Roger Severino sued then-President Joe Biden in 2021 for dismissing him before the end of his term on an independent agency called the Administrative Conference of the United States.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit’s decision against Severino laid the groundwork for the court’s decision on Friday that President Donald Trump can fire holdover Biden appointees at “independent agencies.”

On Tuesday morning, former Biden administration “disinformation czar” Nina Jankowicz repeatedly refused to disclose who’s funding her new gig – the ‘American Sunlight Project’ – which cropped up after a stint at the USAID-funded UK-based Centre for Information Resilience (CIR) – for which she registered as a foreign agent while serving as their Vice President.

To review – Jankowicz, who previously served as a disinformation fellow at the Wilson Center, advised the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry as part of the Fulbright-Clinton Public Policy Fellowship, and was then selected to head the Biden DHS’s newly formed Disinformation Governance Board – which was quickly dismantled amid criticism over censorship under the guise of fighting disinformation.

Four months later, she launched “The Hypatia Project” for CIR – where she was the Vice President until April 2024, at which point she co-founded the American Sunlight Project.

When I first came across Jonathan Chait’s new Atlantic piece, “Why the COVID Reckoning Is So One-Sided,” I assumed the answer would be that Democrats had been the ones relentlessly and tragically wrong about virtually everything during the pandemic. No such luck.

In Chait’s telling, the Left remains uncannily open-minded, always striving for truth, while the dogmatic Right remains hopelessly bogged down in “pathological incuriosity.” Even when conservatives are right, they’re right in the wrong way.

These days, people on the Left, Chait contends, “have engaged in searching self-reflection—on school closings, the lab leak hypothesis, the political aftereffects, and other unanticipated lessons. Conservatives have used the occasion to engage in a round of self-congratulations and taunting of the libs.”

Now, you and I may believe dunking on libs who accused you of committing mass murder for going to church is perfectly normal behavior. Chait, though, is irked by all the “gloating” and “football-spiking.” Especially because a handful of left-wing outlets have published columns (five years late) begrudgingly admitting that lockdowns were a failure.

A few writers on the Left are realiably wrong about everything they discuss: Paul Krugman, Jennifer Rubin, Amanda Marcotte, Greg Sargent, Will Bunch, Philip Bump … and Jonathan Chait. They’re totally right, everyone they disagree with is totally wrong, and that attitude persists even when they change their minds about something. People on the Right should Know Their Place and Mend Their ways, like David French and the Kristol Krew over at The Bulwark.

In labs around the world, scientists are using A.I. to search among existing medicines for treatments that work for rare diseases. Drug repurposing, as it’s called, is not new, but the use of machine learning is speeding up the process — and could expand the treatment possibilities for people with rare diseases and few options.

Thanks to versions of the technology developed by Dr. Fajgenbaum’s team at the University of Pennsylvania and elsewhere, drugs are being quickly repurposed for conditions including rare and aggressive cancers, fatal inflammatory disorders and complex neurological conditions. And often, they’re working.

In a move eerily reminiscent of the LCS, the Navy today announced the retirement of the not yet completed USS Constellation, first in its class of a new frigate. Apparently, the Navy’s concurrency construction approach has resulted in so many unique modifications that the lead ship of the class has lost sufficient commonality with the subsequent class members to justify its retention.

The Sentencing Council of England And Wales, a non-departmental public body (faceless bureaucracy) which determines the guidelines for court punishments of convicted offenders, has recently made controversial changes and ignited a firestorm among the native British populace.

The council has announced that special exceptions in sentencing will be made for ethnic minority offenders (the majority of violent crime in Britain) and religious minority offenders, as well as female offenders. In other words, everyone except white males will enjoy reduced sentencing, creating a two tier justice system that targets white men for harsher treatment.

A surprising number of Americans approve of the rash of violence against Teslas amid Elon Musk’s work helping President Donald Trump with the Department of Government Efficiency.

Self-identified atheists, Democrats, young people, and supporters of the policies of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., are the most likely to approve of the violence and the least likely to consider it “domestic terrorism.”

Arsonists have hurled Molotov cocktails into Teslas and Tesla dealerships—not just in the U.S. but also in European countries like France and Germany—as protesters hold banners reading, “Burn a Tesla: Save Democracy.” Activists have also published a map claiming to show the location of every Tesla owner across the U.S. The website with this map turns the user’s cursor into a Molotov cocktail icon.

We’re talking about the fact that in 2020, 158 million people voted. Four years later, only 155 million. That’s only happened, I think, two or three times in American history, where four years later, fewer people voted. But the country grew by 11 million people. So, that was kind of odd that we went from an 11 million increase in population but we decreased by 3 million voters.

The other thing that was very odd was that traditionally we only had about 40% of people voting before Election Day, either through mail-in balloting or early balloting. And that was very apparent in 2018, when a traditional 35% to 40%, depending on the state, did not vote on Election Day. But given the changes that were democratically inspired, on Election Day, in 2020, 70% of the people had already voted. And about 55% to 60% of those, even higher in some states, were Democrats.

So, just what am I getting at? There were a lot of very strange things. You remember the Hunter Biden laptop? Antony Blinken, Mike Morell—the former CIA director, interim director—they got 51 people, right before the Oct. 23 debate, to lie—and they knew it was a lie because the FBI had authenticated the laptop—to say that the laptop had all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation. And we know from a, albeit conservative, poll, TechnoMetrica, that that affected 8 out of 10 people who were polls votes.

That was a stunning thing to do.

And then, in addition to that, the FBI was inserting agents into the social media network at Facebook and Twitter and their job was to censor the news. What Molly Ball in her Time essay said was to suppress disinformation and misinformation.

Kvetching about Musk handing out two checks to those who signed a petition with his America PAC, Scott said the results will be “a test of the political power of Musk and a barometer about how voters are feeling about President Trump’s second term” and directly “impact future rulings on abortion rights and Wisconsin’s congressional map, which could shake up control of Congress.”

Ah, there it is! Scott admitted the quiet part out loud about the left’s objective: redraw congressional districts to favor Democrats.

Scott saw no reason to care about Pritzker or Soros, but instead closed by denouncing Musk creating “the most expensive judicial race” ever and embracing “Democrats and the candidate” for having “seized on Musk’s outside role.”
