French Proposes Democrats Fight Trump on Crime by Blaming Him for 2020 Crime Spree

27th August 2025

Read it.

Hypocrisy was on full display on Wednesday’s Morning Joe as New York Times columnist David French joined the MSNBC show to discuss how Democrats should respond to President Trump on crime. Despite all the claims that Trump would be abusing his authority if he deployed the National Guard to blue cities, French, who, despite endorsing Kamala Harris, fancies himself as one of the few remaining principled conservatives left in America, advised Democrats to blame Trump for the 2020 crime crisis.

Co-host Willie Geist opened up the floor, “So, David French, the question is then for Democrats, and you can offer some free political advice, too, if you’d like to. What is the way through this? We have heard Governor Moore, Governor Pritzker, Governor Newsom saying, ‘We welcome partnership, we welcome more cops. We want people in our streets to feel safe, but we’re not doing it his way. We’re not going to have troops walking down the streets of Baltimore and Chicago and Los Angeles.’”

2nd Night of Riots in Switzerland After Congolese Teen Dies, Right-Wing Politician Targeted in Lynching Attack

27th August 2025

Read it.

Quiet and prosperous Switzerland also now has its migrant riots to contend with. In the Swiss city of Lausanne, riots have now broken out for a second night after a 17-year-old Congolese youth died during a police chase. During the first night of unrest, a right-wing politician was targeted by a large group of youths, who nearly lynched him.

At 10:00 p.m. last night., approximately 150 to 200 people set up roadblocks and began burning containers and garbage cans. They also severely damaged a bus.

Officers were hit with Molotov cocktails, paving stones, and construction fences, along with other objects, according to police.

Police hit the rioters with tear gas and rubber bullets to control the unrest. No injuries were reported.

Illegal-Alien-Protecting Judge Suffers Key Loss With Rejection of Her Judicial Immunity Claim

27th August 2025

Read it.

We have previously discussed the lack of a credible defense for Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan, who has been charged with facilitating the escape of an undocumented man being sought by federal officers in her courthouse. Indeed, despite having high-powered lawyers such as Paul Clement, her recent social media posts seem more like a pitch for jury nullification. One bright spot for Dugan was that she was assigned to U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman, a liberal Democrat who has run for prior office and has been accused of bias on the bench.

However, Judge Adelman just delivered a blow to the defense by rejecting Dugan’s claim that she had judicial immunity in taking her actions.

A Dark Money Group Is Secretly Funding High-Profile Democratic Influencers

27th August 2025

WIRED, a Voice of the Crust masquerading as a tech site.

IN A PRIVATE group chat in June, dozens of Democratic political influencers discussed whether to take advantage of an enticing opportunity. They were being offered $8,000 per month to take part in a secretive program aimed at bolstering Democratic messaging on the internet.

But the contract sent to them from Chorus, the nonprofit arm of a liberal influencer marketing platform, came with some strings. Among other issues, it mandated extensive secrecy about disclosing their payments and had restrictions on what sort of political content the creators could produce.

In their group chat, influencers debated the details.

“Should we send a joint email (with all of our email addresses) … or, are we just going to send things separately and hope they change everything for everyone?” Laurenzo, a nonbinary creator in Columbus, Ohio, with over 884,000 TikTok followers, asked the group. Some joked about collective bargaining. “Any Newsies fans here?” Eliza Orlins, a public defender and reality TV star known for her appearances on Survivor, posted in the group. “‘We’re a union just by sayin’ so!’”

A Libyan teenager has been arrested following a reported sexual assault near the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

The incident occurred on the night of Monday to Tuesday around 2:40 a.m. when the suspect allegedly dragged the victim behind a bush and assaulted her–according to Le Parisien.

The reportedly Ukrainian victim’s cries drew the attention of a nearby night crime patrol, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect.

Police report that the teen claimed to be 17-year-old Libyan, though authorities are verifying his identity.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.

‘This Is Lawfare’: AGs Draw Attention to Leftist Group Training Judges to Push Climate Alarmism

27th August 2025

Read it.

Twenty-three Republican state attorneys general sent a letter to Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin, demanding the EPA investigate funding for the Environmental Law Institute, which the AGs said attempts to “rig the courts” against American energy.

The EPA confirmed receipt and reiterated Zeldin’s dedication to cutting down on wasteful spending from the previous administration. The EPA canceled two grants to the Environmental Law Institute in May.

“It’s outrageous that the Biden EPA has funneled over a million taxpayer dollars to an organization actively working to sway the judiciary in favor of climate nuisance lawsuits,” Jason Isaac, founder and CEO of the American Energy Institute, told The Daily Signal in a statement Tuesday.

“The Environmental Law Institute’s Climate Judiciary Project isn’t education; it’s a backdoor lobbying effort targeting judges with materials crafted by climate activists and litigation insiders,” Isaac added. “Taxpayer dollars should never bankroll a scheme to rig the courts against American energy. This is the kind of corruption President [Donald] Trump was elected to root out, and it’s time for the EPA to stop the grants.”

Uganda: Land of Opportunity?

27th August 2025

Read it.

Maryland Man Abrego Garcia is reportedly headed to Uganda. His lawyers (he seems to have a bottomless supply of funds for attorneys’ fees and/or big firm pro bono access) persuaded a well-chosen federal judge to block the onset of the lifetime safari that ICE has booked for him. As I understand it, the grounds for the (statutorily groundless) block by a district court are that it would be ever so mean not to take the deportee’s feelings into account, and therefore he should get another chance to take the option to go to Costa Rica that he had previously rejected. A rather weak ruling. So, if the law matters, soon it will be Uganda for Maryland’s own.

The bumbling of the administration–let’s review: 1. The failure to simply go back to the silly 2019 bar against returning him to his home country, armed with the actual facts of the gang issue before an administrative judge to undo the block; 2. The initial screwup of flying him to El Salvador into custody there; and 3. The ham-fisted Tennessee prosecution so tenuous that the judge had to grant bail. This has all been matched by a judicial circus and by the utterly bizarre spectacle of elderly white people mobilized in support of alien criminals, cheering for a man who looks more like the poster boy for the Trump enforcement policy than an appealing victim.

I think Netflix should get involved ASAP. Maryland Man in Uganda could be a fantastic reality series. With his gang experience, Uganda could open major opportunities. That nation has the second-highest criminal activity rating in East Africa and the seventh overall out of 54 African nations. There is a horrifically large volume of human trafficking (Abrego has that on his resume), gang violence (check) and smuggling on grand scale.

But there is no dominant organized crime gang in Uganda, just lots of independent players. A sharp young man with existing contacts with an actual major criminal enterprise (and not just the Democratic Party, and connected big law firms) could be running the place in no time. Don Corleone was only 25 when he shot Fanucci and began his rise. Abrego is only 29. Apparently the entire Ugandan government is on the take, so a film crew documenting the rise of a rising major player in crime carries no risk of arrest and offers the prospect of potentially huge ratings.

And I dare you to argue that my suggestion of a Ugandan Netflix series is any more insane than is the existing Maryland man saga.

The Anniversary of Bush-Trashing Hurricane Katrina ‘News’

27th August 2025

Newsbusters.

One reason that many Republican voters took a shine to Donald Trump in 2016 was the way he showed no respect to the national chattering classes of the Democrat-media complex. George W. Bush was a kinder, gentler Republican – and they compared him to Hitler. No matter which flavor of Republican was elected, the “objective” media savaged him.

We’ve reached the 20th anniversary of deadly Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf of Mexico, which killed an estimated 1,836 Americans. But misinformation landed first. NBC and MSNBC tremendously hyped Democrat Mayor Ray Nagin’s Today show estimate of 10,000 dead in New Orleans.

Appearing on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, NBC anchor Brian Williams offered a sermon: “These were Americans, and everyone watching the coverage all week, that kind of reached its peak last weekend, kept saying the same refrain: How is this happening in the United States? And the other refrain was, ‘Had this been Nantucket, had this been Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, how many choppers would have–’” Then Williams was drowned out by applause.

Williams the serial exaggerator also claimed he could see bodies floating outside his hotel room in the French Quarter, but the New Orleans Advocate reported that the area had been largely spared in the catastrophe and experienced little flooding.

GOP Polling Memo Shows Cornyn Gaining on Paxton in Texas Senate Primary

27th August 2025

Politico, a Voice of the Crust.

Embattled incumbent John Cornyn is gaining steam in the Texas Senate primary, and an internal memo obtained by POLITICO shows Republican leaders want donors to pump money into the race to help the incumbent Senator edge out his rival, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

The Senate Leadership Fund, a top Senate GOP super PAC that drew up the document dated Aug. 26, concedes Cornyn “continues to be a weak candidate who puts the Senate seat at risk in a general election,” but it also said he has considerably closed the gap with Paxton. Previous polling showed him down by an average of about 17 points in public polling.

Polls conducted by Texas Southern University, Emerson College and Echelon Insights show Paxton now has a modest 5 to 8 percentage point advantage. SLF’s latest polling, which was conducted from Aug. 17 to 19, shows Paxton is now leading Cornyn by 8 percentage points.

Paxton comes with a lot of baggage, and people don’t so much like him as they hate the RINO that Cornyn had become. I predict that Cornyn will squeak by, now that he’s had a sufficiently thorough scare.

Jackson Hole’s Parting Advice: Accept Even More Migrants to Offset Demographic Collapse, or Else

27th August 2025

It was first tried in Europe and it was a catastrophic failure as millions of Syrian refugees and various radicalized Islamist overran the continent, sparking a historic right-wing backlash. It was then tried in the US and the record flood of illegal aliens at the southern border cost the Democrats the 2024 election. And now, with the entire world on edge against the growing wave of migrant aliens originating from Africa and the Middle East, the world’s money printing megabrains at Jackson Hole have decided that third time will be the charm.

While doing everything in their power to avoid discussing the Lisa Cook elephant in the room (and literally kicking out anyone who dared to ask how someone who is i) either a criminal or ii) has no idea how to fill out a mortgage is allowed to set the price of the world’s reserve currency) top central bankers gathered at Jackson Hole warned that the world’s largest economies will lack the workers they need to power growth and keep prices stable in the coming decades unless they attract more foreigners. And this calculus doesn’t even include the hundreds of millions of jobs that will be lost to hallucinating chatbots.

Australia Expels Iranian Ambassador in Historic First, Blames IRGC for Anti-Jewish Attacks

27th August 2025

Australia has on Tuesday expelled the Iranian ambassador from the country, which marks the first time it has booted a foreign ambassador of any nation in the post-World War II period. The government has blamed Iran and its intelligence apparatus for directing two antisemitic attacks against Australia’s Jewish community – especially a shocking firebomb attack on a Melbourne synagogue last December.

There was also a fire set at a kosher food business in Sydney in October, prior to the synagogue fire. The Adass Israel synagogue in southeast Melbourne, which is in a heavily Jewish area, was utterly destroyed by the fire.

Female Students Seeking Bathroom Privacy Required to Fill Out ‘Mental Health Accomodation’ Form

27th August 2025

American Greatness.

A California school district has enacted a new rule for young girls who are uncomfortable sharing a bathroom with biological males pretending to be girls, requiring the girls to file a mental health accommodation request.

The Temecula Valley Unified School District TVUSD has reportedly enacted a rule that tells female students who feel uncomfortable sharing bathroom space with biological males must file a mental health accommodation request under federal law if they want privacy.

The move has prompted outrage from parents and others who say that the rule treats those girls who object to sharing private space with biological males as the problem and treating their request for privacy as a type of disability.

3 States Face Federal Cuts Over Trucker English Enforcement

27th August 2025

Read it.

California, Washington, and New Mexico could lose millions of dollars in federal funding if they continue failing to enforce English language requirements for truckers, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Tuesday.

An investigation launched after a deadly Florida crash involving a foreign truck driver who made an illegal U-turn on Aug. 12 found what Duffy called significant failures in how all three states are enforcing rules that took effect in June after one of President Donald Trump’s executive orders. He said the department was already reviewing enforcement before the crash.

Truckers are supposed to be disqualified if they can’t demonstrate English proficiency. Duffy said the driver in the crash should not have been given a commercial driver’s license because of his immigration status. The crash has become increasingly political, with the governors of California and Florida criticizing each other, and Duffy highlighting the administration’s immigration concerns.

Appearing on “Morning Joe” on the cable network President Donald Trump calls “MSDNC” — DNC for Democratic National Committee — Johnson, a progressive Democrat who staunchly defends the city’s sanctuary policies, dodged questions five times about whether more police would help stem crime in Chicago.

“Would you also like to get federal funding to help put 5,000 cops on the streets in Chicago? Would that help drive down crime?” host Joe Scarborough began.

San Francisco Has a Black Market for Housing… That’s as Bad as It Sounds

27th August 2025

Read it.

“Black market” is one of those political smears coined by statists who don’t think people ought to be engaging in voluntary private transactions that are unapproved by the government.

The owners of three single-room occupancy (SRO) hotels in San Francisco’s Chinatown recently settled a lawsuit with the city, agreeing to pay a hefty fine of more than $800,000. Among their alleged crimes was that they “illegally converted, combined or added unauthorized housing units” to their properties.

Note the sin: “unauthorized”.

The allegations expose something that should be humiliating for San Francisco: the development of a black market for housing.

The lawsuit was not San Francisco’s only effort to combat the underground housing market. In recent years, to name a few examples, the city sued a man for cramming 15 tenants into a three-bedroom home and fined a developer $1.2 million for constructing an apartment complex with triple the residential units that city planners had approved.

Note the sin: not what “city planners had approved”.

“Unauthorized dwelling units” have proliferated in San Francisco for decades. Unpermitted “in-law suites” attached to single-family homes are so commonplace that locals sometimes call them “outlaw suites.” As far back as 1993, the city faced a scandal after the head of the Bureau of Building Inspection was caught operating two of these outlaw suites for 10 years. A similar story involving a senior building inspector came to light in 2021.

Note the sins: “unauthorized”, “unpermitted”, “outlaw”.

The leader of a Druze village in the Golan Heights spoke out against the efforts by the world media and the left to dismiss the story of the recent slaughter and raping of his people’s kin in Syria by radical Islamic terrorists and Syrian government forces.

During the Newsmax delegation to Israel, we visited the Ein Qiniyye village on the southern foothills of Mount Hermon, and spoke with Druze mayor Wael Moghrabi about the plight of the Druze people.

Not only did he praise Israel for intervening in Syria to halt the carnage through a bevy of airstrikes, but he emphasized that the attempts by Islamists to exterminate his people underscore why the media and the left whitewashing the story is nothing short of barbaric: “Just like the Nazis in the past, their goal is one: They want to eradicate the Druze community and then they want to eradicate Israel.” He continued, offering up a strong warning to the world media: “They will come with tens of thousands of jihadis to the border with Israel and they will try to eliminate us.”

ABC/CBS/NBC Refuse to Cover Illegal Alien’s Florida Truck Crash, Spend 17 Minutes on Abrego-Garcia

26th August 2025

Newsbusters.

On Friday, Kilmar Abrego-Garcia was released from custody in Tennessee. He returned to Maryland where he was allowed to visit with his family.

On Saturday, the illegal immigrant truck driver — who allegedly killed three people by making an illegal u-turn in Florida — was denied bail and charged with three counts of vehicular homicide and immigration violations.

Care to guess which story ABC, CBS and NBC chose to cover and which one was completely censored?

The case of the truck driver, who came to the U.S. illegally in 2018 via the Southern border, obtained a commercial driver’s license (CDL) in California and Washington, failed an English test and whose work authorization was rejected by the first Trump administration, has YET to be covered on any of the broadcast evening or morning shows.

However, an illegal immigrant case ABC, CBS and NBC can’t get enough of, is their favorite cause celebre of the year.

DNC Criticized Over “Private Agreement” To Continue To Pay Harris’s Debts After The Election

26th August 2025

Read it.

Axios has a story out this week that disclosed that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) continued to pay off the debts from former Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. Over $15 million has already been paid out by the DNC, which is reportedly struggling to raise money in the aftermath of a failed campaign.

Axios described it as a “private agreement” that was not disclosed to donors, who unknowingly contributed to the Harris campaign rather than the campaigns to retake the House and Senate.

The question is whether such private agreements are lawful if not disclosed to donors.

Harris shocked many in burning through over $1.5 billion in her brief 15-week campaign. Donors were irate over wasteful and excessive spending by Harris and her campaign. That has contributed to the poor fundraising figures reported from the DNC.

Hey,  nobody can spend money on nothing like a Democrat.

Minnesota Democrats Are at War Over the “Mamdani of Minneapolis”

26th August 2025

The Nation, a Voice of the Crust.

Anyone who knows the epic history of the Minnesota Democratic Farmer-Labor Party will tell you that its internal politics have often been contentious. But out of that contention have come some of the most dynamic figures to ever grace the national political scene: from presidential candidates Eugene McCarthy, Walter Mondale and Hubert Humphrey to more contemporary leaders on the left, such as the late US Senator Paul Wellstone, former US representative and now Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, and US Representative Ilhan Omar.

The DFL is also a party where grassroots activists have often lifted up political outsiders and activists and put them on paths to prominence. So it wasn’t all that surprising when, on July 19, the Minneapolis DFL endorsed the mayoral campaign of just such a rising star: state Senator Omar Fateh, a democratic socialist who has championed bold efforts to expand affordable housing and rent stabilization, supported a $20-an-hour minimum wage and taken up the cause of unionized and non-unionized workers.

Fateh’s focus on affordability issues and his energetic challenge to Democratic Party lethargy have garnered comparisons to New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani—another young, Muslim, democratic socialist anti-establishment candidate—with some calling Fateh “the Mamdani of Minneapolis.” Fateh has embraced those comparisons. After Mamdani’s landslide victory over former Governor Andrew Cuomo in June’s New York City mayoral primary, Fateh declared, “Minneapolis Next!”

The problem is that Mandami looks like a handsome intelligent South Asian, while Fateh looks like an undernourished ‘aspiring rapper’. Looks matter a lot in politics. Obama wouldn’t have been President had he looked like Maxine Waters.

What Climate Crisis? Weather Channel Reports “Record-Breaking Cold” for August

26th August 2025

Read it.

It must be extraordinarily difficult for leftist corporate media outlets and woke government weather forecasters to admit “record-breaking cold temperatures” or “unseasonably cool air” across parts of the Lower 48 – in August of all months.

August is the prime season when far-left climate NGOs and their political allies, amplified by their MSM propaganda megaphone, usually try to convince everyone of an alleged climate crisis….

Scientists Strip Cancer of Its “Superpower” to Outsmart Drugs

26th August 2025

Read it.

Northwestern University biomedical engineers have developed a completely new approach to cancer therapy that doubled the effectiveness of chemotherapy in animal studies.

Rather than focusing on directly killing cancer cells, this pioneering method stops the cells from adapting in ways that allow them to resist treatment. By blocking this evolutionary escape route, the disease becomes more vulnerable to drugs already in use. The strategy not only nearly eliminated cancer in cell cultures but also greatly enhanced the impact of chemotherapy in mouse models of human ovarian cancer.

A Myopia Epidemic Is Sweeping the Globe. Here’s How to Stop It

26th August 2025

Nature.

The COVID-19 pandemic didn’t just reshape how children learn and see the world. It transformed the shape of their eyeballs.

As real-life classrooms and playgrounds gave way to virtual meetings and digital devices, the time that children spent focusing on screens and other nearby objects surged — and the time they spent outdoors dropped precipitously. This shift led to a notable change in children’s anatomy: their eyeballs lengthened to better accommodate short-vision tasks.

Study after study, in regions ranging from Europe to Asia, documented this change. One analysis from Hong Kong even reported a near doubling in the incidence of pathologically stretched eyeballs among six-year-olds compared with pre-pandemic levels1.

This elongation improves the clarity of close-up images on the retina, the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye. But it also makes far-away objects appear blurry, leading to a condition known as myopia, or short-sightedness. And although corrective eyewear can usually address the issue — allowing children to, for example, see a blackboard or read from a distance — severe myopia can lead to more-serious complications, such as retinal detachment, macular degeneration, glaucoma and even permanent blindness.

Evolution doesn’t give us what we want. It gives us what we appear to need.

How Far Can Gerrymandering Go?

26th August 2025

Power Line.

Maryland Democrats, like those in California, are talking about a mid-census redistricting process to gerrymander their state even further. But the remarkable fact is that Maryland is already gerrymandered to almost the maximum extent possible.

In the 2024 election for the U.S. House, 63% of ballots cast were for Democrats. But, because of the Democrats’ past gerrymandering, 8 of 9 House members–87.5%–are Democrats. Governor Moore is now talking about trying to eliminate the last remaining Republican, so that the 37% of Marylanders who voted for Republicans will have no representation at all.

The Student Debt Racket

26th August 2025

Read it.

The student debt crisis isn’t a natural market phenomenon; it’s the predictable result of decades of government interference. Since 1980, average tuition and fees have increased by 1,200 percent, while consumer price inflation has risen only 236 percent over the same period. This massive increase has left students and families struggling to keep up, often forcing them to take on substantial debt just to attend college. Today, over 42.7 million Americans owe a combined $1.69 trillion in federal student loan debt. A combination of federal policies, including subsidized loans, government grants, bloated university budgets, and a complete lack of accountability, has fueled the relentless rise in tuition costs. As a result, higher education—once seen as a path to opportunity—has become a debt trap for millions.

Social Media Erupts After DNC Speaker Says Migrant Crime, Carjackings ‘Don’t Matter’ to Many Americans

26th August 2025

Read it.

Insha Rahman, vice president of advocacy and partnerships of the far-left criminal justice reform group, Vera Institute of Justice, caused an uproar on social media after she told Democrats on Monday that migrant crime and carjackings “don’t matter to that many Americans.”

During a political strategy session about crime and safety at the Democratic National Committee’s summer meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Rahman urged Democrats to seize on President Donald Trump’s crime crackdown, calling it a “political liability.”

“Trump is not about safety,” Rahman said. “This is a political power grab, and he will do it however he can, whether that’s at the ballot box or taking over our cities.”

While Rahman focused her remarks on how Democrats can reject Republicans’ “tough on crime scare tactics,” the Vera Institute, where the Democratic strategist serves as a senior official, has a long record of supporting defunding the police.

‘Unhinged Judge’ Who Released Abrego Garcia From Jail Blocks His Deportation After ICE Takes Him into Custody

26th August 2025

Newsbusters.

A judge deemed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to be “unhinged” has blocked the deportation of infamous illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia just hours after U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) took him into custody three days after the judge released him from jail.

“An unhinged judge in Maryland ordered [Abrego Garcia’s] release, despite his status as an MS-13 gang member, being indicted by a grand jury for human trafficking, and being subject to arrest under immigration law,” DHS reported on Friday.

On Monday, U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem announced that ICE had taken Abrego Garcia into custody and intended to deport him to Uganda.

Abrego Garcia’s attorneys immediately filed a habeas corpus petition – and Judge Xinis promptly complied, telling DHS that “Your clients are absolutely forbidden at this juncture to remove Mr. Abrego Garcia from the continental United States.”

Judge Xinis also suggested she will block the deportation of Abrego Garcia to Uganda – because it’s not the illegal alien’s “country of choice,” ABC News reports:

The Judicial Calvinball of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson

26th August 2025

Read it.

“I just feel that I have a wonderful opportunity.”

Those words of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson came in a recent interview, wherein the justice explained how she felt liberated after becoming a member of the Supreme Court “to tell people in my opinions how I feel about the issues. And that’s what I try to do.”

Jackson’s sense of liberation has increasingly become the subject of consternation on the court itself, as she unloads on her colleagues in strikingly strident opinions.

Most recently, Jackson went ballistic after her colleagues reversed another district court judge who issued a sweeping injunction barring the Trump Administration from canceling roughly $783 million in grants in the National Institutes of Health.

Again writing alone, Jackson unleashed a tongue-lashing on her colleagues, who she suggested were unethical, unthinking cutouts for Trump. She denounced her fellow justices, stating, “This is Calvinball jurisprudence with a twist. Calvinball has only one rule: There are no fixed rules. We seem to have two: that one, and this administration always wins.”

For some of us who have followed Jackson’s interestingly controversial tenure on the court, it was crushingly ironic. Although Jackson accused her colleagues of following a new rule that they must always rule with Trump, she herself is widely viewed as the very embodiment of the actual rule of the made-up game based on the comic strip of Calvin and Hobbes. In Jacksonian jurisprudence, it often seems like there are no fixed rules, only fixed outcomes. She then attacks her colleagues for a lack of integrity or empathy.

Calais Migrants Board Boats as One In, One Out Scheme Goes Silent

26th August 2025

The Times (UK).

When the news broke that Britain would take asylum seekers safely from France under a new deal, Ali believed it was his chance to reunite with his family.

Several weeks later, standing on Gravelines beach, Ali, an Iranian, shrugged in defeat as he watched migrants get thrown in the water. Hundreds departed on an estimated six boats on Monday after ten days of bad weather caused a lull in crossings.

Ali, who declined to give his last name, has family in Newcastle whom he had hoped to join. He applied online to the new one in, one out scheme on August 7, but has heard nothing since.

Airport Boss Blasts Wealth Taxes and ‘Wokery’ in Starmer’s Britain

26th August 2025

The Times (UK).

He is the boss of one of the UK’s busiest private airports and spends his days catering to Hollywood celebrities and global pop stars. Will Curtis, however, has Sir Keir Starmer in his sights.

Curtis, the managing director of London Oxford airport and London Heliport, claims Britain has become “borderline uninvestable” under Labour.

He said the consensus among ultra-high-net-worth individuals was that “ever-increasing taxation” and “misguided regulation” has led to millionaires not seeing the UK as an attractive place to invest in any more.
