On Friday’s All Things Considered, National Public Radio reported on Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s growing scandals, and as they discussed Lindsey Boylan’s charges of sexual harassment, reporter Sally Herships noted Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s office gave her the “No comment” treatment. This is the same Gillibrand that drove Sen. Al Franken out of office on sexual harassment charges.
When it came to Franken, Gillibrand on Facebook that he had to go: “I believe it would be better for our country if he sent a clear message that any kind of mistreatment of women in our society isn’t acceptable by stepping aside to let someone else serve.”

Customers have noticed that “Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words,” a documentary on the renowned supreme court justice, is no longer available for streaming on Amazon Prime.
To celebrate Black History, Amazon created a page called “Amplify Black Voices,” which “features a curated collection of titles to honor Black History Month across four weekly themes (Black Love, Black Joy, Black History Makers, and Black Girl Magic).”
On Amazon Prime, the company added multiple films, including docu-dramas and documentaries on the country’s first black supreme court justice, Thurgood Marshall. The site even added two films about Anita Hill, the woman who made claims that Thomas sexually harassed her.
But Thomas’s documentary has been removed in all regions.
Bias? What bias?

Michael Powell’s New York Times story on the Smith College nightmare provides a useful summary of the events. Powell’s story also links to the 35-page report commissioned by the college. The madness at the heart of the story has engulfed our country and our culture, as we saw in the riots of this past summer.
Tucker Carlson reviewed the Smith College story in a 12-minute segment of his FOX News show last night. FOX News has posted the text here. I have lifted the video from the Tucker Carlson Tonight Facebook page and embedded it below. It brings the story to life.

Misleading claims shared by prominent conservatives that wind turbines caused massive winter storm power outages in Texas whipped through Facebook without fact-checking labels, racking up millions of views, according to a new report shared exclusively with USA TODAY.
Human rights group Avaaz says the 10 top-performing posts about wind turbine failures from public figures such as Fox News personalities Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee received more than 15.8 million views on Facebook.
As of Tuesday, none of the posts had a fact-checking label, including those reviewed by Facebook’s fact-checking partners.
Apparently Facebook isn’t Woke enough for Some People.

Up to now, the coveted title of “Worst College President in America” belonged without question to George Bridges of Evergreen State College in Washington, as we noted here back in 2018. But a new challenger has arisen, and has wrested the title from Bridges: Kathleen McCartney of Smith College.
We wrote here last week (in “The Disgrace of Smith College“) about the case of Jodi Shaw, the Smith College staff member hounded out of Smith because she dared to challenge the blatantly racist so-called ideology of “anti-racism” that is rampant on campuses everywhere. McCartney responded with a public letter disputing Shaw, but without rebutting any of the substantive claims Shaw made—a classic “non-denial-denial.”

Hoover Institution fellows Scott Atlas, Niall Ferguson, and Victor Davis Hanson were the subject of diatribes in a recent meeting of the Stanford Faculty Senate. The four professors who disparaged them (Joshua Landy, Stephen Monismith, David Palumbo-Liu and David Spiegel) “then subsequently published a farrago of falsehoods directed against various fellows of the Hoover Institution:
Their complaint was, first, that the Hoover fellows’ views were unapologetically conservative and, second, that they appeared antithetical to the majority of those of the Stanford community—and were therefore properly subject to some sort of institutional and personal censure.

Yes, that is a ridiculous headline. And yet, as we noted here last week, what does it tell us about the present condition of America that the president of France, Emanuel Macron, has a better grasp of perversity and danger of our “woke” culture than the President of the United States?
