How can the murder capital of the country be a ‘sanctuary city’?

Sanctuary cities are like the Land of Oz:  a magical but terrifying world where reality has been stood on its head and the realm is ruled by weak leaders who hide behind grand words and imposing facades. Did I just describe Chicago and its delusional mayor, Rahm Emanuel?  Get this vigorous quotation from the freedom-loving civic leader:  “To all those who are, after Tuesday’s election, very nervous and filled with anxiety as we’ve spoken to, you are safe in Chicago, you are secure in Chicago and you are supported in Chicago.  Chicago will always be a sanctuary city.”

Yes, about as safe as a hen in a fox house.  Seriously, nobody is that safe and secure in Chicago because Chicago is the murder capital of North America and carries that distinction like a murderer caught in the act with a gun in hand.  With an annual homicide rate above New York and Los Angeles, Chicago has become a little bit of hell on earth with competing gangs, drug wars, and the general ascendancy of the lowlifes.  Contemporary life – and death – in Chicago has far outweighed all of the worst stereotypes of the Prohibition era when Al Capone ruled this town.  Does Mayor Emanuel really think the illegal immigrants are “nervous and filled with anxiety?”  What universe is this completely unfeeling, utterly detached municipal politician living in?  It’s the legal citizens of Chicago who are more than just nervous and filled with anxiety; they are scared as hell of being caught in the crossfire of a gang gunfight.

The U.S. Geological Survey has made its largest discovery of recoverable crude ever under parts of West Texas, the federal agency announced Tuesday.

A recent assessment found the “Wolfcamp shale” geologic formation in the Midland area holds an estimated 20 billion barrels of accessible oil along with 16 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 1.6 billion barrels of natural gas liquids. That’s three times higher than the amount of recoverable crude the agency found in the Bakken-Three Forks region in the upper midwest in 2013, making it “the largest estimated continuous oil accumulation that USGS has assessed in the United States to date,” according to a statement.

That’s going to irritate a lot of environmentalists.

In the latest incident of anti-weapon hysteria to erupt in a school setting, officials at a middle school in South Florida have suspended an 11-year-old girl for six days because she brought a child-proof, toddler-size cutlery knife to school and used it to cut a peach in half for a friend.

School officials say they suspended the girl for six days — and notified police — because she violated a countywide weapons policy when she used the toddler knife to cut a peach in half for her friend.

“The school followed district policy regarding this incident and continues to work with the student and parents involved,” a Broward County school district spokeswoman said in a statement obtained by WPLG. “It is the district’s priority to maintain safe and secure campuses for students and staff at all times.”

This is the sort of absurdity that forms the undercurrent of Orwell’s 1984 — the creation of a system in which individual rationality is inadequate to determine what course of action might avoid punishment, all tending toward a mindless lethargy punctuated by occasional anxious obedience to authority. Environmental regulators in Wyoming say water contamination previously blamed on fracking was instead “almost certainly” caused by the EPA.

Anti-fracking activists repeatedly cited the plight of Pavillion, Wyo., as proof the process should be banned. EPA investigators accidentally drilled their own monitoring wells incorrectly, introducing the contaminants which were later detected in water samples. The agency followed this up by openly theorizing that fracking was to blame for the contamination.

It will be no surprise to anyone I’m unhappy with the result of this election. Donald Trump was manifestly the worst presidential candidate in living memory, an ignorant, sex-assaulting vindictive bigot, enamored of strongmen and contemptuous of the law, consorting with white nationalists and hucksters — and now he’s president-elect, which is appalling and very sad for the nation. I don’t see much good coming out of this, either in the immediate or long-term, not in the least because if he does any of the things he promises to do, his impact will be ruinous to the nation. Add to the fact that he’s the GOP candidate, and the GOP now will have the White House, Congress and will appoint the next Supreme Court justice, and, well. There aren’t any grownups in the GOP anymore, and we’re going to find out what that means for all of us.

Now, anybody who thinks that Donald Trump is a worse Presidential candidate than Hillary Clinton has obviously some major blind spots. And anyone who thinks that ‘there aren’t any grownups in the GOP anymore’ needs to take a good hard look at the Democrats (who seem to have a lock on the You Can’t Make This Shit Up category) when it comes to lack of grownups.

John’s problem is the same problem that pretty much everybody in the Crust has right now — an inability to see that this result is entirely a self-inflicted wound. The Democrats have spent the last forty-plus years balkanizing the American electorate into ever-smaller and more precisely delineated Victim Groups whose votes they can then buy with government benefits in order to cling to power. Their fetish for ‘diversity’ and ‘inclusion’ has turned around and bitten them in the ass when it comes to the biggest victim group of them all: white people, males, heterosexuals, and people who were born here and speak understandable English.

When a white person is told, as you can see from all over the ‘news’ media, that merely being white makes him a racist, what incentive does he (or she) have not to be a racist? There is no way to escape being tagged as a racist, so there is no downside from actually being a racist, and there may be an upside. The ancient proverb ‘might as well be hanged for a sheep as for a lamb’ applies — if you’re going to do the time, why not commit the crime? The same thing applies to sexism, ‘homophobia’, xenophobia, or whatever the bigot-of-the-day term is — if that is the only road that is left for people to go down, then that’s the road that they’re going to go down, and the results will get very ugly very quickly.

When Bill Clinton gets elected President, the message is that being a congenital liar and a sexual predator is no disqualification from being President. When Barack Obama is elected President, the message is that being a racist and inexperienced is no disqualification from being President. When Hillary Clinton gets the Democrat nomination and is praised from hither to yon as being The Most Qualified Women Ever, then the message is that being a crook and incompetent is no disqualification from being President.

The reason Trump is President is because the Democrat Party of Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton have lowered the bar so much that even a three-legged goat like Donald Trump can get over it. And they have nowhere to point the finger except back at themselves.

In that role, he achieved national notoriety for investigating Sweet Cakes by Melissa, a bakery that refused to furnish a wedding cake for two lesbians on the grounds that doing so would violate the owners’ Christian beliefs. In 2015, Avakian levied a $135,000 fine on the store’s owners, Aaron and Melissa Klein, declaring that their refusal to produce the cake wasn’t protected by the First Amendment and instead was simply illegal discrimination. This included 63% of white men and 53% of white women, with the Clinton’s campaign’s attempts at launching an anti-male gender war stumbling as hard as Hillary did outside her van this past September 11. A majority of young whites voted for Trump. And despite the media’s ceaseless attempts to portray all Trump voters as uneducated—I’m still waiting for any mainstream outlet to use the term “non-college-educated black voters”—he was favored by a majority of educated whites.

But it wasn’t strictly a “whitelash,” as chocolate commie cueball Van Jones insisted. Trump performed more poorly among white voters than Mitt Romney did in 2012. And more nonwhites voted for Trump than they did for Romney. Electing Trump didn’t prove America is “racist.” It proved that shouting “RACIST!” no longer works.

For months, the only thing that’s surprised me about Donald Trump is my friends’ astonishment at his success. What’s driving it is the class culture gap.

One little-known element of that gap is that the white working class (WWC) resents professionals but admires the rich. Class migrants (white-collar professionals born to blue-collar families) report that “professional people were generally suspect” and that managers are college kids “who don’t know shit about how to do anything but are full of ideas about how I have to do my job,” said Alfred Lubrano in Limbo. Barbara Ehrenreich recalled in 1990 that her blue-collar dad “could not say the word doctor without the virtual prefix quack. Lawyers were shysters…and professors were without exception phonies.” Annette Lareau found tremendous resentment against teachers, who were perceived as condescending and unhelpful.

Michèle Lamont, in The Dignity of Working Men, also found resentment of professionals — but not of the rich. “[I] can’t knock anyone for succeeding,” a laborer told her. “There’s a lot of people out there who are wealthy and I’m sure they worked darned hard for every cent they have,” chimed in a receiving clerk. Why the difference? For one thing, most blue-collar workers have little direct contact with the rich outside of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. But professionals order them around every day. The dream is not to become upper-middle-class, with its different food, family, and friendship patterns; the dream is to live in your own class milieu, where you feel comfortable — just with more money. “The main thing is to be independent and give your own orders and not have to take them from anybody else,” a machine operator told Lamont. Owning one’s own business — that’s the goal. That’s another part of Trump’s appeal.

I should think that a good start would be to excise the tolerance that Democrats have traditionally shown for crooks and grifters in their own ranks, especially among candidates and office-holders. 90% of Hillary Clinton’s problems were due to her being a crook and a congenital liar, and yet Democrats were willing to die in the last ditch to support her. Every one of the special snowflake complaints against Donald Trump apply to Hillary Clinton, in spades, and yet she is still the Prom Queen. Non-Democrat voters see this and conclude, naturally enough, that every Democrat is a crook and a liar, because Democrats wholeheartedly support crooks and liars; so why not elect a crook and liar from ‘our side’? At least we may be allowed to wet our beaks a bit.

If Democrats don’t like the results of the political process, they’ve got nobody to blame but themselves.

Liberal news network CNN is still pushing a hoax story about a Muslim woman who claimed to have been attacked and robbed by supporters of President-elect Donald Trump after his election on Tuesday.

The woman, who attends the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, claimed that two white men, one of whom was wearing a Trump hat, attacked her and stole her wallet and the hijab she was wearing.

The unnamed woman claimed her attackers knocked her to the ground while hurling racial slurs at her.

She later admitted to police that she fabricated the entire thing.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) successfully presents itself to the media as a benign civil rights organization, comparable to the NAACP or the ADL, a description that conservatives ineffectively rail against. In this light, perhaps a tweet sent out just after midnight EST on Nov. 9 by Hussam Ayloush, long-time head of CAIR’s Los Angeles office, will help awaken the press to CAIR’s true Islamist identity.

Ayloush wrote, “Ok, repeat after me: Al-Shaab yureed isqat al-nizaam. (Arab Spring chant).”

That second line is Arabic (“????? ???? ????? ????????”) for “The people wants to bring down the regime.”

In other words, Ayloush unambiguously and directly called for the overthrow of the U.S. government.

The man attacked by a group of black people spoke out on his assault, describing  it as a traffic accident that quickly escalated in a brutal attack.

A viral video circulating the internet shows a group of black people punching and kicking 49-year-old David Wilcox. Bystanders watched Wilcox’s attack, cheering as two black men kicked Wilcox in the stomach and punched him in the face.
