Fauci Believes J&J COVID Vaccine ‘Pause’ Will Be Lifted by Friday Yeah, but how long before it will be available to people, even if they ask for it? How many ‘health care providers’ will balk at offering it, even when they’re allowed to, out of an excess of caution? Anybody who has a bad reaction is not going to sue just J&J.

Fauci Floats Possibility That A ‘Warning’ Will Be Added To Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Although I have heard no proposal that the Pfizer vaccine, which has at least as many bad-reaction cases (to the point that Denmark has stopped using it), will have such a warning. I know the title may seem provocative to some as this idea is but a subset of a universe of things we proles are not supposed to even think about, much less say out loud. If it seems provocative, good, because it seems to me to be high time more people started talking openly about what is happening all around us every day.

As I walk toward Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s office, I notice a large flag and sign opposing one another across the hall. Greene’s neighbor, Democratic Rep. Marie Newman, has recently planted a transgender pride flag to protest Greene’s opinion that biological men should not be playing women’s sports. Greene responded by posting a sign that says, ‘There are TWO genders: MALE & FEMALE. “Trust The Science.”’

Nothing so surely signals the essential emptiness of Joe Biden than his rapid flip-flop Friday on raising the cap on the number of asylum seekers the United States will accept. At first the Biden Administration announced that they would not lift the relatively low cap that Trump had adopted, but following “outcry” from “Progressives,” Biden did a pirouette worthy of Bolshie ballerina and said he’d now lift the cap. One reason Biden had held the line, however briefly, on the asylum cap is that he’s polling terribly on immigration. But all it took was a gust of hot wind from “Progressives” to make him retreat.

“What you see is an attempt on the part of the left to change the conversation about violent crime,” he said. “Let’s be very clear… it’s the war on ICE and law enforcement that is causing the debate [on] surging violent crime in America’s major cities.”
“If you want to save thousands of lives in this country every single year, take the strategy and tactics that New York’s [former] mayor Rudy Giuliani deployed in the ’90s and apply those nationwide. Support … long prison sentences, take violent offenders off the streets. In the case of criminal illegal immigrants, send them home.”

Unlike at a conventional natural gas plant, the energy startup’s technology burns natural gas with pure oxygen, instead of the air, only producing carbon dioxide and water as byproducts. Most of the CO2 is reused as part of Net Power’s four-step cycle, with the excess CO2 captured and “pipeline ready” for underground storage.
Cue handwaving by the people who want to ban ‘fossil fuels’ no matter what.

Freeberg nails it.
There is a bloated “new world” subclass of these that begin with, or could begin with, the words: “You see, what we’re trying to do is make a new world in which…”
“You see, we’re trying to make a world in which everyone uses the Metric System.” “You see, we want a new world in which men and boys are not so attracted to fit girls, or who are attracted to girls who are not so fit.” “You see, what we’re trying to do is make a new world in which money is not what motivates people.” “You see, we want a better environment in which bullying is a thing of the past.” “You see, we want to rid the world of bigotry forever.” It has not been lost on me that when such activists win at everything and reform everything exactly the way they want it, the things they wanted relegated to the past are not relegated to the past. They “celebrate” these past vices and plagues as if they were present things. Sometimes they even bring them back again so they have something they can continue vanquishing. And the new world they’re building, far from being a dream world, is the stuff of nightmares. No one with a choice would actually live in it…but people who don’t have choices, are compelled to do so, and suffering on a large scale is the unavoidable result.

An “agrarian” future for New York City? A “people’s bank” to redistribute wealth? Our mayoral hopefuls have harnessed the old liberal battle cry, “Never let a crisis go to waste,” to saddle up a jolly Trojan horse of far-left wish lists masquerading as remedies to the worst economic and social crisis the city has ever seen.
Instead of legitimately debating how City Hall should tackle genuine issues once COVID-19 abates — like reining in mentally-ill pushers on the subway — our mayoral wannabes prefer to toss around the Marxist-Leninist lingo of “the people,” “revolution” and “redistribution.”

Note the implicit admission that ‘the Republican side of the aisle’ is not the side of the aisle he is on. CNN has apparently given up even the pretense of reporting news rather than spreading propaganda.
The liberal hackery was strong on NBC’s Sunday Today as political director Chuck Todd claimed that the debate on how to stop gun violence in America was not a discussion on the method, but a refusal by Republicans to want to stop the killing of innocent people at all. His ridiculous smear came a few days after multiple people were killed at an Indiana FedEx facility by a 19-year-old who was known to the FBI and had a shotgun confiscated from him previously.
Ignoring the fact that the state’s red flag law had failed to keep the troubled teen from purchased two rifles last year, despite the FBI monitoring him, host Willie Geist lamented to Todd about how President Biden was relying on Congress to pass legislation.

A new study by scientists at Kyoto University and the University of Fukui, however, may offer some hope. The team reports that an antibody for one gene — uterine sensitization associated gene-1 or USAG-1 — can stimulate tooth growth in mice suffering from tooth agenesis, a congenital condition. The paper was published in Science Advances.
For some reason, just reporting the news is apparently not enough, even in a publication allegedly devoted to science; it’s necessary to lead off with some sort of cutesy story, as in this report.

When racist graffiti appeared on the walls of a dormitory at Albion College in Michigan, the college heads and student body were outraged. The graffiti, which included racial slurs, anti-Semitic remarks and multiple references to the Ku Klux Klan, prompted college officials to put forward a $1,000 bounty for anyone with information as to the perpetrator. Albion College President Mathew Johnson warned that ‘if they are Albion College students, they will also immediately be subject to the student conduct process — including the potential for suspension or expulsion’. Criminal charges would follow.
…
Then, the police investigation found that the perpetrator of the crime had in fact been a 21-year-old black student. The college responded by removing him from campus while they conducted a full investigation as part of the student judicial process.
Rather than expressing relief that white supremacists hadn’t in fact been running amok on campus — the graffiti included the phrases ‘KKK’, ‘KKK White Power’, and ‘Albion is racist we do exist KKK’ — college officials simply doubled down on their assertions, declaring that the issue of racism at the school extended beyond the graffiti incident: ‘We know the acts of racism that have occurred this week are not about one particular person or one particular incident…we know that there is a significant history of racial pain and trauma on campus and we are taking action to repair our community.’
The fact that no witches had been found merely indicated that they were amazingly successful is hiding their nefarious activities. Burn the witch!

The radicalization of the Ben & Jerry’s PR department has been one of the stranger spectacles of recent years. After all, for all its hippyish origins and homespun shtick, Ben & Jerry’s is a corporate giant flogging expensive ice creams with wacky names like Cherry Garcia and Truffle Kerfuffle. And yet it has become remarkably preoccupied with virtue-signaling and moral hectoring. It is hard to tell whether this is a deliberate strategy for attention, or if someone’s pious nephew has simply seized control of the social-media accounts at head office.

Nineteen police officers in Albuquerque, New Mexico, quit the police department’s specialized protest team after an officer was put on leave following a protest.
“They don’t feel supported here, and they don’t feel trust. They feel second-guessed, and they don’t feel that they can do their job, no matter how perfect they do their job, without getting in trouble,” Shaun Willoughby, the president of the Albuquerque Police Officers’ Association, told KOB4.

BLUF: Government regulation.
Excessive concern about low levels of radiation led to a regulatory standard known as ALARA: As Low As Reasonably Achievable. What defines “reasonable”? It is an ever-tightening standard. As long as the costs of nuclear plant construction and operation are in the ballpark of other modes of power, then they are reasonable.
This might seem like a sensible approach, until you realize that it eliminates, by definition, any chance for nuclear power to be cheaper than its competition. Nuclear can‘t even innovate its way out of this predicament: under ALARA, any technology, any operational improvement, anything that reduces costs, simply gives the regulator more room and more excuse to push for more stringent safety requirements, until the cost once again rises to make nuclear just a bit more expensive than everything else. Actually, it‘s worse than that: it essentially says that if nuclear becomes cheap, then the regulators have not done their job.

I haven’t seen much humor in life during the past year or so, but one thing that has been uproariously hilarious lately is the orchestrated media narrative that President Joe Biden is bipartisan and conciliatory. Please give me a moment to catch my breath.
I think it was Karl Rove who recently observed that the media’s effective definition of bipartisan legislation is not that significant numbers of both parties’ lawmakers support a bill but that some poll somewhere shows that a large percentage of Americans of each party support some vaguely described initiative, even if zero Republican legislators support the actual bill. You can frame a poll question to get the result you want.

After over a year of Democrats and their allies in the liberal media repeatedly demanding trillions of taxpayer dollars be spent on COVID relief and expanding unemployment benefits, on Friday, MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle discovered people were deciding to rely on government checks rather than return to work. She even confronted a top economic advisor for the Biden White House about the troubling trend.
“We know people who’ve been out of work are getting the much-needed enhanced jobless benefits from now until September,” Ruhle remarked to White House economic adviser Jared Bernstein during her 9:00 a.m. ET hour show. However, she then revealed the downside of the government doling out that money: “But I want to share with you part of my conversation with a local florist….She is trying to hire some seasonal part-time workers and here’s what she’s up against.”
Let’s hear it for that Biden Boom.

The US federal government may very well be the most complex human undertaking in existence, an immortal leviathan with millions of moving parts and thousands of distinct job titles.
Or that’s what it was, anyway. Now, America’s federal workers and appointees, from the lowliest to the mightiest, appear to have but one shared job: fighting racism, sexism, and the other evil -isms, and condemning the country that overpays them. The Joint Chiefs of Staff are now the Joint Chiefs of Women’s Empowerment. The HUD Secretary is Secretary of Reminding You That Redlining Happened 60 Years Ago.
And then we have President Biden’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield. On Wednesday, Thomas-Greenfield spoke to the National Action Network, Al Sharpton’s organization for transmuting activist energy into money. In her address, Thomas-Greenfield indicated that she would much rather be ambassador to your local middle school’s anti-racism presentation in the auditorium.

n the political realm, the absurdity of it all is too much to ignore. I was talking with a friend who was never fond of Trump. He voted for him, at least that is what he said, but he thought Trump was a clown. He said to me, “You’re my age. Did you ever think Joe Biden would be President?” It was one of those moments when the ridiculousness of the age jumps out at you. Normal white people are walking around with the same thought in their head. We live in clown world.
At lunch the other day, the economy was the topic. One person would mention the bad news, like the rising cost of most things. Someone would counter with the stock market or the supposed hiring spike. This went back and forth until someone finally said, “You know, none of this could be true at all. No one knows what’s going on because we can’t trust anything we’re being told.” Again, I detected that detached bemusement that comes when you stop pretending it matters.
