The expensive electric vehicle that Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm used during her ill-fated summer road trip is no longer eligible for federal tax credits thanks to a new rule that pulls subsidies for cars made with certain Chinese components.

As of Jan. 1, American buyers will no longer receive a $7,500 Biden administration tax credit when they purchase a Cadillac Lyriq, General Motors confirmed. At issue are Treasury Department battery sourcing rules, which forbid tax credits from going to electric vehicles that contain battery components from China and other foreign nations of concern. Those rules went into effect Monday.

The development comes as a blow to Granholm, who toured the country in a Cadillac Lyriq during her infamous June electric vehicle road trip, which was aimed at encouraging Americans to purchase electric vehicles. At one point, the pricey Cadillac—which can cost upwards of $60,000—developed a “hardware issue” that made it difficult to charge.

A state court’s preliminary ruling against Oregon’s Measure 114 gun control policy will stand after a hearing in which Harney County Circuit Court Judge Robert Raschio considered additional arguments against his original case findings.

Judge Raschio rejected every objection that defense attorneys for the Oregon Department of Justice raised to his opinion about the case. That opinion found the measure violates the state’s constitutionally protected right to bear arms.

Measure 114 was initially set to take effect on Dec. 8, 2022. It has been on hold since Judge Raschio issued a preliminary injunction allowing parties to argue its legality in federal and state courts.

The tanker hijack situation in the Arabian Sea which was first reported Thursday involving a distressed Liberian-flagged merchant vessel off the coast of Somalia has come to an end after Indian Navy intervention.

The warship INS Chennai was already patrolling regional waters and was dispatched to assist the vessel, ending in the successful rescue of all 21 crew members, including 15 Indians aboard the MV Lila Norfolk. Pirates had ambushed the vessel, in waters frequently targeted by Somali militants.

We can quantify the US Navy’s cost disadvantage because Japan and South Korea are US allies that build destroyers similar to ours. They have the same radars, many of the same weapons, etc. Japan and South Korea can construct their Maya class and Sejong class destroyers for almost half the cost of a US Arleigh Burke-class ship. The construction time is also significantly shorter. And the Burke-class ships are the ones we build the most efficiently! Performance for other classes is likely much worse because of poor design choices, etc.

The number of African migrants settling in the United States has surged in recent months given the relative ease of crossing the southern border, the New York Times reported Friday.

“Getting into the United States is certain compared to European countries, and so I came,” Sekuba Keita, a 30-year-old Guinean migrant, told the Times.

Islamic State spokesman Abu Huthaifa al-Ansari, in a speech published by the terror group’s media arm Al-Furqan on Thursday evening, called on ISIS supporters around the world to attack Jews and avenge the killing by the Israel Defense Forces of Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

In a 30-minute recording titled, “And kill them wherever you find them,” Al-Ansari instructed terrorist cells to strike Israeli and Jewish targets across the United States and Europe, including synagogues, Jewish gatherings and Israeli diplomatic missions.

“The fight with Jews is a religious war, not a social or national battle,” Al-Ansari said, according to a translation of the speech provided by The Messenger, stressing: “It is not a [war] centered around lands or borders.”

“Barge into their homes and kill them using different methods, including gunfire, bombs, grenades and knives,” he stated. “Don’t differentiate between a civilian or a soldier, as they both should be targeted.”

From time to time, I have mentioned that when it comes to politics, most people use their stupid brain rather than their everyday brain. You see it with the Harvard case where conservatives are celebrating over the ouster of the plagiarizing president, as if this will make any difference to them. Harvard will just replace one antiwhite bigot with another antiwhite bigot, probably one even more nasty than Gay.

It is not that conservatives are stupid, although many of them are quite stupid, it is that they slip into political brain when they look at this issue, rather than use their normal brain that they use everywhere else in their life. Even the people protesting pornography in the schools figured out that it was not just the books, it was the people on the school board that was the problem.

Dissidents like to quote Carl Schmitt about politics being about friends and enemies, but in many respects, this is bad for dissidents. Inside conventional politics it is fine to play Cowboys and Indians, but for dissidents this is a danger. It is how weirdos and lunatics turn up in the ranks and how otherwise useless people make themselves into influencers until they are revealed to be nuts.

Compton, California, is, to my knowledge, a Hellhole. Some years ago I tried a case in Los Angeles. At that time, local lawyers were buzzing about an incident in which a lawyer who was appearing in court in Compton walked down a stairwell in the courthouse, where he was confronted by a gang of “youths” who, for no reason, beat him to within an inch of his life. The lawyer suffered severe brain damage from which he was not expected to recover.

So nothing that happens in Compton surprises me. They can’t even secure their own courthouse, so it is no surprise that bakeries are vulnerable. On Tuesday, a large number of “youths” planned an after-hours attack on Ruben’s Mexican bakery. They drove a vehicle through a wall to create an opening, then swarmed the store and stole whatever they could.

The following video shows the reactions of several young “Germans” to what they perceived as inadequate health care. They evidently felt that the treatment of the patient was neither prompt nor adequate, so they punched out a doctor and a nurse.

The staff probably also failed to give the patient the halal lollipop they had promised him.

Groups of voters from Illinois and Massachusetts on Thursday filed motions to remove Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot, adding to the list of states where the former president faces a challenge to his candidacy under the 14th Amendment’s so-called insurrectionist ban.

In Illinois, the challenge filed in conjunction with the liberal advocacy group Free Speech For People, asks the Illinois Board of Elections to hold a hearing on the matter and bar Trump from appearing on both the primary and general election ballots because of his role in the January 6, 2021, US Capitol attack.

“Donald J. Trump, through his words and actions, after swearing an oath as an officer of the United States to support the Constitution, engaged in insurrection or rebellion, or gave aid and comfort to its enemies, as defined by Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment,” the voters wrote in their petition to the board of elections.

A mob of over 100 looters purposefully crashed a Kia into a small bakery in Compton, Calif., before they flooded in and ransacked the store during a night of rampage on the streets earlier this week.

The thieves had gathered in the area for an illegal street takeover around 3 a.m. Tuesday before making the mile-long trek to Ruben’s Bakery & Mexican Food.

When they got to the locked store, a white Kia backed into the front doors, clearing an entryway for the crowd of pillagers to get to their loot.

Rishi Sunak has already claimed credit for the reduction of illegal Channel crossings in 2023, which is still the second-highest total since records began. But official forecasts for this year add further credence to the view that the drop was simply a “glitch” caused by bad weather.

Leaked Border Force documents contain projections of crossings rising to around 35,000 in 2024, up from 2023’s provisional figure of 29,437. The documents, seen by The Daily Telegraph, suggest that the upper projection for the year ahead of us is as high as 50,000, which would be a record high.

Sunak’s Conservative government described stopping the small-boat crossings as one of its five key priorities for 2023. Having failed to do this, Home Secretary James Cleverly has shifted the goalposts to make 2024 the ‘target’ year to “bring it down to zero.” It is telling that the prime minister’s spokesman has refused to back this line.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ administration is suing 17 Texas charter bus companies for $708 million for transporting thousands of illegal immigrants to the city.

The suit “seeks to recoup the hundreds of millions of dollars incurred to care for all these individuals, costs moving forward for any of those migrants still in New York City’s care, and costs for all those who are transported to New York City from Texas in the future as part of [Texas Gov. Greg] Abbott’s plan.”

“New York City has and will always do our part to manage this humanitarian crisis, but we cannot bear the costs of reckless political ploys from the state of Texas alone,” said Adams. “These companies have violated state law by not paying the cost of caring for these migrants. … Governor Abbott’s continued use of migrants as political pawns is not only chaotic and inhumane but makes clear he puts politics over people. Today’s lawsuit should serve as a warning to all those who break the law in this way.”

France’s Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin has announced that foreign imams who are paid from abroad will be barred from entering France as of January 1st of this year, as the country seeks to increase the number of locally trained imams.

French broadcaster BFMTV also notes that after 1 April 2024, foreign imams already in the country will not be able to stay under the current terms of their immigration status.

The new policy is largely directed at around 300 or so imams from overseas, drawn primarily from Algeria, Turkey, and Morocco. The announcement of the new policy was sent to Turkey and Algeria.

Over 100 anti-Israel protesters shut down the California Assembly on Wednesday during its first legislative session of the year, as lawmakers face a massive $68 billion deficit and crises from rising homelessness and crime.

“We all knew something was up” when hundreds of people filed into the galleries with face coverings, said GOP assemblyman Joe Patterson. The protesters flooded the balconies overlooking the assembly chamber early Wednesday afternoon ahead of the call to order and most refused to stand for the prayer or the Pledge of Allegiance.

As Speaker pro tempore Jim Wood (D.) launched into the business of the day, the protesters began singing “ceasefire now,” drowning out the legislators as they tried to speak. Wood rebuked them as “disruptive,” but was ultimately forced to call a recess. After a short break, Wood wrapped business in the chamber and dismissed the lawmakers for the day. A spokesman for the California capitol police put the number of protesters at 150, and said they did not obtain a permit to demonstrate on capitol grounds.

In 2023, Spanish authorities arrested 78 people for offenses related to jihadist terrorism, a 66% uptick compared to the previous year.

The figures, compiled and released by the Ministry of Interior, are the highest recorded in nearly two decades. The rising number of jihadist terror-related arrests represents the continuation of an upward trend that began in 2015, the same year Europe witnessed an unprecedented influx of 1.3 million migrants, the vast majority of whom come from Islamic cultures.

The number of operations targeting jihadist terrorists increased as well, with the National Police and Civil Guard carrying out a total of 36 operations across Spain’s 50 provinces, nine more than the previous year.

Despite promises to reduce illegal migration and attempts at negotiating deals with countries outside of the European Union to curb migration flows, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s first full year as the head of the Italian government has been marked by failure.

The Italian interior ministry announced that in 2023 a total of 155,754 illegal migrants had arrived in Italy, up from 103,846 in 2022, an increase of nearly 50%, according to a report from the European Union-funded website InfoMigrants.

For Meloni, the numbers are representative of the biggest failure of her government so far. She had campaigned hard on reducing illegal immigration prior to the 2022 election that saw her party, the national-conservative Fratelli d’Italia (FdI), shock the world and place first, ensuring her premiership in a right-wing coalition government.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in late December released its “Palestine Beyond Borders” toolkit, which it said aims to “encourage libraries and bookstores to feature book displays on Palestine” and foster “a deeper appreciation for the multifaceted aspects of Palestinian history.” Included in the kit are a dozen children’s books, one of which calls on kids to “unlock all the truths about Palestine and educate everyone about its true history.”

That book, Baba, What Does My Name Mean?, takes a fictional child “refugee” on a “journey to Palestine,” which, according to a map displayed prominently at the beginning of the book, includes all land from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. The map displays Tel Aviv, Haifa, and other Israeli cities as part of “Palestine,” the capital of which, according to the book, is Al-Quds, an Arabic name for Jerusalem. The book ends by stating that “through persistence and perseverance,” Palestinians will “one day … be free.”

Ramaswamy shot back that the FBI conspicuously has never denied that law enforcement agents were on duty in the crowd. He argued that federal officials repeatedly “lied” to the American people, not only about that investigation but one that has gotten much less attention: the alleged failed plot in 2020 to kidnap and kill Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat.

“It was entrapment,” Ramaswamy told CNN’s Phillip. “FBI agents putting them up to a kidnapping plot that we were told was true but wasn’t.”

An analysis of Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) data indicates that the COVID-19 vaccines are “significantly” more deadly than the flu vaccine, according to Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.).

The review was conducted by the senator’s staff and involved a certain level of assumption given that no publicly available data exist regarding how many flu vaccine doses were administered in the United States over the past 10 years.

Using the number of distributed doses to generate that figure, they found that the number of deaths per million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines (25.5) far exceeded those estimated for the flu vaccine (0.46).

Violence was rife yet again in many major Western European cities on New Year’s Eve, with rioting, brawling, attacks on emergency services, and the burning of cars becoming regular attractions in migrant-majority districts.

As we reported on Tuesday, January 2nd, German authorities and politicians are describing scenes of violence on New Year’s Eve as the “new normal”, after yet another night of crimes committed on the streets of Berlin and other cities.

Authorities in France were also keen to highlight how a minor drop in the number of arrests and the number of police officers injured was a “success.” Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said the 380 arrests made nationwide overnight was a 10% drop compared with a year ago. Authorities counted 745 vehicle fires, also 10% fewer than last year, and about 40 police officers suffered slight injuries, a 40% drop. The burning of cars is a regular occurrence in the migrant-majority districts of Paris on New Year’s Eve, and also during riots and celebrations.

Two explosions wounded several people on Wednesday near the cemetery in Iran where a ceremony was being held to mark the 2020 killing of Iran’s top commander Qassem Soleimani in a U.S. drone attack, Iranian state media reported.

Iranian state television reported a first and then a second explosion during the ceremony in the southeastern city of Kerman, saying several people had been wounded.

The semi-official Nournews said “several gas canisters exploded on the road leading to the cemetery and relevant authorities are monitoring the situation”.

If Muslims don’t have any Christians or Jews to blow up, they’re quite happy to blow up other Muslims.
