Close to One and a Half Million Immigrants Are Receiving Government Welfare in the UK

British government figures have revealed that a whopping 1.3 million foreigners are receiving Universal Credit benefits at the taxpayer’s expense.

I’d guess it’s three times that in the U.S.

The stats from the Department of Work and Pensions show that in June 1.26 million people, out of a total 7.9 million claimants, received the welfare subsidies.

While Conservative MPs attempted to jump on the Labour government over the findings, Reform leader Nigel Farage noted that it was the Conservative government that introduced the Universal Credit system and facilitated mass immigration for years.

Israeli Student Assaulted at Infamous ‘Die-In’ Protest Sues Harvard for Protecting Perpetrators

Harvard University “refused to take any reasonable action to punish” its two students who faced criminal charges for assaulting an Israeli classmate and instead “did everything it could to defend, protect, and reward” them, according to a new lawsuit from the Israeli student.

Video footage of the incident showed the assailants, law student Ibrahim Bharmal and divinity school student Elom Tettey-Tamaklo, shoving and accosting Israeli business school student Yoav Segev at an October 2023 “die-in” protest. Bharmal and Tettey-Tamaklo eventually faced criminal charges, which came to a head in April when they agreed to take an in-person anger management class and perform 80 hours of community service as part of a pretrial diversion program.

Former Harvard president Claudine Gay testified to Congress that the school would complete its own disciplinary process after the criminal case’s conclusion. Instead, both Bharmal and Tettey-Tamaklo were allowed to graduate in good standing from their respective schools shortly after they agreed to the diversion program. They were also “rewarded” for their anti-Semitic behavior, the lawsuit notes: Bharmal received a $65,000 “public interest” fellowship from the Harvard Law Review shortly before graduating, while Tettey-Tamaklo was made a class marshall for the divinity school’s graduation ceremony.

UK to Lower Voting Age to 16, But Could Plans to Garner ‘Socialist Fodder’ End Up Backfiring?

Britain’s left-wing Labour government has announced plans to lower the voting age in time for the next U.K. general election, allowing 16- and 17-year-olds to vote in what it described as sweeping electoral reforms to “modernize democracy.”

Ministers say the move is designed to rebuild public trust, but critics have accused the government of trying to tilt the electoral playing field in its favor, with recent polling suggesting Labour would benefit from a third of the votes.

The voting age reform is part of a broader Elections Bill that will also ease voter ID rules by allowing bank cards as accepted identification and introduce tougher regulations on foreign donations, campaigner abuse, and digital voter registration.

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner said the plan would “break down barriers to participation” and deliver on Labour’s manifesto promise to extend the vote to young people who already “work, pay taxes, and serve in the military.”

Minister for Democracy Rushanara Ali called it a “generational step forward.”

No, they just want more votes for Labour from a demographic that has often demonstrated an inability to think things through. There  is a reason that voting is restricted to adults. Indeed, a good case could be made for raising it to 25, which is where the insurance companies (based on actual statistical data) consider people old enough not to do stupid shit in traffic.

Belmont University Rebrands DEI Program, Defies Trump Executive Orders

Belmont University is in the spotlight after videos surfaced showing top administrative officials discussing how they are defying President Trump’s Executive Orders ending official discrimination based on race and sex.

Townhall reports that it has obtained leaked video of officials at the Nashville, Tennessee-based university bragging that they’ve simply rebranded their Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity (DEI) program as the office of Hope, Unity and Belonging (HUB).

According to Jozef Lukey, Assistant Director of Student Success and Flourishing at Belmont, the secret to not getting caught skirting Trump’s executive orders is to keep everything as quiet as possible while working “to create as an inclusive space as possible.”

Illegal Immigrant Accused of Faking ICE Kidnapping to Solicit Donations

An illegal immigrant living in South Los Angeles faces federal charges for allegedly falsely claiming she had been kidnapped by federal immigration agents in a fast food restaurant parking lot, the U.S. Attorney’s Office reported July 17.

According to federal authorities, Yuriana Julia Pelaez Calderon, 41, faked her own kidnapping, and her family used the made-up story to solicit online donations from the community.

Calderon has been charged with conspiracy and making false statements to federal officers.

She is now in U.S. immigration custody and is expected to make her first appearance in Los Angeles federal court in the next few weeks, according to prosecutors.

Federal prosecutors filed a criminal complaint on July 16 detailing the alleged web of deceit that started last month.

New York Democrats—and the broader party in desperate need of a course correction—continue to double, triple, and even quadruple down on all things woke. They’ve now taken it a step further by openly cheerleading socialism and Marxism. This increasingly radical un-American direction, backed by a network of dark money-funded NGOs, has even drawn criticism from prominent figures like JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, who recently described Democrats as “idiots … with big hearts and little brains.”

Democrats “overdid DEI,” Dimon said last week, adding, “I have a lot of friends who are Democrats, and they’re idiots.”

Dimon isn’t wrong—in fact, he’s spot on. He sees clearly that the party has veered further down a toxic, increasingly un-American path at a time when the Overton Window shifted back toward the center-right after a decade of woke. Yet Democrats seem oblivious to this realignment of what is now socially acceptable in the eyes of the American people.

Meanwhile, Democrats are testing the waters with socialist Bernie Sanders and Marxist New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, posing for a staged photo op.

“The Oligarchs are prepared to undermine democracy & spend tens of millions to buy the election for his opponents,” Sanders’ social media team wrote on X, adding, “We will not allow that to happen. Stand with Zohran.”

Democratic nominee for New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani said he has helped his father, a radical Columbia University professor who has called for a “Third Intifadah,” edit his writings in an attempt to “stay engaged” with his work, audio reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon shows.

“I will help my parents, like editing their speeches or writings, just as, like, a fresh eye, to make it more accessible,” he said during a resurfaced 2017 interview on the AirGo podcast. “And that’s awesome, because I also get to stay engaged with what they’re saying and doing.”

The comments raise new questions about Mamdani’s support for the extremist views of his father, Mahmood Mamdani. The elder Mamdani’s latest book, dedicated to his son, repeatedly equates Jews with Nazis, rails against the “Judaization” of Israel by “Ashkenazi elites,” and claims that Israel’s existence proves that Hitler’s “Final Solution” worked. He has also appeared to justify suicide bombers as simply a “category of soldier” and called for a “Third Intifadah against settler colonialism.”

The Illegal, Democrat-Linked Pot Farm the Left Wants You to Ignore

I want to talk about a big controversy. And that is Immigration and Customs Enforcement was recently deployed to the largest pot farm, cannabis farm, in California: Glass House Farms, run by Graham Farrar. He is the owner of it. And he was employing well over 300 illegal aliens, openly, in front of everybody.

It’s in the wider Los Angeles area, in Ventura County. And ICE went there. Of course, as it happens now, people within the government, the bureaucracy, tip off protesters. So as soon as ICE got to the pot farm, there were people. The usual crowd: academics, leftists, Latino organizers that are radical.

And of course, they were waving the Mexican flag. The flag that the people who were going to be detained do not want to go back to. They were not waving the American flag, of the country in which they are desperately eager to stay, even under illegal auspices.

But here’s the irony. This raid typified or exemplified or was emblematic of all the strange things that are going on with illegal immigration.

UC San Diego Thought It Found a Loophole to Offer Race-Based Scholarships. Now It’s Being Sued Under the KKK Act.

In 1983, the University of California, San Diego, created the Black Alumni Scholarship Fund (BASF). Operated and funded by the university, the scholarship subsidized the tuition of black students—who at that time made up just 2 percent of UCSD—and provided them with mentorship and study abroad opportunities.

Then Proposition 209 passed.

California’s ban on affirmative action, which went into effect in 1997, meant that state universities could no longer offer scholarships like UCSD’s. But rather than shut down the program, the university found a loophole to keep it up and running.

With help from private donors, UCSD transferred the scholarship to an off-campus nonprofit, the San Diego Foundation, that was not subject to Prop. 209. The move allowed the scholarship to continue operating under the auspices of a private institution, even though the program is only available to UCSD students and uses racial data provided by the university.

Now in its 42nd year, BASF has doled out more than $800,000 on behalf of UCSD. It is part of a family of race-based programs, including those in Texas and Michigan, that are financed by private nonprofits but support students at public schools, an arrangement critics say is used to outsource discrimination to the private sector.

A new lawsuit threatens to chip away at the legal foundations of that arrangement. In a complaint filed against UCSD and the San Diego Foundation on Wednesday, a conservative law firm is arguing that both entities conspired to deprive students of their civil rights, thereby violating a 19th-century law meant to rein in racial vigilantism.

Arkansas Critical Race Theory Ban Cleared With Ruling

An Arkansas law banning the teaching of critical race theory in classrooms will be allowed to proceed after a federal appellate court lifted a preliminary injunction in a lawsuit filed by teachers, students, and others who said the law suppresses free speech.

The U.S. 8th District Court of Appeals, in ruling for the state on Wednesday, said that it concluded that “the district court erred by granting a preliminary injunction to the students because they are not likely to succeed on their free speech claim,” reports ABC affiliate KATV.

The ban is part of the LEARNS Act, signed in 2023. According to Section 16 of the legislation, the “indoctrination” of students through the teaching of critical race theory, which covers teaching in schools about race in connection with American history, is prohibited.

Yet anotther win against Wokery.

The Hidden Cost of Europe’s Free Education

Europe’s free university model is often seen as a triumph of modern society. With no crushing tuition bills, minimal student debt, and a promise of equal access, it sounds ideal. In countries like Germany and France, students pay only a small administrative fee, typically between $200 and $500 a year, compared to the staggering tuition costs in the US or UK. Many also receive financial aid in the form of grants that don’t need to be repaid, or low-interest loans based on need.

But behind the promises of fairness and opportunity lies a system that too often feels rigid, overcrowded, and uninspiring.

For all its accessibility, the reality of navigating these institutions can leave students feeling like just another number in a giant, bureaucratic machine.

When education is available to everyone, universities become packed. Lecture halls overflow, and personal contact with professors becomes rare. In many European countries, it is normal to attend classes with hundreds of other students. There is little space for discussion, feedback, or even questions.

Supply is limited, demand is infinite. Elementary economics. (Just like health care!)

How the N.Y.C. Mayoral Race Is Impacting the Luxury Real Estate Market in South Florida

The shock from New York City’s recent mayoral primary wasn’t just political; it was palpable within the luxury real estate world. Within hours of Zohran Mamdani’s win, some Manhattan buyers were already shifting gears, reaching out to brokers in Florida to explore their options. “The night that the primary election results started coming in, I received four different text messages from N.Y.C. clients as well as a call and an email,” Danny Hertzberg of The Jills Zeder Group in Miami tells Robb Report. “The response was immediate.”

The threat of a communist Mayor will do that.

Mamdani, a 33-year-old democratic socialist, won on a platform that includes building 200,000 affordable homes, freezing rents on stabilized units, imposing a 2 percent millionaire’s tax, and doubling the minimum wage. His proposals have energized progressives but raised concerns among parts of the real estate and investment sectors. While some investors and real estate professionals are trepidatious, supporters argue that his policies aim to address long-standing affordability challenges in New York City by increasing access to housing and strengthening tenant protections.

According to Hertzberg, the reaction hasn’t just been noise. One client who had been under contract for a property in New York pulled out the day after the election and is now house-hunting in Miami, looking to move capital into what he sees as a more business-friendly and growth-oriented market.

There will be a lot of real estate bargains for rich communists if Mamdani gets elected.

Anti-Israel UN Commissioners Resign En Masse After Trump Sanctions

All three commissioners leading the United Nations’ anti-Israel inquisition panel resigned this week, just days after the State Department sanctioned a pro-Hamas U.N. investigator.

The U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory’s chairwoman Navi Pillay, commissioner Miloon Kothari, and commissioner Chris Sidoti all announced they are stepping down, according to the watchdog group U.N. Watch.

The exodus comes less than a week after Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced U.S. sanctions against U.N. special rapporteur for the Palestinian territories Francesca Albanese for her “illegitimate and shameful efforts to prompt [International Criminal Court] action against U.S. and Israeli officials, companies, and executives.”

How DOJ Attorney-to-Leftwing Activist Pipeline Works to Oppose Trump

Media accounts have cast departing Justice Department lawyers as principled nonpartisan civil servants too conscientious to serve a politicized Trump administration. But several of these lawyers have taken up very political roles after they’ve left the department.

Dan Freeman, the litigation director for the Democratic National Committee, touted his time in the Justice Department in a fundraising email this week, asserting the Trump administration “forced out brilliant lawyers” and “directed us to drop crucial cases.”

“I spent almost 15 years at the DOJ as a voting rights lawyer. I was a civil servant, and I loved enforcing the Voting Rights Act on behalf of the American people,” Freeman’s letter says. “I helped stop voter purges in Alabama and gerrymandering in Texas. But everything changed when President Trump returned to the White House.”

Freeman vowed the DNC is “going to use legal action to enforce voting rights laws when states around the country violate them, and we’ll intervene and defend your right to vote when the Republican Party tries to make it harder for you to cast a ballot that will be counted.”

In response to an inquiry from The Daily Signal, Freeman said in a written statement, “This isn’t about party, it’s about democracy.”

When a Democrat uses the term ‘democracy’, he means ‘Democrat power’.

Diversity and Inclusion Experts Eligible for Skilled Work Visas

Diversity and inclusion experts can come to the UK on skilled work visas, The Telegraph can reveal.
The Home Office has also safeguarded visa application routes for the vocations of poet and blogger on a list of protected occupations.
Labour has made tackling migration one of its key targets, with a crackdown on work visas announced earlier this year after net migration neared one million.
Yvette Cooper, the Home Secretary, vowed to ensure that the immigration system was “linked to skills and training”.
But critics have said that ministers are protecting the wrong professions instead of focusing on importing workers who will contribute to the ailing economy.
Under the “crackdown” announced in May, a temporary list of “shortage” occupations was drawn up outlining who would continue to be eligible for skilled work visas.
Among these roles is “equality and diversity manager”. In recent years, such jobs have become controversial for pushing concepts such as the idea of “white privilege”.
The profession has been described as a “plague” on the public sector, and the Civil Service alone has spent £27 million of taxpayers’ money on diversity officers in a year. More than £13 million is being spent on the salaries of diversity officers by NHS trusts each year.

I wrote recently about the chilling jurisprudence of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, who has drawn the ire of colleagues in opinions for her rhetoric and extreme positions.

Many have expressed alarm over her adherence to what has been described by a colleague as an “imperial judiciary” model of jurisprudence. Now, it appears that Jackson’s increasingly controversial opinions are serving a certain cathartic purpose for the far-left Biden appointee.

On ABC News, Jackson stated, “I just feel that I have a wonderful opportunity to tell people in my opinions how I feel about the issues, and that’s what I try to do.”

Her colleagues have not entirely welcomed that sense of license.

‘Poverty’ Nonprofit That Smears Conservatives Has Millions in Offshore Accounts, IRS Records Show

Despite its penurious name, the Southern Poverty Law Center has an endowment of more than $700 million, compensates leadership handsomely, and possesses more than $30 million in offshore accounts—likely in the Cayman Islands, its most recent IRS filing reveals.

“It’s very odd and frankly raises suspicion that a nonprofit organization would have accounts in places like the Cayman Islands, or as they reported $30 million in Central America,” Mat Staver, founder and chairman of the law firm Liberty Counsel, told The Daily Signal on Tuesday.

“The Cayman Islands has always been known as one of these places that people select to hide their money from the government,” he noted. “This is a public charity, and they should explain to the public, why do they find it necessary to have money in these offshore accounts? I don’t think there’s any good explanation.”

As I wrote in my book, “Making Hate Pay,” the SPLC gained its reputation by suing Ku Klux Klan groups into bankruptcy, and it publishes an annual “hate map” that includes mainstream conservative and Christian nonprofits alongside Klan chapters. The SPLC uses this map to urge Big Tech and financial companies to blacklist conservatives, to advise law enforcement on “hate” threats, and to urge donors to contribute to its cause of fighting “hate.”

The monetization of hate under the masquerade of opposing it is a specialty of the Left. They’ve been doing it for decades and they are very, very good at it.

In a coffee shop on the ground floor of 85 Broad St. in lower Manhattan, once Goldman Sachs’s headquarters, the democratic socialist made the case that while he would be focused on income inequality, he was also open to working with the city’s business elite.

“He said, ‘Look, I’m not in favor of government taking over your business,’” Wylde said. “He made clear that he’s not anticapitalist in that sense.”

So it’s all a scam. “What do you want to be when you grow up, Zohran?” “I want to be an incredibly wealthy socialist, like my friends.”

The Frightening Dream House of Zoran Mamdani

After his first-place win in the New York City mayoral primaries, Zoran Mamdani is furiously denying everything that he once glibly thought was cutting-edge and cool.

So, like a good postmodern relativist, Mamdani now claims he didn’t really mean that violence was merely a “construct.”

I suppose Mamdani asked Jewish New Yorkers—the target of 44 percent of all hate crimes in the city—and discovered that their concussions and blood were all too real.

As a good soldier in the ranks of Black Lives Matter, Mamdani now insists he did not trash the police and advocate defunding them. Neither did he really, really mean to claim falsely he was African-American when he applied to college nor did really, really mean to do a video mocking the Jewish holiday of Hannukah.

Mamdani once thought it was cool to boast about defunding the police when he was an edgy, rising, left-wing community activist.

But then it was smarter to play it down as a candidate. And now it is essential to lie and deny it as a front-runner.

As a good communist, Mamdani echoed Karl Marx by bragging about his ultimate agenda: “the end goal of seizing the means of production.”

But whose “means of production” would Mamdani start seizing?

Yours. Mine.

Rob has been fined £150,000 by the NHS in a funding “claw back” effectively for maintaining his patients healthy teeth through regular check ups and preventative work.

It is an example of the widely discredited NHS dental payment contract which is causing dentists to quit the health service in their droves to see only private patients.

How about that super government-provided health care? Don’t you wish we had a system like that in the U.S.?

Well, it’s on its way, if Democrats have anything to say about it.

11 States Urge Trump, Congress to Defund UN Climate Programs

Eleven state agriculture commissioners called on the Trump administration and Congress to yank funding from United Nations programs that they say are hurting American farmers.

“The federal government should stop using American taxpayer dollars to fund the United Nations International Maritime Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and the United Nations Environment Program, because each of these organizations’ net-zero policies will have devastating effects on American consumers, farmers, and ranchers, and further endanger food security for the poor in America,” said the July 1 letter.

“Net-zero” refers to policies that aim to reduce the net amount of carbon emissions to zero by the year 2050, either by fully eliminating them or by offsetting them.

DHS Monitoring Attacks Near ICE Facilities in Texas, Oregon

The Department of Homeland Security is closely monitoring a series of attacks near Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities that happened in Texas and Oregon.

“We are closely monitoring the attacks on DHS detention facilities in Prairieland, TX, and Portland, OR, and are coordinating with the USAOs and our law enforcement partners. The Department has zero tolerance for assaults on federal officers or property and will bring the full weight of the law against those responsible,” U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche posted on X.

Late Friday night a shooting occurred near the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado Texas. One officer was injured, and multiple armed suspects are in custody according to authorities. The injured officer was flown from the scene to a Fort Worth hospital, was treated and later released, according to the Alvarado Police Department.

After Lone Star Success, DOJ Sues Kentucky, Minnesota Over In-State Tuition for Illegal Aliens

Attention, all parents and college students worried about the ever-rising cost of college tuition. The Department of Justice has finally—after three decades—started enforcing the federal law that prohibits states from offering in-state tuition to illegal aliens unless they also offer in-state tuition to everyone else—including all citizen students from out of state.

The law it’s enforcing has existed since 1996, when Congress passed the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act.

Buried inside that huge law was Section 505, codified at 8 U.S.C. § 1623, which prohibits state colleges and universities from providing in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens “on the basis of residence within the State” unless the same in-state rates are offered to all citizens of the United States.

The Curbing of the Administrative State

The Supreme Court delivered an opinion last week that not even the best of the punditry class was prepared to understand. The decision was Trump vs. CASA, and the topic concerned the nationwide injunction against Trump’s management of U.S. immigration policy. As with more than 40 other cases, federal district judges have intervened to stop the president from exercising executive powers.

The opinion could not be plainer: “Universal injunctions likely exceed the equitable authority that Congress has given to federal courts.” That principle applies not only to this case but to the whole panoply of cases that have tethered the ability of the president to manage executive branch operations. The courts have presumed authority over the president that the Constitution plainly does not grant.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett said the following of the unjoined dissent by Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson: “[It] is at odds with more than two centuries’ worth of precedent, not to mention the Constitution itself. We observe only this: Justice Jackson decries an Imperial Executive while embracing an imperial Judiciary.”

Failing to Learn the Lessons of History

Plenty of people have commented on New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani’s proposal to lower food prices by creating city-owned grocery stores, but there is still more to be said about this plan. Mamdani either thinks or believes that voters think that store owners are making huge profit through price gouging, and that recent increases in prices have nothing to do with inflation, tariffs, or other government actions.

Once a government store opens, the public employee unions will quickly organize the workers and demand that the city pay a “living wage,” which will no doubt be defined as sufficient to allow employees to rent an un-rent-controlled apartment. This will more than eat up any savings from not having to earn a profit or pay taxes. Far from saving consumers money, the grocery store will have to charge much more than their competitors to keep afloat.

Except they won’t, because instead of earning a profit the city-owned grocery stores will start out in the red and get only redder over time. The city will start by paying the capital costs of converting some building into a grocery, then agree to cover worker wages and pensions. Soon the whole idea of “covering costs” will be seen as archaic and the city council and state legislature will be told not to look at the revenues when asked to fork over more subsidies.

You only have to look at the transit industry to see how this will play out.

I propose that we accompany physical detox with a verbal detox: we need to purge our bloated vocabulary of several concepts that are poisoning our understanding of ourselves and the world.

These concepts have been elaborated by people who would describe themselves as “self-aware,” “progressive,” and “liberated,” but they are actually terms more fit for a society of slaves than a society of free persons. Indeed, these concepts, at least as they are typically employed by “progressives,” could be described, without exaggeration, as a species of slavespeak. By this, I simply mean that they are used disingenuously, to rationalise political oppression and slavery.

What it will inevitably actually do is expand government, hire more government workers, and increase taxes.
