After Front Page Feature, NYT Walks Back Gaza Child Misinformation

30th July 2025

Read it.

In an act many supporters of Israel were calling a “blood libel,” The New York Times first slapped an image of an emaciated Palestinian child on the front page of their Sunday edition paper and blamed Israel for his condition, accusing the Jewish state of using starvation as a weapon against children. But on Tuesday, the purported paper of record was forced to walk back their smears because it was exposed that the child had a pre-existing medical condition that was largely responsible for his physical appearance, and the image cropped out the child’s brother who appeared nourished.

In an earlier edition of the report available via the Wayback Machine, The Times introduced the child, saying: “Mohammed Zakaria al-Mutawaq, about 18 months old, lives with his mother and brother in a tent on a Gaza beach.” Adding: “Mohammed, she said, was born a healthy child. ‘I look at him and I can’t help but cry,’ she said.”

But following The Times’ emphasis on the child, it was discovered that he was born with a condition that effected his muscle development, likely contributing to the emaciated look of his body.

‘Disastrously Bad’: CNN’s Primetime Viewership Plunged in July, Report Says

30th July 2025

Read it.

CNN’s primetime viewership plunged to 497,000 in July—a 42 percent drop from the same time last year—leaving the network far behind its cable news rivals, according to multiple reports Tuesday.

The network “averaged only 497,000 total viewers in prime time for the month of July, despite unrelenting waves of major news,” journalist Oliver Darcy reported on his Substack. “MSNBC, by comparison, averaged 865,000 total viewers. Meanwhile, Fox News averaged 2.41 million viewers.”

While Darcy’s Substack is only available to paid subscribers, former CNN host Chris Cillizza quoted from the report in an X post, describing the numbers as “disastrously bad.”

Delusion Rampant: MSNBC & ABC Cry White Supremacy in Sydney Sweeney Ad

30th July 2025

Newsbusters.

This week, major news outlets like ABC and MSNBC have been up in arms over a recent instance of a model doing her job, which was of course, modeling. Calls of “white supremacist dog whistles” and “Nazi propaganda” were the topics of legacy media over a recent American Eagle ad involving actress Sydney Sweeney and her “great jeans genes” play on words.

MSNBC producer/opinion writer Hannah Holland wrote an opinion piece on the “issue” on Monday. Holland, who found herself seemingly suffering from some severe apophenia, had written articles such as “The world of ‘The Hunger Games’ feels disturbingly familiar in Trump’s America,” and “The message behind Melania Trump’s hat.”

The latter claimed that because Melania wore a dark blue hat compared to a light blue hat at Trump’s first inauguration, she was showing undertones that “the next four years are going to be as dire as they seem.”

Holland viewed the American Eagle shift from woke, obese models as an offensive attack of non-inclusivity that promoted “Nazi propaganda.” She even went as far as to say Sweeney’s willingness to participate in the ad was “obviously damaging — and, depending on who you ask, even dangerous.”

BBC Reporters Instructed To Blame Israel for Gaza Hunger

29th July 2025

Read it.

A leaked email has further shown how UK state broadcaster the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has misled audiences on events in Gaza since the October 7th pogrom.

Writing in The Spectator on July 28th, broadcaster Jonathan Sacerdoti details how an internal memo entitled “Covering the food crisis in Gaza,” acts as “a top-down editorial diktat that discards impartiality.” Sent to BBC staff on Friday, July 25th, it opens with the assertion that “the argument over how much aid has crossed into Gaza is irrelevant.” Instead, “we [staff] should say” that the current distribution system “doesn’t work.”

Such criticism is directed at the recently created Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), not the United Nations’ Hamas-riddled UNWRA NGO. The BBC is instructing journalists to blame the GHF for the failure of aid to get through, rather than, say, the involvement of Hamas terrorists in attacking and looting aid shipments. As Sacerdoti argues,

The closer the GHF and Israeli army get to finally defeating the terrorists, the more shrill the BBC’s insistence that the Jewish state is deliberately starving children.

This now includes a memorandum designed to control the narrative by instructing journalists to ignore any evidence to the contrary. The email even declares that it is ‘indisputable’ that Israel is the occupying power in Gaza, despite disengaging from there in 2005. Israel presents its current action as a temporary one to defeat Hamas and its allies, and not an attempt to acquire territory.

Should they wish to watch live television, British citizens are forced to fund the BBC, on pain of a criminal record. As ‘Auntie’ lurches from one antisemitism row to another, the national broadcaster’s credibility is slumping lower and lower.

When future historians examine how the mainstream media lost all credibility, Glenn Kessler’s career at the Washington Post will certainly deserve its own chapter. CBS News Ignores Hamas Stealing Aid Shipments, Blames Hunger on Israel

29th July 2025

Newsbusters.

On Monday’s CBS Mornings Plus, co-hosts Vladimir Duthiers and Adriana Diaz brought on Doctors Without Borders U.S. CEO Avril Benoit to promulgate some absurd theories on the war in Gaza.. Discussing the situation of humanitarian aid in the area, all the blame was on Israel as they ignored Hamas’s role in confiscating the aid for themselves, and the correction the Doctors Without Borders head suggested? Countries without borders.

While there was truth to the claim that resources in Gaza were limited, and that there was indeed need for humanitarian aid, to place the blame solely on Israel’s restrictions in the war-torn region was a gross misrepresentation of the facts.

Of course, the segment did not so much as mention Hamas even once while discussing the humanitarian crisis, such as their confiscation of aid shipments at gun point.

Under Siege From Trump and Musk, a Top Liberal Group Falls Into Crisis

25th July 2025

The New York Times, paper of record for the Deep State.

Media Matters, a nonprofit group that has played a key role in liberal politics, is struggling to withstand months of legal assaults by President Trump’s allies, offering a glimpse of what might be in store for even well-funded targets of his retribution campaigns.

The organization, which is funded by some of the Democratic Party’s biggest donors, has racked up about $15 million in legal fees over the past 20 months to defend itself against lawsuits by Elon Musk, in addition to investigations by Mr. Trump’s Federal Trade Commission and Republican state attorneys general.

The group has slashed the size of its staff and scrambled to raise more cash from skittish donors, according to documents and interviews with 11 people familiar with the organization’s fight to survive.

Media Matters for America was (and maybe still is) a tool of the Clinton machine, and specializes in muckraking fake news against Republicans in general and Donald Trump in particular.

The Legend of Luis Leon: The Media Embraces Another Anti-Ice Hoax

24th July 2025

Jonathan Turley.

“When the legend becomes fact…print the legend.” Those words from an editor to a young reporter in “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance” still appear to be the modus operandi of the media. That was demonstrated this week with the legend of Luis Leon after The Morning Call in Allentown, PA, printed yet another harrowing account of ICE agents “disappearing” an immigrant. According to a story quickly picked up by other eager outlets, the 82-year-old grandfather, a legal asylum holder, was roughed up and then deported to Guatemala. The problem is that there appears to be no proof supporting the story of the “family members” cited by the reporter.

According to The Morning Call, Luis Leon, a Chilean national, was trying to replace his lost green card at a local USCIS office when he was suddenly deported to the wrong country, Guatemala, and he ended up in a hospital with pneumonia. The story further recounted how Leon’s wife was kept in custody in brutal conditions for 10 hours before she was released.

Media, including The Guardian, eagerly picked up the story of another “disappearing” of an immigrant.

As the story went viral, a few people decided actually to look into the case and found that it not only made no sense but there is no evidence of such a deportation.

For its part, The Morning Call changed key facts but did not withdraw the story as a hoax.

Of course not. So what if it was false? It expresses a “deeper truth”, in line with the Narrative.

Hilarious BBC ‘Microaggressions’ Video Goes Viral; No One in the Real World Acts Like This

24th July 2025

A DEI training video produced by the BBC that purports to provide guidance on how to deal with ‘microaggressions’ in the workplace has gone viral because it’s so ridiculously hilarious.

The video is a perfect example of what deranged leftists believe the world is like, but in reality no one acts the way the actors in the piece do.

It’s like an episode of Ricky Gervais’ The Office, which pokes fun at stereotypes by having characters play up to them for comic effect.

At the Times, Hope Springs Eternal

23rd July 2025

Power Line.

President Trump has completed an epic six months, with accomplishments that dwarf those of almost any of his predecessors in the same time period. But liberals aren’t giving up hope: they remain convinced that the roof is going to fall in, at any moment.

The Democrats hope for a deus ex machina in which Epstein’s ghost will somehow relieve them of their Trump nightmare. Which strikes me as delusional. As I keep reminding people, Epstein was a Democrat. His contacts were principally among Democrats, including Democrats in academia. The only politician–I emphasize, the only politician–known to have had a significant relationship with Epstein was Bill Clinton. (Someday, maybe we will learn what the blue dress and high heels were all about.) Donald Trump knew Epstein casually because of the Palm Beach connection, but Trump’s most notable act was kicking Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago. Maybe he caught on to Epstein’s corruption before any of the Democrats did.

In any event, there is little chance that any new investigation into the dead Epstein’s affairs will have any perceptible impact on Trump’s standing with the public. And the fact that the Democrats couldn’t care less about the fact that such an investigation is more likely to bring Bill Clinton into further disrepute (and possibly Hillary) shows how far that party has come.

Finally, what is the other reason why Times opinion writers think Trump had a “very bad week”? A “stinging SCOTUS dissent.” But wait! If it was a dissent, that means Trump won the case. In fact, he won the Department of Education issue in the Supreme Court on an 8-1 vote, with no other justices joining Ketanji Jackson’s “stinging dissent.”

This is how deep Democrats have to dig in their search for good news.

Democrats Should Get Tough and Quit Negotiating Spending Bills

22nd July 2025

Washington Monthly, yet another fatuous Voice of the Crust.

Yeah? With what? What lever of power do the Democrats have in their hands, that they can ignore ‘negotiate’ and jump to ‘get tough’?

In late summer of a typical year, both parties in Congress are drafting bipartisan appropriations legislation that won’t get filibustered in the Senate and will keep the federal government open when the next fiscal year starts on October 1.

Yeah, both arms of the Uniparty get together to divvy up the swag.

This year is not typical.

Thank you, Donald Trump.

Congressional Republicans, at President Donald Trump’s behest, have unapologetically broken faith in the appropriations process by undermining a bipartisan agreement struck just four months ago.

As Democrats have done every time they could get away with it so long as I’ve been alive.

That deal kept the government open through the current fiscal year. Since Democrats can no longer trust Republicans to keep their word, they should abandon negotiations over Fiscal Year 2026 spending and let the Republican majority figure out how to keep the government open.

Democrats are fine ones to bitch about others not ‘keeping their word’. And, unlike Democrats, Republicans aren’t focused on keeping the government open; a lot of them would much rather shut it down.

Proglodytes have this annoying habit of talking as if they have power even when they don’t. I suspect that’s because, in their own minds, they still do; them not having power is no part of the fantasy world that they habitually inhabit.

Living Under a Rock? WashPost Editorial Board Whines Trump Supposedly ‘Politicizing’ Fed

21st July 2025

Newsbusters.

Here’s a rule of thumb: Anybody who thinks that the Federal Reserve isn’t innately a political entity should have his head examined. But the collective of prefrontal cortex-challenged geniuses on The Washington Post editorial board are acting as if this politicization only started when President Donald Trump started putting pressure on Chairman Jerome Powell to lower interest rates.

This gives new meaning to the term “headcase.”

The Post’s July 15 editorial was about as clear an attempt to drum up cheap scare porn as it gets. “Trump’s attacks on the Fed are worse than you think,” the editorial board cried. With Trump, it’s always “worse than you think.”

“Politicizing the Federal Reserve could unmoor inflation expectations and drive up borrowing costs.” “Unmoor inflation?” Really? And who exactly does the newspaper think was largely responsible for unmooring the 40-year high inflation crisis by arbitrarily overloading the money supply in the first place?

Legacy Media Still Covering for Biden

19th July 2025

The Foundry.

Or were White House staffers behind the unprecedented string of autopen signings?

In recent weeks, evidence has been mounting that the former president may not have been in the loop, which is, to be charitable, problematic.

Luckily for us, the folks at NBC News jumped into action with a story headlined, “Lead investigator into Biden’s use of an autopen signed letters with a digital signature.”

In it, reporters Ryan Nobles and Melanie Zanona make an inane equivalence between lead investigator Rep. James Comer signing PDFs using a digital signature—a completely legal thing to do—and Biden allegedly allowing his staff to issue blanket presidential pardons for thousands of people without knowing the names or crimes of the recipients.

As anyone who works in an office can tell you, one of these instances is done for practical reasons. Unless you print, sign, and rescan every single letter you send, the only way to sign a PDF is to use a digital signature. The other signature was used to administer an awesome plenary constitutional power used by the president, and only the president.

It’s not just NBC News. Rather than investigating a possibly immense political scandal, many in the media pedantically focused on the “autopens.”

Straining at fleas and swallowing camels.

The media’s desire to make themselves the main character in the story reached the Platonic level on Wednesday as CBS correspondent Scott MacFarlane joined former moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press, Chuck Todd, on his appropriately named podcast: The Chuck Toddcast. According to MacFarlane, he was diagnosed with PTSD after the first assassination attempt against President Trump, not because of the shooting, but because of the reaction of Trump supporters. Meanwhile, Todd thought this was a completely reasonable thing to claim.

MacFarlane recalled, “For those of us there, it was such a horror because you saw an emerging America. And it wasn’t the shooting, Chuck. This was—I got diagnosed with PTSD within 48 hours. I got put on trauma leave, not because, I think, of the shooting, but because, you could, you saw it in the eyes, the reaction of the people. They were coming for us. A perfectly reasonable reaction, I think.

Wholesale prices are flat in June, PPI shows, and point to muted effect of tariffs on inflation.

In this instance, “muted” means none, zero, non-existent.

Here “PPI” stands for the producer price index, the wholesale version of the retail consumer price index, CPI. Yesterday, the CPI was published, which led the Wall Street Journal to lead with this Page 1 headline, printed above the fold this morning,

Inflation Picks Up to 2.7% as Tariffs Start to Seep Into Prices.

The Journal piled on with an editorial this morning,

Trump Tariffs Hit Consumer Prices.

The media narrative that was written back in early April had the Trump tariffs sparking Weimer Republic/Zimbabwe/Argentina-levels of galloping hyperinflation.

In anticipation, they went and cornered the market on those wheelbarrows that you would have needed to cart around the cash to buy a loaf of break.

But it never happened. And it’s killing them. It’s killing them dead.

Army Veteran and US Citizen Arrested in California Immigration Raid Warns It Could Happen to Anyone

17th July 2025

Associated Press, a Voice of the Crust.

The point is that it’s not ‘happening to anyone’, it’s only happening to certain people, such as illegal immigrants and those who hang out around marijuana farms.

CNN Blames Trump for Family Self-Deporting Themselves, Not Illegal Dad

17th July 2025

Newsbusters.

To the liberal media, everything was Trump’s fault. That’s exactly what CNN News Central executed on Wednesday when the Mendoza family was covered in a segment for moving to Mexico because President Trump was in office. This was the family’s way to fulfill a “self-deportation,” and Trump was the one to blame on CNN, rather than the father who came in illegally.

Julio Mendoza was an illegal immigrant from Mexico since he was 11, while his wife, Sasha, and kids were U.S. citizens residing in Pittsburgh. The Mendoza’s decided after seeing the news coverage of Kilmer Abrego Garcia, who’s an illegal immigrant arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, that they should move to Mexico. CNN took this story and ran with it.

I guess his wife counts as two people. Have you ever noticed that you quite often see pictures of grossly obese black women, and sometimes pictures of grossly obese white women, but you never see pictures of grossly obese Asian women? Why is that?

NYT Schlub Tom Friedman Can’t Stop Brown-Nosing Communist China to Attack Trump

16th July 2025

Newsbusters.

Seriously, what is it with New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman’s obsession with simping for Chinese communists just so he could “muh, get Trump?” Of course, he presents it the other way around: Trump is stupidly aiding the Chinese by being against “liberal” sources of energy. He’s doubling down on Beijing’s fake persona as the paragon of clean energy virtue to attack the green sludge subsidy cuts within President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.”

David Brooks Tribute: Gergen Was Centrist, ‘A Good PBS Conservative Like Me’

15th July 2025

Read it.

Gergen was a dyed-in-the-wool apparatchik of the Deep State, as David Brooks is increasingly becoming.

This was so obvious that Rush Limbaugh invariably referred to him as “David Rodham Gergen”.

He Helped Big Companies Dodge Taxes. Now He’s Writing the Rules.

14th July 2025

The New York Times, paper of record of the Narrative.

Did you ever wonder why Leftists are so outraged by the prospect of anybody saving money on taxes?

Reminder: Companies, big or little, don’t pay taxes. They merely collect taxes. Taxes are, to a business, and expense, and wind up being included in the price of their product–or they go out of business. The people who actually pay the taxes are their customers. This fact of elementary economics is beyond the mental reach of the morons who commit ‘journalism’.

Velshi Nudges MSNBC Contributor to Talk Up ‘Lawful’ Violence Against ICE Agents

14th July 2025

Newsbusters.

Caleb Howe at Mediaite reported that on Saturday’s Velshi, MSNBC contributor Joyce Vance said ICE agents wearing masks during enforcement actions could face “lawful” violence against them by people who mistake raids for a “kidnapping.”

As one would expect from a Trump-hating MSNBC pundit, Vance guessed that everything ICE was doing was based on zero evidence except for skin color: “You can’t simply racially profile or profile people based on their national origin and start pulling them off the streets.”

She stuck to routine MSNBC phrasing: “That, by definition, is a police state.”

Vance further insulted the people who have effectively sealed off the border as more loyal to Trump than the rule of law and the Constitution: “the people in charge are no longer the career officials with training who understand loyalty to the Constitution. These are quite literally people who understand loyalty to Donald Trump.” That’s rich coming from the Biden open-borders allies.

After the typical “anti-fascist” Canadian political science professor lamented the descending authoritarianism, Velshi then nudged Vance to claim ICE deserves whatever violence they receive.

‘HUGE Transfer of Wealth’ From Poor to Rich: Amanpour Turns PBS Into Socialist Channelf

14th July 2025

Newsbusters.

Thursday’s edition of Amanpour & Co., which appears on taxpayer-funded PBS after airing on CNN International, veered even further left than usual with a glowing interview of Mr. Socialist himself, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). Host Christiane Amanpour’s set-up for the interview, which launched the show, left no mistaking where she stood on Trump’s big bill: On the hard left.

My, what a surprise.

Unmentioned in any of this discussion is where the poor got all of this money that is being ‘transferred to the rich’.

Legacy Sunday Shows Mostly Pretend Trump Assassination Attempt at Butler Never Happened

14th July 2025

Newsbusters.

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the failed assassination attempt against President Donald Trump, a transcendent event in our nation’s politics and history that demands reflection. However, the anniversary of the shooting was mostly met with indifference on the legacy media’s Sunday political talk shows.

NBC’s Meet the Press didn’t touch Butler until close to the end of the show, as a subject matter for a panel discussion segment. What is striking about the discussion is that it was centered on the politics of the day and the state of the campaigns- as opposed to a reflection on political violence.

NBC would have you believe that the truest, purest victim of that day was the electoral aspirations of President Joe Biden and not the unmentioned Corey Comperatore, who gave his life in order to protect his wife and daughter from the assassin’s bullets- or, for that matter, the other two gentlemen who were wounded on that day. These three didn’t warrant so much as a mention on the NBC panel, which instead focused on that day.

The Narrative Media love to focus discussions on abstract notions of ‘violence’ rather than the specifics of who is being violent to whom. That way they can avoid any mention of the fact that most ‘violence’ in this country is perpetrated by leftist political activists and criminal elements among fashionable minorities.
