“It’s very obvious that the Liberals have no plan to deal with illegal refugees,” Leitch told The Daily Caller Monday. “The promised a plan in November. There was no plan. They promised again in December and January. Now it’s March and there’s no plan, only talk.”
Quelle surprise.
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale was talking on the weekend. He went to Emerson, Manitoba on Saturday to survey the isolated Prairie border town that has been a flashpoint for illegals ignoring official crossings and to offer $30,000 to the local volunteer fire department — ostensibly to process illegals.
…
“That is complete nonsense. Goodale’s double-talk is unacceptable and avoids stating the obvious that these people need to be sent back to the U.S,” she said.
Straight into the arms of ICE, who will know what to do.

A New York Times columnist is encouraging IRS employees to commit a felony by leaking Donald Trump’s tax returns to his newspaper.
“If you’re in IRS and have a certain president’s tax return that you’d like to leak, my address is: NYT, 620 Eighth Ave, NY NY 10018,” Nicholas Kristof wrote on Twitter on Sunday.
‘Journalists’, especially those in the DemLegHump Media, have never considered that the laws that apply to everybody else apply to them as well.
I doubt that this is a wise move with Jeff Sessions as AG. Kristoff just might wind up behind bars.

What everyone knew would happen as a result of Philadelphia’s 1.5 cents-per-ounce soda tax began materializing on Wednesday, as Pepsi announced that it would lay off roughly 20 percent of its workforce there over the next several months. Coverage at both Philly.com and Associated Press allowed the city to engage in fantasy by claiming without meaningful challenge, or even clarification, that Pepsi in particular, but clearly other beverage makers by implication, should be using profits earned elsewhere to subsidize their Philly operations.

ZMan looks at the Washington scene.
There’s another aspect to this that has become abundantly clear over the last couple of months. Both parties wanted to see Clinton win. The Republicans, at least the leadership, liked the setup under Obama. They got to pose as rock-ribbed conservatives fighting Obama, without ever having to do anything. Democrats liked that Obama was just issuing executive orders and bypassing the parliamentary process. The Washington ecosystem was at equilibrium as long as everyone on both sides played their part.
The proof of this is the fact that the GOP has no plans ready for the 2017 legislative session. They have been talking for years about ObamaCare and now we know they never planned to do anything. The same is true of taxes, which is the one thing Republicans like doing. They have no plans for anything, not even something symbolic. They not only have no plans, they are still staggering around in shock, not sure what they should be doing. Suddenly nothing makes sense to the people inside the bubble and they are scared.

We’ve been posting about European Antifa groups for more than ten years. “Antifa” (or “anti-fa”) is short for “anti-fascist”, and the Antifas are prominent in almost any European demonstration or riot against the right wing. If a politician expresses sentiments that are even mildly nationalistic, or talks about limiting immigration, he can expect an Antifa manifestation outside his offices, complete with black clothing, black masks and hoods, flags and banners featuring logos and slogans of the Antifa and affiliated groups, burning trash containers, flung paving stones, and violent confrontations with police.
I learned about the Antifa was when I was first delving into the Danish anti-fascist scene. Back then (2007) a local manifestation of the anarchists known as the Autonomer was more prominent in Copenhagen than the Antifa; I don’t know if that’s still true. But the Antifa groups were dominant in Sweden, Germany, and the Netherlands. With the help of El Inglés and our Flemish correspondent VH, we posted a couple of investigative reports on the anti-fascist scene in Northern and Western Europe.
Since then it has become clear that the Antifas act as the enforcement arm of the permanent bureaucratic state in Europe; that is, the establishment that remains in place and manages political, cultural, and economic affairs regardless of which party is in power in any given country — what we now know as the “Deep State” here in the USA. Such functions are particularly concentrated in the bureaucracy of the European Union, which has no democratic component whatsoever — the European Parliament is a figurehead body (and a gravy train for those elected to it), lacking any significant power.

A French teenager’s sickle cell disease has been reversed using a pioneering treatment to change his DNA.
The world-first procedure at Necker Children’s Hospital in Paris offers hope to millions of people with the blood disorder.
Scientists altered the genetic instructions in his bone marrow so it made healthy red blood cells.
So far, the therapy has worked for 15 months and the child is no longer on any medication.

Nicholas Eberstadt lays out why everything sucks.
It turns out that the year 2000 marks a grim historical milestone of sorts for our nation. For whatever reasons, the Great American Escalator, which had lifted successive generations of Americans to ever higher standards of living and levels of social well-being, broke down around then—and broke down very badly.
The warning lights have been flashing, and the klaxons sounding, for more than a decade and a half. But our pundits and prognosticators and professors and policymakers, ensconced as they generally are deep within the bubble, were for the most part too distant from the distress of the general population to see or hear it. (So much for the vaunted “information era” and “big-data revolution.”) Now that those signals are no longer possible to ignore, it is high time for experts and intellectuals to reacquaint themselves with the country in which they live and to begin the task of describing what has befallen the country in which we have lived since the dawn of the new century.

Rinkeby is a heavily culturally enriched suburb of Stockholm. Its population consists almost entirely of immigrants, and most of those are Muslims. For many years it has been subjected to gang violence, rioting, rape, arson, assault, theft, and all the other problems associated with “refugees” wherever they accumulate in Europe. Rinkeby has been in the international news lately, thanks to Donald Trump — and a new spate of rioting and car-burnings.

The number of attacks may seem relatively low, with an increase from 10 detonations in 2015 to 27 last year, according a police report released Monday. Police still warn that the trend stands out among “comparable countries” without an ongoing war.
The report says grenades have become the weapon of choice for criminal gangs for their availability, cheap price and low risk of prosecution.
…
A majority of the grenades originate from former Yugoslavian countries, where a large arsenal was left behind after the war in the 1990s. Jihadis have been able to obtain M70 assault rifles from the war to carry out attacks across Europe, while M75 grenades often end up in the city of Malmo in southern Sweden.
The city has recorded at least 26 grenade detonations since 2014 and they can be purchased for less than $140 on the black market with same day delivery.

The principle of free speech was not the only thing to suffer injury at Middlebury College on Thursday: a professor was physically assaulted by members of the mob that shut down Charles Murray’s talk.
That professor, Allison Stanger, had to go to the emergency room and is now wearing a neck brace.
This is behavior characteristic of — dare I say it? — Nazis in the ’30s. And yet Trump is the New Hitler.

Turn on a television crime drama. Here is a scenario that occurs with nauseating regularity: The investigators go to the house of a person of interest in the murder of a young girl. The timid woman who answers the door is wearing a cross. Uh-oh. That’s called a “clue.” I always turn to Mr. AG and say, “Crazy Christian Alert! Her husband did it. The girl was a foster child, molested by the Christian man and then killed to cover up the crime. The wife is cowed because she is also a battered wife.” I always hope I am wrong; but I never am. In Hollywood, nobody ”good” wears a cross. Out of ideas for decades, Hollywood needs villains and really has only three permitted categories.
You can’t suggest that black gangstas commit horrific, pointless, drug-related crime every day that ends in “y.” Racist! You can’t suggest that Muslims kill their daughters in honor killings. Islamophobic! And, you can’t sell a script in which an illegal immigrant from El Savador is just a vicious, drug-dealing gang member with three teardrop murder tattoos whose “Dreamer” status comes from sniffing glue. Those are “No-Go” Zones in Hollywood.

The months-long protests against the Dakota Access oil pipeline project has seriously hurt the revenues of a casino operated by the Standing Rock Sioux tribe – the tribe that initiated the protests as a portion of the DAPL will pass through its territory.
The casino is facing a shortfall of US$6 million, in part because the protests blocked the main road leading customers from towns in the area to the complex, according to tribal officials involved in running the business. The casino funds social programs across the Standing Rock territory and the shortfall is certain to be felt in the community.

When it comes to the structural and electronic components of aircraft, they have to be able to stand up to constant mechanical stress and vibrations without cracking, yet they can’t just be soft like rubber. And actually, the same thing applies to the outside of our teeth. Given that fact, a University of Michigan team led by Prof. Nicholas Kotov has created synthetic tooth enamel, which may someday be coming to an airplane near you.

Victor Davis Hanson counts it up so that you don’t have to.
No, Trump did not have any plans to invade Mexico, as Buzzfeed and the Associated Press alleged.
No, Trump’s father did not run for Mayor of New York by peddling racist television ads, as reported by Sidney Blumenthal.
No, there were not mass resignations at the State Department in protest of its new leaders, as was reported by the Washington Post.
No, Trump’s attorney did not cut a deal with the Russians in Prague. Nor did Trump indulge in sexual escapades in Moscow. Buzzfeed again peddled those fake news stories.
No, a supposedly racist Trump did not remove the bust of Martin Luther King Jr. from the White House, as a Time Magazine reporter claimed.
No, election results in three states were not altered by hackers or computer criminals to give Trump the election, as implied by New York Magazine.
No, Michael Flynn did not tweet that he was a scapegoat. That was a media fantasy endorsed by Nancy Pelosi.
In fact, Daniel Payne of the Federalist has compiled a lengthy list of sensational stories about Trump’s supposed buffooneries, mistakes, and crudities that all proved either outright lies or were gross exaggerations and distortions.

It sure would seem that way. Jenny, 26, from New Orleans, was outspoken against President Trump. She says she wouldn’t date a Trump supporter, because there would be “fundamental differences in the values we hold most important.” If she were in the middle of a good first date and found out the guy was a Trump fan, she’d “try and finish the evening like nothing was wrong — but definitely wouldn’t make concrete plans for a second date.”
Not everyone manages to hold it together as well. Peter, 41, in Midtown East has gotten dramatic reactions from dates when he mentions he’s a Trump supporter. “One stormed out,” he said. Another “just shut down and stared into space.” He describes sitting next to women who are drinking $30 glasses of wine and talking about their upcoming Vermont ski trips — while also discussing their fear that America has become Nazi Germany.
It’s murder out there. The solution, of course, is not to associate with proglodytes.

A week ago, the Columbus Dispatch reported that Wendy’s, the fast-food chain, announced “plans to install self-ordering kiosks in 1,000 of its stores — about 16 percent of its locations — by the end of the year.” Although company officials observed 18 months ago that such a move would be inevitable if the trend towards laws demanding far-above-market minimum wages continued, both J.D. Malone’s Dispatch story and the Associated Press’s condensed version based on Malone’s work do not mention minimum wages at all.

A few days after President Trump issued his infamous “travel ban” executive order, stories began appearing in the media about illegal aliens in the USA who were braving arctic conditions to walk across the border from the USA into Canada. The reports implied (or even stated) that the puir, puir “refugees” were fleeing the country before the Xenophobe-in-Chief could deport them back to wherever they came from.
But were the border-crossers really running away from the Evil Trump? Or were they running towards the welcoming arms of Prime Minister Justin “Baby Doc” Trudeau? After all, Canada offers newly-arrived culture-enrichers far more generous welfare benefits than they could get in the USA, even when the country was governed by the Islamophilic Barack Hussein Obama.
Who cares? As long as they’re gone.
