Today in Trump Derangement Syndrome

25th May 2025

A Convenient Piece of Junk Science (Keren Landman/The Atlantic)  ‘Junk Science’ is anything that doesn’t support the Narrative.

With $37 million and a jet, Trump’s presidential library takes off, Eric Trump as pilot (Swapna Venugopal Ramaswamy/USA Today)

Europe’s Been Negotiating by the Book, but Trump’s Tearing It Up (Jeanna Smialek/New York Times)  Which is what he was elected to do.

JD Vance’s Irish ancestry claim hits a genealogical dead end (The Times)  You’ll notice the Vance quotation refers to culture, not actual genetic ancestry.

Trump Profits Like No Other President, as Outrage Is Muted (Peter Baker/New York Times) More than Biden? More than Clinton? Seriously? Seriously?

Why Vietnam Ignored Its Own Laws to Fast-Track a Trump Family Golf Complex (New York Times)  “This guy does deals that make money. We want him to make such a deal here.” Not hard to tell.

Trump’s “Golden Dome” Won’t Work–but It’ll Make Elon Musk Richer (Joe Cirincione/New Republic)

How Donald Trump Has Remade America’s Political Landscape (Shane Goldmacher/New York Times)  Come and get yer Narrative, right here.

J. D. Vance Warns Courts to Get in Line (Ruth Marcus/New Yorker)  This is news? Who doesn’t know that?

Trump Allies Look to Benefit From Pro Bono Promises by Elite Law Firms (New York Times)  After all, it’s All About Trump.

Trump the central planner (Emily Peck/Axios)  The Narrative Media keep projecting attitudes onto Trump because such characterize their enemies and so, since Trump is another of their enemies, he must believe them too. Trump is neither a conservative nor a libertarian, so to treat him as if he were means a constant round of surprises and bewilderment.

Why Is This Supreme Court Handing Trump More and More Power? (Kate Shaw/New York Times)  I just don’t understand it! (Maybe because he’s right? But that would never occur to her.)

Pro-Palestine Activists Target Ontario Food Terminal With Blockade

25th May 2025

Read it.

There are troubling reports that the Ontario Food Terminal—the largest wholesale fruit and produce hub in Canada, moving 2 billion pounds annually—has been disrupted by far-left activists chanting “Free Palestine.”

“Masked protesters stage a blockade at the Ontario Food Terminal, preventing freight trucks from accessing Canada’s largest wholesale fruit and vegetable distribution center,” citizen journalist “CarymaRules” wrote on X early Sunday morning, adding, “The demonstration began shortly before 2:00AM, ahead of the day’s scheduled deliveries.”

United States Citizen Arrested for Attempted Firebombing of U.S. Embassy Branch Office in Tel Aviv, Israel

25th May 2025

Read it.

Earlier today, Joseph Neumayer, a dual U.S. and German citizen was arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport by FBI special agents and a complaint was unsealed in the Eastern District of New York charging Neumayer with attempting to destroy, by means of fire or explosive, the Branch Office of the United States Embassy located in Tel Aviv, Israel. Neumayer was deported by Israeli authorities to the United States. Neumeyer made his initial court appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Peggy Kuo of the Eastern District of New York and was ordered detained.

As alleged in the complaint, Neumayer arrived in Israel in April 2025. On May 19, Neumeyer, 28, arrived outside of the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv carrying a dark-colored backpack. Without provocation Neumeyer spit on an Embassy guard as he walked past. Neumeyer managed to break free as the guard attempted to detain him, leaving behind his backpack. A search of Neumeyer’s backpack revealed three rudimentary improvised incendiary devices commonly known as Molotov cocktails. Law enforcement tracked Neumeyer to his hotel, where he was arrested. Neumeyer’s social media revealed that earlier in the day on May 19, he posted, “join me as I burn down the embassy in Tel Aviv. Death to America, death to Americans, and f—k the west.” Law enforcement authorities confirmed the presence of flammable fluid in the devices. Other social media posts from an account believed to be used by Neumeyer revealed his threats to assassinate President Trump. On May 25, Israeli authorities returned Neumeyer to the United States.

$67 in France and $798 in U.S. – Why Prescription Drug Prices Are So High in America

25th May 2025

Read it.

Prescription drugs cost more in the United States than anywhere else in the world. President Donald Trump and some bipartisan senators want to change that.

Trump has so far issued several actions related to prescription drug prices. The latest, announced May 12, is a Most Favored Nation Prescription Drug policy, requiring pharmaceutical companies to offer their lowest price to U.S. customers.

An earlier order aimed to ensure that the middlemen in the drug supply chain can’t hold on to rebates provided by pharmaceutical companies and instead must pass savings on to Medicare beneficiaries.

Nearly Two Dozen Arrested in Seattle After Protesters Crash Christian Rally in LGBTQ Neighborhood

25th May 2025

Read it.

Seattle police said they arrested 23 people Saturday after left-wing protesters confronted Christian activists at a prayer rally held in a popular LGBTQ neighborhood.

Protesters waving transgender flags gathered on the outside of a “Mayday USA” Christian rally when police said multiple people in one demonstration started throwing items at the other group around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

“Officers immediately moved to arrest the people responsible, and while taking the individuals into custody, were assaulted by more protesters, resulting in even more arrests,” police said in a news release.

GOP Senator Calls for Investigation Into $4.7 Trillion in ‘Untraceable’ Treasury Payments

25th May 2025

Read it.

In February, Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) uncovered $4.7 trillion in payments made by the US Treasury that are “almost impossible” to trace – as Treasury Account Symbol (TAS) identification codes were optional in the system. This left billions in payments blank and unable to be traced.

s”Of the 1.5 billion payments that we send out every year, they are required to have a TAS, a Treasury Account Symbol. We discovered that more than one third of those payments did not have a TAS number,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services earlier this month.

“In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making traceability almost impossible,” DOGE announced via its X account. Thanks to DOGE, those “optional” days are over. “…this is now a required field, increasing insight into where money is actually going,” DOGE added.

Authors Are Accidentally Leaving AI Prompts in Their Novels

25th May 2025

Read it.

Fans reading through the romance novel Darkhollow Academy: Year 2 got a nasty surprise last week in chapter 3. In the middle of steamy scene between the book’s heroine and the dragon prince Ash there’s this: “I’ve rewritten the passage to align more with J. Bree’s style, which features more tension, gritty undertones, and raw emotional subtext beneath the supernatural elements:”

It appeared as if author, Lena McDonald, had used an AI to help write the book, asked it to imitate the style of another author, and left behind evidence they’d done so in the final work. As of this writing, Darkhollow Academy: Year 2 is hard to find on Amazon. Searching for it on the site won’t show the book, but a Google search will. 404 Media was able to purchase a copy and confirm that the book no longer contains the reference to copying Bree’s style. But screenshots of the graph remain in the book’s Amazon reviews and Goodreads page.

“Rural Renaissance”: Venture Fund Plans New Community In Appalachia To Escape Soros-Enabled-Hellhole Cities

25th May 2025

Read it.

A majority of Americans are fed up with imploding progressive metro areas transforming into violent crime hellholes because Soros-backed District Attorneys refuse to enforce common sense law and order. Americans are tired of radicals in the Biden administration who knowingly push for open southern borders. At the same time, tax-payer-funded non-governmental organizations facilitate the greatest invasion this nation has ever seen of unvetted individuals – some of whom are on the FBI’s Terror Watch List. The president’s collapsing polling data is a symptom the American people have rejected this mumbling, silent generation president who should be in a nursing home or on a La-Z-Boy recliner at his beach house in the elite-only beach town of Bethany.

In recent years, the tyrannical overreach of government during Covid, BLM riots, and nationwide violent crime eruption, plus the 30-year fixed mortgage rate under 3%, unleashed the greatest-ever exodus of Americans from Demcorat-controlled states and metro areas for safer areas in red states.

The migration trends of the Covid period are still happening today, just less because of housing affordability woes.

However, an entirely new trend is emerging: a venture fund in rural Kentucky is building a new community for folks who want to escape all the chaos of progressive cities.

Called the “Highland Rim Project” (HRP), venture fund New Founding is developing “rural towns and communities nestled in the bucolic hills of the Eastern Highland Rim area of Tennessee and Kentucky.”

Tennessee would be good. I have my doubts about Kentucky, which has state and local income taxes like Indiana.

Islamists Change Their Approach and Seeing Success

25th May 2025

Read it.

A German politician arguing the question of whether to admit yet more Afghan nationals cited official government statistics regarding the crime rates, especially rape, committed by these migrants. Under German censorship laws, she has now twice been found guilty of illegal hate speech, fined thousands of euros, and been given a criminal record, simply for stating government-produced facts.

The United Kingdom, once a bastion of free speech, is now moving toward ever stricter speech restrictions. Meanwhile, prosecutors reluctant to anger Islamists ignore grooming gangs preying on young women.

In the US, pro-Palestinian protesters broke into a graduation dinner at the home of the Berkeley law dean, screaming and chanting. No disciplinary measures were taken against the perpetrators, but the dean’s wife was accused of racism and Islamophobia. A civil rights investigation was launched against her.

Although most Americans are not fully aware, Islamist influences in our culture have become much more pronounced in the last few years. Islamists are still committed to the transformation of Western society into a universal Muslim caliphate. Such is Allah’s will. “Submission” (to Allah) is a translation of “Islam.” Time is not of the essence, but success is considered inevitable.

How George Floyd Dragged America to the Right

25th May 2025

Spiked.

He didn’t do it, it was the people who were eager to use him as a pretext.

George Floyd died five years ago today, his movement only more recently.

It is no exaggeration to say that his death was one of the most important moments in recent Western history. The viral video showing Floyd having the life choked from him by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin

Which is a lie … he died from the massive amount of drugs he had ingested, as the autopsy proved. Chauvin knelt on the side of his neck, and it’s almost impossible to choke somebody to death by kneeling on the side of his neck. Try it yourself.

led to a wave of protests, riots and so much more. His death may have been more complex and multi-causal than initially seemed to be the case. However, there was no room for nuance at the time: the national consensus was that a black man had been publicly lynched by a white police officer, a supposedly common occurance.

But within a remarkably short period of time, nearly every major claim made by BLM activists during the ‘racial reckoning’ was exposed as nonsense. Very few innocent and unarmed black men are killed by US police, certainly not the thousands per year or even hundreds per day regularly cited by the media. In the year Floyd died, the total number of males killed by police who were both black and unarmed – according to the excellent database set up by the Washington Post – was 18. Last year, it was 10 – a remarkably low number for a country with a population of 340million, in which three million people die each year.

As I have often noted before, patterns of inter-racial crime rarely fit the mainstream narrative. In a typical year, the violent inter-racial crimes that involve a black perpetrator and a white victim, or a white perpetrator and a black victim, make up only three to five per cent of the roughly 1.2million annual serious crimes recorded by the Department of Justice. Furthermore, among this relatively tiny subset of offences, more than 80 per cent of the violence is black on white.

UPDATE: 5 Years After George Floyd’s Murder, the Backlash Takes Hold (Clyde McGrady/New York Times)  To the Narrative Media, of course, the ‘backlash’ is all about Trump and White Racism.

Lefty activist CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins appeared visibly pissed off Thursday as Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spoke of the media’s complicity in eroding freedoms during the COVID pandemic.

Kennedy noted that the likes of CNN acted as parroting mouthpieces for spreading false information, coercing people to accept lockdowns and vaccine mandates.

“You know, one of the big mistakes that you and many of your media colleagues made during COVID is to try to convince the American people that they should trust the experts,” Kennedy said.

FLASHBACK: How an Adoring Media Aided Bernie Sanders’s 2016 Campaign

25th May 2025

Newsbusters.

en years ago this week, Vermont socialist Senator Bernie Sanders formally announced his first bid for the White House. It was the most serious left-wing campaign since Henry Wallace in the late 1940s, with a platform that included massive new spending, oppressively higher taxes, and a crippling $18 trillion in new debt.

Which is why people voted for Trump.

By any definition, it was an extremist agenda. Yet while a similarly extreme far-right candidate would have faced withering criticism from the press, the establishment media celebrated Sanders for his “passion” and the “seriousness” of his radical ideas.

As they do.

Christian Rally In Seattle Park Attacked by Violent Woke Mob

25th May 2025

Read it.

The year of 2020 was an unmitigated disaster for the US for numerous reasons. With so many chaotic events happening simultaneously, one can be forgiven if they have completely forgotten about the bizarre CHAZ/CHOP takeover of a section of Seattle by woke activists for around a month. The protest led to extensive violence and some deaths, but was widely supported by city officials. It was also a wellspring of hilarious memes as ignorant protesters tried in vain to establish a self sustaining progressive community complete with socialist garden spaces.

Seattle is one of the few leftist enclaves in the US still clinging to the old days of BLM and covid mandates, and they are back in the news again. This time because of an organized and violent mob attack on a peaceful Christian rally this week at Cal Anderson Park. The rally, held by a group called Mayday USA, spoke on pro-life issues and against transgender hormones and surgeries for children.

The Silent Jihadi Genocide Against Christians in Nigeria

25th May 2025

Read it.

Leah Sharibu, a Nigerian Christian, was abducted alongside more than 100 other schoolgirls in Yobe State by Islamic terrorists seven years ago. She has not been released because she refuses to renounce her Christian faith and convert to Islam. On May 14, 2025, Leah turned 22 years old—the eighth birthday she spent in captivity. The last time her mother, Rebecca, saw her, Leah was only 14.

Thousands of other Christians have since been abducted or massacred by Muslims as the jihadist genocide against Christians proceeds at full tilt in Nigeria.

Anti-Israel Activists Cheer D.C. Murder of Israeli Couple

25th May 2025

Read it.

Elias Rodriguez opened fire outside the Capital Jewish Museum, killing two, a soon to be engaged Israeli couple, and wounded two others, but few media outlets reported his political orientation and his background. Or the outpouring of support from the anti-Israel Left.

In 2023, stickers reading “Exterminate Zionists” and the name of the Party for Socialism and Liberation appeared at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Rodriguez had been a member of the affiliated University of Illinois at Chicago and had been a member of the Party for Socialism and Liberation. According to Rodriguez’s manifesto, he became radicalized 11 years ago and was convinced that killing Israelis, Americans and Jews was the right thing to do. That was the same year that he was being quoted as taking part in protest rallies and speaking on behalf of the Party for Socialism and Liberation.

PSL claims that Elias Rodriguez only had a “brief association” with the Communist group, but even according to their timeline, the terrorist was with the organization for at least 3 years.

SPLC Claims Anti-ESG Campaign Is a Secret Effort to Foist ‘Theocracy’ on America

Meanwhile, YouTube explicitly prohibits content that provides instructions on manufacturing firearms, including ghost guns.

Doug Casey on the Neocons and Their Push for the Next Big War

25th May 2025

Read it.

International Man: Who exactly are the neoconservatives—where did this movement originate, what do they fundamentally believe, and why does their ideology seem so relentlessly focused on promoting war and global intervention?

Doug Casey: Most of the neocons have a background as socialists or hardcore leftists. But the neocons are smarter than the average statist in that they could see that socialism was a failure—it wasn’t working anywhere. So what they did was adopt conservative-seeming economic policies, while maintaining all the other trappings of socialism.

Neocons are universally state worshipers. They don’t believe in principles as a matter of principle. You could say that a foundational thinker for the neocons is Niccolò Machiavelli, who promoted the idea in his book The Prince that whatever works and accomplishes the goal of the ruler should be done—that it’s counterproductive to think in terms of right, wrong, or morality.

Many neocons self-identify as Wilsonians. Woodrow Wilson was one of the very worst presidents, responsible for the income tax, the Federal Reserve, US participation in WW1, and trying to “make the world safe for democracy,” among other things.

This is why the Kristol Krew and their ilk switched from right to left as soon as Trump was elected. Principles? Faugh! Policy is king!

Ethnic Jews, Religious Jews, and “Messianic Jews”

24th May 2025

The New Neo.

The definition of being a Jew is complicated somewhat by the fact that different strains of Judaism believe that being ethnically Jewish – or part of the Jewish people – is inherited in different ways. The more Orthodox believe that Jewishness involves having a Jewish mother and even if the father is not Jewish the offspring are Jewish (part of the Jewish people) as long as the mother is Jewish. Reform Jews believe Jewishness is passed through either parent.

The legal system of Israel reflects some of this, but Jews outside of Israel aren’t bound by it in any way unless they happen to agree with it anyway. All Jewish denominations around the world reject Messianic Judaism as a form of Judaism in the religious sense. However, Messianic Jews can become Israelis under the right of return – but only if they qualify in terms of ancestry.

Here Are The Countries That Have Reached, Or Are Considering, Deportation Deals With US

24th May 2025

Section 241(b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act requires that Immigration and Customs Enforcement send deportees back to their nation of origin, or the country in which they boarded the transport that brought them to America.

However, if that fails, the section also allows for the agency to remove aliens to any country that will accept them.

Talks between the United States and countries such as Honduras, Panama, and Venezuela have resulted in the nations accepting illegal immigrants that the United States needs to remove.

Here is a list of some of the countries either in talks with Washington about assisting with deportation or that have already begun the process of accepting other nations’ citizens being deported by the United States.

The latest battle is over Trump’s move to ban the school from enrolling foreign students, but based on Wang’s reports, someone might assume that Harvard is the only university in the country. At the same time, on NBC Nightly News, Andrea Mitchell echoed Harvard’s claim that the move was an assault on the First Amendment while providing precious little from the Trump perspective.

Who Are the Afrikaners Seeking Refuge in US?

24th May 2025

The Foundry.

President Donald Trump raised the issue of the killings of white South Africans in that country during an Oval Office visit by its president this week.

It came as the Trump administration expedited the refugee claims of some white South Africans who feel they are no longer safe in their black-majority home country.

As of May 8, the U.S. government had granted 59 Afrikaners refugee status, and the State Department has received 8,000 inquiries.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended the Trump administration’s actions when he appeared before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday.

“Can you have a different standard based upon the color of somebody’s skin? Would that be acceptable?” Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., asked the secretary in what some saw as a leading question.

“I’m not the one arguing that. Apparently you are, because you don’t like the fact that they’re white and that’s why they’re coming,” Rubio replied in the contentious exchange.

Also leaving the firm is Jeannie Rhee, a former Obama-era Justice Department official who previously represented Hillary Clinton in a lawsuit regarding her use of a private email server and later joined special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigative team.

Rounding out the departures are Jessica Phillips, who has represented some of the nation’s largest technology companies in court, and William Isaacson, another high-profile trial lawyer once named litigator of the year by The American Lawyer.

Oh Canada: Teslas Banned From International Car Show

24th May 2025

Read it.

If you go to the Vancouver International Auto Show, you can see all the new models. However, if you want to see a Tesla, you must go down the road to check out a car without a political litmus test. The organizers are just the latest group to join the mob retaliating against Elon Musk for working with the Trump Administration to remove waste and fraud in government through his DOGE program. What was most striking was the pathetic rationalization of the organization for engaging in political retaliation.

Welcome to the Intifada, America

Read it.

After a pro-Palestinian Marxist was arrested after shooting and killing Yaron Lischinsky, a German-born evangelical Christian, and his American girlfriend, Sarah Milgrim, in front of the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., he chanted, “Free, free Palestine.”

The murderer, who reportedly traveled from Chicago to kill two innocent 20-something-year-olds, surely knew the embassy workers were Jewish. His justification, as far as we know, was a blood libel that is a millennium old. The slander has simply been repackaged for the modern audience.

Indeed, the “genocide” libel is spread by Qatari-bought pseudo-intellectuals on elite U.S. campuses, New York Times and Washington Post editorialists, liberal activists, right-wing paleo “influencers,” European powers, Democrat House members, big media, and many others.

Sleeper Scenario

24th May 2025

Tools of Renewal.

any offhand, and I certainly don’t recall a wave of them. Looks like that has changed.

We have had a whole slew of transvestite killers over the last few years. In December, Luigi Mangione murdered a health insurance executive and won widespread praise for it. Two Democrat nuts tried to kill President Trump, and one shot him. That’s two more nuts than tried to kill Biden and Obama in 12 years. In 2017, a Democrat walked onto a baseball field and started shooting at Republican congressmen, hitting Steve Scalise. Social media has filled up with people threatening to kill those who object to trying to keep male perverts from exposing themselves in women’s locker rooms, and some of the offenders have displayed guns.

We’ve also had many physical attacks on Trump supporters and people suspected of being Trump supporters. It’s pretty unusual for conservatives to attack leftists, however. They have definitely been involved in physical scuffles, but they are almost never the instigators.

Now a leftist has murdered two Messianic Jews who worked for the Israeli Embassy. Their names are Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim. They were engaged to be married. He shot them in the street, firing 21 rounds. He is proud of it. His explanation? “I did it for Gaza.”

If he explained how shooting two embassy employees 6,000 miles away from Israel helped Gaza, I have not seen it.

Unintended Consequences of Allergen Food Labeling

24th May 2025

Read it.

An estimated 6.2% of U.S. adults and 5.8% of U.S. children – more than 20 million people – have food allergies (Ng and Boersma, 2023; Zablotsky, Black, and Akinbami, 2023). For consumers with food allergies, labels indicating the presence of an allergen in a product can reduce information asymmetry and enhance the safety of purchasing decisions (Simons, et. al, 2005). For producers, however, ensuring that food products with and without major allergens are kept separated in production and distribution can be a significant challenge. The costs associated with mislabeling and cross-contamination, driven by costs of recalls and related civil litigation, can be large (Gupta et al., 2017). Indeed, the current most common reason for recalls of food products in the United States is the incorrect labeling of allergens (Gendel and Zhu, 2013).

For the last two decades, U.S. statutes have required that the presence of any of the “big eight” major allergens – milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, wheat, peanuts, and soybeans – be clearly labeled on the packaging of food products. Recently, new statutes required the inclusion of a ninth major allergen, sesame, first at a state level (2019) and later at the federal level (passed in 2021 and enacted in 2023).

Strikingly, media reports indicated that some food manufacturers began adding sesame to products that previously did not contain the ingredient following the implementation of the new allergen labeling requirements (Aleccia, 2022; Chatman, 2023; Hughes, et al., 2023). Statements from U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials also noted the prevalence of such unexpected responses by producers (Califf, 2023). To our knowledge, however, there has not yet been any systematic examination of food manufacturers’ responses to the regulatory change. To address this gap, we use ingredient label data to evaluate the timing and frequency of firm responses, thus illuminating some of the unintended consequences of the change in allergen labeling requirements for sesame.

How to Live on $432 a Month in America

24th May 2025

Read it.

There’s a house for sale on the northern plain, in a place you’d never go. It sits by a field just a mile from the river, where a million bass and perch are jumping just now as I write this. By modern standards, it’s a tiny little house — just 600 square feet. But if you adhere to the standard of our great-grandfathers, it’s a fine-sized place, where any young, industrious couple could easily raise a whack of kids.

Sometimes the old ways are best.

stash of weapons, $750,000 in cash, and a phone filled with violent, anti-Semitic messages and pro-Hamas and pro-Hezbollah images, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors accused New Yorker Tarek Bazrouk, who’s been arrested six times for “his conduct at Israel/Gaza protests,” of assaulting the Jewish students between April 2024 and January 2025. Law enforcement searched his Manhattan apartment earlier this month and found brass knuckles (which are illegal in New York), four knives, a taser, an airsoft gun that looks identical to a real revolver, spent casings from an actual firearm, and $500,000 in cash, according to a May 7 filing. An additional search turned up another $250,000, a Wednesday filing revealed.

Bazrouk, however, lives with his parents. He said he has a net worth of $3,000 and that he’s “unemployed” and “supported by his parents,” the Wednesday filing said.

Trans CEMA Director Suspended After Failure To Alert St. Louis Residents Of Deadly Tornado

24th May 2025

Read it.

The head of the City Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) in St. Louis has been suspended pending an investigation into into why tornado sirens did not sound before an EF-3 tornado hit parts of Central West End and North City last week. A physical button must be pushed by officials at the CEMA office in order to activate warning sirens; this was never done. Five people died when the storm struck.

Sarah Russell, (a biological woman) who identifies as transgender and goes by they/them pronouns, was promoted to the CEMA leadership position in 2022 in the midst of the widespread DEI hiring blitz within Democrat run cities across the US. CEMA is a local partner organization to FEMA.

CEMA staff, including Russell, were at a workshop on Market Street and not at the CEMA office located on Olive, where the siren activation button is located. The Mayor’s office said Russell contacted the fire department, apparently at the time the tornado was approaching the city. City officials say there was then a breakdown in communication, with the directive to activate the sirens being vague.

Harvard Law Review Scrubs Race From Application Process Amid Federal Probe

The Harvard Law Review has removed all references to race and gender from the essay prompt used to evaluate prospective editors, the latest sign that the journal is on the back foot following a wave of investigations and funding cuts by the Trump administration.

The journal told prospective editors on May 1—three days after the Trump administration began investigating the law review for race discrimination—that they would be encouraged to disclose a slew of protected characteristics as part of their “holistic review statement.” Lawyers who reviewed the prompt said it provided further evidence of discrimination that the government could use in its campaign against Harvard.

George Washington University Slapped With Lawsuit Alleging ‘Pervasive and Severe Antisemitic Harassment’ on Campus

24th May 2025

Read it.

George Washington University (GW) was sued in federal court by Jewish students on Thursday, alleging it allowed “pervasive and severe antisemitic harassment” on campus for years without any action from the school’s leaders.

Students Sabrina Soffer, Ari Shapiro, and a group of anonymous plaintiffs accused GW of failing to address a surge in hostility towards Jewish students, particularly following the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel, according to a copy of the complaint obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, claims the university violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act by allowing a “hostile educational environment” to flourish unchecked.

The 176-page complaint details a litany of incidents that paint GW as a campus where Jewish students face relentless intimidation. According to the filing, anti-Semitic acts include physical assaults, vandalism, and verbal harassment, with university administrators allegedly turning a blind eye. The lawsuit cites specific examples, such as anti-Israel protests that escalated into violence and Jewish students’ property being defaced with anti-Semitic slurs.

LA Deputy Mayor Pleads Guilty to Calling in Anti-Israel Bomb Threat

24th May 2025

Read it.

Brian Williams, who was charged by federal prosecutors Thursday, faces up to 10 years in federal prison.

Mayor Karen Bass announced in December that Williams had been put on administrative leave, meaning he likely has been collecting his $245,143 combined salary and benefits without any official duties. As deputy mayor for public safety, Williams would have overseen the city’s fire and police response during the devastating January wildfires.

The Department of Justice reports that during an online government meeting, Williams used his personal cellphone’s Google Voice app to call his city cellphone, then left the meeting and placed a call to the Los Angeles Public Department, saying he received a call from an unknown man with a threat to bomb Los Angeles City Hall.

Police Ordered ‘Not To Enforce D.C. Law Against Anti-Israel Protesters,’ Rabbi Alleges

24th May 2025

Read it.

A rabbi whom pro-Hamas activists assaulted last year urged the Department of Justice on Thursday to investigate Washington, D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), alleging that officers have been ordered “not to enforce D.C. law against anti-Israel protesters.”

Anti-Israel activists assaulted Rabbi Shmuel Herzfeld—leader of Washington’s Yeshivas Elimelech Jewish studies center—while he prayed outside the Israeli embassy. The protesters, who had demonstrated near the embassy since Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack, attempted to disrupt Herzfeld’s prayer by blasting sirens in his ear, ultimately damaging his hearing.

Herzfeld approached the MPD officers after the assault, asking why they did not intervene. The officers “told Rabbi Herzfeld that they had been instructed not to enforce the noise ordinances against Palestinian protesters who protested outside the Israel Embassy,” his letter to the Justice Department reads.

Names and Faces: Here’s Who Was Actually Running the Country When Joe Biden Was ‘President’

24th May 2025

Read it.

Recent books about the 2024 election, including the just-published Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, have made clear what was obvious to most Americans with eyes and ears: Joe Biden was not fit to serve as president for another four years, and was more than likely unfit to serve from day one. They have also provided a clearer picture of who was actually running the country this whole time: a cadre of Biden loyalists who became addicted to the perks of power and did everything they could to stay in charge.

Oliver Darcy, a partisan hack who worked with Tapper at CNN and shamelessly defended Biden at every turn, still doesn’t think Biden’s conservative critics were right all along. The damning revelations in Original Sin and other books about the election, Darcy writes, do not validate “the deeply irresponsible narrative right-wing media spun for years: that the president of the United States was a mentally incapacitated puppet with dementia, unaware of his own surroundings, and propped up by a ‘shadow government’ running the country in his name.”

It’s pretty clear that Darcy hasn’t read Original Sin, in which Biden aides openly (albeit anonymously) admit that this is precisely what happened. “Five people were running the country, and Joe Biden was at best a senior member of the board,” said one source close to the White House. Thompson told the New Yorker that some less influential Biden aides believed there would have been a “constitutional crisis” if Biden won a second term because “clearly the people in his inner circle were not willing to cede power.” They didn’t care that Biden was a walking corpse, they just wanted to get him across the finish line. “He just had to win, and then he could disappear for four years—he’d only have to show proof of life every once in a while,” said a longtime Biden aide who was eager to continue running the country while Biden wasted away in hospice care. “When you vote for somebody, you are voting for the people around them too.”

Liberal Bias By Omission: Polls Moving Toward America in the ‘Right Direction’

24th May 2025

Newsbusters.

The national media use polls the way they deploy all kinds of facts. They very carefully organize things to make it look like their worldview is winning. Throughout these first months of the second term, they’ve presented Trump’s actions as chaotic and (they hope) politically damaging to Republicans.

So they may not notice polls that offer some good news. Let’s take the Real Clear Politics average of polls on whether the country’s going in the right or wrong direction. The numbers are more positive than anyone watching the networks would expect. It could be defined as voters stiff-arming the relentless media negativity.
