‘Non-Violent Dangers,’ or ‘Their Violence Is Speech; Our Speech Is Violence’

1st February 2022

Read it.

against police officers, no lootings of businesses, no arsonist fires, no destruction of police stations … all of which were well-represented in 2020 riots corporate media labeled mostly peaceful. This has been a source of frustration to the corporate media. Disappointed by the lack of real violence in the trucker protest, leftists have resorted to the “McAuliffe Maneuver” of sending activists to discredit the movement through white supremacist cosplay.

The Washington Post published an editorial cartoon bizarrely equating a working-class protest against authoritarian Government as “fascism.” But still, the truckers have persisted in remaining nonviolent. According to the Toronto Globe and Mail, the mere presence of truckers who could potentially hold the wrong opinions is traumatizing to the sort of people who are perpetually traumatized.

Although some of her wording was strange, the break itself isn’t the real story. It’s her doubling down in the face of two denials by the court, including one by the Chief Justice. Deaths Among the “Unvaccinated”

23rd January 2022

Read it.

It’s become clear over the past few months that one of the key strategies for hiding the deadly adverse effects of the COVID-19 “vaccines” is the use of the official definition of “unvaccinated”. A patient who is injected with the experimental mRNA treatment is considered “unvaccinated” until fifteen days have passed since his second jab. Some of the most severe reactions to the vax — including those resulting in death — occur within two weeks, so those serious adverse effects are conveniently being recorded as occurring among the “unvaccinated”. Those who experience adverse reactions to the vax often show symptoms that resemble those of Corona, so that deaths among the recently “vaccinated” are sometimes reported as “unvaccinated patients who died of Covid”.

CNN: ‘Disgraced, a National Punchline’

16th January 2022

The Other McCain lets it rip.

CNN has lost 90% of its audience since Donald Trump left the White House, a predictable consequence of Jeff Zucker’s decision to go all-in on anti-Trump programming.

It is difficult to explain, and impossible to exaggerate, just how far CNN has fallen. In October, it was noted that CNN’s Reliable Sources program with Brian Stelter attracted only 85,000 viewers ages 25-54 (the so-called “demo” on which advertising rates are based), which was lower than re-runs on other cable networks of Friends, Golden Girls and Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and even lower than the cartoons Paw Patrol and Spongebob Squarepants. In a nation of 325 million people, a demo audience of 85,000 is microscopic; Stelter is irrelevant, an asterisk in the ratings.

CNN, Tapper Finally Discover ‘Misleading’ COVID Hospitalization Numbers

10th January 2022

Read it.

For nearly two years, and with the midterm election coming up, conservatives and Republicans were vilified as conspiracy theorists for raising questions about COVID hospitalization numbers when it came to who was there because of COVID and who just happened to be infected. On Monday, CNN and anchor Jake Tapper finally arrived at the scene to ask the obvious questions after CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky admitted to Fox News that number is inflated by upwards of 40 percent.

Tapper prefaced his late revelation by prefacing to CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta that “the case numbers aren’t really a significant as hospitalizations because what’s important is how sick people are getting.”

And since CNN had obfuscated the idea that the CDC was misleading people, Tapper had to spell out what was going on.

SURPRISE!

Traffic Jam Is Glenn Youngkin’s Fault

6th January 2022

Read it.

The first rule of politics is to blame your enemies for anything bad that happens in the world. So when Interstate 95 was locked in a weather-related traffic jam for 15 hours, progressives were quick to blame it on newly elected governor Glenn Youngkin.

Certainly, the traffic could not have been the fault of Youngkin’s Democratic predecessors, who spent billions of dollars on transit projects while neglecting Virginia’s highway system (except where they could charge tolls to help pay for transit). It has to be Youngkin’s fault for not doing something about the roads during all the time he has been in the governor’s office so far.

What’s that you say? He isn’t in the governor’s office? He won’t be inaugurated until January 15? Well, it still has to be his fault somehow.

Do We Need a January 6 News Glut?

5th January 2022

Read it.

On the cusp of an absolute glut of liberal-media anniversary coverage of the January 6 riot, CNN media reporter Brian Stelter was cranky. “We live in a world where Donald Trump’s top supporters malign the media for being ‘obsessed’ with January 6.”

You don’t have to be a Trump supporter to see it. The media obsession with January 6 is easily quantifiable. Saying there’s not an obsession is like claiming the media didn’t do enough coverage of Princess Di’s car crash and funeral. The New York Times editorial board posted an article titled “Every Day Is Jan. 6 Now,” and the daily media coverage reflects that mentality.

Sounds like a theme.

How Science is Being Undermined

3rd January 2022

Read it.

Lately, in the last couple years especially, there has been a surge of fact checking services. Instagram and Facebook use these services to warn users of “misinformation” and “falsehoods”, and many other media cite these services as credible sources. For a long while, these warnings on IG and FB were of little matter to me and sometimes they would even pop up on completely irrelevant posts that the algorithms would detect as “misinformation” to my amusement. However something I saw recently finally tipped me over the edge.

I saw Dr. Peter A. McCullough speak on Joe Rogan’s Podcast and so I went to his Wikipedia page to see what his credentials were, and to see a general summary of his work. First two sentences are a quite basic, innocent summary of the man, however the third sentence (which also shows up in the little information box when you search his name on Google) is where things take a turn for the worse. The third sentence reads: “During the COVID-19 pandemic, McCullough promoted misinformation about COVID-19, the COVID-19 vaccine, and COVID-19 treatments.” Now, they cite 3 sources for these claims, and I have gone through all 3 of these in detail. The first 2 are not quite as egregious (and maybe even sinister) as the 3rd one1 so I will be focusing on that to make my point. The first claim of his that they analyze is “Once an individual recovers from Covid-19, they have robust, complete and durable immunity with a negligible risk of ever getting Covid-19 again.” Their so-called debunk of this claim quotes the WHO “The World Health Organization (WHO) states that infected people without symptoms can still transmit the virus.” Notice how these statements have absolutely nothing to do with each other, McCullough is discussing recovered individuals, and WHO currently infected individuals. Coming from the world’s oldest news agency calling this negligence would be underplaying their malice. This is an obvious attack on a scientist nonetheless in order to discredit him and his knowledge.

Check it out.

The media made their fair share of nasty comments and skewed remarks in 2021, but there were also instances where reporters (or entire networks) deliberately misled their audiences.

The Demise of Scientific American

3rd January 2022

Read it.

One week ago, E. O. Wilson—the legendary naturalist and conservationist, and man who was universally acknowledged to know more about ants than anyone else in human history—passed away at age 92. A mere three days later, Scientific American—or more precisely, the zombie clickbait rag that now flaunts that name—published a shameful hit-piece, smearing Wilson for his “racist ideas” without, incredibly, so much as a single quote from Wilson, or any other attempt to substantiate its libel (see also this response by Jerry Coyne). SciAm‘s Pravda-like attack included the following extraordinary sentence, which I thought worthy of Alan Sokal’s Social Text hoax:

The so-called normal distribution of statistics assumes that there are default humans who serve as the standard that the rest of us can be accurately measured against.

There are intellectually honest people who don’t know what the normal distribution is. There are no intellectually honest people who, not knowing what it is, figure that it must be something racist.

Scientific American has been a Woke Narrative Media rag for some time now.

How Not to Talk to a Science Denier

31st December 2021

Read it.

Imagine you bought a book with the title How to Talk to A Contemptible Idiot Who Is Kind of Evil. You open the book, and read the author earnestly telling you how important it is that you listen, and show empathy, and acknowledge why the people you’re talking to might believe the things they believe. If you want to persuade them, he says, you need to treat them with respect! But all the way through the book, the author continues to refer to the people he wants to persuade as “contemptible idiots who are kind of evil”.

At one stage he even says: “When speaking to a contemptible idiot who is kind of evil, don’t call them a contemptible idiot who is kind of evil! Many contemptible idiots find that language insulting.” But he continues to do it, and frequently segues into lengthy digressions about how stupid and harmful the idiots’ beliefs are. Presumably you would not feel that the author had really taken his own advice on board

This is very much how I feel about How to Talk to A Science Denier, by the Harvard philosopher Lee McIntyre.

I refuse to believe that an academic philosopher has any room to talk about science.  The same goes for anybody at Harvard. The combination is a Guaranteed Fail.

In 2021, Media Did More to Erode Trust Than to Repair It

31st December 2021

Read it.

It’s obvious that the media’s hatred for Donald Trump colored nearly everything they wrote or said during his presidency. But one hoped that after he left the White House, the media might recover a little objectivity.

Sadly, a review of 2021 shows that in many cases, it simply did not happen.
