The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has made a groundbreaking decision mandating Poland to officially acknowledge and safeguard same-sex unions, emphasizing the country’s responsibilities as an EU member to uphold “equal rights” for all couples.
Poland’s refusal to recognize same-sex marriages, particularly those performed abroad, was deemed a violation of individual rights, with the court urging the government to enact appropriate legislation.
This is not the first time the ECHR has addressed Poland’s treatment of same-sex couples. In 2023, the court found that Poland’s refusal to recognize same-sex unions violated Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Micha? Wo?, former deputy justice minister under the Law & Justice (PiS government), criticized the ECtHR ruling, saying it is part of a broader effort by European elites to force values onto Poland that conflict with its national identity. He pointed out that, under Poland’s constitution, marriage is defined as a union between a man and a woman.
Draft bills on registered partnerships and civil unions in Poland, released in October last year, propose changes to more than 200 existing laws but face opposition from both PiS and the center-right Polish People’s Party (PLS).

“The effort to be more inclusive has gone too far: it has increasingly been used to silence and exclude those who hold different opinions,” the founder and CEO of Meta said in January of this year regarding the censorship prevailing on social media platforms. The Facebook owner also admitted, “Governments and traditional media have been pushing for more and more censorship. A lot of this is clearly done for political reasons.”
Mark Zuckerberg’s volte-face is clearly linked to the election of pro-freedom Donald Trump as president. Previously, Facebook censorship was defended with the argument that Meta is a private company and, according to its own rules, restricts whatever it wants on its platforms. Meta also used to claim that there were no political interests influencing this process. These arguments, of course, were completely nullified by Zuckerberg’s admissions. Incidentally, judicial practice previously considered it a “public statement” if someone expressed their opinion on Facebook—not in a private message—or made a defamatory statement about someone, or damaged someone’s reputation.
What was truly novel about the billionaire tech guru’s statements, however, was the bluntness with which he spoke about the interventions of the globalist elite.

Two protesters have been arrested after disrupting the London Marathon by throwing red powder paint in front of the elite runners.
At 1035am the two activists jumped over the barriers at Tower Bridge, wearing T-shirts that read “Youth Demand: Arming Israel”.
Youth Demand describes itself as a “new youth resistance campaign fighting for an end to genocide”.
The pair of protesters, who were arrested by City of London police, were named as Willow Holland, 18, from Bristol, and Cristy North, a live-in carer from Nottingham.
Women. Of course. Of course it doesn’t occur to them that they are doing their cause more harm than good by being so irrationally irritating.

America’s two highest-profile socialists once had real Marxist street cred. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was a young barista who steamed her way into public service. Bernie Sanders is a U.S. senator from Vermont with a vaudeville-grade Brooklyn accent. Endearingly rumpled, he appeared to embody the phrase “living paycheck to paycheck.”
These two joined forces early. Their Grandpa-and-Granddaughter-of-Government-Overreach shtick was almost touching in an old-timey way—much like flipping through faded photos of Truman-era coal miners, sipping soup from lunch-pail Thermoses.
They’ve come a long way, baby!

An official at the World Health Organization (WHO) brazenly admitted to being behind worldwide censorship during the COVID-19 pandemic, but that’s not his most disturbing confession.
WHO Team Lead for Digital Channels Andy Pattison explained during an April 15 interview with the Planet Classroom Podcast the role his globalist organization took in pushing major social media platforms to censor users. Pattison discussed how the WHO worked with Big Tech on so-called misinformation prior to COVID-19. He addressed these companies’ efforts to “make their misinformation and disinformation policies a little bit stronger,” adding, “we were advising them on how best to do that.”
Disinformation policies on Big Tech platforms did in fact get “a little bit stronger” during the pandemic. In fact, MRC Free Speech’s exclusive database CensorTrack, shows that MRC researchers have found more censorship related to COVID-19 than any other specific issue. The 1,319 examples included seven examples of platforms censoring U.S. senators and 11 examples of platforms censoring members of Congress. Big Tech even censored at least 45 doctors or medical researchers. The MRC found 569 accounts that Big Tech platforms deleted and hundreds more that these platforms locked.

Procter & Gamble and other prominent corporations fund a “racial justice” group whose leader, a former Obama White House official, lashed out this week at what he called “white mediocrity” and urged a “woke” army of black youth “to wage war with whiteness.”
David Johns, who led President Barack Obama’s White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans, made the remarks at an event Tuesday to promote a boycott against Target for rolling back its DEI programs.
Johns is the executive director of the National Black Justice Coalition, a black LGBT group that aims to fight “anti-Blackness.” The nonprofit lists companies like Airbnb, Sephora, Sony, and Procter & Gamble as sponsors. Procter & Gamble, which sells household brands like Gillette and Charmin, contributed $515,000 to the National Black Justice Coalition in 2023, around one-fourth of the nonprofit’s budget, according to tax records. The Department of Health and Human Services under President Biden awarded the National Black Justice Coalition a $1.2 million contract through 2026 as part of the government’s “Let’s Stop HIV Together” campaign. It is unclear if HHS is still funding the coalition, but Johns said last month his organization was “proud to be a grantee” of the HIV program.
Speaking at the anti-Target event, Johns endorsed the boycott and railed against President Donald Trump as a “fascist trying to rob us of our wealth.” He also urged black consumers to shop at black-owned businesses as part of a movement to “reclaim … African ways of being.”
“We don’t need nothing from white people. We don’t need nothing from white people,” said Johns. “They can’t even make potato salad.”
Nothing stopping him from going back home to Africa, where he wouldn’t have to put up with white people.

Will this law review article “promote DEI values”? Does it cite scholars from “underrepresented groups”? Will it have “any foreseeable impact in enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion”? And why did one team of editors solicit “only white, male authors”?
Those are some of the questions that editors at the Harvard Law Review asked in internal documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. The documents, which span more than four years and have not been previously reported, include article evaluations, training materials, and data on the race and gender of journal authors. They reveal a pattern of pervasive race discrimination at the nation’s top law journal and threaten to plunge Harvard, already at war with the federal government, into even deeper crisis.
The law review states on its website that it considers race only in the context of an applicant’s personal statement. But according to dozens of documents obtained by the Free Beacon—including lists of every new policy adopted by the law review since 2021—race plays a far larger role in the selection of both editors and articles than the journal has publicly acknowledged.
Just over half of journal members, for example, are admitted solely based on academic performance. The rest are chosen by a “holistic review committee” that has made the inclusion of “underrepresented groups”—defined to include race, gender identity, and sexual orientation—its “first priority,” according to resolution passed in 2021.

ZMan talks about the gathering….
One of the amusing sideshows since Trump has taken power is the pearl clutching from the usual suspects about the law and process. The people who sat silent as lawfare was waged against Americans for the crime of holding unapproved opinions are now suddenly concerned with the rule of law. The people who took money from tech companies to remain silent about tech censorship are now carrying on as if they are dissidents because they no longer control the discourse.
Hypocrisy is a feature of man, and it has always had a central role in American politics because America is a nation of moralizers. The one thing we have always overproduced is preachers ready to wag their bony fingers at the people as they lecture them about their many moral failings. The United States is a giant outdoor revival tent where preachers take turns performing for the crowd. When not lecturing the locals, our preachers travel the world to lecture foreigners.
Preachers need to believe they are special, perhaps even called or chosen to lead the sinners out of sin into the land of salvation. You cannot think you are a wretch and at the same time be a preacher. You can be a wretch and confess your wretchedness to the people in the pews as part of your redemption. You can testify about your former wretchedness and how you rejoined the mass of ordinary sinners. You cannot preach unless you are sure you are something special.

While Columbia University is the reigning champion of the anti-Israel academic scene, over in New Jersey, Rutgers University is making a bold play for the title with its Center for Security, Race and Rights (CSRR). For a center housed in a 4th-tier law school at a 3rd-tier university, it has assembled a surprisingly major collection of anti-Israel academics, making it worthy of the kind of scrutiny that many 1st-tier universities are now facing.
In fact, if a university sought to bring together the largest, most diverse group of credentialed, (in)famous, BDS-supporting, Israel-hating apologists for Palestinian terrorism, it would be difficult to top the CSRR.

Pro-Israel students at Cornell University are up in arms over an upcoming spring concert funded by hundreds of thousands of dollars in mandatory student fees featuring the singer Kehlani, who has endorsed “intifada” and said bluntly, “It’s f— Israel, it’s f— Zionism.”
Kehlani is slated to headline Cornell’s Slope Day, scheduled for May 7, an annual concert that marks the end of the school year. The university announced the event in a statement touting the “multi-Grammy Award-nominated R&B artist.” It did not initially acknowledge the controversy her appearance has kicked up, though university president Michael Kotlikoff said last week that the artist will not make political statements and will forfeit her fee if she does so.
Kehlani, whose anti-Israel activism has garnered national headlines, posted a series of Instagram videos last May in which she said she had lost “any ounce of f—ing respect” for musical artists who did not publicly condemn Israel and its war on Hamas.
The musical is political, apparently. To a proglodyte, just as every German is a fascist, every Israeli is a Zionist.

Women’s fencer Stephanie Turner will be stepping back from fencing “for a while” after she was placed on a 12-month probation by USA Fencing for refusing to compete against a transgender athlete last month, a report said.
Turner, 31, was disqualified from USA Fencing’s Cherry Blossom Open when she took a knee rather than fence Redmond Sullivan, a 20-year-old who was born biologically male.
The drama that followed the decision, which made national headlines, “has disrupted my training, it has disrupted my interactions when I go out in public, and it will certainly disrupt my competition because I won’t be competing in the United States anytime soon,” she told Fox News.

A federal judge ruled Monday that two fathers cannot wear pink wristbands with two X’s — the symbol for female chromosomes — drawn on them in opposition to a transgender high school athlete on one of their daughters’ rival soccer teams.
Kyle Fellers and Anthony Foote sued administrators at Bow High School in south-central New Hampshire last year after they were banned from school property for wearing the wristbands to a match against Plymouth Regional High School, whose girls team includes a transgender player, 16-year-old Parker Tirrell. They asked a federal district court to allow them to silently wear the wristbands and display signs objecting to trans athletes in girls sports at school events.
Officials temporarily barred both men from school grounds for distributing and refusing to remove the wristbands during the Sept. 17 game between Bow and Plymouth Regional. Foote also placed a poster that read “Protect Women’s Sports for Female Athletes” on his Jeep and held the sign up in the parking lot after the game ended.

ZMan does a deep dive.
The word “apartheid” is like every emotionally charged word in the English language in that the worst people abuse it. In South Africa, it had a real meaning, as it described a real system. The word means “apart” and described a system in which the ruling white population lived apart from the black population. In modern usage, it has come to mean any race-based social system. The “apartness” is not so much physical but more of a moral distinction.
The West may need to invent some new words for the multilevel sociopolitical system that is emerging, especially in Europe. The rule of law and equality under the law are being abandoned in favor of a system that is loosely based on American concepts of social justice and social vengeance. In the United Kingdom, for example, there is now a separate set of rules for the white population. Whites, especially white males, are now to be punished more harshly than nonwhites.
This is mostly a formalization of something that has existed informally since Tony Blair flooded the country with immigrants. If a Muslim were caught rioting or raping, he could get off with a warning in front of the right judge. A native Brit, on the other hand, could expect the maximum penalty, especially if he could be accused of holding the wrong opinions about things. This is very similar to what we see in the United States, except now it is formalized in UK law.

Romania forbade Georgescu, who won last year’s presidential election, from participating in May’s re-run; Turkey, with Istanbul’s mayor; Macron’s France, with Le Pen.
In Poland, the Europhile regime of Prime Minister Tusk forces—for the first time since the dark days of communism—the opposition into exile and subjugates newspapers and TV stations through a series of brazen police raids; in Germany, the nation’s largest party, the AfD, is under the confirmed, official surveillance of the intelligence services while its legislation remains under consideration by the authorities, even after they lost the recent federal election and their popularity continues to implode; in Italy, a deputy prime minister nearly got arrested for upholding—rather than breaking—the law of the land.
In Hungary, Serbia, and Slovakia, protests—obviously sold by the mainstream media as spontaneous and innocent—erupted almost simultaneously: the targets are, of course, all governments known to be opposed to—and loathed by—the Brussels mandarinate.
Fico, in Slovakia, nearly died at the hands of a terrorist hostile to the Prime Minister’s Ukraine policy.

A new report from our group, the Network Contagion Research Institute, provides answers. Our research, based on nationally representative surveys and analyses of online activity, demonstrates the existence of online subcultures that support the murder of public figures like Trump and Musk. This “assassination culture,” incubated on social media, has migrated from the margins of public life into the mainstream.
We found that nearly one-third of Americans surveyed—and around half of those identifying as left-of-center—believe that the murder of certain public figures is at least somewhat justified. The figures are startling: 38 percent of respondents, and 55 percent of those left of center, said assassinating President Trump would be at least somewhat justified; 31 percent of respondents, and 48 percent of those left of center, said the same about Musk. Forty percent of respondents, and 58 percent of those left of center, deem it at least somewhat acceptable to “destroy a Tesla dealership” in protest.
Our report also discovered an online “assassination culture,” found in predominantly left-leaning digital spaces, such as Bluesky and Reddit. This subculture justifies and glorifies political violence. Some of these networks’ users wield the name “Luigi” or use the Luigi video game character as coded endorsements of Brian Thompson’s alleged assassin, Luigi Mangione. These users cloak explicit calls for violence in stylized memes. Many believe that political murder and sabotage are acceptable forms of protest.

Neil Young once stormed the country to sing the First Amendment’s praises.
That 2006 Freedom of Speech tour came after some said it was unpatriotic to critique the War on Terror. Young and his Crosby, Stills and Nash bandmates disagreed. They used the tour to skewer President George W. Bush, highlighted by the song, “Let’s Impeach the President.”
Subtle. And they had every right to sing it, even if they alienated longtime fans along the way.
It turns out Young’s First Amendment defense had plenty of strings attached.
Years later, Young declared war on a podcaster for sharing the “wrong” thoughts on a global pandemic. In 2021, the rocker said Joe Rogan’s contrarian COVID-19 views shouldn’t be shared on Spotify.
He even pulled his music from the platform to protest Rogan. It’s either him or me, Young argued. Spotify stuck with Rogan.
Who is much better looking, to tell the truth.
Young eventually returned his music to Spotify. Time has been kind to some of Rogan’s “problematic” pandemic views.
Meanwhile, Young said nothing about the media’s misinformation campaign tied to COVID-19. Remember how the jab would prevent the recipient from getting the virus and spreading it?
What about the six-foot rule? St. Anthony Fauci? The serial attacks on the lab leak theory?
Young stayed mum through it all, even though he was outraged by Rogan’s so-called lies.
It gets worse.

The French National Assembly has just been the scene of a serious altercation between staffers of the far-left party La France insoumise (LFI) and the right-wing investigative media outlet Frontières, in which the staffers resorted to violence as they tried to remove the reporters from the premises. On Wednesday, April 9th, parliamentary staffers from the far-left LFI party gathered at the National Assembly in protest against the publication of a major feature by the conservative magazine Frontières entitled “LFI: le parti de l’étranger” (LFI: the party of the foreigner), which highlights the party’s links with Hamas and Islamist lobbies.
Three Frontières journalists went to the site to cover the protest. When identified by the LFI protesters, tempers quickly flared and the journalists were physically attacked by parliamentary staff. Videos have since been circulating on X that show the aggression towards the three journalists—one of whom was a woman—with the involvement from Raphaël Arnault, an LFI MP who, by the way, has been placed on a watchlist by the French police as a possible national security threat..
The President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, issued a press release—placing almost all the responsibility for the violence on Frontières. The statement said nothing to condemn the actions of LFI as a blatant attack on press freedom. “Any action that could be considered as a stunt or provocation of any kind will not be tolerated. Failure to comply with these rules may result in restrictions on access to the Assembly and withdrawal of accreditation. The President of the National Assembly will ensure, in a firm and balanced manner, that they are respected. She will reiterate this in a letter to the media outlet Frontières”, the statement read.

First, an aide to President Donald Trump emails a leader of an independent agency to fire them. Then the leader sues, citing a law on the books that protects them from getting fired without cause. So the Trump administration shoots back that the law is unconstitutional. And they fight it out in court.
Legal observers following the trend think Trump is setting up a test case for the Supreme Court to revisit a 1935 decision that prevented a president from firing a member of Federal Trade Commission and paved the way for independent boards like the Federal Reserve to wield their power freely.
“I think the game is get it up to the Supreme Court,” said Thomas Berry, the director of constitutional studies at the libertarian Cato Institute. “And I think to some extent this is going to force the court’s hands.”
Among other roles, these boards set interest rates, insure bank accounts, protect children from unsafe toys, investigate airplane crashes, regulate public airwaves, enforce workplace discrimination laws, block federal workers from illegal firings, and allow workers to form unions.
So-called ‘independent agencies’ are major building blocks of the Deep State, carefully crafted so that if God forbid the Dramacrats lose the Presidency, some Republican who didn’t get the memo can’t come in and clean house.
One of Trump’s great virtues is that he doesn’t act like a politician, who would stroke his chin and consult widely before perhaps trimming an inch or two off of the Blob; he act’s like a business man, and in business the CEO can take a chainsaw to the operation and nobody can say him nay. And that’s exactly what is needed. People elected Trump to blow shit up, and that’s exactly what he’s doing, which is why all this media trash-talk isn’t affecting his popularity.

Did Hungary’s Viktor Orban start a trend? He is hosting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on a four-day trip to Budapest through Sunday. PM Orban used the occasion to declare that Hungary, an ICC founding member, will pull out of The Hague-based International Criminal Court.
The ICC slammed the move, and said that member states have an obligation to enforce its arrest warrant against Netanyahu. Interestingly, Belgium too has declared in all likelihood it would never arrest the Israeli head of state.
Prime Minister Bart De Wever on Thursday said his country would ignore a warrant for the arrest of Netanyahu, in a reversal from the stated policies of the prior government. This could lead to more and more countries declaring the same, also amid ongoing US pressure to not confirm to ICC dictates.

Not to get all Old World on you, but the Oxford Dictionary defines “lawfare” thusly: “Legal action undertaken in order to exert power or control, esp. as part of a hostile campaign against a particular country or group.”
In New World parlance? Author Malcolm Feeley in 1979 published a tome with a title that best sums up the point of lawfare: “The Process Is the Punishment.”
It’s death by a thousand cuts—of red tape. You are bled out by government.

Just when you thought Democrats couldn’t outclass themselves after Rep. Jasmine Crockett referred to Texas Gov. Abbott as “hot wheels”, here comes California to make sure you’re always entertained.
A new California ballot initiative, named after alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO killer Luigi Mangione, has been filed with the state Attorney General. It seeks to ban insurers from delaying, denying, or altering any doctor-recommended treatment that could risk serious harm, including death or permanent injury, according to KTLA.
If passed, the initiative would require that only physicians—not insurance company staff—can decide to delay, deny, or alter medical treatments. Hiring non-physicians for such reviews would become a felony.
The fact that Dramacrats make heroes of criminals comes as no surprise. The fun part is watching insurance companies exit California at flank speed if this passes. How stupid are the voters of California? Pretty stupid, it would seem–after all, the state is run by Dramacrats–but this will take it to new lows.

Illinois politicians’ latest attempt to impose their will on homeschooling began with a single tragic story of one child’s abuse. Lawmakers took that case of parental neglect and twisted it, expanded on it, and turned it into an indictment of homeschooling in general. Now they want new legislation to control it.
Homeschooling risks truancy, they say. And abuse, educational neglect and poor accountability. That’s how lawmakers are fear-mongering about Illinois’ long-standing, hands-off approach to homeschooling in an attempt to gain more power over parents and children.
But if you know anything about Illinois’ public education system, you’ll recognize the rank hypocrisy immediately. Illinois schools are full of truancy, abuse, educational neglect and poor accountability. Yet lawmakers do little to nothing about that. Instead, they’ve turned their attention towards the last form of education they don’t control.
The bill at hand, House Bill 2827, would force homeschooling parents – and private schools – to annually submit a declaration form to their local school district, with the potential penalty of fines and even jail time if parents don’t comply. Among other items, the bill also requires administrative and curriculum standards.

Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia anyone can edit, distorted the descriptions of various Cabinet nominees after President Donald Trump named them “in an attempt to highlight damaging information,” according to the Media Research Center.
All it takes is for some ‘journalist’ or ‘expert’ to publish some slur about you for it to be enshrined in your Wikipedia bio, especially if you disagree in any way with the Woke Narrative.

First, of course, they have to repeat the Narrative that the guy was barred because of saying hateful things about the President (which I suspect is a better reason to bar some left-wing academic from entry to the United States than that he posted social media thoughts unbecoming of a Wokerato).
However, Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement Thursday that “any claim that his removal was based on political beliefs is blatantly false.”
“The French researcher in question was in possession of confidential information on his electronic device from Los Alamos National Laboratory — in violation of a non-disclosure agreement — something he admitted to taking without permission and attempted to conceal,” she said.
The test will come if and when he gets sued for breaking this alleged non-disclosure agreement. In the meantime, this seems like an appropriate response.
The Narrative Media, of course, accept the Narrative without question:

Shroyer posted pictures and footage of the swatting on X.
Shroyer’s swatting is not an isolated incident – as numerous conservatives have been targeted in recent weeks with similar swattings.
“It’s been dozens of people that have been swatted. What is going on? We know what’s going on,” said Shroyer. “The Democrat Party and all of their little street thugs funded by ActBlue, the stolen money from USAID, George Soros—all these different groups are behind it. They’re behind the terror attacks against Elon Musk.”
In recent days, Bill Clinton accuser and social media influencer Juanita Broaddrick was swatted.

Within hours of Hamas’ appalling attack on Israeli civilians, the “settler colonial” paradigm inserted itself into public commentary. In this slim and approachable monograph, Kirsch leads readers into the topsy-turvy world of this academic theory. Zareena Grewal, an Associate Professor at Yale, phrased it with helpful candour on X: “Israel is a murderous, genocidal settler state and Palestinians have every right to resist through armed struggle”. How did this phrase come to be used by scholars and students in the most prestigious universities of the West to rationalise the slaughter of Jewish Israelis in their homes and at music concerts?

One Reddit user called attention to a strange-looking yacht off the coast of Milos, Greece, and a few commenters shared photos of other massive yachts they had spotted in the area.
In a yacht-focused subreddit, the user shared an image of the superyacht, which one person identified as Olivia O. The vessel measures over 290 feet long and is powered by two diesel engines.
It is indeed the Olivia O, which is somewhat famous for being the only ‘superyacht’ that has an Ulstein X-Bow, which is ordinarily used on offshore support vessels servicing oil platforms and such like.
The writer of the article doesn’t care to do the minimal research it would take to identify it, or explain why it looks that way; she just wants to use it as a hook on which to hang her Climate Change rant, which occupies the bulk of the article.
While the discussion centered around interesting yachts and sailboats users had seen near Milos, the elephant in the room is the negative impact superyachts have on the planet.
It isn’t the ‘elephant in the room’, it’s merely the elephant in her head.

To be or not to be decolonised — that is the question vexing the charity responsible for William Shakespeare’s estates, which has been plunged into controversy over the playwright’s legacy.
The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, which owns his homes and some archival material linked to his birth, has been urged to “purge” its vast collections “of Anglocentric and colonialist thought”.
After academics raised concerns that venerating the writer could promote white supremacy, the trust has agreed to “create a more inclusive museum experience”. This will involve exploring “the continued impact of empire” on its collections, how colonialism has warped perceptions of world history, and that “Shakespeare’s work has played a part in this”.
The trust, which was established in 1847, has stated that the historical materials it holds may represent “values and stereotypes that are not consistent with the current values and practices” of its organisation. It has warned those who view its manuscripts and artefacts that they “may encounter language or depictions that are racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise harmful”.

Worth reading the whole thing, but BLUF:
So the contours of the “final judgment” in this case are coming into view. Mann will be awarded $1001 against Simberg, and $5001 against Steyn. NR will be awarded $530,000 against Mann, and Simberg and Steyn will be awarded some additional tens of thousands from Mann. Mann will be in a very substantial financial hole, with the defendants having little incentive to compromise with him, and every incentive to go after his bank accounts and his house. Probably, Mann will be able to stave that off for some substantial period of time by means of appeals. Or perhaps Mann’s angel funders, who have paid for this case on his behalf and never had their identities disclosed, will pay off the judgment for him. Publicly, Mann will go forth continuing to claim that he “won” the case by virtue of the jury verdicts.
For me the most disappointing aspect of the whole case has been the total inability of the court system to deal with Mann’s fake science. As described in detail in my post from February 6, 2024, the defendants, particularly Simberg, put on substantial and indeed definitive evidence of the flawed “science” in Mann’s Hockey Stick reconstructions — manipulation of data, incorrect error bands, suppression of adverse verification statistics, and so forth. Mann did not even feel the need to put on any scientific evidence in response. His lawyer completely ignored this entire issue on their rebuttal case, and then did not even mention it in closing argument. And yet, the jury still made an award against the defendants. The whole issue of the fake science went completely over their heads.
The most fitting end to this case will be when whoever in the federal government pays for the University of Pennsylvania “climate science” centers pulls the plug on all the funding. That can’t come soon enough.

A federal court order that would have halted the immediate deportation of a Rhode Island doctor was issued Friday evening while the doctor’s departing plane sat on the tarmac at Boston Logan International Airport, said a family friend and colleague.
But the plane ultimately took off, carrying Dr. Rasha Alawieh out of the country for reasons still unclear to her family, her lawyer and Brown Medicine colleagues such as Dr. Basma Merhi.
“They did not do anything to stop the plane,” said Merhi, who was learning details of the event through information relayed by Alawieh family members. “So, clearly, they wanted to deport her regardless of if there was a judge’s order or not. She didn’t do anything wrong.”

The Illinois Board of Higher Education runs a scholarship program for graduate students that explicitly excludes white applicants, a move lawyers say is unconstitutional and could jeopardize the federal funding of more than two dozen participating universities, including Northwestern University and the University of Chicago.
The program, Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois (DFI), was established by state law in 2004 and provides financial aid to “members of traditionally underrepresented minority groups” pursuing masters or doctoral degrees. Those groups include “African American, Hispanic American, Native American, Asian American, Alaskan Native, and Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander,” according to the program’s landing page.
Students apply to the program through their universities, each of which has an “institutional representative” who helps “verify … that applicants for the fellowship meet all eligibility criteria.” That structure means that participating institutions, which include the top public and private universities in the state, are directly involved in an application process that violates federal law, according to five attorneys who reviewed the program requirements.
“This isn’t a hard one,” said Gail Heriot, a law professor at the University of San Diego and a commissioner on the U.S Commission on Civil Rights. “The program was illegal and unconstitutional since its inception.”

Bob Graboyes writes about what he calls “Trump-et blasts” – that is, gratuitous anti-Trump statements in emails on a wide variety of unrelated subjects:
My friend’s note was merely one car in an endless freight train of similar emails rolling and rumbling into my inbox each day. In them, one can discern empirical regularities. Trump-et Blasts are never offered as hypotheses, opinions, or topics for discussion. Rather, they are always stated as Euclidean postulates—self-evident Truths that we surely agree upon and which warrant no discussion. Recipients of Trump-et Blasts have five possible Supreme Court-like responses: affirm, ignore, concur, dissent, or defer.
I’ve noticed these Trump-et blasts more in conversation than in emails to me, probably because almost everyone I know is aware of my politics and doesn’t bother with the random snipes in emails. It’s in casual talking that it comes out, especially if I’m part of a group. In a group, even if people know I disagree, they’re not catering to me. And why should they, actually? Often, it’s a group bonding experience, a sharing of what is considered tautological and the mark of their agreed-on virtue. I’m grandfathered into the group, as it were.
Much like Cato ending every Roman Senate speech with “And also I think that Carthage must be destroyed.” … which worked.

Equality before the law (the only form of equality worth entertaining) has long been a bad joke in Britain. Whether it’s Jews interfering with the latest jihad march by looking ‘openly Jewish,’ fathers arrested for objecting to the multicultural gang rape of their daughters, or the policing disparity between the BLM and Brexit, COVID, and Tommy Robinson marches, anyone with a pulse realises that the likelihood of getting your collar felt in 2025 rests largely on your ability to identify as anything other than a white male.
Up till now, the powers that be have at least pretended this is something they do not approve of. Even as he emptied the prisons of rapists and murderers to make room for native Brits who tweeted things he disapproves of, Keir Starmer told us categorically: “There is no two-tier policing. There is policing without fear or favour—exactly as it should be, exactly what I would expect and require.”
We all enjoy a giggle now and then, which is presumably why The Sentencing Council for England and Wales has chosen April 1st to enact its overhaul of the sentencing guidelines—the principles that magistrates and judges must follow when imposing community orders and custodial sentences.

Recently, after the speech of Vice President J.D. Vance in Munich, various European leaders went public to express their shock and disbelief that they would be accused of rolling back on free speech. For many of us, it was a laughable display of denial, particularly from UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
In a country that has eviscerated free speech, Starmer told Bret Baier that the UK “guards” free speech and “we don’t believe in censoring speech.”
Now, the government is continuing this month with its effort to regulate and criminalize speech.
The effort to crack down on “Islamophobia” could create a type of blasphemy standard if it encompasses criticism of the faith or its practices.
The Left loves to tag things they don’t like with the ‘-phobia’ sticker, suggesting that rational concern with degenerative cultural trends are somehow arbitrary and irrational. ‘Islamophobia’ is a very popular one that seeks to exclude from the Overton Window the very rational aversion to the existential threat to Western civilization that Muslim terrorism has posed for hundreds of years.

A Wisconsin school district on Friday agreed to pay out $20,000 to a teacher who was terminated for refusing to use preferred names and pronouns for transgender students.
Jordan Cernek, an English teacher, sued the Argyle School District in July 2024 after his contract was not renewed, alleging the district violated his right to free exercise of his religion and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
“Mr. Cernek has a sincerely held religious belief that God makes no mistakes when it comes to sex and gender and that calling a transgender student by a name or pronouns at odds with their biological sex would cause Mr. Cernek to affirm that God made a mistake in creating a transgender person as a male or a female,” the lawsuit filed by the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty stated. “In Mr. Cernek’s religious view, affirming a transgender person’s identity through the use of preferred names and pronouns would be speaking a falsehood and violate his religious beliefs.”

The Guardian, a Voice of the Crust,
A natalist conference featuring speakers including self-described eugenicists and promoters of race science, apparently including the man behind a previously pseudonymous race-science influencer account, and the founder of a startup offering IQ screening for IVF embryos, will be held at a hotel and conference venue operated by the public University of Texas, Austin.
Details of the conference have emerged as a prominent supporter of pro-natalist positions, the tech billionaire Elon Musk, lays waste US government agencies under the banner of his “Doge” initiative, with the blessing of Donald Trump.
Natalism in its current often rightwing iteration encourages high birth rates, and Musk has been a vocal proponent. He also maintains a large compound home near Austin, where reportedly he plans to house some of his children and two of their mothers.
The implication, of course, is that ‘natalists’, ‘race-science promoters’, and ‘eugenecists’ are part of the Axis Of Evil that all politicaily correct people disdain. Proglodytes have always been disgusted by people having children, from the ‘population crisis’ that was going to bring us to Malthusian hellscape (before the numbers showed that, actually, the population was stabilizing) to the Wokerati who ‘refuse to bring a child into this world’ in order to Save The Planet.
Proglodytes are congenitally seething with arrogance. They are conviced that, of anything bad happens in the world, it is because of Bad People (other than themselves of course; you know, Other People, Ignorant People), and that if anything good will ever happen it will happen it will depend on the efforts of Good People (like themselves). They forget that the natural world is HUGE and people just don’t count for all that much — we’re just another species, and reality has been dealing with species for billions of years and really doesn’t need our help ,,, but thanks for playing.
(FOLLOW THE SCIENCE! except when it’s race science….)

Two of Sen. John Fetterman’s longest-serving staff members are leaving his team as the senator takes a more open approach to President Donald Trump than many of his Democratic colleagues are.
Charlie Hills, Fetterman’s communications director, and Tré Easton, his legislative director, are set to soon depart the Pennsylvania Democrat’s office.
Both men worked on Fetterman’s 2022 campaign and have been with him during his two-year Senate career.
“Working for John afforded me the opportunity to build a diligent policy team from scratch,” Easton said in a statement to NBC News. “Together we created a legislative body of work that I think is a blueprint for how Democrats should be governing when they have power. I’ll forever be grateful.”
The departures come one month after Carrie Adams left as Fetterman’s communications director. She had garnered attention when she was quoted in a Free Press article disagreeing with the senator on Israel and the war in Gaza. That followed Fetterman losing three of his top communications staffers last March, before his chief-of-staff, Adam Jentleson, stepped down.
The senator’s office did not respond to a request for comment.

Zman examines the Narrative Media.
For a long time now, there have been people on this side of the great divide arguing that the real source of power in American society is the media. The media has power because they control the moral framework and the discourse within it. If the media declares a set of facts unacceptable, then no one talks about them, unless they have a desire to be hurled into the void. The media controls what is allowed to be said, so they control how things are done and by whom.
On the surface, this was true, and it was always true to some degree. A popular political quip from the analog days was that “You should never pick fights with people who buy ink by the barrel.” If the New York Times decided to declare a fatwah on you, there was a very good chance you were going to lose. This was why so-called conservatives and Republicans would crawl on their bellies to talk with the press, even though the media treated them as the official punching bag.
The model for this was Watergate. If not for media pressure, the political class would not have done anything about Nixon. The reason for that is they had no reason to hate Nixon, even if they disagreed with him. It was the media that made Nixon into a villain and then demanded the political class do something. Congress did not force Nixon out of office because they hated him or they believed he violated the rules of politics, but because they feared the media.

Last month, I received a tip from a nursing student at University of Alberta who’d been required to take a course called Indigenous Health in Canada. It’s a “worthwhile subject,” my correspondent (correctly) noted, “but it won’t surprise you to learn [that the course consists of] four months of self-flagellation led by a white woman. One of our assignments, worth 30 percent, is a land acknowledgement, and instructions include to ‘commit to concrete actions to disrupt settler colonialism’… This feels like a religious ritual to me.”
Canadian universities are now full of courses like this—which are supposed to teach students about Indigenous issues, but instead consist of little more than ideologically programmed call-and-response sessions. As I wrote on social media, this University of Alberta course offers a particularly appalling specimen of the genre, especially in regard to the instructor’s use of repetitive academic jargon, and the explicit blurring of boundaries between legitimate academic instruction and cultish struggle session.
One of the most tedious aspects of The New Puritanism is that you must confess your sins before you will be allowed redemption, and “I have no sins to confess” is not an acceptable answer.
