The historic Catalan town of Salt has suffered two consecutive nights of riots following the arrest of a sub-Saharan imam. He had been evicted from a house he had illegally occupied for five years without paying rent. In response, immigrant groups and radical left-wing activists have vandalised property, attacked the police, set fire to dumpsters, and damaged urban infrastructure.

The first episode of violence occurred when around 200 people gathered in front of a local police station, throwing stones and eggs at the officers. The police deployed riot units to control the situation. The second night was even more intense, with hooded individuals attacking law enforcement, setting urban infrastructure on fire, and spreading chaos in the streets. The incidents resulted in six arrested, three of them minors, and one officer sustaining minor injuries.

The disturbances have affected public safety and heightened the sense of disorder in the municipality. Residents worry about these incidents becoming normal and the lack of effective deterrents. Rioters have openly boasted about their actions without fear of legal consequences.

Many local eyewitness accounts say that the Syrian jihadist mass killings targeting Alawites and Christians along Syria’s coast in Latakia and Tartous governates is continuing, even as the mainstream media has largely stopped covering the massacres. The killings began on a large-scale last Friday and appear to have continued, despite denials from Damascus.

For example, well-known Mideast regional correspondent said Tuesday – at a time when many thought the killings were over – “I just got an urgent message from somebody in Baniyas, Syria telling me that gunmen are RIGHT NOW spotted in the small Alawite village of Al Sin, close to Huraysun & 10 km north of Baniyas. Gunmen roaming through the village. Civilians terrified, hiding in houses & nearby fields.”

Tens of thousands of persecuted Syrian civilians are currently seeking the safety of both northern Lebanon and Russia’s Kmeimim Air Base, as we documented earlier. In some cases, troops from Jolani’s ruling Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) as well as foreign fighters are approaching the gates of the base as they hunt down Alawites and non-Sunni ‘heretics’.

One of the most brazen terror attacks and hostage standoffs the world has ever seen played out on Tuesday into Wednesday. The shocking incident in Pakistan’s restive southwestern region involved a separatist Islamist group attacking and taking control of a large passenger train.

Some 450 passengers were travelling on the train from Quetta to Peshawar when it was attacked Tuesday by militants of the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). The group took a number of hostages after halting the train. Many bystanders are still missing.

Pakistani special forces were among the first to respond to the scene, also amid helicopter cover overhead, and a shootout ensued. But it ended in tragedy. While at least 35 militants were killed, some 100 civilians were reportedly executed by the terrorists.

New Jersey gubernatorial candidate and Newark mayor Ras Baraka (D.) spoke Tuesday at an anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement rally that featured the Council on American-Islamic Relations New Jersey (CAIR NJ), an anti-Semitic group that justified the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

Rallygoers gathered outside Delaney Hall, the Trump administration’s newly commissioned illegal immigrant detention facility in Newark, to protest its June opening. Several far-left groups participated, including the New Jersey Working Families Party, Make the Road New Jersey, and CAIR NJ, which has characterized Hamas’s attack as a prison break, calling it “inevitable” and “not unexpected.”

Last week, President Donald Trump began keeping yet another of his promises—this time, to deport foreign nationals who support terrorism.

On Wednesday, the U.S. State Department “revoked the first visa of an alien who was previously cited for criminal behavior in connection with Hamas-supporting disruptions,” a department official told Fox News. “This individual was a university student. ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] will proceed with removing this person from the country.”

As we’ve explained previously, federal law allows both the denial of admission to, and the deportation of, foreign nationals who support terrorism. Under the Immigration and Nationality Act, “Any alien—who endorses or espouses terrorist activity or persuades others to endorse or espouse terrorist activity or support a terrorist organization … is inadmissible.”

If a student visa applicant is known to “endorse or espouse” terrorism, the consular officer interviewing him at a U.S. Embassy or consulate overseas should deny him a visa.

But what if a foreign student already obtained a visa, and it later comes to light that he espoused or endorsed terrorism? For example, in the case of a foreign student on a college campus protesting in favor of Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack in Israel. In that case, the State Department can revoke his visa. That means that the Department of Homeland Security can then pursue his removal because, under the Immigration and Nationality Act, he would be deportable for the same reasons the visa was canceled. It also means he can’t return to the U.S. without getting a new visa, which would be very hard, given the revocation on file.

A new wave of refugees are fleeing Syria amid several days of sectarian-driven killings mainly targeting Alawites, and in some cases Christians, along the coastal areas in Tartus and Latakia governates.

Fresh reports say that over 10,000 Syrians have entered the Lebanese region of Akkar as nearly 20 villages have opened up to the displaced. More are said to be headed further south to the large Lebanese city of Tripoli.

Last May, Columbia student activist Mahmoud Khalil said his status as a foreign national made him “nervous” to participate in the encampment that roiled campus.

“Since the beginning, I decided to stay out of the public eye and away from media attention or high-risk activities,” he told Al Jazeera. He apparently did not consider blabbing to Qatar’s media mouthpiece either media attention or a high-risk activity. Oops.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio revoked Khalil’s visa—he is a Syrian national, according to ICE—and sent immigration enforcement officials to detain him. When Khalil’s attorney said Khalil had received a green card, one of the officials told the attorney the State Department had revoked that as well. A senior State Department official told us Rubio pulled both the visa and green card.

The arrest, which came to light on Sunday, is the first high-profile action under Rubio’s “Catch and Revoke” effort targeting foreign Hamasniks causing trouble on college campuses. Khalil became one of the Columbia encampment’s public faces last spring when he led negotiations with administrators and demanded they divest from Israel. Columbia suspended him shortly thereafter before dropping the disciplinary charges. Khalil pledged to secure Israeli divestment by “any available means necessary” and participated in Wednesday’s occupation of the Barnard library.

The al-Qaeda-affiliated Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) forces who took over Damascus in December killed hundreds of Syrian civilians over the last two days, targeting Alawites and Christians.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on March 7 that 240 people had been killed in two days of violence in the coastal region of western Syria, which is heavily populated by members of the Alawite minority. The victims massacred include many children and women.

Christians are also increasingly affected by the ongoing violence. In the city of Latakia, HTS terrorists murdered a Christian, Tony Khoury, in his home on March 7. He was originally from the Maronite village of Dahr Safra, according to social media posts. On the same day, jihadist regime terrorists also murdered Greek Christians Tony Boutros and his son, Fadi Boutros.

What do Tommy Robinson, LBC Radio, the Conservative Party and Sadiq Khan have in common?

The answer is that they have all been shortlisted for Islamophobe of the Year awards by the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC), a British campaign and advocacy group with close links to the Iranian government.

It all sounds like a bit of a joke. The “Commission” used to promote the Awards in a semi-comedic style: as an irreverent swipe at those who have shown hatred to Muslims in public life. But there was always a bad smell about all this: having a laugh, about hatred. The apparently light-hearted format enabled fierce denunciations of others for the same reasons that are getting people killed. In 2015, the IHRC gave another of its Islamophobia Awards to the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo — just two months after jihadis slaughtered 12 people at the magazine’s offices in Paris.

The origins of this unsavouriness are no secret. In his 2023 review of the Prevent anti-extremism programme, William Shawcross described the organisation as “an Islamist group ideologically aligned with the Iranian regime”, with a history of “extremist links and terrorist sympathies”. Until recently, the IHRC’s director was Saied Reza Ameli, also secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution.

Nevertheless, thanks to its campaigning on Islamophobia, the IHRC has had a notable influence on British public life. And Islamophobia is now a pressing concern of the British state and Labour government.

“Islamophobia” depends on the modern understanding of “phobias” as irrational fear — and ignores the historical fact that fear of Islam is totally rational, as demonstrated over the past 1400 years.

On Feb 14, 2025, Muslim terrorists kidnapped 70 Christians in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, took them to a church, tied them up and beheaded them. Their bodies were left there to rot by the Muslim killers who did it to show the supremacy of Islam over Christianity.

Pope Francis made no mention of this bloody massacre of Christians in a church, instead in a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, he spoke about “the serious humanitarian emergency in Gaza.”

Yale Law School’s Law and Political Economy Project, an initiative funded by the left-wing William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, quietly deleted online references to its deputy director, Helyeh Doutaghi, who is also a member of the U.S.-sanctioned terrorist fundraising entity Samidoun.

The entirety of the Yale Law School webpage for the project was inaccessible just before noon on Thursday. It came back online a few hours later with an updated “Directors and Staff” section that no longer includes Doutaghi. The Samidoun member’s Yale Law School biography, which describes Doutaghi’s research on “Marxian and postcolonial critiques of law, sanctions, and international political economy,” has also been pulled from the web.

Israeli hostages about how the terror group “was in contact and actively coordinating” with anti-Israel protesters at American colleges, according to eyewitness accounts detailed in a landmark terrorism lawsuit.

Abdallah Aljamal, a Gaza-based “journalist,” was killed last year during an Israeli raid that freed three hostages from his home: Almog Meir Jan, Shlomi Ziv, and Andrey Kozlov. They are now suing Aljamal’s former collaborator, a little-known publication called the Palestine Chronicle. The website is operated by a nonprofit group in Washington state, the People Media Project, thus giving it tax-exempt status.

The lawsuit provides the hostages’ firsthand account of their time spent in captivity, where they witnessed Aljamal file dispatches for the Palestine Chronicle and brag about Hamas’s ability to orchestrate violent campus protests across America. It is one of several lawsuits stemming from Hamas’s Oct. 7 terror attack. The case is scheduled for trial early next year, according to lawyers working on the lawsuit.

The United States has charged Mohammad Sharifullah with helping to plan an attack that killed 13 U.S. service members during the withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, the U.S. Department of Justice said, adding that a hearing is scheduled at a federal court in Virginia later on Wednesday.

A research scholar at Yale Law School also moonlights as a member of a U.S.-sanctioned terrorist fundraising entity, according to web postings reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.

Those postings reveal that Helyeh Doutaghi, the deputy director of Yale Law School’s Law and Political Economy Project, is a member of Samidoun, an organization sanctioned by the U.S. government in October in an announcement that described it as a “sham charity” and a “front organization” for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a foreign-designated terrorist organization.

Samidoun’s website indicates that Doutaghi, whom it describes as “a doctoral student of international law and a member of the international Samidoun Network,” delivered a speech in Iran at a Samidoun-sponsored screening of the film Fedayin: Georges Abdallah’s Fight. Abdallah, the founder of the Lebanese Armed Military Forces, was sentenced by a French court to life in prison in 1987, convicted of complicity in the 1982 murders of U.S. military attaché Charles Ray and Israeli diplomat Yacov Barsimantov, as well as involvement in the attempted 1984 assassination of the then-American consul general in Strasbourg, Robert Homme.

A man in his 60s was killed and four other people were wounded in a stabbing attack Monday in the northern Israeli city of Haifa, police said. Israeli authorities said the assailant was killed.

Police said they were treating the stabbing, which took place in a central transit hub, as a militant attack. A security guard and a civilian killed the attacker, who police said was an Arab citizen of Israel who had recently returned to Israel after some time abroad.

The attack took place as regional tensions are high surrounding the fate of the ceasefire in Gaza. The terrorist group Hamas praised the attack but stopped short of claiming responsibility for it.

The problem with allowing Muslims into your country is that you never know when one of them will ‘become radicalized’ and start shooting or stabbing or running over random non-Muslim people.

In the spring of 2021 a young Pakistani woman named Saman Abbas disappeared from the Italian town of Novellara in Italy. The assumption was that she had been “honor-killed” by her parents and male relatives. It wasn’t until months later that her body was found.

Saman’s father and mother fled to Pakistan. Her uncle and two cousins were arrested in various European countries. At first her uncle Danish was identified as the likely killer, but he fingered her mother as the perpetrator.

Saman’s parents were tried and convicted — the mother in absentia, since she was still in Pakistan, although the father had been extradited — and sentenced to life in prison.

Saman’s mother was extradited to Italy last summer. The article below concerns her recent appearance in court for an appeal proceeding.

Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas fired his prisoners’ affairs commissioner this week, seemingly demonstrating new seriousness about reforming the system of payments for terrorists that the commissioner oversaw and vocally defended.

But Abbas simultaneously replaced the former commissioner, Qadura Fares, with another convicted terrorist and leading proponent of the payments, Raed Abu al-Humus. The incoming boss quickly confirmed his support for killing Israelis.

There was an “Allahu Akhbar” moment today in the French city of Mulhouse during a demonstration in support of the Congo, where an Algerian mujahid went on a stabbing rampage, killing one person and wounding several others. The deceased victim is reportedly a visitor from Portugal.

Two police officers were also seriously injured in the suspected Islamist terrorist act, which took place in the city of Mulhouse during a demonstration in support of the Congo on Saturday afternoon. Three other police officers were lightly wounded.

The French president, Emmanuel Macron, said the knife attack was “without any doubt an act of Islamist terrorism”. The suspected attacker, an Algerian male who has been arrested, is on a terror prevention watchlist, according to the anti-terrorism prosecution office (PNAT).

He has been under judicial supervision and house arrest, and was under an expulsion order from France, according to union sources.

For almost twenty years I’ve been reporting on the culture-enriching criminality of “New Swedes” in Modern Multicultural Sweden. One of the features of my early investigations was the organized violence directed at first responders — firemen and EMTs. I remember one incident, possibly in Malmö or Gothenburg, in which mischievous “youths” deliberately set a fire and then hid on a rooftop, waiting for the fire trucks to arrive. When the first firemen passed beneath their perch, the youngsters dropped rocks on them.

The situation deteriorated to the point where emergency personnel refused to enter certain “sensitive areas” without a police escort. One such incident in the Rosengård district of Malmö was described in this translated report posted in July of 2010.

Kibbutz Nir Oz said early Saturday morning that resident Shiri Bibas was murdered while held captive in Gaza, after Hamas handed over her body overnight and it was brought to Israel for identification.

“With pain and deep sorrow, Kibbutz Nir Oz announces the murder of Shiri Bibas, may her memory be a blessing, who was kidnapped from her home,” said a statement from the community, which was one of most devastated by the Hamas-led terror onslaught on October 7, 2023.

“Today, after 16 unbearable months, this painful circle has finally been closed for the family and in the coming days she will return, together with her two small sons, to eternal rest in the soil of Israel,” added the Nir Oz statement.

According to assessments by Israeli officials issued after the body had been identified, Shiri was “brutally” murdered along with her two boys, Ariel, 4, and baby Kfir, nine months, in November 2023.

The celebration and mocking of the bodies of murdered children was not the work of some fringe group. Hamas took care to have every Islamic terrorist organization taking part in claiming victory, including the PLO’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades representing the ‘Palestinian Authority’ and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (Omar al-Qassim Brigades) popular on college campuses, as well as the Al-Ansar Brigades which has links to Al Qaeda.

There is no ‘Palestinian’ group that was not there to take its share of credit for the dead children.

the bodies of Ariel and Kfir Bibas have been identified after their remains were given to Israel by Hamas on Thursday.

However, the third body at the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute was not that of their mother, Shiri Bibas, says the Israel Defense Forces. Specialists at Abu Kabir were not able to identify the body.

The authorities, using forensic evidence and intelligence, assess that the two young boys were ‘”brutally murdered” by terrorists in November 2023, says the IDF. Ariel was 4-years-old and Kfir was 10-months-old when they were murdered.

On Thursday night Israel’s Transportation Authority halted all public transport including the operation of all buses, trains, and light rails, following an attempted terror attack in the Tel Aviv suburbs of Bat Yam and Holon.

Three empty buses exploded had exploded in quick succession in parking lots in these areas, and police believe the detonations were actually intended to happen in the morning, when the buses are usually packed.

Austria is facing “high-risk threats” of Islamist terrorism, according to the head of the Central European country’s domestic intelligence agency, who spoke after yet another terrorist attack, this time targeting a railway station, was thwarted.

Austrian authorities announced on Wednesday, February 19th, that they had arrested a 14-year-old boy with Turkish roots last week. He was planning to carry out an attack on one of Vienna’s largest train stations, the Westbahnhof.

The boy had been radicalised on the internet and had shared posts and videos with Islamic extremist content—including an excerpt from the 2015 Islamist terrorist attack on the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo—on several TikTok profiles.

During a search of his home in Vienna, investigators found numerous Islamist extremist books as well as sketches of attacks with knives and machetes at a station and against police officers, and drawings of fighters with the Islamic State (ISIS) flag. They also found handwritten instructions for making explosive material to serve as a detonator for a bomb.

In their most shocking propaganda display to date, Hamas terrorists paraded the coffins of two dead children, their mother, and an 83-year-old man through the streets of Gaza before throngs of cheering Palestinians.

The macabre scene unfolded on Thursday morning as Hamas returned the bodies of four Israeli captives who were held for more than 500 days: Shiri Bibas, 32; her two children, 4-year-old Ariel and 9-month-old Kfir; and 83-year-old Oded Lifshitz. The caskets bore smiling pictures of those killed alongside messages listing their “date of arrest” as Oct. 7, 2023.

Hamas displayed the caskets on a makeshift stage in front of an anti-Semitic sign depicting Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a bloodthirsty vampire snarling above a photo of the murdered captives. The sign included the caption, “The War Criminal Netanyahu & His Nazi Army Killed Them with Missiles from Zionist Warplanes.” There is no evidence to date that supports the claim.

Over the past decade, Germany has experienced a series of Islamist attacks that have exposed the deficiencies of both the country’s and the European Union’s immigration policies, at a high human cost. According to reports from the Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV), the number of individuals classified as dangerous Islamists has increased drastically, rising from 550 in 2015 to over 2,000 in 2025, representing an almost fourfold increase in just ten years.

This sharp growth has led to a tightening of security policies, with increased surveillance and preventive detentions of terrorism suspects. However, some of these measures have sparked criticism, as they have involved restrictions on individual freedoms, including home raids for social media posts deemed “offensive,” a trend that has also been observed in the United Kingdom, especially for non-Islamists posting.

Between 2015 and 2025, Germany has been the scene of numerous Islamist attacks. According to reports from the BfV and the Bundeskriminalamt (BKA), these follow a recurring pattern: radicalized individuals, mostly linked to ISIS, targeting public and symbolic places to inflict the highest number of casualties. The deadliest attack occurred at the Berlin Christmas market in 2016, with 12 fatalities. That same year, the country suffered three attacks in total, making it the most violent year of the decade.

The methods used by attackers included knives, vehicles, and explosives to maximize impact. Authorities dismantled cells and foiled attacks in 2017, 2022, and 2023. In 2017, an ISIS sympathizer was arrested in Berlin before he could detonate explosives in Alexanderplatz. In 2022, police prevented an attack planned against a Christmas market in Essen, arresting the suspects before they could act. In 2023, an intelligence operation successfully thwarted an attack on a synagogue in Düsseldorf, leading to the arrest of those responsible.

The targeted protest against Jews in Brooklyn was organized by the anti-Israel radical group Pal-Awda. On Monday afternoon, the group announced on X that it was targeting the orthodox Jewish community to protest “settlements” in Israel, and called for a “complete end” to the Jewish state of Israel. It should be noted that they were targeting New Yorkers who live in New York in order to make their point.

When Hamas gunmen paraded emaciated Israeli hostages across a stage in Gaza earlier this month, they were flanked by two representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an aid group that boasts of its neutrality. The agency’s participation in the choreographed propaganda display—as well as its failure to visit the hostages as they struggled in captivity—is now drawing scrutiny on Capitol Hill, with GOP lawmakers questioning the Red Cross’s objectivity and care for those still held in captivity.

The most shocking scene to date unfolded two weekends ago, when Hamas militants forced three severely malnourished Israeli captives—Ohad Ben Ami, 56; Eli Sharabi, 52; and Or Levy, 34—to make a speech to a crowd of Gazans before their release. Standing beside the masked gunmen were two Red Cross officials identified by the Washington Free Beacon as Nour Khadam and Stephanie Eller, both of whom have been featured in the ICRC’s online materials.

Footage from the hostage release shows Khadam shaking hands with a Hamas militant as Eller stands behind him, and a masked Hamas soldier snaps photographs. Like other Red Cross officials present at these stage-managed events—reportedly produced by an Al Jazeera journalist—Eller and Khadam signed documents and stood on hand while the terror group forced the hostages to thank their captors. Photos taken on the day show the Israelis holding certificates provided by Hamas as they are interviewed next to gun-touting militants.

It was the most brutal attack on a trade union event in the history of post-war Germany. Last Thursday, just days before the general election, a man drove a car into a group of striking members of the service workers’ union Verdi in Munich. The attack has so far claimed the lives of a mother and her two-year-old daughter, and injured at least 30 others.

The suspect is a 24-year-old Afghan national who arrived in Germany eight years ago as an unaccompanied minor and was subsequently granted residence status. According to police reports, he had previously shared Islamist content on social media. Upon his arrest, he shouted “Allahu akbar”, leading authorities to classify the incident as “most likely” Islamist-motivated.

Anger is surely the right response to such a barbaric attack on workers and their families who were exercising their democratic right to campaign for better working conditions. Yet, almost immediately after the incident made headlines, the Verdi leadership issued a statement condemning any “misplaced passion” that might arise from the act: “We stand for solidarity and togetherness. In its darkest hour, ver.di defends itself against the attack on ver.di colleagues during a token strike in Munich being used for division, hatred and incitement,” the statement said. A statement by Frank Werneke, the ver.di leader, which carefully avoided any mention of the word ‘Islamism’, was similarly muddled.

‘Squad’ congresswoman Ilhan Omar told friends years ago that the man who went on to become her second husband was in fact her brother, DailyMail.com can confirm.

And now for the first time one of those friends has come forward to reveal exactly how Omar and Ahmed Elmi scandalized the Somali community in Minneapolis.

Abdihakim Osman is the first person to go on record to speak of how Omar said she wanted to get her brother papers so he could stay in the United States, at a time when she was married to her first husband Ahmed Hirsi.

But hardly anyone realized that meant marrying him.

‘No one knew there had been a wedding until the media turned up the marriage certificate years later,’ Osman, 40, exclusively told DailyMail.com.

Osman’s revelations are sure to renew calls for an investigation into the Minnesota freshman representative who has repeatedly refused to answer questions on her marriage to Elmi.

She originally said the idea that the spouses were also siblings were ‘baseless, absurd rumors’, accusing journalists of Islamophobia, but has since stayed quiet.

The suspect in the car-ramming attack in Munich that left more than 30 people injured appears to have had an Islamic extremist motive, but there’s no evidence that he was involved with any radical network, authorities said Friday.

The 24-year-old Afghan, who arrived in Germany as an asylum-seeker in 2016 and lived in Munich, was arrested after driving his Mini Cooper into the back of a labor union demonstration in the Bavarian city on Thursday. Police officers pulled him out of the car after firing a shot at the vehicle, which didn’t hit him, and arrested him.

Prosecutor Gabriele Tilmann said that the suspect said “Allahu Akbar,” or “God is great,” to police and then prayed after his arrest — which prompted a department that investigates extremism and terror to take on the case immediately.

The University of California, Los Angeles, is temporarily suspending its Students for Justice in Palestine and Graduate Students for Justice in Palestine chapters after members harassed Hollywood talent agent and regent Jay Sures and his family while vandalizing his home.

Some 50 masked protesters pounded drums and blocked Sures’s street and driveway in the early morning of Feb. 5, with police responding at 6:15 a.m., according to the SJP groups’ social media posts and police reports. The protesters imprinted red handprints on the outside walls of Sures’s house and plastered fliers on his garage door, Deadline Hollywood reported.

While announcing the chapters’ suspension, UCLA chancellor Julio Frenk said the protesters even surrounded the vehicle of one family member. They also held a sign that read, “Jonathan Sures you will pay, until you see your final day.”

An Afghan asylum-seeker drove a car into a labor union demonstration in central Munich on Thursday, injuring at least 28 people including children, authorities said. Officials said it was believed to be an attack.

The suspect, an Afghan asylum-seeker, was arrested. The incident follows a series of attacks involving immigrants in recent months that have pushed migration to the forefront of the campaign for Germany’s Feb. 23 election.

Participants in a demonstration by the service workers’ union ver.di were walking along a street at about 10:30 a.m. when the car overtook a police vehicle following the gathering, accelerated and plowed into the back of the group, police said.
