The world is rapidly going downhill. Unfortunately, we can’t get off.

Between 35,000 and 12,000 years ago, hunter-gatherers, sheltering on the fringes of the frigid mammoth steppe that shrouded much of the European landmass, entered limestone cave networks, such as Altamira in northern Spain and Chauvet and Lascaux in southern France, carrying pigments. Yellow and red ochres, black manganese oxides, white kaolin clay. On the walls, they rendered images of the beasts that filled their world. Mammoths and bison in heart-thumping lifelikeness. Aurochs and horses. Reindeer and salmon.
Since the 19th century, archaeologists have been fighting over what the pictures might have meant. Initially, priests and gentleman scholars believed they might be a sort of magic for supercharging hunts. Later, some researchers believed they related to shamanic rituals; trances performed in the flickers of animal-grease lamplight. Others argue that whatever meaning there might have been will remain inaccessible to us for ever, holed up in the dark.

The academic performance of German pupils has fallen sharply, according to a report by Berlin’s Humboldt University.
Of the 48,000 Year 10 pupils (15-16 year olds) tested, 34% failed to meet the minimum standards required for secondary school graduation.
This marks a steep decline compared with previous studies in 2012 and 2018.

Voters are showing their opposition to the net-zero climate agenda whenever they get the chance. But that isn’t stopping the United Nations, which this week is poised to impose what amounts to a global tax on carbon emissions. Yes, this is the definition of taxation without representation.
The International Maritime Organization (IMO), a U.N. body based in London, hopes at its meeting this week to secure final approval for its “net-zero framework” for shipping. The measure would impose charges per metric ton of carbon-dioxide that ships emit above certain limits; the tax would be $100 or $380 per metric ton depending on various factors. That could translate to an annual tax take of $10 billion-$12 billion.
If you’ve heard about this at all, it’s probably because the Trump Administration last week threatened to slap sanctions on any country that votes in favor of imposing this tax. Washington rightly worries it will increase the costs of goods American households buy by increasing global shipping costs as much as 10%. Setting aside the trade-policy irony, at least someone in the Trump Administration is worried that expensive imports might be bad for the American economy.
The damage from this U.N. climate tax is as much political as economic. The U.N. has previously toyed with emissions-monitoring schemes, such as for aviation, and the IMO claims this proposal is no different. But this is the first instance we can find of the U.N. claiming the ability to levy a tax—the revenues from which will be paid directly into a U.N.-controlled fund.

The deteriorating relationship between Britain and China in the years after David Cameron’s “golden era” of close economic relations did not stop Beijing from pouring billions of pounds into the UK to secure its place in the country’s critical national infrastructure.
From nuclear power plants to transport infrastructure, Chinese companies have been able to buy stakes in crucial projects, despite the potential security risks.
Britain is the third largest recipient of Chinese investment over the past two decades, behind the US and Australia, according to figures from the American Enterprise Institute.

Dominic Cummings, who served as a senior adviser to Boris Johnson, said that he and the then prime minister were informed about the breach in 2020 but that there had subsequently been a cover-up.
He said he was warned at the time that disclosing some specific details of the breach would be a criminal offence. He claimed that the breach included some “Strap” material, which is the government term for the highest level of classified information.
The breach, which was confirmed by two other senior Whitehall sources, was said to have been connected to a Chinese-owned company involved in Britain’s critical national infrastructure. Tom Tugendhat, a former Tory security minister, supported Cummings’s account.

The home secretary will host counterparts from six western Balkan countries that are crucial to the prevention of illegal immigration to Europe. She will admit that Britain and other European countries do not have control of their borders.
The western Balkans are a major transit route for people smuggling — almost 22,000 people passed through last year, although numbers have fallen after Britain and the EU focused enforcement measures upon the region.

FBI agents are seeking the public’s help identifying four people seen near a mass shooting in a Mississippi Delta town that left six killed and more than a dozen injured over the weekend.
The FBI’s Jackson Field Office late Sunday released photos of the four — one female and three males — shown in surveillance video and identified in an FBI poster as “unknown suspects.” Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive for the shooting in Leland, but the FBI said the gunfire appears to have been “sparked by a disagreement among several individuals.”
The shooting, which came as people celebrated homecoming weekend in downtown Leland shortly after a high school football game, was the deadliest of several shootings across Mississippi on Friday night. Four of the victims died at the scene, where abandoned shoes were left and blood stained the pavement of a downtown street the following day.
The town in question, Leland, is about 70% “African American”.
Imagine how low the crime rates would be if young black males were prohibited from possessing firearms.

In my previous article I suggested that the UK’s proposed “mandatory” digital ID, called the BritCard, was a bait and switch psyop. I posited that the arguments presented by Keir Starmer’s purported Labour government, to supposedly justify the BritCard rollout, coupled with the timing of the announcement, the apparent inability to understand public opinion, and the lack of necessity for the BritCard, indicated that there was something amiss with the so-called government’s BritCard proposition.
It seems to me that the purpose of the BritCard gambit is to frame the Overton Window for the public debate about digital ID in the UK.
People can accept or reject it, imagining the BritCard represents the totality of digital ID infrastructure. If the population rejects the BritCard they may well do so under the misapprehension they have defeated digital ID in the UK.

Chinese coast guard ships used powerful water cannons on Sunday and rammed and slightly damaged an anchored Philippine government vessel off an island inhabited by Filipinos in the disputed South China Sea, the Philippine coast guard said.
There were no injuries among Filipino crewmen of the BRP Datu Pagbuaya, part of the fisheries fleet that provides support to Filipino fishermen. The Chinese coast guard targeted Pagbuaya off the Philippines-occupied Thitu island in the latest flare-up of the long-simmering territorial disputes involving Manila, Beijing, and four other governments.
Two other Philippine fisheries vessels were hit with water cannons in Sunday’s faceoff at least 1.6 nautical miles (nearly 3 kilometers) from Thitu island. There were no damages or injuries, Philippine coast guard spokesperson Commodore Jay Tarriela said in a news briefing on Monday.

U.S. industries and policymakers are scrambling to respond to what some analysts warn is Beijing’s increasing ability to weaponize its near-monopoly over critical minerals.
Since at least April 2025, China has imposed strict export licensing requirements on seven rare earth elements and magnet materials — among them samarium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, lutetium, scandium, and yttrium — citing “national security” and dual-use concerns.

Lawyers for accused assassin Luigi Mangione asked a Manhattan federal judge Saturday to throw out some of his criminal charges – including the lone charge that could put him on death row in the December assassination of UnitedHealthcare chief Brian Thompson outside a Midtown hotel, court papers say.
The defense also wants Mangione’s statements to cops and his backpack with a gun and ammo kept out of trial, arguing he wasn’t read his rights and that officers searched the bag without a warrant after collaring him days later, according to the filing.
Mangione, 27, has pleaded not guilty to state and federal raps in the Dec. 4 killing, which stunned Wall Street and sent corporate security teams scrambling. Thompson was gunned down as he arrived for his company’s annual investor conference, a murder that triggered a multistate manhunt. The suspected shooter ditched the scene on a bicycle to Central Park, then hopped a taxi to a bus depot, investigators say. He was grabbed five days later after a McDonald’s tip in Altoona, Pa., roughly 233 miles from Manhattan, and has been held without bail since.

Thanks to the Marcellus Shale formation, natural gas made Pennsylvania a net exporter of electricity. Fracking enabled Pennsylvania to power homes and industry not just here, but across the entire Mid-Atlantic. The state’s natural gas built modern power plants, attracted investment, and helped America move toward energy independence.
So how is it that Pennsylvanians are still paying more for electricity every year?
Over the past five years, electricity prices in Pennsylvania have risen 45%. It is a tick lower than the national average of a 46% price increase. However, that is hardly comforting when neighbors across the border, in states that import electricity from Pennsylvania, have seen smaller increases.

The U.S. Department of State said on Saturday, October 11th, citing multiple reports, that Cuba has sent hundreds of men to Ukraine to fight alongside the Russian forces.
Havana rejected the U.S. claims, stating that it “does not have accurate information about Cuban citizens” who may be participating in the Russo-Ukrainian war “on their own initiative” or “within the armed forces of either side.”
The Cuban Foreign Ministry said 26 Cubans had been sentenced to prison terms ranging from five to 14 years for mercenary activity since September 2023, when reports circulated of Cubans being sent to the front in Ukraine.
Relatives of Cubans who left for Russia in 2023 told reporters at the time that their loved ones had been deceptively recruited through ads on social media.
In May, when a Ukrainian initiative encouraged foreign combatants to surrender, Kyiv said more than 1,000 Cuban mercenaries had been recruited by Russia since early 2023. “We have reliable information on the names and personal details of 1,028 Cubans who signed contracts with the Russian armed forces in 2023–2024,” said the ‘I Want to Live’ project at the time.

Roger Simon has a Substack piece on the cease fire announcement in Gaza, to which he has added this sobering update:
This is a time when I don’t particularly like being prescient. Just a few days ago, I posted “Gaza–Genuine Peace or a Hudna?” A hudna, for those who missed it, is a tactical pause to allow Islamic forces to regroup.
Minutes ago, the following was posted by Amir Tsarfati on Instagram:’
Hamas publishes “God, let the ceasefire be like the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah—followed by conquest, like the conquest of Mecca.”
Tsarfati adds: (Context: The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah was a temporary peace agreement signed by Mohammed with the Quraysh tribe, which he later broke before conquering Mecca. The statement implies that Hamas views the ceasefire as a tactical pause before a future “victory” or takeover.)
No one who pays attention will be surprised. The cease fire agreement contemplates that the remainder of President Trump’s peace plan, which calls for an end to Hamas rule and an international coalition to supervise Gaza on an interim basis, will be negotiated in good faith. But of course Hamas has never done anything in good faith, and it is hard to imagine that the remainder of the peace plan will actually be implemented.

Yet when you leave the press conference and walk the sidewalks of Baltimore, Chicago, or Los Angeles, the reality feels far different. The gap between official numbers and lived experience is wide enough to swallow public trust whole.
The reason for this disconnect is simple: Most crime never gets reported in the first place. The Baltimore Sun recently highlighted what criminologists have known for decades—about half of all crime in America isn’t captured in police data. Burglaries are only reported 45% of the time. Simple assaults, 37%. Sexual assaults, a shameful 21%. Think about that for a moment: Nearly 4 out of 5 sexual assaults never reach the official record. Yet politicians still spin a story that safety is improving.

It means that 16.5 per cent of the entire budget went to migrants – or £1 in every £6.
The amount spent on overseas nationals has increased from £6.3bn in 2022 and £7.9bn in 2023, rising as a proportion from 15.5 to 16.5 per cent.

IThe trend is based on an observable stereotype: The idea that many crazed feminists on social media tend to have the exact same physical characteristics. It’s the blue hair, the face, neck and full body tattoos, the high cut bangs and, of course, they almost always seem to have septum rings in their noses. Men have noticed the similarities and are now avoiding any woman with the same features.
The theory is supported by the leftist habit of using symbolic identifiers, much like a cult would use to pick out other adherents in a crowd. When the pandemic mandates failed to garner enough public support in the US and the mask requirements were abandoned (largely because the masks were proven to be useless), the political left continued to wear them anyway. Why? Because the masks had become symbolic of the cult, a uniform for the woke.
The septum ring is the new covid mask. It’s a signal to other believers that they are on the same side.

The U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) released a report in August that made me cringe. It detailed how Chinese money laundering networks (CMLNs) have quietly embedded themselves in the U.S. financial system.
The numbers were hard to ignore: more than 137,000 suspicious activity reports tied to CMLNs between 2020 and 2024, covering more than $312 billion in suspect flows. What caught me completely by surprise was the volume of student-linked accounts—ordinary checking accounts held by Chinese nationals studying in the United States—used as high-speed conduits for laundering cartel funds and sidestepping China’s currency restrictions.
The opportunity is driven by the interplay between supply and demand. Mexican cartels are sitting on piles of U.S. dollars from drug sales. But Mexico doesn’t want those dollars in its banks, and China won’t let its citizens convert more than $50,000 worth of yuan into foreign currency each year. That’s where the arbitrage begins. Chinese buyers want dollars, and cartels want to offload them without a huge hit on the profits. CMLNs broker the swap, and the activities occur below the radar.

The newly elected Social Democrat (SPD) mayor of the German city of Herdecke, Iris Stalzer, was stabbed multiple times yesterday inside her home. The woman’s two adopted children, a 15-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter, were taken into custody after the incident. Photos of the son being led away in handcuffs were also published in a variety of German media outlets.
Stalzer’s life remains in danger, but according to Focus, she was briefly awake and was able to answer police questions. However, although she signaled she knew who her attacker was, she refused to provide any further details to police.
An investigation remains underway, and so far, it does not appear anyone has been charged in the attack. Alex MacGillivray – better known as “amac” – is a lawyer and technologist who was most recently deputy assistant to the president and principal deputy US chief technology officer (CTO) in the Biden-Harris administration. Previously, Macgillivray was deputy US CTO for the Obama-Biden administration, and served as Twitter’s general counsel and board secretary, and as the company’s head of corporate development, communications, and trust and safety. As someone who worked directly on the Biden administration’s Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights and within Twitter in developing core approaches to trust and safety issues, it’s hard to think of anyone more knowledgeable about how technology regulation is built and how corporations respond to it.
Democrats, like all statists, have a built-in reflex: If you see something, it needs to be regulated. This is based on the assumption that the statists will be in charge of the government and therefore in control of such regulation, which they can use for

The Chinese Communist Party and its armed wing, the People’s Liberation Army, last month began a major shift away from the 40-year-old strategy known as “hide and bide” — keeping a low profile while advancing military and economic power — according to an Air Force think tank report.
Instead, Chinese supreme leader Xi Jinping announced during a massive military parade showing off new weapons and firepower that the communist regime is now the leader of a forthcoming world order designed to replace the United States.
“The September 3rd Victory Day parade in Beijing showcased an array of military capabilities intended to demonstrate the fruits of its decades-long modernization effort,” the report by the China Aerospace Studies Institute said.

The Congressional Budget Office estimated Wednesday that the federal budget deficit for fiscal 2025 was $1.8 trillion as interest payments crossed $1 trillion for the first time.
That $1.8 trillion number is $8 billion less than what was recorded in fiscal 2024. Tax revenue increased by just over $300 billion, but spending also increased by about the same amount, according to the CBO.
There’s the whole problem in a nutshell. The accompanying graph demonstrates that the Party of Free Stuff is doing its best to bankrupt the country in its quest to buy the votes of the underclass.

Nearly 80 percent of Americans favor the deportation of immigrants who are in the United States illegally and have committed crimes, and a clear majority favor deporting all immigrants who are here illegally, according to a new poll.
President Trump’s policy of deporting criminal illegal aliens is his second most popular policy according to the Harvard Caps/Harris poll, just under lowering prescription drug prices for Medicare recipients and low income patients.
The survey was conducted online within the United States on October 1-2, amid loud and often violent left-wing protests outside of ICE facilities in cities like Portland and Chicago.
Of course, as we all know, polls (especially ‘online’ polls) are worth very little. Still, this flatly contradicts all of the ‘polls’ being pushed by the Narrative Media recently.
