June 17, 2025, the recent 53rd anniversary of the Watergate break-in, should remind us of the scandal’s scurrilous aftermath. What was promised to be a new millennium of aggressive, yet punctilious, journalism turned out to be a continuation of the Washington Post‘s reckless, essentially untruthful, Watergate reporting, clearly biased in favor of Democrats.
No surprises there.
While Republicans in the wake of Watergate vowed to be beyond reproach, like Caesar’s wife, they were indeed generally rectitudinous but yet continued the same stupidity that ruined the Nixon administration. Because neither side addressed these failures, they persist today.
We have written extensively about the Post‘s fraud during Watergate, but not enough about the Nixon Administration’s idiocy in dealing with what should have been nothing more than an embarrassing dustup.

As President Donald Trump and his administration work on expanding deportation operations, the White House is reporting that blue-collar workers have seen the most significant growth in wages in over half a century.
“In President Donald Trump’s first five months in office, real wages for hourly workers have seen their largest increase under any administration in nearly 60 years—and we’re just getting started with pro-growth, pro-prosperity policies that finally put America First,” the White House reported this week. Blue-collar American workers have seen an increase of 1.7% in real wages over the past five months.
The only other times blue-collar workers have seen any rise in wages during the first five months of a presidency in the last 56 years was under the first Trump administration (1.3%) and Richard Nixon’s administration in 1969 (0.8%).

I would have phrased that “do anything right”, but that’s me.
California, it turns out, is a ridiculous place, run by ridiculous people, with ridiculous regulations. Or, as the folks at Rand put it, “The average market-rate apartment in California is roughly two and a half times the cost of a similar apartment constructed in Texas on a square-foot basis—and regional differences within California, where costs in the San Francisco Bay Area are roughly 50 percent higher than costs in San Diego.” Additionally, “[t]he time to bring a project to completion in California is more than 22 months longer than the average time required in Texas.” According to Rand, the culprit for these grotesque disparities is, to no one’s surprise, the differences in regulatory burdens between Texas and California and between various jurisdictions within the (allegedly) Golden State.
They call it the Golden State because they keep pissing in their own soup.

Belgian conservative-nationalist Dries Van Langenhove has again been sentenced on appeal to one year in prison as a suspended sentence for what the judge said were violations of the Racism and Negationism Act.
We’ll give you a ‘suspended sentence’ so that if you open your mouth wrong we can sling you in jail without any bother.
The sentence stems from racist memes that were not even posted by him, but by members of a group chat he administrated seven years ago.
The sentence was delivered today by the Court of Appeal in Ghent, although Van Langenhove does not accept the sentence, and the case now goes into cassation.

Then The New York Times’s, er, heart-throbbing excuse for a news item over crown prince Alex’s wedding to corrupt former Hillary Clinton aide and disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner’s ex-wife Huma Abedin could probably serve as Exhibit A. NGOs and connected insiders have made a small fortune on “green” initiatives. As dam removal projects fail to deliver on the restorative promises of west coast governors, devastated agricultural communities are beginning to follow the green trail and ask, “Cui bono?”
The video, criticizing the removal of four dams along the Klamath River—the largest such project in U.S. history—addresses how an “ungodly amount” of sediment unleashed decimated fish habitats, and a rural agricultural economy while undermining the stated goal of restoring the river’s ecosystem.
Siskiyou County, California resident and farmer, Theodora Johnson, accuses environmental NGOs like American Rivers and government entities of hypocrisy, after decades of shutting down timber and mining operations due to fears of sediment release. Johnson argues that regulations, intended to protect fish and wildlife, destroyed rural economies, while releasing an estimated 16.8 million tons of sediment, silt, clay, and heavy metals such as aluminum, chromium, and lead—killing off fish populations for decades to come.

Protesters marched through central London with placards in support of Iran’s supreme leader during a heated pro-Palestinian demonstration on Saturday
Among thousands of demonstrators waving Palestinian and Iranian flags, men and women were photographed carrying signs featuring Ayatollah Ali Khamenei alongside the message: “Choose the right side of history.”
Pro-Palestinian marches have taken place almost weekly in cities across the UK since the October 7 attacks by Hamas on Israel.
But this was the second consecutive weekend in which the Palestinian flag appeared alongside Iran’s red, white and green tricolour at a pro-Gaza demonstration in London.
The usual “end the genocide” and “stop arming Israel” banners were joined by those supporting the Iranian regime. “Free Palestine, hands off Iran,” one banner said.

The U.S. has directly entered the war against Iran, striking three nuclear facilities, President Donald Trump announced via social media. The attack came on the ninth day of the Israel-Iran war in which Israeli forces have been attacking Iranian nuclear weapons facilities among other targets, including ballistic missile launchers, air defense systems, military leaders, and nuclear scientists.
…
Trump did not say how the facilities were attacked. However, as we explained earlier today, at least two separate groups of B-2 Spirit stealth bombers were heading westward across the Pacific Ocean. The destination was unclear, and it’s possible other B-2s were sent clandestinely to hit the targets. Other aircraft could also have been involved. However, B-2s carrying 30,000-pound GBU-57/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bunker buster bombs are widely seen as the only readily available conventional option for targeting the deeply-buried enrichment facility at Fordo, in particular, short of a ground raid.
…
Sean Hannity, Fox News commentator and close friend to Trump, has stated that the strike included six weapons dropped from B-2s on Fordow, and the other two sites were struck by Tomahawk land attack cruise missiles. We cannot confirm this, but it’s the first thing we have heard detailing the assets used.

“NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” Trump concluded.

Everyone seems to want to break down silos. They are monsters to be destroyed. In consultant-speak, silos stand for isolation, inefficiency, and a myopic refusal to collaborate. The “silo mentality” is a dysfunctional reluctance to share information. In universities, silos are the cause of duplicated efforts, internal competition, and the failure to innovate to serve the customer-student.
Everything about this view is wrong. In the AI era, the responsibility of researchers and specialists to preserve domain-specific knowledge with integrity, to keep going deep while others go broad, will be more important than ever. The universities that protect disciplinary silos are the ones who will thrive.
In fact, the metaphor makes my case. A real, physical silo is a marvel of functional design. Silos store and protect grain. Silos preserve quality and integrity. Without silos, grain rots. A silo is a sanctuary. Its purpose is preservation, not isolation.
Much like the canard Diversity Is Our Strength. Diversity is actually a weakness, promoting division, suspicion, and cliquishness.

A series of changes to long-running federal student loan programs tucked into the Republican tax plan has doctors panicked and struggling to find GOP allies.
The Senate education committee’s portion of President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful” bill includes a new cap on how much people can borrow for medical school and other professional programs that is well below the sticker price most students are facing. Lawmakers are also proposing to nix a class of federal loans graduate students use to cover housing and other non-tuition expenses.
For low-income and first-generation college students with aspirations of becoming physicians, these plans, if enacted, could squash their dreams, according to medical college leaders. As the full Senate irons out the bill and Trump rattles school finances with funding freezes, doctors’ groups are asking Congress to preserve the more generous loan options or risk a sharp drop in who’s studying medicine — a profession that’s already facing a shortage.
I don’t see in the Constitution where it’s the government’sz–or the taxpayers’– responsibility to pay for the dreams of low-income or first-generation college students wanting to go to med school. If they can’t pay, they can’t have; same as with buying a Bugatti. The reason med school is so expensive is that they jacked the prices up, knowing that the government (i.e. the taxpayers) foot the bill. Without that subsidy, the prices with either come down or they’ll be whistling for students. We are facing a shortage of doctors because (a) the price of med school is too high, and (b) the government and the medical profession put all sorts of road-blocks in the way of building more medical schools.

It seems many still harbor, or want to perpetuate, the illusion that our Social Security system is not in trouble.
Let me quote here from a press release from the Social Security Administration released March 31, 2023:
“The Social Security Board of Trustees today released its annual report on the financial status of the Social Security Trust Funds. The combined asset reserves of the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance and Disability Insurance (OASI and DI) Trust Funds are projected to become depleted in 2034, one year earlier than projected last year, with 80% of benefits payable at that time.”
In 2034, per the report, “if Congress does not act before then … there would be sufficient income coming in to pay 80% of scheduled benefits.”
It couldn’t be clearer. In 10 years, with no action from Congress, everyone will begin receiving 80% of what they are currently receiving, or promised, under the existing Social Security system.
Can anyone imagine getting a notice from a private retirement provider saying that in 10 years all beneficiaries will begin receiving 80% of what they were promised?
How did we get into this situation? It’s the wonders of government planning, of socialism.
Every entitlement program eventually leads to insolvency, because resources are limited but demand is unlimited. The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.

he 2009 discovery of footprints (human and animal) left behind in layers of clay and silt at New Mexico’s White Sands National Park sparked a contentious debate about when, exactly, human cultures first developed in North America. Until about a decade ago, it seemed as if the first Americans arrived near the end of the last Ice Age and were part of the Clovis culture, named for the distinctive projectile points they left behind near what’s now Clovis, New Mexico. But various dating methods indicated the White Sands footprints are 10,000 years older. Now there is a fresh independent analysis that agrees with those earlier findings, according to a new paper published in the journal Science Advances.

A coalition of New York City Democrats has begun maneuvering to ensure the state’s nearly 2 million illegal aliens will be counted in the 2030 census, The New York Times reported this week.
In January, Republicans at the state and national level initiated efforts to stop the counting of illegal migrants when determining a state’s population. If successful, Democrats stand to lose several congressional seats, particularly in states such as California and New York, each of which is home to millions of illegal aliens.
Now, several of New York’s elected officials are coming together to figure out how to stop the GOP’s plans. Councilwoman Julie Menin, a Democrat from Manhattan’s East Side, hosted a discussion in April at New York Law School on how to count city residents accurately.

The Michigan Law Review selects student editors based on race and gender. It discriminates against white authors in favor of women and minorities. And it tells editors to avoid citing white men whenever possible—instructing them to “use your best efforts to locate a source that gives voice to historically marginalized identities.”
Those are some of the allegations in a lawsuit filed this week against the University of Michigan and its flagship law review. Represented by former Texas solicitor general Jonathan Mitchell, the plaintiffs include three scholars who have submitted manuscripts to the law review as well as a student who applied to be an editor.
The complaint alleges that the journal uses “race and sex preferences to select its members and articles” in violation of federal law. It also includes internal documents that shed light on the journal’s diversity policies, such as a production manual from the journal’s most recent volume.

A federally funded left-wing nonprofit that provides legal services for detained illegal immigrants has launched a bond fund that frees them from ICE custody.
Immigrant Defenders Law Center (ImmDef) partnered with Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice (CLUE Justice) to establish the Detained Immigrant Bond Fund on June 7, one day after violent anti-ICE protests broke out in Los Angeles. The fund provides “detained immigrants in Los Angeles and Orange Counties with the bond money that allows them to get out of detention, and return back to their lives and families while they build a case to gain status,” the announcement page reads.
Through the partnership, ImmDef identifies detained immigrants eligible for release and CLUE Justice, another federally funded nonprofit, pays their bonds through donations. ImmDef then provides them with free legal services, the group wrote in an Instagram post promoting the project.
Why are illegal immigrants allowed bond in the first place? If anybody is a ‘flight risk’, it’s an illegal immigrant.

Washington Post journalist Evan Hill let his biases show in a dangerous way Thursday in a series of posts covering damages in Israel following Iranian bombing. While other reporters might show their bias through one-sided stories or fake news, Hill’s X posts could ultimately cost people their lives, all because he decided to share the precise coordinates of the Iranian missile strike.

Vox, a Voice of the Woke.
Four years ago, America was on the cusp of the largest expansion of its welfare state since the 1960s.
Under Joe Biden in 2021, House Democrats passed legislation that would have established a monthly child allowance for most families, an expansion of Medicaid’s elder care services, federal child care subsidies, universal prekindergarten, and a paid family leave program, among other new social benefits.
But that bill failed — and then, so did Biden’s presidency.
Now, Republicans are on the brink of enacting the largest cut to public health insurance in American history. And the outlook for future expansions of the safety net looks dimmer than at any time in recent memory.

The New York Times, a Voice of the Crust.
A French member of Parliament has urged American authorities to reverse a decision to deny him entry to the United States, after he said they rejected his request for a visa to meet with progressive lawmakers and intellectuals about life under the Trump presidency.
Pouria Amirshahi, a member of the Green party, said he had planned to travel to Washington D.C., New York and Boston this month. The trip was supposed to be the first taken by a member of La Digue, or The Dike, a group that he created a month ago with a handful of other leftist and centrist French lawmakers, to “counter the spread of neo-fascism” in liberal democracies.
At a news conference at the French National Assembly on Thursday morning, Mr. Amirshahi said he had told U.S. authorities that the purpose of his trip was to ask lawmakers, activists, professors and journalists to understand “what the new situation was in the country since Mr. Trump came to power.”
He was set to meet with progressive lawmakers, he said, including Senator Peter Welch, Democrat of Vermont, and Representative Maxine Dexter, Democrat of Oregon. But, he said, on Tuesday, he was told that his visa application had been rejected.
Does anyone doubt that he wants in the U.S. to meet with Trump-haters and cause trouble? Why not just let an ayatollah come in and wander around for a few weeks?

Really, how much does this differ from what a venture capitalist does? VCs invest in promising entities knowing that a lot of them will fail, in the hope that the ones who win will win big.

In her New York Post Devine Online newsletter, Miranda Devine draws attention to a statement from President Trump that seems worthy of more attention than it has received. Devine quoted Trump speaking at a ceremony at the White House Wednesday where he had a near 100-foot flagpole installed, Asked by a reporter what gave him the idea for the giant flag, he replied: “I’ve had it for a long time. The first time I had it, you guys [the media] were after me and I said, ‘I had to focus.’”
“I was the hunted,” Trump said of his first term, “and now I’m the hunter. It’s a big difference.”

There is a frightening trend in Hamburg’s schools: Muslim pupils are putting pressure on and harassing their non-Muslim classmates.
There have been reports of girls being bullied for dressing femininely and not wearing a headscarf; others have been called ‘pig-eaters,’ and are now wary of eating their sandwiches during break between lessons.
A father says he felt compelled to enrol his son in a new school because the old school made the mistake of concentrating many Muslim children in one class—with the result being that the few “non-believers” were bullied.
A Jewish man says his daughter was intimidated and physically attacked by Muslim classmates, and called a “cockroach” by one of the Muslim girls and her mother.
Some Muslim pupils are reportedly refusing to participate in music lessons, claiming they are “haram,” or forbidden under Islam.
According to local reports, Islamist influence is being spread through TikTok and Instagram by groups like ‘Muslim Interaktiv,’ leading to noticeable behavioural changes in some children.
Islamism expert Ahmad Mansour, a psychologist with Palestinian roots, said that the political leaders of the liberal northern German city were trivializing the problem; they “do not want to see the radicalization among the pupils.”
Teachers are also unwilling to tackle the problem out of fear that they will be “labeled racist or right-wing.”
According to Ahmad Mansour, the problem exists “not only in Hamburg, but in the whole of Germany.” There is a small but very active group of students of Muslim faith “who loudly represent their religious convictions.”

Marseille, once a celebrated port city, is now a symbol of urban decay, state failure, and the collapse of France’s internal borders. Today known as the capital of heroin trafficking of Europe, it has transformed into the epicenter of a gang war that is drenching its working-class neighborhoods in blood. Narco is the boss; bullets are its language.
In 2023 alone, 49 people were killed in drug-related score-settling. Nearly all were gunned down. Some were minors. Others were bystanders caught in the crossfire. A 10-year-old boy in Nîmes, a 24-year-old law student in her bedroom in Marseille: collateral victims of a system in ruins. The housing project of La Paternelle, in the northern part of the city, symbolizes this tragedy. There, the DZ Mafia and Yoda clans fought fiercely for control of a single drug-dealing spot, generating tens of thousands of euros daily.
The business is profitable. The labor force is abundant. Most of these young people are recruited through social media, often from small towns or Parisian banlieues, and are underage immigrants, lured by the promise of easy money, brand-name clothes, and status. “I started at 16 earning €500 a day,” says one of them. But once they try to leave, they discover they are trapped: they face fake debts, threats, kidnappings, torture, and modern-day slavery. The drug trade doesn’t forgive.

Last week, the Trump White House hosted PragerU CEO Marissa Streit to launch a patriotic exhibit called “The Founders Museum,” a joint effort involving the White House, PragerU, and the Department of Education.
That seems a rather odd thing for an “antigovernment extremist group” to do, yet that’s exactly the label the Southern Poverty Law Center applies to PragerU. According to the SPLC, this nonprofit, best known for its five-minute educational videos, secretly works to “protect white supremacy” and belongs on a “hate map” with chapters of America’s most notorious hate group, the Ku Klux Klan.
The SPLC’s ire against PragerU comes as no surprise. After all, the SPLC has a long track record of putting mainstream conservative and Christian nonprofits on its “hate map,” and PragerU’s videos spread far and wide, encouraging Americans to defend family values, free markets, systems based on merit rather than identity—in short, the virtues of America.
This patriotism explains why PragerU is celebrating America’s 250th anniversary at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, so why does the SPLC hate it so much?

More than 400 asylum seekers have arrived on the remote island of Gavdos near Crete within the past 24 hours, according to the Greek coastguard.
Over 350 of the migrants were rescued from a fishing boat detected by an EU border agency (Frontex) vessel on Thursday, June 19. The rescue operation, coordinated by the Greek coastguard, involved assistance from four nearby cargo ships.
In a statement, the coastguard confirmed: “The asylum seekers arrived in separate groups over the last 24 hours, with the largest including over 350 people off Gavdos.”
Earlier that morning, another group of about 40 migrants was found on the island’s coastline. They were also relocated to a temporary reception centre in Paleochora, Crete, where all the arrivals will undergo registration and identification.
No details have been released about the migrants’ nationalities.
Greece remains one of the EU’s primary entry points for asylum seekers, with over 14,000 arriving by sea so far this year, compared to more than 54,000 in 2024, according to UN figures.
The small island of Gavdos, located south of Crete at the EU’s external border, has seen a sharp rise in migrant landings in recent months. The increase is reportedly linked to shifting smuggling routes now targeting less monitored entry points.
I’d let them sit there and starve. But that’s me.

The health and well-being of Americans are under attack from Mexico. We have spent hundreds of millions of federal dollars in a largely futile effort to block the billions of gallons of raw sewage and toxic chemicals dumped into the Tijuana River by an irresponsible third-world neighbor. The Mexican government has pledged, but not yet delivered, a reduction of only a fraction of that amount.
Mexico’s inefficient water use now routinely puts them in violation of their obligations to Texas agriculture under the 1944 Water Rights Treaty.
On immigration, crime and mutual security, Mexico’s current president seems to believe that the 5% of her country’s economy comprised entirely of remittances from Mexicans living and working (certainly not all legally) in the USA is an entitlement with zero reciprocal obligations.
Victor Davis Hanson has chronicled the uniformly negative impact of the importation of Mexican cultural dispositions towards law, vehicle liability insurance, property rights and waste disposal. Cartels run Mexican towns and regions with impunity.
Parasitic losers waving Mexican flags while rioting in our decaying urban centers are more reflective of their nation of origin than they realize.

Members of the extremist Palestine Action group have infiltrated an RAF base in Oxfordshire and caused damage to two British military planes.
The group condemned the UK for sending military cargo to Israel, flying spy planes over Gaza, and refuelling U.S./Israeli fighter jets, and added that “by decommissioning two military planes, Palestine Action have directly intervened to break the chains of oppression.”
Palestine Action sprayed red paint into the engines of two Airbus Voyager aircraft after breaking into RAF Brize Norton. The group said they had used repurposed fire extinguishers to spray paint at the engines and used crow bars to cause further damage.
This is a serious security breach and highlights the extent to which pro-Hamas sympathisers in western countries are willing to go to cause havoc.
Mark Francois, shadow armed forces minister, said there are “serious questions” for the Ministry of Defence to answer about how “protesters, who might even have turned out to be armed terrorists, were able to gain access to what is supposed to be a secure RAF airbase.”
Imagine how peaceful the world would be if the Religion of Peace didn’t exist.
