A small Swiss village of 600 inhabitants is demanding the closure of its asylum centre after one of the migrants, a 23-year-old Egyptian man, set fire to a popular forest hut and later broke into a house.

The centre was opened about an hour’s walk from the village, Les Verrières, because it had been hoped that the rural environment would provide less of an opportunity for the mostly young men to endanger public safety and order.

However, six years after it opened its doors to asylum seekers, the village has had to endure drunken men roaming the streets, break-ins into cars and houses, and harassment.

The municipality has written an official letter to the federal government, stating its desire to close the centre.

As Swiss daily Tages-Anzeiger puts it, the case of Les Verrières shows that even a very small number of uncooperative people can cause havoc.

A high-security Israeli Independence Day celebration inside the British Museum was confronted by a ‘pro-Palestine’ protest outside, on Tuesday, May 13th.

Hosted by Israeli ambassador and target of the Left, Tzipi Hotovely, the event marked Israel’s 77th year and commemorated the heroism of Aner Shapira, the 22-year-old who was murdered with an RPG while fighting off, with a broken bottle, some of the Nova music festival’s attackers.

Outside the building, protestors chanted “Zionists out,” which to many ears sounds like “Jews out.” A plucky counter-demonstration initiated by Our Fight UK responded with “Zionists In!” placards.
The soft-touch approach of the London Metropolitan Police was criticised online, again, as some ‘pro-Palestine’ demonstrators appeared to be getting away with incitement to violence.

It appears there is no act of terror serious enough to convince Brussels officials that Israel’s aim of destroying Hamas is correct.

Since his release on Monday, it has emerged that American-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander was held in a cage and repeatedly tortured by Hamas terrorists.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldier told officials that he was shackled by his hands and feet for long periods and was kept mostly in a tunnel with no light. Alexander was also reportedly given only starvation rations, other than in the last few weeks when Hamas will have been mindful of his condition in the international public eye.

A country where electricity is vastly cheaper than America isn’t looking to lower power costs.

Iran joins Libya, Kuwait, Iraq, Oman, Qatar and other oil-rich countries as having some of the cheapest electricity prices in the world. Countries with vast energy reserves and production don’t need nuclear energy the way that Germany or France, which depend on imports, do.

Saudi Arabia, with $0.053 electricity, did not begin pursuing a nuclear program because it needed to lower its energy costs. Neither did the UAE. The Saudis and Emiratis became interested in developing a “civilian” nuclear program only as Iran’s nuclear program took off.

If Iran were developing a nuclear program to lower energy costs, it would have long ago dropped the program after sanctions cost its economy an estimated $1 trillion. Losing $1 trillion to shave a few more fractions of a cent off the average cost of a kilowatt makes no sense.

Iran is not interested in peaceful applications of nuclear energy, but in nuclear weapons. That’s why it’s been willing to lose $1 trillion and go to war to protect its nuclear program.

“The Taliban government in Afghanistan has banned chess until further notice due to fears the game is a source of gambling,” BBC reports Monday. “Officials said the game has been prohibited indefinitely until its compatibility with Islamic law can be determined.”

“There are religious considerations regarding the sport of chess,” Atal Mashwani, the spokesman of the Taliban government’s sports directorate, told AFP news agency. “Until these considerations are addressed, the sport of chess is suspended in Afghanistan.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott wrote on X that his team has halted construction of a planned mixed-use development connected with East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC), one of North Texas’ largest mosques.

The 402-acre site is being transformed into a community for Muslims that includes 1,000 homes, a K-12 faith-based school, a mega mosque, elderly and assisted living, apartments, clinics, retail shops, a community college, and sports fields. It is located just 30 miles northeast of downtown Dallas.

“We’re going to demonstrate to the world what it means to be a Muslim in the West,” one of the heads of EPIC City said in a promotional video.

A Catholic priest in southern France was surrounded, insulted, and threatened by a mob of young men shouting “Allahu Akbar” after evening Mass on Saturday, in what he has condemned as a brazen act of anti-Christian intimidation.

The attack took place on the evening of Saturday, May 10th, in Montfavet, near Avignon in Provence. The priest was ambushed. Early in the evening, after celebrating Mass, he was approached by a young man who told him of his desire to convert to Christianity. Behind him stood around ten teenagers or young adults, asking if they could enter the church. “Some claimed to be Muslims and said they just wanted to visit,” said the victim, Father Laurent Milan.

Once inside the building, the young men, some of whom were likely minors, showered the priest with insults and shouted “Allah Akhbar,” before threatening to set fire to his church and then fleeing. The local press (La Provence) reported that there were around ten young men aged between 15 and 20. Valeurs actuelles noted that some of them were hooded.

The victim filed a complaint, and the next day, police were deployed to secure the Sunday Mass.

In a stark warning about the effects of migration on Western Europe, it has been revealed that Mohammed was the most popular name given to newborn baby boys in three German states last year.

The name, typically given to Muslim boys, was the most popular choice for parents in the states of Berlin, Bremen, and Hamburg. In Hesse, it reached second place, and in North Rhine-Westphalia, it came third.

With regards to the whole of Germany, Mohammed—and its differently spelled variants—moved up from 15th place in 2023 to 11th in 2024.

Now we learn, however, that as a result of India’s retaliation against Pakistani terrorists who murdered civilian tourists in Kashmir, the killer of Daniel Pearl has been, as they say, neutralized. Here’s the story:

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), India’s governing party, said that the Indian army killed Pakistani terrorist Abdul Rauf Azhar in “Operation Sindhoor.”

A group of Islamist terrorists, including Azhar, kidnapped and murdered Pearl in 2002. The terrorist was affiliated with al-Qaeda and Jaish-e-Mohammed, an Islamist terror group that aims to separate Kashmir from India and fully incorporate it into Pakistan. …

In the BJP announcement, the party said that Azhar was involved in a number of terror activities, including the 1999 hijacking of an Indian Airlines flight, the 2016 Pathankot Air Force base attack, and a 2001 terror attack on the Indian parliament.

Azhar’s involvement in the 1999 hijacking freed Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, a British-born al-Qaeda member who formerly served in Pakistan’s intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Azhar wasn’t targeted because he killed Pearl. He was targeted because of his terrorism against India. But as you can see, it’s all connected. And I wonder whether India got some help from Israeli intelligence.

The Indians have centuries of dealing with Muslim expansionism, and know deep in their bones the kind of existential threat Islam poses to any non-Muslim civilization.

A few decades ago, no one would have believed that a Western European country would have to resort to legislation to ban virginity tests in order to protect the lives of women and girls, yet here we are.

The Swedish government is now preparing to criminalize the practice, which currently only carries the risk of professional disciplinary action if discovered.

According to the proposal, medical professionals who partake in “virginity control” and issue “virginity certificates”—based on the observation of the hymen—or carry out surgical procedures aimed at restoring the hymen will be subjected to criminal charges.

“These proposals aim to make these acts punishable and to allow their perpetrators to be convicted, which is not the case at the moment,” Socialstyrelsen, the Swedish government agency in charge of social services, explained. The new legislation is expected to come into force by December 2025 at the latest.

The World Health Organization (WHO) regards the concept of virginity tests as unscientific and a violation of women’s sexual integrity, and called for it to be banned globally back in 2018. According to UN Women, the practice violates human rights and jeopardizes the sexual and reproductive health of young women.

Union officials promoted an “anti-Semitic toxic environment” at a New York legal aid organization where employees adorned the office with posters defending Hamas terrorism and calling for “intifada,” according to a federal anti-discrimination complaint filed on Wednesday.

Jewish union members of A Better NYLAG (ABN)—the employee union of the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG)—said the guild has forced them to work next to cubicles plastered with signs supporting the destruction of Israel and terrorist violence.

Slogans mentioned in the complaint include “ABOLISH THE SETTLER STATE,” “LONG LIVE THE RESISTANCE!,” and “INTIFADA NOW.”

A damning new report by StandWithUs UK has revealed a surge in antisemitic harassment and hostility towards Jewish and pro-Israel students across British universities in the wake of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks.

Drawing from over 1,000 testimonies and a nationwide survey, the “Voice of Students 2025” report paints a troubling picture of intimidation, institutional inaction, and a climate of fear permeating campus life.

Key findings include that 64% of surveyed students could not unequivocally call the Hamas attacks terrorism, while 38% believed students who publicly support Israel should “expect” abuse. Students reported being subjected to verbal abuse, threats, and exclusion, with some forced to hide religious symbols or refrain from speaking Hebrew on campus out of fear.

The report accuses universities of failing to uphold their duty of care, citing dismissive responses to complaints and a normalization of anti-Zionist rhetoric as a cover for antisemitism. It calls for urgent reforms, including recognizing anti-Zionism as antisemitism under the IHRA definition and establishing accountability measures.

“This isn’t just about Jewish students,” the report warns, “but about the erosion of safety and free expression for all.”

A Palestinian activist at Columbia University spooked neighbors in his small Vermont town by bragging about his hatred of Jews and his background of building weapons for terrorist groups, according to interviews and 2015 police records obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Mohsen Mahdawi, who had recently moved to Windsor, Vt., from the West Bank, told multiple people in town that he had previously worked in a Palestinian refugee camp building guns for terrorists.

“He said his job in the refugee camp was to make weapons,” a source familiar with Mahdawi said. “He bragged about friends and family wanting to kill Israelis.”

Police arrested 31 protesters for taking over and vandalizing the Boeing-funded Interdisciplinary Engineering Building, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office told KOMO News on Tuesday. The protesters, who also set several nearby dumpsters on fire, demanded that the university sever ties with Boeing for supplying weapons used in Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists.

The protest comes as the Trump administration cracks down on anti-Semitic activity that has swept college campuses following Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack on Israel.

The organization behind the Monday protest, Students United for Palestinian Equality & Return, is a “suspended student group,” university spokesman Victor Balta told CNN. The group has published a manifesto overtly praising Hamas’s October 7 attack and also helped organize an anti-Semitic protest on campus in February.

Hatred surrounding the conflict in the Middle East continues to spill over into the West, most recently forcing Jonny Greenwood from the British band Radiohead to cancel two UK shows with Israeli musician Dudu Tassa because of threats received by the venues.

The musical duo said in a statement on social media that “enough credible threats” had been sent to the venues and their staff “to conclude that it’s not safe to proceed.” They criticised activists for “censorship” and “silencing” and—as with attempts to ban Israel from participating in the Eurovision Song Contest—stressed the futility of the action.

British counter-terror police arrested five men, including four Iranian nationals, on Saturday, fearing that an attack on a “specific premises” was imminent. Speculation has since mounted—including within the establishment press—that the target may have been a synagogue or another specifically Jewish establishment.

Three other Iranian nationals were later arrested as part of a separate operation, with counter-terror police reportedly fearing that these men would attempt to either leave the UK or destroy evidence following the earlier arrests.

One of the suspected terrorists accused of plotting an attack is also claimed to be “very well-connected” to the Hamas-backing regime in Tehran.

Responding to reports, Britain’s Campaign Against Antisemitism charity criticised the Labour government for doing “nothing to proscribe Iran’s [Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps] IRGC, which sponsors terrorism around the world and is known to be active in the UK.”

Last week, Syrian Sunni jihadists attacked Druse communities in Jaramana and Ashrafiyat Sahnaya, suburbs of the Syrian capital of Damascus. Meanwhile, the Houthi rebels who control northern Yemen delivered a resounding blow against Israel on Sunday, when one of their ballistic missiles penetrated Israeli defences and landed next to Israel’s main international airport, briefly halting almost all international flights to and from the Jewish state, except those operated by Israeli airlines. Israel retaliated with a twenty-plane strike against Houthi economic installations. Further strikes are likely—and, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has hinted, these may also target Iran, the Houthis’ political and military patron. Meanwhile, Israel’s cabinet has authorised the immediate call-up of tens of thousands of IDF reservists in preparation for an “expansion” of the country’s war-making against Hamas, which has been more or less stalemated for months.

Three former hostages sued the Washington-based Palestine Chronicle last year, alleging that the media organization knowingly paid their Hamas-operative captor, Abdallah Aljamal, who simultaneously worked as a Gaza correspondent for the nonprofit news site.

Hamas kidnapped Almog Meir Jan, Shlomi Ziv, and Andrey Kozlov during its attack on the Nova Music Festival on October 7, 2023. The Israel Defense Forces ultimately rescued them from Aljamal’s home eight months later.

Palestine Chronicle leadership has claimed there is no evidence its staff was aware of Aljamal’s involvement in the kidnapping and argued that its payments to the Hamas operative had no impact on the hostages.

But Judge Tiffany M. Cartwright said the news outlet’s arguments were “unpersuasive,” and ruled that the plaintiffs’ case is strong enough to move to the trial and discovery process.

India fired missiles into Pakistani-controlled territory in several locations early Wednesday, killing at least 26 people including a child, in what Pakistan’s leader called an act of war.

India said it struck infrastructure used by militants linked to last month’s massacre of tourists in the Indian-controlled portion of Kashmir.

Pakistan claimed it shot down several Indian fighter jets in retaliation as two planes fell onto villages in India-controlled Kashmir. At least seven civilians were also killed in the region by Pakistani shelling, Indian police and medics said.

Tensions have soared between the nuclear-armed neighbors since the attack, which India has blamed Pakistan for backing. Islamabad has denied the accusation.

Notice that if you swapped ‘India’ and ‘Pakistan’ in the story, it makes no sense. That’s because there are no ‘Hindu militants’ staging terrorist attacks in Pakistan. And that, in turn, says something about the difference between India and Pakistan. What might that difference be? Well, think about it; I’m sure you can figure it out.

Israel “completely destroyed” Yemen’s Sanaa International Airport on Tuesday, delivering a crippling blow to the Iran-backed Houthis who had used the facility to transport weapons and terrorist fighters across the Middle East.

Shortly after the strike, President Donald Trump announced that U.S. military operations against the Houthis will cease after the terror group purportedly agreed to stop their attacks on international shipping lanes and American assets.

Israel’s surprise operation—the largest to date against the Houthis—came in response to a series of missile and drone strikes on the Jewish state, including a Sunday salvo that struck the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, wounding several people. In response, Israel “completely disabled” the Sanaa airport and destroyed a slew of nearby power stations the Houthis were using to build out their military infrastructure. Photos posted earlier on Tuesday showed plumes of thick smoke rising from the airport and nearby areas.

Pakistan-born Ayesha Khan, known for her far-left militancy and openly hostile statements towards Germany and its people, has been naturalized as a German citizen in an official ceremony held at St. Paul’s Church in Frankfurt. Khan, 27, obtained citizenship alongside around 800 other people in a process that has sparked intense public debate.

Khan, who arrived in Germany in 2016, has used the social media platform X under the pseudonym Migrantifa, from which she spreads provocative messages and co-hosts the podcast “[un]deutsch” with Dîlan Karacadag. The show addresses social and political issues from a migrant perspective, often challenging the foundations of traditional German identity.

Khan has drawn attention for a series of posts considered openly anti-German. Among them are messages such as: “You know those people who say ‘if God exists, why is there war?’ I ask: if God exists, why do Germans exist?”, “Fortunately, Frankfurt will soon be completely de-Germanized,” and “Almans [Turkish slang for Germans] are trash.”

Court documents claim that a leader of pro-Palestine protests at Columbia University once told a gun shop owner he had built guns to “kill Jews.”

Immigration officials arrested Mohsen Mahdawi in April as the Trump administration continues to crackdown on antisemitism and terrorist sympathizers who can be seen as a threat to U.S. national security.

On Tuesday, Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, shared a photo of court filings that claim in 2015, Mahdawi spoke with a gun shop owner in Vermont and offered to work at the shop without monetary compensation.

“According to the report,” the court filing reads, “petitioner ‘supposedly told’ the gun shop owner ‘that he had considerable firearm experience and used to build modified 9mm submachine guns to kill Jews while he was in Palestine.’”

Pro-Palestinian protesters disrupted the National Liberation Day ceremony in the Dutch city of Wageningen on Sunday, May 4th, interrupting a speech by Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans. According to police, five people were arrested after breaching security barriers during the incident.

The protesters disrupted the annual event—held to commemorate the end of Nazi occupation in the Netherlands in 1945—by chanting “Free Palestine” and other pro-Palestinian slogans as the minister addressed the crowd.

The Liberation Day event in Wageningen is a significant moment in the Dutch national calendar, marking the restoration of freedom in 1945 and honoring those who fought for it.

British police have arrested eight men as part of two separate counterterrorism investigations.

Five men, four of whom are Iranian nationals, were arrested in London, Swindon and Greater Manchester on Saturday as part of an investigation into a plot to “target specific premises,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement early Sunday.

The site targeted by the plot, which was not named for “operational reasons,” has been made aware and is being supported by police, the Met added.

A ship transiting the Mediterranean Sea carrying aid intended for Gaza was attacked by what organizers of the humanitarian vessel called a drone attack.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the group behind the mission, said it was on the Conscience off Malta’s coast when the vessel was attacked, which caused a fire and “substantial breach in the hull,” according to a statement released by the group.

The parliament of the state of Lower Austria has approved a set of new measures aimed at tackling radical Islam and handing out stricter penalties for families deemed “unwilling to integrate.”

Parents of kindergarten children who are unwilling to comply with certain obligations, such as attending parent-teacher meetings, could face a fine of up to €2,500 or up to six weeks in prison.

The new measures also introduce a burqa ban for state employees, and prohibit public sector workers from attending “radical mosques” or being involved in the activities of radical Islamic associations.

The 16-year-old suspect in custody for the brutal triple murder in Uppsala, Sweden, is of Somali origin, Swedish media report. Documents obtained by the daily Expressen show that social services were concerned about “the people XX associates with, that they are involved in crime, suspected of drug offenses and other types of violent crimes”

For nearly a decade, the teen—now a murder suspect—has been known to social services, with concerns raised both about his care and his own behavior. The father has served short prison terms for various crimes and has a history of khat use and suspected domestic violence.

The family had been offered therapy and drug testing, Expressen’s sources said.

Sectarian fighting in the Damascus suburb of Jaramana left dozens killed, and Israel is already looking to parlay that into a new excuse for military action against the Syrian government, with the idea that they need to “protect” the Druze minority militarily.

The Israeli military reported attacking the Damascus suburb of Sahnaya, and that they targeted an “extremist group” that was planning new attacks on the Druze. Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz issued statements demanding the Syrian government take action to prevent further attacks on the Druze.

Leading National Health Service (NHS) executives participated in a scheme where they were “reverse-mentored” by Muslim staff on their “lived experience.” This follows the earlier circulation of a guide for ‘New Muslims’ across the service aimed at general staff.

According to GB News, the NHS’ chief strategy officer and its director for people volunteered to meet, under the direction of the NHS Muslim Network, with staff and listen to their “lived experience as a Muslim colleague.” The two civil servants, Chris Hopson and Em Wilkinson-Brice, will then have to meet with their Muslim reverse-mentees for a minimum of one hour per quarter.

Separately, the published guidebook sets out the process of conversion to Islam, while referring to the reader as the “convert.” It also advises that modest dress, that is “loose-fitting, modest clothing covering all parts of the body aside [from] the face, hands and feet” be adopted, as “by doing so, you are abiding by an obligation passed to us by God.” Typically, such advice would run contrary to the dress requirements of a sterile medical environment.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has reportedly loosened restrictions on audience members displaying flags during the 2025 Eurovision event scheduled to take place in Basel, Switzerland on May 13th.

The Danish Broadcasting Corporation obtained this year’s official policy regarding national and political emblems. The new EBU policy states that “political messages should be avoided,” while noting host country Switzerland’s “high value on freedom of expression.”

This means spectators will apparently be allowed to bring all flags into the St. Jakobshalle arena, including that of Palestine, which was notably banned from the 2024 contest.

After a man was murdered on Friday, April 25th in a mosque in the south of France, the French Left wants to use the case to denounce a climate that has become ‘dangerous’ for Muslims in France, but the minister of the interior refuses to describe the murder as ‘Islamophobic.’

On the early morning of Friday, April 25th, a Malian man named Aboubakar Cissé was stabbed to death praying in a mosque in La Grande Combe, near Alès, in the Gard department in southern France. The murderer entered the mosque early in the morning and filmed himself killing his victim before fleeing. A refugee in Italy, he has since turned himself in to the police in Pistoia, near Florence.

Since the announcement of the murder, there has been intense debate in the French press about the exact motive of the killer, Olivier Hadzovic, a Frenchman of Bosnian origin. The website Fdesouche reveals that the murderer’s father arrived in France in 2001 with his wife and eleven children. He applied for asylum, which was rejected, but he remained in France after an administrative court ruled that his deportation would be “a disproportionate violation of his right to family life.” Olivier was born in 2004, shortly after his parents arrived in France, and was therefore able to obtain French nationality as being born on French soil. According to the local press, the murderer, who is in his twenties, lives on social welfare benefits, receiving RSA (Revenu de Solidarité Active, or active solidarity income), and spends his days playing video games.

An informal headcount indicated that 10,150 known arrivals had crossed the English Channel by lunchtime of Monday, April 28th. While the official figure will take a day or two to appear, total crossings last year did not reach the same number until May.

Despite this and a promise to ‘smash the gangs’, Labour denies that border control under its government has broken down. The frequent arrival of small boats in the county of Kent is simply the result of good weather and calm seas (permitting 71 people on five ribbed dinghies to arrive this morning).

Fearing for its electoral prospects this week, the government proposes to bring in tighter rules on legal migration, specifically aimed at overseas students who extend their visas by switching to low-paid and semi-skilled jobs in the care sector upon graduation. One Labour MP called this ‘business as usual,’ and denied it was an effort to head off Reform UK at the ballot box.

Indecisive-sounding plans to run a ‘one in, one out’ scheme with France have also sparked indifference and derision. In contrast, last week Reform’s Farage announced a comprehensive plan to restructure Britain’s failing immigration system.

This weekend, Europe witnessed massive demonstrations against mass immigration in Ireland, England, Germany, and Poland. From Dublin to Dover and Warsaw, thousands of people — particularly in small towns and working-class areas—raised their voices peacefully to demand respect for their traditions, their security, and their national identity.

In Dublin, over 10,000 people marched through the city’s main thoroughfares, carrying national flags and banners with slogans such as “Irish Lives Matter,” “Ireland is Full,” and “Coolock Says No.” The protest, partly organized to commemorate the spirit of the 1916 Easter Rising, took place under heavy police presence.

In Dover, hundreds of motorcyclists gathered under the slogan “Stop the Boats” to protest against the massive illegal immigration affecting the south coast of the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, in Belfast, Dortmund and in Polish cities such as Warsaw and Katowice similar rallies took place, reflecting a growing civic resistance to the migration policies imposed by Brussels and Berlin.

Gaza’s ministry of health is misrepresenting the Palestinian casualties sustained since Israel retaliated against the Hamas-led October 7th pogrom.

A new report from a think tank has highlighted inconsistencies between hospital records and statistics issued by the Hamas-controlled health authority. While claims from Gaza that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have deliberately targeted women and children are widespread, the report shows that the IDF has generally managed to avoid disproportionately harming non-combatants, despite the Islamist terror group hiding among civilian populations.

Writing for the Henry Jackson Society, Professors Lewi Stone and Gregory Rose use Gaza hospital records and lists of the deceased to show that, since the start of the conflict, women and children have accounted for 51% of deaths overall—not the more widely (and uncritically) quoted figure. In the past year, the civilian casualty rate has dropped to below that figure. This follows a trend set during the battle for Khan Younis in early 2024, where, although women and children comprised 75% of the local population, they accounted for 34% of deaths.

Of the 11,224 killed since October 2024, 76.3% (8,565) were male. Of these, 58% were fighting-age men. The authors state:

The reduced proportion of women and children casualties indicates increased Israeli avoidance of Gazan civilian harm since Oct 7 2023. This data shows the opposite picture to what one would expect from the narrative of Hamas and its allies, who alleged indiscriminate killing.

This report should challenge those in the European media who seem to embrace Hamas propaganda uncritically.
