haven’t fit the picture. Its own State of Digital Government report, released in January, found the central government’s IT portfolio wanting. It classified 28 percent of central government systems as legacy, rising to 70 percent in some areas. HMRC is still paying contractors top dollar to maintain COBOL systems.

Legacy has a specific meaning in government, per the study: “unsupported, has known vulnerabilities, is difficult to maintain, or is unable to meet current business or user needs.”

“For years this problem has plagued both public and private sector organisations,” says Heather Cover-Kus, head of central government at UK tech industry association techUK. “However, the issue is more complex for the public sector as the cost of getting things wrong is very high, as is the cost of doing nothing.”

Florida Highway Horror: Migrant Truck Driver Leaves 3 Americans Dead Amid CDL Crisis

16th August 2025

Read it.

In yet another tragic incident underscoring the dangers on America’s highways, a Punjabi migrant truck driver allegedly executed an illegal U-turn on Florida’s Turnpike near Fort Pierce on August 12, resulting in a catastrophic collision that killed three innocent Americans. The semi-truck, attempting the prohibited maneuver in an “official use only” area, was struck by a minivan carrying a 30-year-old driver from Pompano Beach and his passengers—a 37-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man from Miami. All three perished, with two dying at the scene and the driver succumbing later in the hospital.

Video footage captured the horrifying moment, showing the 18-wheeler blocking lanes and causing the fatal impact. The driver, reportedly an Indian migrant suspected of being part of a California Eco-System that exploits cheap labor, walked away uninjured. This crash mirrors a disturbing trend we’ve repeatedly highlighted: untrained migrant drivers flooding U.S. highways, leading to preventable deaths.

As American Truckers United has warned in previous reports, the Biden-era surge in foreign and non-domiciled CDLs has turned interstates into killing fields. From the deadly pileups in Austin, Terrell, Thomasville, and Chattanooga involving suspected non-citizen truckers, to cargo thefts by “ghost carriers,” these incidents are no coincidence. We’ve urged Transportation Secretary Duffy to ban CDLs issued to non-citizens and probe these threats, but inaction persists amid record migrant influxes into the industry.

CBS Is the Only Network to Identify Indicted Mayor as a Democrat

16th August 2025

Newsbusters.

One time-tested way to examine media bias is to see if the media label any indicted Democrat official as a Democrat. But with President Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to Washington, D.C., highlighting blue city mismanagement, over ABC, CBS, and NBC’s Friday evening and Saturday morning shows, only CBS passed the test of identifying New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell as a Democrat, and even that comes with the caveats that it was only shown on the West Coast and online streaming airing of Evening News and provided the fewest details of the three networks.

Because the networks’ non-West Coast evening news slots were understandably taken over by special coverage of the Trump-Putin Alaska summit, that left West Coast and streaming audiences for traditional newscasts on Friday night. On CBS Evening News, host Maurice DuBois reported, “The mayor of New Orleans was indicted today on federal fraud, conspiracy, and obstruction charges. Democrat Latoya Cantrell, the city’s first female mayor, is accused of trying to hide a romantic relationship with her bodyguard, who was a city police officer.”

Blue State Blues: Washington Cancer Patient Has Car Stolen on First Day of Treatment

16th August 2025

Read it.

On what should have been a day focused solely on fighting prostate cancer, Washington state resident Val Mohney got blindsided by a different kind of battle — car theft.

Mohney, who lives in Davenport, had traveled to Columbia City to stay with his friend Kristen Dean while starting treatment, according to Yahoo. But at around 6 a.m. Tuesday, the police called with news guaranteed to ruin anyone’s morning: his car had been stolen, joyridden, and crashed into a fence at a nearby middle school.

“Unfortunately, I started my day off with having my car ripped off and driven through a fence,” he told KING5. “I’m just trying to deal with cancer, and now I have to deal with that.”

Yahoo writes that the car was in bad shape — the ignition looked like someone had “taken a grenade” to it — and it was left abandoned in the school parking lot. For Mohney, a real estate agent, the loss isn’t just inconvenient; it’s income-threatening. “I’m the sole bread winner so if I’m not making money there’s no money coming in,” he said.

Europe’s Next Hotspot? Balearics Reel From Migrant Surge

16th August 2025

Read it.

More than 600 migrants landed in Spain’s Balearic Islands in just two days, the largest influx the holiday archipelago has ever seen.

Police and locals say the Mediterranean archipelago has become Europe’s newest “back door” for illegal immigration, as smuggling gangs shift away from the Canary Islands and Italy. ABC reports that packed boats, some carrying Algerians, and others loaded with sub-Saharan Africans and Asians, who pay up to €14,000 for the trip, are landing on Mallorca, Formentera, and Cabrera almost daily.

The sudden explosion is no accident. Security officials blame the collapse of relations with Algeria, furious at Madrid’s flip towards Morocco in the Western Sahara dispute. Once a reliable partner, Algiers is now accused of looking the other way. “They have no incentive to stop the boats,” one Spanish officer admitted.

“There’s no such thing as replacement theory; it’s a replacement fact”—Center for Immigration Studies Executive Director Mark Krikorian

16th August 2025

Read it.

Mark Krikorian is the Executive Director of the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), one of the leading institutions in the United States to analyze and formulate immigration policy. For decades, he has studied the impact of immigration on social cohesion, the economy, and national security, both in the U.S. and Europe. His analysis starts from a premise uncomfortable for many governments: mass immigration is not an inevitable phenomenon but the direct result of political decisions.

For Krikorian, the problem is not only the scale of immigration but also the systematic refusal of ruling classes to accept that legitimate limits exist.

In this interview conducted during the MCC Feszt in Esztergom, Hungary, the analyst offers an unflinching look at the mistakes of the United States and Europe, warns about demographic replacement, and points out that the political battle of our time is not so much between left and right, but between those whose primary loyalty is to their nation and those who have adopted a post-national vision.

The Butker Principle: Is America Better Off Without Women In The Workforce?

16th August 2025

Read it.

Some readers might recall a year ago the internet was in an uproar about a commencement speech given by Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker at Benedictine College, a private Catholic liberal arts school in Kansas. The speech went viral due to his denouncement of abortion, Pride Month, COVID-19 lockdowns and the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion.

However, it was his comments on women in the workforce that really put a twist in the panties of the leftist media.

Leftists were enraged and attempted to cancel Butker. The problem was that cancel culture was in steep decline and the activist mobs had already lost much of their previous influence. More than DEI, more than ESG, more than CRT or the LGBT movement, leftists are most protective of feminism. It is, in a way, the “mother” of all other progressive propaganda movements in America.

As I have noted in the past, there are many Marxist and globalist ideologies focused on social engineering, but the first and perhaps most dangerous in the US is feminism. It’s not a coincidence that Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels published their Communist Manifesto in February of 1848, and feminism traces its roots directly to the Seneca Falls Convention in New York, held in July of 1848 (many of the women involved in the event would go on to express ties to socialism, including Fabian socialism).

Feminism was originally predicated on the idea that women should have access to the same legal rights as men. This was achieved many decades ago, yet activists continue to demand more privileges as the movement seeks to justify its ongoing existence. This begs the question: What is the real purpose of feminism?

Across the Land, Rainbow Crosswalks Face Orders to Erase ‘Asphalt Art’

16th August 2025

The Washington Post, paper of record of the Deep State.

Rainbow colors adorn the downtown Orlando intersection that leads to the site where dozens died during a mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub in 2016. The crosswalk was decorated to show the city’s solidarity with the LGBTQ community and to memorialize the 49 people killed inside the popular gay club.

One would think that being abnormal indicates some sort of moral superiority.

Migrants Were Our ‘Financial Lifeline’, Say Epping Hotel Owners

16th August 2025

The Telegraph (UK).

Migrants housed at a controversial Epping hotel were a “financial lifeline” for its owners, a court has heard.

The Bell Hotel has been at the centre of anti-immigration protests since a resident was charged with the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl last month.

Epping Forest District Council has applied for a High Court injunction against its owners, Somani Hotels Ltd, which would end its use as an asylum hotel.

Lawyers representing the company have said the injunction would cause it “financial harm” because the migrants were a “financial lifeline” that had allowed “money to be reinvested in the hotel”. Just one per cent of rooms were occupied in August 2022, they added.

Earlier the court was told that it was “not acceptable” for migrants to be housed at an Epping hotel because there are five schools within walking distance.

Two of the hotel’s residents have been charged with sexual assault in recent months.

Follow the money.

Labour Council ‘Left Palestine Flags Up’ While Removing Union Jacks

16th August 2025

The Times (UK).

The Labour council in Birmingham has been accused of double standards for claiming to be unable to take down Palestinian flags while removing English ones.

A row erupted after residents put up hundreds of Union Jack and St George’s flags on lampposts in a “patriotic outpouring” over the past fortnight.

The council issued a statement saying flags and other attachments, such as bunting and advertising, “could be putting lives at risk” and it would take them down.

Yes, Sacramento State’s President Said He Wanted to ‘Eliminate Whiteness’

15th August 2025

Read it.

Hello, this is Victor Davis Hanson for The Daily Signal. Recently, we discussed Dr. Luke Wood, the president of California State University of Sacramento, and a video that has been recently circulating in which he says he plans to “eliminate whiteness.” And there was a discussion whether whiteness is separate from or synonymous with being white.

And I suggested to you that this was a very deleterious and stupid thing to say, and it was divisive in a multiracial democracy. In other words, it’s like saying that your image in the mirror, you can destroy that. But it has nothing to do with you, the real person who is projecting that image. In other words, that’s just a reflection of who you are.

Whiteness, according to his logic, would be a reflection of people who are white. And he couldn’t explain that when asked to.
