The legacy media’s coverage of the recent arrival of 49 white refugees from South Africa shows a lamentable hypocrisy compared with its reporting on the previous four years of the mass release of illegal immigrants at the border, their mass parole, and lax enforcement of immigration and deportation laws within our nation.

Unlike the border influx, which was from 180-plus countries, this small group was comprised of Afrikaners—the descendants of Dutch and other Europeans who started arriving in South Africa in 1652. (They are also called Boers, from the Dutch word for “farmer.”)

For years, the media parroted the Biden administration’s line that the millions of people he let in—who skewed young and male—were all deserving of our refuge. They hardly questioned the dogma that every one of these millions was persecuted—and innocent of any crime himself—back in his home country. Yet a recent Washington Post article (along with many others) covering the arrival of the Afrikaners in the United States was highly skeptical of their asylum claims.

A Florida woman has been charged with battery for allegedly assaulting a 72-year-old man who was wearing a Make America Great Again hat, reports Fox News.

Florida police say Laura Garrett, 33, assaulted Garry Gama in the community of Largo on Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. She was also charged with battery on a police office and obstructing or resisting arrest.

“The defendant and the 72-year-old victim were at the park when a verbal argument broke out between them regarding the victim wearing a ‘MAGA’ hat,” an affidavit read.

Major defense contractor Lockheed Martin announced Thursday that it will phase out employee resource groups, which divide workers along racial, LGBTQ, and activism lines, after President Donald Trump’s recent executive orders and after shareholders expressed concern about an anti-Christian double standard.

“As we shared in January, Lockheed Martin took immediate action to ensure compliance with President Trump’s Executive Order 14173, encouraging merit-based talent management practices within U.S. companies,” Lockheed Martin Chairman, President, and CEO Jim Taiclet said in an email to staff shared with The Daily Signal.

The executive order, issued Jan. 21, declared that “diversity, equity, and inclusion” efforts in the federal government, companies, the medical industry, higher education, and other places can violate federal civil rights laws, which bar discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin. The order directs federal agencies to encourage the private sector “to end illegal DEI discrimination and preferences.”

In the order’s wake, Lockeed Martin “conducted a thorough review of our efforts to recruit, retain, and promote the best aerospace and defense talent in the world to ensure full alignment with the executive order and our core values—Do What’s Right, Respect Others, and Perform with Excellence,” Taiclet shared.

Broadcast networks ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS still have yet to utter a single word about the radical left-wing politics of the man who allegedly gunned down two Israeli embassy employees on Wednesday evening in Washington D.C. In the first 24 hours after the attack, across their live-streaming and flagship morning and evening news programs, all of these networks, as well as MSNBC, stubbornly concealed both the shooter’s political leanings — including his membership with the radical left-wing Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) — from their audiences.

MRC analysts looked at all news coverage on left-leaning cable (CNN and MSNBC) and broadcast networks from 6:00 a.m. ET on Thursday through 8:59 a.m. ET Friday. Across all six channels, the only anchor, guest, or reporter to admit the alleged shooter was “left-wing” (or any similar terminology; see below for all search terms) was CNN’s Jake Tapper. Nobody else on CNN, let alone on MSNBC or any of the broadcast networks, cared to tie the attack to the political left.

Likewise, both the broadcast networks and MSNBC have completely hidden the alleged perpetrator’s PSL membership, once again making CNN the only network that even came close to doing its job of reporting the news.

The British Government recently barred French writer Renaud Camus from entering the UK.

His crime?

Not actual incitement, not violence, not lawbreaking, but a controversial idea.

Camus, originator of the ‘Great Replacement’ theory, was scheduled to speak at a Big Remigration Conference organised by the Homeland Party, as well as at the Oxford Union. His Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) had been approved. Then, abruptly, it was revoked. The Home Office declared that his visit was “not conducive to the public good”.

Meanwhile, Julius Malema, a South African political figure who openly sings “Kill the Boer” at rallies, glorifies racial violence and promotes land expropriation without compensation, was welcomed.

After three years of negotiations, delegates to the World Health Organization’s annual meeting have adopted a global pandemic agreement that threatens national sovereignty, requires the transfer of vaccines during global pandemics, asks nations to fight “misinformation,” and authorizes such “social measures” as lockdowns and mask mandates.

The 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland, adopted the final text of the WHO Pandemic Agreement on Tuesday by consensus. The United States sent no representatives to the proceedings for the first time since 1948, while WHO crafted the global governance document with the assistance of 180 delegates from China, possibly the largest Chinese Communist Party delegation in history.

The pandemic agreement “is intended to create a rules-based, future-proof system that will stand the test of time,” stated France’s ambassador for global health, Anne-Claire Amprou, on Monday.

While the delegates eliminated some of the most egregious language contained in previous renditions of the pact, the final document still contains the worst provisions critics said violate national sovereignty.

Pending further negotiations, the agreement still requires nations to provide WHO with a target of “20% of their real time production of safe, quality, and effective vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics.”

The agreement stipulates that each nation “shall” impose “social measures during pandemics.” The World Health Organization defines “social measures” to include “physical distancing,” “mask-wearing,” and “contact tracing, isolation, and quarantine.”

The WHO “has been especially aggressive in taking away our freedom, imposing the China Model during 2020-2021: lockdowns, quarantines, closure of schools and churches, mask mandates, ‘vaccine’ mandates and ‘vaccine’ passports,” notes the manifesto of the Anti-Globalist International, founded by human rights activist Reggie Littlejohn.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lashed out on Thursday night at world leaders for spreading “Hamas’s propaganda” that Israel is starving Palestinian children, which culminated in the killing of two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, D.C.

“A few days ago, a top U.N. official said that 14,000 Palestinian babies would die in 48 hours. You see many international institutions are complicit in spreading this lie,” Netanyahu said in a video posted on X.

“The press repeats it. The mob believed it. And a young couple is then brutally gunned down in Washington,” the premier said, referencing victims Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, who were shot and killed outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington on Wednesday night.

Tom Wolfe’s much-quoted adage is that “the dark night of fascism is always descending on America but always lands in Europe.” In a similar vein, one can say that the authorities and the press are always looking for “domestic terrorism” on the right, but in fact, it consistently comes from the left.

The latest left-wing terrorist is Elias Rodriguez. Rodriguez was obsessed with Israel and chanted “Free, free Palestine” after murdering Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, just as if he were participating in a demonstration at Columbia. He left behind a self-justification on Twitter in which he called Israel a “genocidal apartheid state,” a sentiment that could have come from a number of members of Congress. Israel is so evil, according to Rodriguez, that “to many Americans,” murdering Israelis is “in some funny way, the only sane thing to do.”

As is generally the case these days, Rodriguez’s hatred of Israel (and, I assume, Jews in general) was squarely located in a left-wing context. He was a member of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, which is now distancing itself from his murders. He participated in at least one Chicago demonstration sponsored by the Communist organization International ANSWER. In his Twitter self-glorification, Rodriguez praised just one other anti-Zionist, Aaron Bushnell. Bushnell was the Air Force member who set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in Washington. Bushnell, too, was a leftist. The New York Times says that Bushnell threw “himself into leftist and anarchist activism, talking often about alleviating poverty and opposing capitalism.”

Following revelations that German police statistics often categorise crimes committed by left-wing radicals as “right-wing,” it has now been revealed that migrants’ abuse of one another is also inexplicably classified as “right-wing.”

According to news outlet Nius.de, if a Syrian insults an Iraqi, and calls him a “dirty Kurd” or physically attacks him in a refugee shelter, police consider it to be a politically motivated “right-wing” crime.

It does not matter that the perpetrator is an asylum seeker himself without any connection to the right-wing extremist scene and without any connections to Germany.

Police have clarified that a total of 7,568 so-called “xenophobic” crimes were committed last year, of which 196 cases (2.6% of all cases) were linked to foreign nationals.

Though this may seem like a small number, Nius.de asks the questions: how many of these crimes were committed by migrants with German passports whose cultural background or socialisation has nothing to do with the classic right-wing extremist scene?

The more naturalisations take place—and the more diverse society becomes—the less the term “German citizenship” says anything about cultural background or political opinions.

As we reported, the newly released crime statistics are in many ways absurd: it was revealed that even when left-wing radicals vandalise a poster of a conservative politician and spray it with graffiti depicting a swastika, it is classified as “right-wing” crime.

Another day, another couple of knife attacks by migrants in Germany: this time by children as young as eleven.

An 11-year old Iraqi boy stabbed a 13-year old German boy on Thursday, May 22nd, in the western city of Remscheid.

According to media reports, three boys had arranged a brawl after school but the situation got out of hand, as one of them, the 11-year old Iraqi, took out a knife and stabbed his schoolmate two times in the leg.

The victim suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries. The weapon was a 6 centimetre-long kitchen knife.

The perpetrator fled the scene of the crime together with the third boy, before he was arrested by the police near his home.

The stabbing in Remscheid wasn’t the only such incident on Thursday.

In the morning, a 13-year-old boy “of Arab or Kurdish origin” stabbed his classmate after an argument in physical education class at a primary school in Berlin.

The victim, an eleven-year-old, survived with serious injuries and had to undergo emergency surgery.

In 2024, Berlin police identified a total of 117 children as perpetrators in a knife attack.

With the huge influx of migrants, knife attacks have become a daily occurrence in Germany. According to Messerinzidenz, a website in Germany devoted to recording the number of knife attacks that happen in the country, there have been around 1,500 such incidents already this year.

This weekend is the official launch of summer in America. It does not feel like the first weekend of summer, but that is probably due to the weather. It has been cool and rainy here for most of spring. Even so, it is the start of the summer season. That means the A-list fabricators will be taking off, leaving the media mendacity to the second string for the next few months. The quality of lies will be low.

It will be interesting to see if the Trump admin maintains the pace. The last four months has been a whirlwind. This week we got the South Africa stuff, which is one of those things that no one thought possible six months ago. The Overton window is moving so quickly it is hard to keep up with it. Now that official Washington is heading off for the summer, it will be interesting to see if the admin takes a break

The other thing to watch for this summer is if the crazies get brought out of storage to riot somewhere. If you scan Bluesky, they are depressed. The money dried up and then the jobs dried up. Now they are left to trade scare stories to one another in the weird echo chamber that is Bluesky. If it is an Orange Man Summer, the fever swamp could be on suicide watch by August.

American officials usually accuse China of trying to take over our manufacturing, but that’s old news. China took over our manufacturing long ago. And the parts it still hasn’t taken over are usually the parts that it doesn’t want or that are too uneconomical to be worth taking over.

Taking over America’s manufacturing was never China’s endgame. Taking over our economy is.

Undercutting, stealing and dumping its way to manufacturing supremacy was how China got its foot in our door. Americans came to think of China as an assembly line for cheap junk, but the cheap junk built China’s production capacity. The next step was moving up to components for bigger products and then the products themselves. Once the components were being made in China, it made more sense for the companies to simplify by moving everything to China.

New York University’s Transit Costs Project has been asking the question, “Why do U.S. transit projects cost so much more than similar projects in Europe, Asia, and South America?” A recent report from the project proposes to significantly speed up trains in Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor for only $12.5 billion (plus another $4.5 billion for new rolling stock), which is far less than Amtrak’s proposal to spend at least $110 billion in the same corridor.

Amtrak’s plan called for building a new line for the entire 457 miles between Boston and Washington. The Transit Cost Project’s plan instead proposes to fix specific bottlenecks on the current line. The result, says the project, would be trains that could travel between New York and either Boston or Washington in less than two hours, as opposed to 3 hours (New York-Washington) to 3-2/3 hours (New York-Boston) today.

The most important lesson from this report is that it inadvertently answers the original question: why are U.S. costs so high? That answer is that U.S. transit agencies, including Amtrak, always seek the high-cost solution to any problem. They have no incentive to make a profit because doing so would lead Congress and the states to reduce their operating subsidies. They have no incentive to find affordable solutions to any problem because they regard the federal government and state taxpayers as bottomless pits of money.

Disassembling and “deleting” federal agencies is proving to be a difficult task for the Trump administration, which has been working to slash bureaucratic red tape and federal spending, especially for left-wing radicalism like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Unlike some of the intermediate steps President Trump has taken through Executive Order, truly closing an agency will require a 60-person majority in a Senate vote, a tall order with only 53 Republicans in the upper chamber.

But there are still some low-hanging fruits left for the administration to pick. Chiefly, it can end relationships with all professional societies promoting principles of DEI and radical gender ideology.

Maybe that’s why Trudeau is reportedly getting not one but two pensions, and a $104,000 severance, totaling more than $8 million, according to the Toronto Sun.

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) released a chart Wednesday estimating pension and severance payouts for departing MPs.

“Pensions for former MPs depend on length of service and the rules at the time,” said CTF National Director Franco Terrazzano. “When Canadians see some of these numbers, the clear takeaway is that these political pensions are costing taxpayers too much money.”

The Sun writes that Former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is eligible for two pensions: one for nearly 17 years as an MP and another for his 10 years as PM. Together, they’re valued at about $8.4 million. Starting at age 55, he’ll receive $141,000 annually from his MP pension, and another $73,000 a year from his PM pension when he turns 67.

What appears as consensus is actually assigned opinion enforced by media and political power, as “conspiracy theories” used to silence dissent are proving to be true.

Gun rights groups celebrated Thursday morning after the House narrowly passed President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” in a 215–214 vote. Organizations like Gun Owners of America praised the legislation for including the Constitutional Hearing Protection Act (CHPA), which eliminates both the federal registration requirement and the $200 tax on firearm suppressors. The provision drew sharp criticism from anti-gunners and leftist media outlets as the bill now heads to the Senate.

Just so you know: There is no such thing as a ‘silencer’. Every movie you’ve ever watched lied to you about this.

Suppressors merely reduce the noise that a firearm makes – the working of the action is still quite loud, and (unless you are using subsonic ammunition) the bullet will still cause a ‘sonic boom’ when traveling through the air. The Treasury Department will follow through on President Donald Trump’s order to stop producing pennies, Newsmax has confirmed.

New pennies will cease being put into circulation by early next year, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

Businesses eventually will need to begin rounding up or down to the nearest 5 cents due to not enough pennies being available for everyday cash transactions, the Treasury said.

Who uses actual pennies? The only time I see pennies In Real Life is in the little Give A Penney Get A Penny dish by company cash registers.

The Mint projects an annual savings of $56 million in reduced material costs by ending penny production.

Which ought to have been done a decade ago when it became plain that the penny was a useless coin. When I was a child in the 1950s a penny could actually buy something – but the steady drip-drip-drip of inflation has reduced its value to insignificance.

Chicago native Elias Rodriguez, 30, held a red keffiyeh and shouted, “Free, free Palestine,” as he was being taken into custody after shooting Sarah Lynn Milgrim and her fiancé, Yaron Lischinsky.

The question that nobody is asking, and certainly the question that Elias Ridriguez never spent a second considering, is how shooting two Israelis in the back in Washington, D.C., is going to ‘help Gaza’? Anybody with two brain cells to rub together ought to realize that this is one of the worst things than anyone could do to ‘help Gaza’. It merely reinforces the notion that the inhabitants of Gaza (who overwhelmingly support Hamas), and their ‘supporters’ around the world, are insane pro-terrorists who deserve, and need, to be eliminated for the preservation of peace and stability in the international body politic. Like people blocking a roadway in a ‘protest’, all such activities actually do is harden people’s hearts s the cause that they are nominally supporting. It is STUPID, plain and simple.

Way back, and into the Twentieth Century, the saying was “Dilution is the solution for pollution.” And this was true to a point, because enough water thins out waste to the point that it is no longer harmful and that environmental factors can deal with it (sunlight, critters of varying sizes eat it, washed into ocean and thus neutralized.) It also applied to land, and spreading manure and other waste on the land, plowing it in, and waiting can solve many problems.

Alas, the quantity of polluting substances outgrew the ability of rivers/land to accept and deal with the effluent. This led to things like the Great Stink when the Thames River basically died, cholera and typhoid fever outbreaks, and so on. Over the late 1800s and on, people found ways to turn refuse into usable stuff (coal tar to dyes and medicines, anyone?), to process polluted water so that it was no longer harmful (The Imhoff Tank and other things), or replacements for the polluting technology (cars and buses instead of horses).

The rise of bureaucracy has led to something like this with language. Now, bureaucratic obfuscation goes back a loooooong way. Shang Dynasty and later Chinese sources tend to omit references to problems, in part because the thought was that not mentioning it would reduce the harm done by the problem. No one wants to tell the monarch the unpleasant truth, so it fell to people like Russia’s Holy Fools, or the court jester to bear the bad tidings. Now we have euphemisms and “approved terms” to avoid causing distress or to confuse the uninitiated. Instead of “mental retardation” we have “non-neurotypical,” or “on the spectrum,” neither of which describe the medical and social condition. “Previously-underserved communities” is another one that makes me twitch. Unwarranted use of the passive voice chaps my hide.* “Undocumented migrants,” gets tossed around in the media, rather than the legal term “illegal alien,” although “resident alien” is still OK for now. Humpty Dumpty’s [corrected. Thank you] definition of “A word means what I say it means, no more and no less” has become reality.

At 12:52 a.m., just minutes after the name of one of the victims of the Capital Jewish Museum attack began to trickle out online, a social media user by the name of Mejd S tweeted a short message: “F— Yaron Lischinsky.”

Ten minutes earlier, Mejd had trawled Lischinsky’s profile on X, where the Israeli embassy staffer had posted a stream of Israeli diplomatic talking points — that Hamas is the main obstacle to aid distribution in Gaza, that the group embeds among civilians and that international law courts trying Israel are illegitimate.

For Mejd, that was enough to conclude that Lischinsky “loved baby murder.” He added, “Lol I dont feel sorry for this freak rest in piss.”

The post has been shared dozens of times. As of 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, it has 11,000 views.

Mejd’s post may have been one of the first to justify the murder of two Israeli embassy employees at a Jewish event in Washington, D.C. Wednesday night, but it was hardly the most popular. Some who have used the “Free Palestine” slogan the shooter repeated, or that once had ties to him, are disavowing him under criticism from pro-Israel activists. But a range of hardline pro-Palestinian social media accounts are praising the attack or paying homage to the man who allegedly committed it, Elias Rodriguez.

Italy’s Constitutional Court has ruled that two women in a same-sex relationship can both be listed as parents of a child—even though this is biologically impossible.

The case involved a child born through medically assisted reproduction. The court said it was unconstitutional to deny parental recognition to the non-biological partner who had agreed to the procedure and taken on parental responsibilities.

LGBT group Rainbow Families hailed the ruling as “a historic day,” saying, “boys and girls have the right to see both parents recognized, from birth, even when they are two mothers.”

But critics warned of the social consequences. The Pro Life and Family association condemned the decision, saying it would plunge thousands of children into “an existential joke,” growing up without the stability of a natural family.

The ruling comes as Italy faces wider legal and cultural pressure to redefine parenthood. Just weeks earlier, the Supreme Court of Cassation—a separate high court—ordered the return of “parent 1” and “parent 2” on official ID cards, rejecting the traditional “mother” and “father” labels. That ruling overturned a 2019 decree by then-interior minister Matteo Salvini, who had restored biological terms in defence of Italy’s family model.

Conservative lawmakers have accused the judiciary of pursuing an ideological agenda that undermines national identity and family values.

The Trump administration on Thursday halted Harvard University’s ability to enroll international students, taking aim at a crucial funding source for the nation’s oldest and wealthiest college in a major escalation in the administration’s efforts to pressure the elite school to fall in line with the president’s agenda.

The administration notified Harvard about the decision after a back-and-forth in recent days over the legality of a sprawling records request as part of the Department of Homeland Security’s investigation, according to three people with knowledge of the negotiations. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

The latest move is likely to prompt a second legal challenge from Harvard, according to another person familiar with the school’s thinking who insisted on anonymity to discuss private deliberations. The university sued the administration last month over the government’s attempt to impose changes to its curriculum, admissions policies and hiring practices.
