Several days ago, National Review ran a news item about the rise in anti-Semitism in the tri-state area. It had this bizarre quality of trying to give both sides of the situation, but here’s the problem: on one side of the “issue” are Jews getting massacred and on the other, people who call those same Jews “locusts.” The piece intended to give “context” to the rise in tensions, but it operated under a false pretense: there is no excuse for anti-Semitism, Jews are not to blame for Jew-hatred.
It’s articles like this that have attracted to National Review the title of ‘cuck central’ and the reputation of being a me-too site for progressive ideology. They have taken to leaning over so far backward to avoid being lumped with Those Bad Right-Wingers that the wind up being semi-Left (at best).
ZMan develops this theme in almost every article he writes, as you will have noticed if you read his blog (which you ought to be doing).

Late Tuesday, MSNBC made sure to express their anger and disappointment with not only CNN, the Des Moines Register, and the moderators, but all six 2020 Democratic presidential candidates for skipping over newly-released impeached documents from Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas and refusing to make it the focus of the debate. Awhile into the airing of grievances, lyin’ Brian Williams interjected to rule that it wasn’t meant to be a slight. But like he did when lying about his reporting on Iraq and Hurricane Katrina, his claim didn’t hold water.

At Power Line, we sometimes refer to the Washington Post as an adjunct of the Democratic Party. To an even greater degree, the Post is an adjunct of official Washington — the cadre of career bureaucrats and former officials who consider it their God given right to set policy, regardless of what elected officials desire. (There is, of course, considerable overlap between official Washington and the Democratic Party).
Thus, it’s not surprising that a few minutes after I read Steve’s post called “Trump’s sin: Conducting foreign policy without permission,” I read this Washington Post story called “Trump is short on advisers, allies as he faces Iran crisis.” In this article, the Post argues, in essence, that Trump is committing the sin of conducting foreign policy without permission.

John Hinderaker has some fun.
As you undoubtedly know, the Babylon Bee is America’s leading satire site. It gently mocks contemporary leftism, something that leftists can’t abide. Humor is, after all, a powerful tool. So the Left–specifically, the Democratic Party–is out to get the Bee. That’s not funny!
I must confess that I sometimes can’t tell whether a Babylon Bee article is real or satire. The Left is just that crazy sometimes.

Voices of the Crust like The New Yorker love this kind of story. What they don’t tell you (and maybe are too dim to figure out) is that these people could ‘pay higher taxes’ at any moment just by writing a check to the Treasury. So what’s with the push for higher taxes? They want to raise tax rates to levels that wouldn’t pinch them at all but would leave the rest of us rubes very poor indeed, then we wouldn’t compete with the ultra-wealthy for things like New York apartments or seats in popular restaurants or the other things that wealthy people like to do but don’t want to compete with the lower orders for.
(The reason Warren Buffet pays a lower tax rate than his secretary is because she pays taxes on her wages, which are taxed as ‘ordinary income’; Warren Buffet doesn’t have any ‘ordinary income’ because he doesn’t work for wages. His money comes from selling stock for capital gains, which are taxed at a lower rate for very good reasons, to encourage people to invest their money rather than just spending it.)

On Friday, former Vice President Joe Biden vowed to not comply with any subpoena to testify in the Senate’s impeachment trial of President Trump. Such an action could be classified as obstruction of Congress, the same thing Trump was being impeached for. Biden began to backpedal over the weekend and he was aided in that effort by ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Sunday Today. Both used Biden’s “promise” to appoint former President Barack Obama to the Supreme Court as a smokescreen.
The Crust takes care of its own.

Apparently CNN’s stance is that illegal immigration is good, and that the correct way to refer to illegal immigrants is, “Latinos.” That’s according to a report about ICE raids that ran on Monday’s CNN Newsroom during the 9:00 a.m. ET hour, in which the network failed to use the term “undocumented” even a single time.

Maggie Haberman, the esteemed New York Times reporter, recently tweeted out a Mother Jones article to 1.2 million followers. It was titled: “GOP-Led Voter Purges in Wisconsin and Georgia Could Tip 2020 Elections.”
The chilling piece warns readers that “hundreds of thousands of voters are set to be purged in two key swing states,” which “potentially” gives Republicans “a crucial advantage by shrinking the electorate” in those states.
None of this, of course, is true. Cynical pieces of this genre, an election-time tradition at this point, only allow Democrats to warn of widespread disenfranchisement and preemptively give aggrieved Democrats such as Stacey Abrams a baked-in excuse for losing elections and smearing Republicans.
