An honest headline would have read, “Helicopter Pilot Ignored Multiple Safety Warnings Before Fatal Crash.”

The liberal paper of record spent roughly a thousand words dancing around the obvious truth: a helicopter pilot directly caused this tragedy by ignoring multiple explicit warnings.

But that wouldn’t fit their preferred story about “systemic failures,” would it?

Whenever a woman accomplishes something, it’s always “Aren’t women great? They’re just as great as men!”  Whenever a woman screws something up, it’s “Well, it could have happened to anybody.”

The Regime Media are in the midst of rolling out a new immigration victimhood narrative, after embarrassing themselves and losing further standing over their absurd white knighting of the deported confirmed MS-13 gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia. But if the Sunday Shows are any indication this new narrative- a hoax, actually: “Deported Citizen Babies”, is facing a similar result.

On NBC’s Meet the Press, Secretary of State Marco Rubio dismantled the premise of citizen children being rounded up, and chastised the media’s use of language echoing the infamous Elián González raid of 1999.

Every once in a while, an MSNBC host briefly messes up and upsets a famous Democrat. It happened on Friday in Rome during an otherwise typical softball pitch. Former Secretary of State John Kerry is used to interviews like Jen Psaki going out for an ice cream bar with him. After a gushfest over the late Pope Francis on the “climate crisis,” anchor Chris Jansing noted under Obama and Kerry, Putin invaded Ukraine and took Crimea.

The New York Times recently published a hissy fit about the White House allowing reporters into the Briefing Room who didn’t vote for Kamala Harris. Here was the amazing protest sentence: “Longtime White House reporters say the result has been an erosion of their independence.”

The presence of a reporter who didn’t vote Democrat doesn’t “erode” the anti-Trump animus (“independence”) of liberal activist journalists. It might balance it, suggesting journalism and liberalism are not exactly the same thing.

This spurred a trend. Politico’s Ian Ward profiled these invaders under the headline “Meet the 8 MAGA Outlets Disrupting the White House Briefing Room.” It carried the usual labeling about “the divide between the MAGA-friendly media and their more mainstream counterparts.” The extreme hatred of Trump is “more mainstream.”

The Trump administration is firing back at The New York Times after the paper published a 3,000-word “sob story” about a criminal illegal alien recently deported back to Jamaica.

“Why does The New York Times continue to peddle sob stories about criminal illegal aliens and ignore their victims?” asked Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security.

The Trump administration deported Nascimento Blair, a convicted kidnapper, back to his home country of Jamaica in February.

Wikipedia handles the leftist propagandists at National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) with kid gloves, all while it bars editors from citing nearly every right-leaning media source.

The online encyclopedia revealed its true colors when it rated NPR and PBS as “generally reliable” in its permissible sources list for editors, despite ample evidence of the two publicly-funded media outlets’ flagrant bias. But Wikipedia rated every single right-leaning media outlet included in the list as “blacklisted,” “deprecated,” “generally unreliable” or “no consensus.” Both NPR and PBS are partially funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and have been under the gun in Washington, D.C. due to their leftist bias and public funding.

Wikipedia assigns ratings ranging from “generally reliable” to literally “blacklisted” to determine whether and where publications can be cited on the online encyclopedia. In a previous report, MRC Free Speech America found that Wikipedia labeled 84 percent of the listed left-leaning media sources featured here as “generally reliable,” including NPR. Wikipedia then smeared 22 out of 29 right-leaning sources with negative labels, while the other seven fell under “no consensus.”

Is there any political schtick more tedious now than comparing President Donald Trump to Hitler? Politico posted an article noting Al Gore did this at a Climate Week event in San Francisco, and RealClearPolitics co-founder Tom Bevan tweeted with a smirk, “Gore says the same thing Democrats have been saying for a decade.”

The Democrats campaigned heavily in 2024 claiming Trump represented an end to democracy, and they lost the election. But it hasn’t slowed them down in the slightest.

The “independent fact-checkers” who act as a publicity arm of the Democrats never “fact-check” anyone calling Trump a “fascist” or comparing him to Hitler or Mussolini or Pol Pot or “insert mass-murdering dictator here.” PolitiFact screeches “Pants on Fire” when a Republican calls a Democrat a “socialist,” but “fascist” is always fair for categorizing conservatives.

Elisabeth Bumiller, writer at large for the New York Times and a former Washington Bureau Chief at the paper, issued a self-righteous, unprofessional screed in Monday’s “Washington Memo” slot, “In the Words of the Trump Billionaires Who Run the Economy,” in which she psychoanalyzed Trump-supporting billionaires and condemned them as soulless monsters bereft of empathy.

The opening sounds like something from a left-wing group’s press release, but this is a news story in the Times.

But in this case (to borrow from Richard M. Nixon) “That would be wrong.” For Philip Shenon gives the game away two sentences later when he defines “the battle for the soul of the church” in these terms: “It pits Catholics desperate for a more tolerant church—one, that in the words of Pope John [XXIII], dispenses the medicine of mercy instead of severity—against those who see that vision as heresy.”

How Shenon came to that conclusion—the Platonic form of the New York Times’s view of the Catholic Church—is clarified in the book’s Acknowledgments where, after claiming the Catholic Church is more “secretive” than the Mossad, authorial thanks are rendered to a Who’s Who of the Catholic Left, living and dead. At the end of an extensive list of those who wrote books of papal history (12 of the 14 being firmly on the portside of things Catholic), the author gives a nod to my “deeply researched biographies of John Paul II”—after proffering a trigger warning that “I … fundamentally disagree with the views of the author George Weigel.” And while I’m mildly gratified that Philip Shenon thinks my books “important additions to [his] library,” that seems a low bar to overcome, given some of the fabulists (e.g., Malachi Martin) and progressive spin-doctors (e.g., Austen Ivereigh, the late Richard McBrien, Massimo Faggioli) whose work he evidently found far more agreeable.

The death of Pope Francis earlier today will exacerbate this division between the People Who Want Change and the People Who Don’t Want Change.

Another guest said the room seemed heavily male.

After bellyaching over  the allegedly “[s]o much crazy [that] happens with the Trump administration every day,” Friedman then freaked over Trump’s April 8 decision “to sign an executive order to bolster coal mining.”

Exactly as it failed to be a check on a long line of Dramacrat Presidents, regarding which Murkowski was notably silent.

The changes are producing “head-spinning” anxiety in and out of government, she said, particularly in a place like Alaska that is so reliant on federal funding

And it’s that sort of pork-barrel spending that Murkowski depends on to keep her job.

“We are all afraid,” Murkowski told Alaska nonprofit leaders on Wednesday, according to The Anchorage Daily News. “It’s quite a statement. But we are in a time and a place where I certainly have not been here before.

The Trump administration has alleged that Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was arrested in Maryland and deported from the U.S., was an MS-13 member. He was sent to El Salvador despite an immigration court order preventing his deportation.

According to newly released documents, Abrego Garcia held the rank “Chequeo” and the street name “Chele” within the vicious criminal organization.

On April 2, Trump proclaimed, “Liberation Day” and added a global baseline tariff of 10%, plus customized so-called “reciprocal tariffs.” Because the 2024 U.S. deficit with the E.U. was 39% of imports, he imposed a “discounted” 20% reciprocal tariff on most E.U. goods not subject to the 25% tariff. After a week, excluding China, Trump suspended reciprocal tariffs for 90 days to facilitate negotiations, and the E.U. delayed its retaliation.

While this may appear to be Trump starting a trade war, in reality it’s Trump ratcheting up a long-simmering war against the United States fought with protectionist trade policies, including by some of our closest allies. Set aside that Trump’s reciprocal tariffs are actually punitive tariffs, that the trade war is depressing global stock and bond markets, raising the specter of recession, and threatening U.S. economic primacy. Those are criticisms largely based on trying to do too much, too quickly. Turning to the disease, Trump is right. We sometimes are treated better by our enemies than by our so-called trade allies. That’s before counting the trillions of dollars America has spent on their defense.

High tariffs are not Europe’s main offense. Instead, the E.U. deters U.S. competition by requiring American companies to comply on a worldwide basis with its far-left antitrust, censorship, data privacy, and DEI rules; limits government purchasing to products with at least 50% local components and E.U. ownership; and sets standards for non-E.U. companies that vary country-by-country, making it prohibitively expensive to do business in the E.U.

Unsurprisingly, it was pants-on-fire false as O’Sullivan chose to ignore both assassination attempts on now-President Trump, arson attacks on pro-life groups, the Family Research Council shooting, the rampant anti-Semitism inside college campuses, and the 2017 attempted murder of congressional Republicans by a man who was both a Bernie Sanders supporter and MSNBC viewer.

O’Sullivan instead created a strawman fixating like a crazy ex on January 6 defendants, far right figures with vile views who made a point of threatening O’Sullivan’s life, and a designer of 3D-printed guns. Oh, and the now-viral sit-down smiling and giggling with Lorenz about her support for Luigi Mangione, the alleged killer of United HealthCare CEO Brian Thompson.

Over the last few days, I’ve been part of an extraordinarily small contingency of people not freaking out and losing their minds over President Trump’s new tariff plan or the ensuing stock market pullback.

A couple of days ago, I argued that the media shrieking hysterically about how the world was ending as a result of this trade policy was nothing more than a visceral reaction to what was happening in the stock market. It had to be. With just hours having passed since the implementation of Trump’s tariff policy, there was no real way to judge its success based on the merits.

Said another way, these things take time.

Donald Trump’s 2024 election sent many finance types into spasms of anticipatory ecstasy as they imagined freedom from regulations, taxes and unfamiliar pronouns. “Bankers and financiers say Trump’s victory has emboldened those who chafed at ‘woke doctrine’ and felt they had to self-censor or change their language to avoid offending younger colleagues, women, minorities or disabled people,” The Financial Times reported a few days before Trump’s inauguration. It quoted one leading banker crowing — anonymously — about finally being able to use slurs like “retard” again. The vibes had shifted; the animal spirits were loose.

“We’re stepping into the most pro-growth, pro-business, pro-American administration I’ve perhaps seen in my adult lifetime,” gushed the hedge fund manager Bill Ackman in December.

One Wall Street veteran, however, understood the risk an unleashed Trump posed to the economy. After Trump’s victory in November, Peter Berezin, chief global strategist at BCA Research, which provides macroeconomic research to major financial institutions, estimated that the chance of a recession had climbed to 75 percent. “The prospect of an escalation of the trade war is likely to depress corporate investment while lowering real household disposable income,” said a BCA report.

Never has a journalist demonstrated more convincingly an inferior mind. Goldberg thinks that ‘Wall Street’ (the Economic Crust) rejoiced in Trump’s election because it would free their Inner Nazi, and then pivots to saying that They Were Wrong because of tariffs, completely missing the fact that (a) she’s reading into their motivations what she pretends they wanted and (b) that there is some connection between her fanciful notions of their mindset and Trump’s actions regarding trade.

Well, if ‘Wall Street’ got Trump wrong, it was because they believed the Narrative Media about who Trump was rather than believing the most sure evidence, what he said and did. But we have no evidence other than Goldberg’s proglodyte fantasies that such a thing happened. Trump has made no secret about his views on economics and trade. Most billionaires are much smarter than journalists like Goldberg, who has been a scribbler all her life and never had a job that required her to do something that would make people’s lives better.

Trump is not imposing tariffs just because he likes tariffs, although he claims he does. The tariffs were in response to other countries imposing tariffs on U.S. goods while expecting the U.S. to be Free Trade Land, and Trump isn’t going to put up with it. Once the moaners and weepers back off on their tariffs, Trump will lower his; he has made that quite clear on more than one occasion, despite the Usual Suspects wringing their hands about how he’s attempting to destroy America. (People would believe that of a Dramacrat, but not of Trump.)

The Times actually pays people to write this shit. Unbelievable.

The Trump administration is considering launching drone strikes on drug cartels in Mexico as part of an ambitious effort to combat criminal gangs trafficking narcotics across the southern border, according to six current and former U.S. military, law enforcement and intelligence officials with knowledge of the matter.

Discussions among White House, Defense Department and intelligence officials, which are still at an early stage, have included possible drone strikes against cartel figures and their logistical networks in Mexico with the cooperation of Mexico’s government, the sources said.

Still, the administration has made no final decision and reached no definitive agreement about countering the cartels. And unilateral covert action, without Mexico’s consent, has not been ruled out and could be an option of last resort, the sources said. It is unclear whether American officials have floated the possibility of drone strikes to the Mexican government.

If you got all of your news from CNN and MSNBC, you’d have a higher than 50/50 chance of believing the Trump administration had accidentally arrested and deported a naturalized American citizen living in Maryland, and for no particular reason.

Cable networks CNN and MSNBC have hopelessly twisted the story of an El Salvadoran illegal alien who recently was deported by the Trump administration. Over the past week, these two networks have referred to Kilmar Abrego-Garcia as a “Maryland man” or “Maryland father” a whopping 120 times, while identifying him as an illegal alien only seven times. Meanwhile, MSNBC alone aired thirteen objectively false assertions that Garcia was actually a legal resident.

MRC analysts looked at all coverage of Kilmar Abrego-Garcia’s deportation to El Salvador on CNN and MSNBC, from April 1 through April 6. In that time, the networks aired a combined 72 stories about Garcia (40 on MSNBC, 32 on CNN).

CNN referred to Garcia using terms such as “Maryland man” and “Maryland father” 51 times. Across the 32 news stories about him last week, only a single segment (3%) contained any mention he was in the country illegally, and just thirteen (41%) even bothered to mention he was from El Salvador, not America.

On MSNBC, Garcia was referred to by terms like “Maryland father” an absurd 69 times. Throughout the 40 segments discussing his deportation, his illegal status was mentioned in just six (15%), and only twelve segments (30%) pointed out that he was from El Salvador.

On Friday [5 April], Dr. Peter Marks announced his resignation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as Director of CEBR (Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research) citing differences with Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kennedy regarding vaccines. The New York Times, Washington Post, and other media outlets such as STAT News breathlessly reported that “FDA’s top vaccine scientist had been pushed out.” We have been told that science is at risk. The irony of these reports is that Marks didn’t resign and is not a vaccine scientist. Dr. Marks was asked to leave and then subsequently wrote that he did not want to become “subservient to [Secretary Kennedy’s] misinformation and lies.”

The media proclamation that Dr. Marks’ is “FDA’s top vaccine scientist” is ironic because he decided to give himself that position. Marks is a physician but has no clinical or scientific training in vaccines or immunology. Dr. Marks trained as an oncologist, a field far from the important and complex area of vaccine biology. At FDA in 2021, Dr. Marks removed top career vaccine scientists so he could force through the approval of the COVID vaccine to meet an arbitrary Biden administration deadline. He also declined to convene the FDA Vaccine Advisory Committee to review his decision. These events are clearly outlined in the June 2023 House Judiciary Hearings. Marks ousted Dr. Gruber and Dr. Krause, the top scientists at the Office of Vaccine Research, due to “intransigence” of these real vaccine experts to not ram through the approval of the vaccine. Drs. Gruber and Krause had voiced concerns that they needed more time to understand the safety of the vaccine especially as it relates to inflammation of the heart, now a well known and accepted toxicity of the COVID vaccine. Marks approved the use of the vaccine in children despite the known fact that children have an extremely low risk of serious health effects of COVID-19 infection and yet a known significant increased risk of serious vaccine related toxicity.

When I first encountered the online buzz around the new Netflix series Adolescence, I didn’t have a strong reaction. Streaming services have replaced TV and movies as the primary pop culture sources of entertainment, but it’s been many years since I paid much attention to such things. My idea of “entertainment” is YouTube videos of Arkansas State Police doing PIT maneuvers — reality being far more interesting to me than the fictional product of some screenwriter’s imagination.

What I did know about Adolescence was that it is set in England, and that the screenwriters had essentially reversed the races of contemporary crime trends in the United Kingdom, by making a white boy the knife-wielding killer. Despite the news media’s reluctance to deal with this honestly, anyone who pays attention to crime news out of Britain knows who is implicated in the surge of stabbing sprees there. It’s not a secret.

Are NPR and PBS biased? Should they receive taxpayer funding? Don’t ask Google. The company’s AI chatbot showed its bias when it answered by simply pushing the leftist legacy media outlets in question.

Google showed a clear bias when MRC researchers asked “Are NPR and PBS biased?” and “Should NPR and PBS be defunded?” on March 25 and April 1. In its answers to the two prompts, Gemini cited NPR, PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (which both NPR and PBS are funded by in part) as sources nearly 59 percent of the time (a combined total of 17 times out of 29 sources listed). Gemini’s responses included only six links that did not favor taxpayer-funded public media like PBS or NPR. This is a continuation of a similar tactic used by Gemini last week, the day before NPR and PBS executives were brought before members of Congress to answer for their networks’ biased reporting. Neither prompt cited a single article by the Media Research Center, which has produced countless reports on the bias at NPR and PBS over the last 30+ years.

“When it comes to NPR and PBS, Google’s bias could not be more clear here,” said NewsBusters Executive Editor Tim Graham. “Aside from perhaps NPR itself, no media entity has expended more ink over the decades on the question of NPR and PBS’s bias than the Media Research Center, and yet, at no point did Google even deign to mention the MRC as a source for either prompt. But this is just Google’s usual modus operandi, isn’t it?”

When I first came across Jonathan Chait’s new Atlantic piece, “Why the COVID Reckoning Is So One-Sided,” I assumed the answer would be that Democrats had been the ones relentlessly and tragically wrong about virtually everything during the pandemic. No such luck.

In Chait’s telling, the Left remains uncannily open-minded, always striving for truth, while the dogmatic Right remains hopelessly bogged down in “pathological incuriosity.” Even when conservatives are right, they’re right in the wrong way.

These days, people on the Left, Chait contends, “have engaged in searching self-reflection—on school closings, the lab leak hypothesis, the political aftereffects, and other unanticipated lessons. Conservatives have used the occasion to engage in a round of self-congratulations and taunting of the libs.”

Now, you and I may believe dunking on libs who accused you of committing mass murder for going to church is perfectly normal behavior. Chait, though, is irked by all the “gloating” and “football-spiking.” Especially because a handful of left-wing outlets have published columns (five years late) begrudgingly admitting that lockdowns were a failure.

A few writers on the Left are realiably wrong about everything they discuss: Paul Krugman, Jennifer Rubin, Amanda Marcotte, Greg Sargent, Will Bunch, Philip Bump … and Jonathan Chait. They’re totally right, everyone they disagree with is totally wrong, and that attitude persists even when they change their minds about something. People on the Right should Know Their Place and Mend Their ways, like David French and the Kristol Krew over at The Bulwark.
