Twice in recent days, MSNBC reporter Jacob Soboroff downplayed the criminal record of an illegal alien a week after he flipped out because federal agents arrested him at a Chicago bakery while he was having coffee.
On October 7, Soboroff first brought the story to MSNBC during Chris Jansing Reports as he interviewed a witness to the arrest. As he played video of agents parked outside the bakery and chasing the men inside, the MSNBC reporter tried to portray the Trump administration as being dishonest about whom they are arresting.

n what will hopefully be the first of many welcome changes at CBS News in this Bari Weiss era, senior vice president for standards and practices Claudia Milne announced Thursday she would be leaving the company after having played leading roles in what our friends at the New York Post noted were “some of the network’s recent controversial, woke reporting” in recent years.
For reference, the Post’s indefatigable media reporter Alexandra Steigrad explained the standards and practices unit at news organizations are “responsible for the moral, ethical and legal implications of CBS programming,” so her departure marked the “the first senior executive to leave the network since Weiss” was named editor-in-chief on October 6.
Steigard, as always, came armed with sources. She found one who said Milne “was part of the woke mob at CBS News” and thus “Bari’s first scalp” as she seeks to move CBS back towards the center.

Fifteen journalists have agreed to the Department of War’s new press policy, according to a document obtained by The Washington Post.
The department had set a Tuesday deadline for news outlets to sign a new Pentagon access policy or lose access to press credentials and Pentagon workspaces.
At least 30 news organizations, including Reuters and Newsmax, declined to sign the new policy, citing a threat to press freedoms and their ability to conduct independent newsgathering on the world’s most powerful military.
The last thing the “world’s most powerful military” ought to do is let “independent newsgatherers” anywhere near their facilities. One of the least effortful ways of gathering intelligence on one’s enemies is simply reading the product of “independent newsgatherers” who just can’t wait to show everybody how in-the-know they are, no matter whether or not it damages national security.
Reporters who signed the document include those who work for The Federalist, The Epoch Times, and One America News.
“After thorough review of the revised press policy by our attorney, OAN staff has signed the document,” Charles Herring, the company’s president, said in a statement.
Federalist CEO Sean Davis and Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway said on social media they found no new restrictions on the ability of journalists to report on or criticize the government.
“If the new guidelines result in fewer professional con artists and media hoaxers roaming the halls looking for new lies to peddle, so be it,” they said.
And that says it all.

Episcopalians? Are they still around?
Despite overseeing a denomination that’s been cratering in support for its far-left views, celebration of genital mutilation, and downplaying the Word of God (among other things, making its Christian bona fides questionable), Episcopalian Bishop Marianne Edgar Budde was heralded on Thursday’s CBS Mornings for her new young adults book about bravery and her January scolding of President Trump at an inaugural interfaith service.
And, to make it even more palatable for the liberal hosts and viewers, Budde never mentioned God, His Son Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, or any character in the Bible as examples of bravery. Rather, Budde and the co-hosts focused on her selections of Martin Luther King Jr. and Harry Potter.
“Episcopal Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde was brave enough to tell President Trump to welcome refugees to America. She’ll tell us why she is bringing that lesson of bravery to kids in a new book,” gushed featured co-host Vladimir Duthiers in one of two teases.
Of course, the interview itself began with the snippet of her homily ripping into the President from the National Cathedral pulpit as xenophobic.

Just hours after 20 Israeli hostages were released from captivity, after being held by the terrorist organization Hamas for 738 days, an event made possible by Donald Trump’s peace plan, CNN’s NewsNight with Abby Phillip featured Dr. Cornel West justifying the existence of Hamas, claiming that Palestinians in Gaza were under occupation, and comparing them to the Jews of Poland, and those who suffered as slaves in this country, and going after Donald Trump.
Phillip began the questioning with Washington Post columnist Josh Rogan, who expressed doubt about the likelihood that the the rest of Trump’s plan would be implemented, but acknowledged that it was a day for celebration: “What we can say it was a good day because today the guns went silent.” Next, Phillip turned to West, who in the past, on her very show, has compared the plight of the Palestinians to slavery in the United States, and has falsely claimed that Gaza was occupied by Israel prior to October 7th.
Phillip began with a ridiculous question about Trump, prefaced with her liberal point of view: “And look, everybody knows that Trump loves credit, but is it fair in your mind for more people on the left to actually give him credit for this? To acknowledge that, that perhaps he was the difference maker in this particular deal?” Then West went on his rant.
Cornel West is pretty much the poster child for Affirmative Action Hire.

On Monday night’s The 11th Hour, MSNBC’s very own Jason Johnson made the incredibly logical conclusion that everyone who was not in favor of fascism should be grouped under the same label as those who cause violent riots in the name of Antifa. This was in reaction to the Trump administration’s recent actions taken against the terrorist network.
Of course, Stephanie Ruhle’s stand-in, Antonia Hylton, couldn’t start without first minimizing the significance of the riotous clan: “It’s worth reminding viewers that Trump designated Antifa, which is not an actual organization, as a domestic terrorist group with an Executive Order…”
It’s atypical, shapeless (not formless), and hides amongst the shadows in-between incursions. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

On Monday and Tuesday, brutal footage emerged of Hamas terrorists carrying out public executions of those they claim were disloyal and “collaborators with Israel,” just hours after the ceasefire went into effect as part of President Trump’s historic regional peace deal. Between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, ABC completely omitted this disturbing turn from their flagship evening and morning newscasts.
Instead, chief foreign correspondent Ian Pannell eagerly peddled Hamas propaganda hook, line, and sinker.
Pannell declared on Tuesday’s World News Tonight that “[i]n Gaza, some of the nearly 2,000 prisoners taken by Israel and held without charge also reporting abuse.”
He then used video taped inside Gaza (likely from a local producer) of a man “detained for 20 months saying he was told his family had been killed. It was a lie.
“‘I was released, not knowing if my family was alive. It was a beautiful feeling to find them,’ he says…[T]his dispute about Hamas disarming and the return of bodies underscores how immense the challenges ahead are, but President Trump clear he wants a wider Middle East peace and that means solving Gaza once and for all,” he added.

The New York Times scrambled to run cover for leftist billionaire George Soros after a groundbreaking report exposing his pro-terrorism funding served as the pretext for the Justice Department launching an investigation into his Open Society Foundations (OSF).
The Times tried October 10 to attack the Capital Research Center’s investigative report showing that Soros had funneled at least $80 million into “groups tied to terrorism or extremist violence” both in the U.S. and abroad. The headline: “Report on Soros Cited by Justice Dept. Does Not Show Funding for Terrorism.”
One heavily Soros-funded group, Al-Haq, is “a nongovernmental organization (NGO) based in the West Bank” that has been “long accused of ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which the European Union and the United States designate as a foreign terrorist organization.” But The Times picked an obvious strawman and went to town with it by claiming the report “does not show evidence that Mr. Soros’s network knowingly paid for its grantees to break the law, which legal experts said would be necessary to build a criminal case.”

As President Trump himself articulated on Monday in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, the legacy, liberal media have been surprisingly respectful and tonally correct in expressing admiration for the peace deal between Israel and Hamas and capturing the emotion from Israelis as the 20 living hostages reunited with their families.
But in the middle of the night here in the U.S., one NBC international correspondent celebrated the Palestinian prisoners being released as “hostages” because some were merely “minors, doctors, nurses, journalists who have never been charged” but jailed by Israel under “administrative detention.”

For those of you wondering how CNN’s brand has fallen so deep into the toilet, the strange attitudes divorced from reality of many who work at that network might offer one of the significant reasons.
An example comes in the form of CNN’s Science and Wellness writer, Madeline Holcombe, who wrote an overlong boring rant about her neurotic hangup with the ‘male gaze’ on Saturday, “After years of progress on gender, the male gaze is back.”
The “male gaze” is back? If you even knew it ever existed as a major problem in the first place, then YOU are probably the one with the problem for even noticing. And one who has definitely noticed and can’t stop thinking about it is Holcombe who one could argue causes the male (and female) glaze — as in their eyes glazing over in utter boredom while attempting to read a rant that seems like entering an unending wormhole into an alternate universe obsessively concerned about something that never appears as a problem on the radar screens of normal people.

nother Sunday has passed, and with it another cycle of omissive bias from the major legacy media political affairs shows. Two major political stories went undiscussed- both the ongoing fallout over the Jay Jones text scandal currently roiling the Virginia gubernatorial election, and the arrest of the Red Mass bomber exactly one week ago.
With regard to Jay Jones, the only Sunday show mention remains former Pence Chief of Staff Marc Short on the 10/5 broadcast of NBC’s Meet the Press. And this is an instance where he forced it on to the panel discussion, rather than something produced as a standalone segment on the show.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is a Democrat who was elected on her promise to prosecute “illegitimate” President Donald Trump. In other words, she was a super-charged partisan. In the breaking-news article online, you can see the D in paragraph 4, which begins: “In a statement, Ms. James, a Democrat who had won a civil case against Mr. Trump accusing him of fraudulently inflating the value of his assets…” But in the On Dead Tree version, it’s not there. How bizarre.

Establishment media puppets that align with the Deep State interests have received coordinated messaging directives this past week, scripted talking points designed to advance ongoing informational warfare against the American public to obscure or downplay the very existence and activities of radical left group Antifa, which has been formally designated a domestic terrorist organization due to its repeated attacks on federal personnel, facilities, and other government assets.
“New talking point directive just issued,” journalist Tom Elliott wrote on X, accompanying a montage video showing leftist media puppets, from Jimmy Kimmel to Whoopi Goldberg, reading from what appears to be identical scripts in a coordinated misinformation and disinformation campaign. By now, the American people view the MSM not as news organizations but as a massive PR arm serving the interests of Deep State operatives.

The shrill liberal shriekers of ABC’s The View have long been supporters of far-left rage monster and congresswoman, Katie Porter (D-CA). So it was no surprise that, during Thursday’s show, a majority of the co-hosts had her back during her run for governor even as she hemorrhaged support after a series of videos showed her abusing staff and a journalist. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg, along with co-hosts Joy Behar and Ana Navarro, tried to save Porter’s campaign with a tourniquet of excuses ranging from being human to menopause to just being plain “smarter” than everybody else.
After playing a clip of Porter near the top of the show scream at a staffer to “get out of my f[bleeping] shot,” Goldberg tried to blunt the audiences shocked reaction by singing a line from the musical Hamilton: “I’m not giving away my shot, shot, shot!”
“Maybe she’s having a menopausal moment,” Behar chimed in defense.

What in the Benjamin C. Bradlee is going on with The Washington Post editorial board? After shocking the internet by conceding that Obamacare was really just an expensive mess, the newspaper seems to have red-pilled itself hard again.
The Post once again tackled the ongoing political standoff between the GOP and Democrats over the Schumer shutdown, surprisingly chastising liberal lawmakers for being stubborn by continuingly voting down the Republican clean continuing resolution (CR). Then came a jaw-dropping admission from the liberal newspaper: “The government is too big. There is plenty of fat to cut.” But the newspaper even took it a step further: “If the last week has shown anything, it’s that the federal bureaucracy performs too many ‘nonessential’ tasks that do not have a direct bearing on the lives of most citizens.”
Can pigs fly? Are we living in a parallel universe? Are chimpanzees dropping in from the cosmos? The Left will cry “state-run media.” Finding this kind of hot take within the pages of one of the most anti-Trump newspapers in circulation is like finding a real conservative on the Nicolle Wallace show.
Of course, The Post played both sides by caveating its nod to libertarian economics: “At the same time, the government also performs many critical functions.” However, the newspaper’s open rebuke of the Democrats’ incorrigible grandstanding over Obamacare subsidies is a sight worthy of beholding.

Democrats and media outlets were quick to blame climate change and oil companies for the devastating Palisades Fire that ravaged Los Angeles earlier this year. But that narrative crumbled on Wednesday when federal law enforcement officials charged a man for deliberately starting the fire.
Federal prosecutors in California charged Jonathan Rinderknecht with one count of destruction of property by means of fire, a charge that carries a maximum time of 20 years in federal prison. “While we cannot bring back what victims lost, we hope this criminal case brings some measure of justice to those affected by this horrific tragedy,” said acting U.S. attorney Bill Essayli.
The charge—which Essayli said was informed by witness statements, video surveillance, cell phone data, and an analysis of fire dynamics conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives—cuts against the narrative prominent Democratic lawmakers and media outlets pushed following the tragic event.

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel found a strange, new respect for Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a woman he has frequently dubbed “Klan Mom,” on his Tuesday show as he claimed a recent tweet from Greene proved his point that Republicans are lying about health care amid the government shutdown.
Kimmel claimed, “The reason the Democrats refuse to sign this budget agreement is because it will cause millions of Americans to lose their health care. Republicans deny this.”
What Greene omitted and Kimmel continues to omit is that the Obamacare subsidies being discussed removed the cap that limited recipients to those making 400 percent of the federal poverty level for what was supposed to be a temporary COVID relief measure. That means that even if the subsidies were to expire, a family of two making $84,600 could still be eligible. Meanwhile, while Kimmel is trying to say he is right because even Greene agrees with him, Greene is also the same congresswoman who made dire predictions that turned out to be false about what would happen if the U.S. involved itself in the Israel-Iran War back in June.

We at the Media Research Center have long argued that one of the most insidious forms of media bias is bias by omission: the exclusion of stories, or of key items within stories, that run counter to the ongoing media narrative. We cover those omissions as they happen, but they are usually limited to one high-profile story. But last night’s legacy evening news omitted THREE major items.
We begin with Virginia Democrat Attorney General candidate Jay Jones, and the media’s ongoing omission of his murderous text messages that have rocked that state’s gubernatorial election, which the national media usually look to and cover as a midterm bellwether. Our own Geoff Dickens has tabulated the scant coverage these texts have received and has rightly noted that “If Jay Jones were a Republican, he’d probably be a household name by now.” To date, no major Democrat has broken from Jones over these violent texts, most notably among these Senator Tim Kaine. Neither the texts, nor revelations that Jones was busted for driving 116 miles per hour, nor reports that he reported time spent at his PAC as court-ordered community service, nor his just-revealed alleged pining for police deaths, disqualifying for a Republican, drew any significant media scrutiny.
In other news, CIA Director John Ratcliffe declassified and published an explosive report that further clarifies the extent to which then-Vice President Joe Biden engaged in corrupt practices related to his oversight of matters pertaining to Ukraine.

Comedy Central’s Tuesday version of The Daily Show ended on a somber note as host-of-the-week Josh Johnson welcomed the founder and executive director of Black Girl Environmentalist, Wawa Gatheru, to the program to lament that under the Trump Administration, left-wing environmental groups are no longer being bankrolled by the federal government.
A solemn Johnson wondered, “There is all of this climate work that needs to be done and you would think that your greatest ally would be the government and the country. But unfortunately, we, you know, are here. And so, what do you do when you not only don’t have support, but there is active hostility towards climate science or climate activists?”

Last week, I wrote about the left’s playbook of projection and deflection, wherein they ascribe their own sins unto their victims. This week, let us examine how the left tries to advance its radical agenda by redefining words and standards.
Today’s case study: free speech.
While the First Amendment of the United States Constitution recognizes and protects the God-given right to free speech, there has always been a reasonable, popular consensus that there exists material not suitable for young, impressionable children and that, alternatively, for adult consumption, cannot be banned. The left is endeavoring to rend this consensus.
Presently, the left equates the removal of age-inappropriate materials that sexualize children from public schools as “censorship.” As readers of last week’s article will recognize, such is a deflection and a projection from the fact the left has for years been banning, eliminating, and re-editing all manner of media, usually by “dead white European males” (though certainly not exclusively), from curricula for being contrary to the dictates of their “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (DEI) secular religion.
While one might expect leftists to recognize their own mendacity and hypocrisy, one would be sorely mistaken.

Amid several attempts across the nation by left-wing extremists to kill Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, CBS News Sunday Morning appeared to blame the actions of ICE for the attacks. CBS alluded to ICE being the source of the violence, twisted the story of a young illegal immigrant, and talked for a former ICE attorney all to allude to a false fact that ICE deserved the attempts to kill their agents. The reporter behind the segment even suggested it was a “David versus Goliath” fight.
“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE, is now effectively the highest-funded federal law enforcement agency in the nation. Some have cheered its growth. Others are wondering, when does more become too much?” chided host Jane Pauley as she introduced the segment which was delivered by correspondent Lee Cowan.
Though not explicitly calling it such, Cowan’s report essentially consisted of listing out the purported transgressions that caused ICE agents to deserve the attempts on their lives, even blaming them for the violence brought against them, and accusing them of racism.

Newsbusters.
Hold on to your britches because you’re not going to believe this one. The Washington Post Editorial Board just admitted that the so-called “Affordable Care Act,” one the most notorious pieces of Obama-era legislation foisted upon consumers by legislators and the liberal media as the saving grace of American health care, turned out to be an expensive mess.
The Post tried to play both sides of the fence in the ongoing government shutdown stand off with Republicans and Democrats, the latter of which demanded “Republicans agree to extend the Covid-era insurance subsidies without proposing any way to pay for it.” Then The Post ran one of the biggest plot twists ever to hit American politics in the last 15 years.
“The real problem is that the Affordable Care Act [Obamacare] was never actually affordable.” Nope, your eyes didn’t deceive you. The architects of former President Barack Obama’s 2010 “signature achievement,” wrote The Post, “assumed that risk pools would be bigger than they turned out to be. As a result, policies cost more than expected.”
