Which today abuses its remaining Christians, as well as Alevis, Kurds, and Jews? Which also committed genocide and pillage against millions of indigenous Christian Armenian, Assyrian, and Greek civilians during the Gallipoli battle and for years afterward? And which arrogantly denies having done so?

Dishonest companies (run at least in part by immigrants) take massive quantities of money and pay it out to people who watch other people’s kids, while other people get paid to watch theirs. That is, all these people have well-paying full-time jobs watching each other’s kids. Furthermore, the companies that issue fraudulent qualifying “certificates” to the caregivers are the same ones that receive the government money to pay for the child care.

When exposed, the immigrants know exactly how to press the right politically correct buttons with white people: they call the TV crew “racists”.

According to the Tunisian interior ministry and private security sources, approximately 3,000 Tunisians have joined the Syrian civil war, the overwhelming majority of them aiming to fight against President Bashar al-Assad. Soufan Group, a security consultancy firm, notes that this number is starkly disproportionate to the country’s 11 million inhabitants, and suggests that Tunisia has contributed more fighters to IS than both Saudi Arabia and Turkey. It may seem surprising that the Arab Spring’s only democratic success story has produced so many extremists. In fact, the country’s shaky democratic transition may itself be a primary cause. Lacking the heavy-handed security apparatus of an authoritarian state, but not yet strong or prosperous enough to offer its citizens a better life, Tunisia has become fertile territory for extremist recruiters — as demonstrated by this week’s bloody terrorist attack in the center of Tunis, for which IS has claimed responsibility.

The recent bulldozing by the Islamic State (ISIS) of the ancient cities of Nimrud, Hatra, and Korsabad, three of the world’s greatest archaeological and cultural sites, is just this group latest round of assaults across the large area under its control. Since January 2014, the flamboyantly barbaric ISIS has blown up Shi’i mosques, bulldozed churches, pulverized shrines, and plundered museums.

Worse, the ISIS record fits into an old and common pattern of destruction of historical artifacts by Muslims.

The terrorist attack at Tunis’ Bardo museum (one of the world’s great museums) which killed 20 foreign tourists, is not just a blow to Tunisia’s political stability, but also a strike against its economy.

Though the government has been downplaying the role of organized Islamist radicals in the attack, a new group calling itself the Uqba ibn Nafi Battalion posted a video online which seemed to betray a detailed knowledge of how the attack took place. Praising the strike (while not yet taking full responsibility for it), the group went on to outline a strategy aimed specifically at foreigners….

On March 3, 2015, Religion News Service online carried two stories next to each other, both dealing with judicial measures against apostasy, though under greatly different circumstances. Dictionary definitions of apostasy (from the Greek apostasis/”departure” or “defection”) differ depending on cultural context, but there is a simple meaning, very close to how the term is used in the vernacular today: an abandonment or renunciation of a religious or political faith to which an individual is supposed to adhere. In the first RNS  story the judicial process was initiated by an Islamic court in Saudi Arabia, in the second story by the authorities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (also known as Mormons), whose headquarters are in Utah. The urge to connect these two dots is irresistible (at least to me).

Hint: Mormons don’t kill people for apostasy.

Bard’s latest book is a well-written overview of the history of the Middle East, Islam, and the Jews since the early twentieth century. The author chooses this beginning point largely because it roughly coincides with the reemergence of a flourishing Jewish presence in the Middle East. The work also covers the creation of current Arab states by European powers as well as conflicts within the Muslim world, especially, though not exclusively, the Sunni-Shiite rivalry. Bard includes secular anti-Semitic terror groups in his study and reminds us of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s terror activities since the late 1960s.

Back then Bolton was still largely without cultural enrichment. Yet in 2014, not only was there a chemistry teacher by the name of Jamshed Javeed at Sharples High School in Bolton, but his life’s dream was to travel to Syria and wage jihad in the way of Allah for the Islamic State.

The before-and-after photos above show Mr. Javeed’s jihad transformation, from a clean-cut reputable young man with a responsible job into a disheveled and hirsute mujahid. Kind of like a hippie in the old days, but without as much emphasis on peace ’n’ love.

Sweden’s resettlement assistants are supposed to help immigrants learn the language, assist them in filling out paperwork, and generally help them fit into Swedish society. But the government says many of them instead were recruiting people to fight alongside terrorist groups such as ISIS. It has disbanded the entire network of resettlement assistants.

Mullah Krekar (original name: Najmeddine Faraj Ahmad) is a Kurd who moved from Iraq to Norway in 1991. We’ve been following Mr. Krekar’s antics for the past eight years, and he was mau-mauing his Norwegian hosts well before we started watching him. He’s engaged in incitement, threatened prominent people, been arrested, and sent to prison (for five years, starting in 2012, but they let him out early). He’s not a Norwegian citizen, yet the Norwegian government has managed not to chuck him out for all those years — if I recall correctly, human rights law prevents his deportation.

The mullah is kind of a Norwegian Anjem Choudary — only less of a buffoon; more serious and menacing. He got himself in trouble again the other day, thanks to the interview shown below. He’s now been arrested for praising the Charlie Hebdo terrorists. Prime Minister Erna Solberg said that Mr. Krekar “exhibited ‘extreme attitudes’ that aren’t shared by the majority of Muslims.”

Pay close attention to what he says in this interview. You’ll notice that in his explanation of Islamic theology and legal practice, he sounds exactly like Maj. Steve Coughlin, Robert Spencer, Dr. Bill Warner, and Dr. Andrew Bostom — except, of course, that Mullah Krekar is on the opposite side.

One more thing — he’s lived in Norway for twenty-four years, yet he responds to his interviewer in Arabic.

Over the past couple of weeks, the open jihad has taken ground in Libya, Nigeria, Syria, and Iraq.  It’s ongoing success is due to innovations developed by a large and growing number of contributing groups.  Groups like:

• ISIS affiliated forces in Syria, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and Yemen to
• Boko Haram in Nigeria to
• ISIS and AQ affiliated terrorist groups  inside Saudi Arabia, UK, Egypt, etc.

Open jihad evolves (gets better) through massively parallel co-development.  All of the groups in the open jihad, no matter how small (even down to individuals), can contribute.  They do this by:

1. tinkering with tactics, strategies, and technologies that can be used to advance the open jihad.
2. testing the efficacy of these innovations by using them against the enemy. In other words, throwing them against the wall to see what sticks.
3. copying the innovations that work.

The groups in the open jihad can communicate successful innovations without even using the forms of communication we pay the NSA tens of billions a year to spy on.   Instead, they communicate successful innovation through a process called stigmergy (which we do surprisingly little to analyze).  I first wrote about stigmergy back in 2004.  That earlier description is still valid today.

Reports that “Jihadi John,” the British-accented narrator of ISIS snuff videos, is Mohammed Emwazi — an educated young man from a middle-class background — ought to put the final stake in the pretense that poverty and a lack of education and opportunity fuel Islamist hate.

These events may mystify those who believe the anger of those who president Obama described as ‘having nothing to do with Islam’ is solely directed at Crusaders.  Who think that the events of the last decade are simply payback for Andalusia or the lost mosques which Columbus found on arriving in the New World.

For contrary to the narrative, events in Paris, Denmark, Mosul, Bangladesh and elsewhere suggest that “they” — whoever “they” may be — aren’t coming for Bible-clinging, gun-toting Christians at all.  In fact they may rather avoid them.  On the contrary they are coming for newsmen, writers, artists, atheists, “free thinkers”, etc.

Well they might ask themselves why this turnabout has taken place. Why didn’t ticking the right boxes, supporting the multicultural agenda and voting for all the most progressive candidates on the ballot not give them some measure of immunity from attacks?  The standard theory, as exemplified in a Washington Post article, is that some undiscovered White Man’s sin, lying unnoticed in the bosom of the sincere progressive, has not yet been expiated.   Speaking of the recent identification of Jihadi John as a Londoner named Mohammed Emwazi, the Washington Post article quotes a source characterizing “the ‘gentle, kind’ Jihadi John [as] a ‘beautiful young man’”

News of a video about the training camp for ISIS “cubs” made the headlines a couple of days ago, but not many people were able to watch it before it disappeared from the Web. Some countries are in the process of criminalizing the possession of videos produced by the Islamic State, even the non-violent ones (I’m not sure whether any laws have actually been passed). But what better way is there to understand the threat doctrine of the enemy than to view the propaganda he releases to his own people?

More than a quarter of British Muslims sympathize with the terrorists who committed the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris last month, according to a new ComRes poll conducted for the BBC. These findings indicate that a substantial minority of Muslims in Britain approve of murder against individuals deemed to have insulted the Prophet Mohammed.

Roughly 27 percent of the respondents said that they have “some sympathy for the motives behind the attacks” while 32 percent said that they were not surprised by the terrorist attacks.

The slaughter of 21 Egyptian Christians by Islamic State militants on Feb. 15 took place on the Libyan shore of the Mediterranean. Former Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan recently told the Times of London that unless order is restored in his country, ISIS will secure territory on Libya’s Mediterranean coast within two months. This would increase its potential for attacks in Italy, Greece and elsewhere in Europe. An October ISIS publication pictured St. Peter’s Square under a black flag, and ISIS’s sentiments about Christians are clear.

Greater ISIS access to the Mediterranean would be deeply troubling to the region and a large strategic advance for the terrorist group. ISIS’s prospects for significant naval power are remote. But small boats, fishing vessels, smugglers, and merchant craft that carry concealed weapons could hijack, sink, or rake commercial shipping including cruise liners in the central Mediterranean. This would divide the eastern part of the inland sea from its west and expose Europe’s southern littoral to attacks and kidnappings.

While the world was watching the Academy Awards ceremony, the people of Mosul were watching a different show. They were horrified to see ISIS members burn the Mosul public library. All the employees of the daily newspaper, Avadhnama, were dismissed in the days after Jan. 17, when it published a 2006 cover from Charlie Hebdo showing Muhammad weeping. That image was part of the newspaper’s coverage of the aftermath of the deadly assault on Charlie Hebdo’s Paris offices on Jan. 7 by Islamist militants, who said they were avenging Muslims offended by the French newspaper’s cartoons.

Ms. Dalvi was arrested on Jan. 28. She has been out on bail, but is in hiding because of threats against her.

At the urging of Urdu Patrakar Sangh, an association of Urdu-language journalists in Mumbai, five police complaints against Ms. Dalvi were filed from precincts across the city on the day her newspaper published the cartoon.

“You are free to write anything in our country, but you are not free to hurt religious sentiments,” said Nusrat Ali, a reporter with an Urdu weekly who was among those filing the complaints.

In other words, you are not free to write anything in their country.

In a move reminiscent of ancient history, Saudi Arabia is building a 600-mile-long “Great Wall”—a combined fence and ditch—to separate itself from the Islamic State to the north in Iraq.

The irony here is that those Muslims that Saudi Arabia is trying to keep out are the very same Muslims most nurtured and influenced by a Saudi — or “Wahhabi,” or “Salafi” — worldview.

Put differently, Saudi Arabia is again appreciating how jihad is a volatile instrument of war that can easily backfire on those who support it. “Holy war” is hardly limited to fighting and subjugating “infidels” — whether the West in general, Israel in particular, or the millions of non-Muslim minorities under Islam — but also justifies fighting “apostates,” that is, Muslims accused of not being Islamic enough.

Al-Shabab, the Somalian terrorist group loosely affiliated with al Qaeda, carried out an attack on a shopping mall in Kenya in 2013. Al-Shabab has now released a video that urges its followers in North America and the United Kingdom to execute similar terrorist attacks, including a specific call for an attack on the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.

The mall bans guns, so that rules out the most obvious precaution that shoppers could take.

And so are complicit in their own destruction. I won’t go so far as to say that they deserve it, but Own Damned Fault about covers it.

Hundreds of people attended the funeral of Omar Abdel Hamid El-Hussein, the man who attacked a cafe and a synagogue in Copenhagen. Estimates put the crowd attending who attended his funeral at from 600-700 — this, in Denmark. Many were masked and flashed the ISIS salute. “Up to half of the attendees, who were all men, had masked their faces with jackets or scarves. More directed their index fingers toward the sky, while others beat their chests with a clenched fist.”

It is hard to square the sight of that funeral, with its open defiance, symbolisms and militancy, with the media narrative — a line which the president has sought to advance – that people like the Denmark shooter are crazy. That they are “Lone Wolves”; disturbed individuals and  marginalized persons who belong to no larger community of belief.

They cannot bring themselves to admit that Omar Abdel Hamid El-Hussein was in his own way a sincere adherent of a cause because they would have to admit the cause. Instead the public is encouraged to denigrate him and those like him as lunatics. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Denmark shooter fought against overwhelming odds and tied up a European capital city for hours.

The spot on Svanevej in Copenhagen where police shot Omar el-Hussein to death last Sunday morning has become a place of pilgrimage for “Danish” Muslims. “Youths” from the surrounding area have vowed to return to the spot every Friday and pray for their departed comrade.

The disputed fate of the 21 Coptic Christians abducted in Sirte, Libya is now clear and visible for all to see on video: while holding them down, Islamic State members shove their fingers in the Christians’ eyes, crane their heads back, and slice away at their throats with knives—all in the name of Allah and Islam, all as the slaughtered call out on the “Lord Jesus Christ.”

Reminder for the dimwitted: Islam is an oppressive totalitarian ideology masquerading as a religion with which no co-existence is possible.

For strange psychological reasons that archaeologists who sift through the rubble of our civilization will long ponder, the biggest story of our time cannot be reported honestly.

For example, the Islamic State’s rapidly growing Libyan branch office has just held a mass execution of 21 men. The Government of the United States deplored it thus:

* Monday: Boko Haram, the Muslim militant group based in Nigeria, attacked several towns in neighboring Cameroon, kidnapping 20 people. The Islamic extremists also detonated a car bomb in Niger….

* Tuesday: Craig Stephen Hicks, an ardent atheist who railed online against religion, was accused of killing three young Muslims in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

* Wednesday: ISIS, the Muslim militant group that calls itself the “Islamic State,” launched several attacks across Iraq, striking Kurdish forces in the North and Iraqi civilians in Baghdad.

* Thursday: Al Qaeda killed four Yemeni soldiers while seizing a critical military base in the town of Baihan, taking control of its weaponry, according to local security officials.

* Friday: Boko Haram continued its cross-border attacks, killing four civilians and a soldier in neighboring Chad.

* Saturday: A gunman opened fire at a free-speech forum in Copenhagen, Denmark, where a Swedish cartoonist who had depicted the Prophet Mohammed was scheduled to speak. … Hours after the cafe attack, police said, the gunman made his way to a Copenhagen synagogue and once again opened fire.

* Sunday: In a new video released Sunday by ISIS, the militant group claims to have beheaded over a dozen members of Egypt’s Christian minority on a Libyan beach.

What we have here is a series of atrocities carried out by extremist members of one religion, Islam. You could compile a similar list just about any week out of the year. What makes this a story about “religion,” rather than about Islam? The gratuitous inclusion of liberal Democrat Craig Hicks. But Hicks wasn’t motivated by religious extremism; he is an atheist. And there is zero evidence that the fact that his victims were Muslims had anything to do with his crime. If the victims had been Catholics, we never would have heard of Hicks.

Khalid b Walid came forward with a stone which he flung at her head and there spurted blood on the face of Khalid and so he abused her. Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) heard his (Khalid’s) curse that he had hurled upon her. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Khalid, be gentle. By Him in Whose Hand is my life, she has made such a repentance that even if a wrongful tax-collector were to repent, he would have been forgiven. Then giving command regarding her, he prayed over her and she was buried.

Footage emerged of a student asking Sheikh al-Khaibari whether the Earth was stationary or moving.
