After a brief trip out of the country, I return to find America’s elites playing some sort of Chinese Whispers drinking game with a vat of anti-freeze. Josh Earnest, the White House press secretary, has doubled down on his accusation that Donald Trump was in on Putin’s “hacking” of the election.

In fact, the only presidential nominee who knew of it was Barack Obama, who had it brought to his attention over a year ago, back when the experts were assuring us that Trump wouldn’t make it to Iowa and New Hampshire. Obama kept the news of Putin’s alleged hacking to himself. So Mr Earnest is now accusing Trump of doing exactly as his boss did. Except that (take another slug of anti-freeze) Earnest’s evidence that Trump was in on the shadowy “conspiracy” is that a few months back Trump publicly invited Putin to release Hillary’s unseen emails. So Trump and Putin’s secret plan to subvert American democracy was so sophisticated they announced it to the world. That’s how cunning they are. We’re gonna need more anti-freeze.

That one word has become the favorite slogan of leftists following Donald Trump’s electoral victory, and it has only increased in usage since The Washington Post’s Friday report on CIA claims the Russian hacked emails to help the current president-elect win.

Odd that, during the years when Communism was the Flavor of the Month and the Soviet Union actually represented an existential threat to America, nobody on the American Left thought The Russian Threat was anything more than a fantasy — yet now, when Russia may be an enemy state but certainly isn’t trying to take over America any more, it’s a Big Deal. I wish they would make up their minds.

Of course, the only thing the ‘Russian hack’ did was allow us to peer into the fetid swamp that was the Hillary campaign; that affected the election to the extent that it allowed people to peer behind the curtain at the sausage being made, and for that, if the ‘Russians’ had anything to do with it, they deserve our thanks. But, of course, when it’s the Democrat ox being gored, it’s more important to punish the whistleblower than to fix the problem thus revealed. Edward Snowden, take note.

It’s been more than a month since the November 8 election, and liberals are still struggling to find a way to make Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton the winner of this year’s presidential contest.

One of those advocating the (s)election of the former secretary of state is Alan Gilbert — the John Evans Professor at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies in the University of Denver – who declared on Sunday: “In any other country, the U.S. State Department would declare the presidential election results a hoax: Clinton won initial exit polls — usually dead accurate — in four swing states.”

I suggest a new ter: Reality Denier — for those who JUST CAN’T BELIEVE THAT HILLARY LOST.

You and I are familiar with the concept (e.g., Portland, OR and Portland, ME), and thus we can notice that almost everybody in the article fleeing to remote Nelson is white. But most poor dumb NYT readers are clueless that there is such a Thing as Leftwing White Flight and this article isn’t going to bring up a conceptual category that would make them uncomfortable.

Second, why are all these nice white people unable to afford to live in Vancouver anymore? Well, you know and I know it’s because of Canada’s massive legal immigration levels causing Asian immigrants’ demand for housing in Vancouver to drive prices through the roof: the Law of Supply and Demand applies to immigration-related realities, just as it applies to everything else. But if you do a text search for “MIGR” you won’t see any words like “immigration” or “migrants” in the article.

Worse than ‘fake news’ is purported ‘news’ that doesn’t tell you what’s actually going on.

The glut of “fake news” filling the web doesn’t make it any easier. America’s insatiable appetite for quick headlines and prior-confirming news feeds has made it all but impossible to identity that pesky thing we like to call “truth.”

Take a recent Huffington Post confessional for instance. “How I Ended Up in a Psych Ward on Election Night,” written by 38-year-old science journalist and Hillary superfan Benjamin Ryan, details how political fandom can go awry. Ryan, who looks so insanely metro even gays would call him a faggot, actually experienced suicidal thoughts on Election Day when his queen was felled by the gruff man’s-man Donald Trump.

From California to Illinois to Louisiana, stories are cropping up of hate crimes perpetrated by Trump supporters that later prove to be fabricated by the so-called “victim” of the crime. A Trump-inspired “hate crime” at a university in Chicago has turned out to be a hoax.

An openly bisexual senior at North Park University claimed she was the recipient of a homophobic note and hateful emails following Donald Trump’s win in the presidential election. But the school president reported Tuesday the notes are “fabricated.”

The members of the American Sociological Association have decided to be very angry about the Cleveland Indians “Chief Wahoo” logo, and they have collectively written a letter to Major League Baseball commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr., telling Manfred just how angry they are.

Alert the media! Oh, wait, they already know … because the first thing one does in a situation like this is release the letter to the DemLegHump Media. You might even eventually get around to sending it to the nominal recipient, but that’s not required — he can read in in the news like everybody else.

“Academic research clearly demonstrates” that nicknames and logos honoring Native Americans “reflect and reinforce societal stereotypes,” “undermine” “accurate understandings of” Native Americans and “harm Native Americans” by “depressing their self-esteem,” Lamont claims. Also, she and other cloistered sociology professors are just sure that Native American team names “convey disrespect.”

Such letters as these certainly reflect and reinforce stereotypes about Professors of Sociology as a bunch of far-left tofu-heads. Perhaps they ought to be banned as well.

The Democrats and their media adjunct played the race card over and over in the campaign that concluded with the election of Donald Trump on November 8. They aren’t about to give it a rest now. They have done a superb job of devaluing the charge. One might reasonably infer that the equal treatment of men without regard to race means nothing to them. Rather, they treat the issue of racism as a charge to be invoked purely for instrumental purposes.

From the outset of this process, Standing Rock Sioux leaders have refused to sit down and meet with either the Army Corps of Engineers or the pipeline company.

The Army Corps consulted with 55 Native American tribes at least 389 times, after which they proposed 140 variations of the route to avoid culturally sensitive areas in North Dakota. The logical time for Standing Rock tribal leaders to share their concerns would have been at these meetings, not now when construction is already near completion.

Liberal news network CNN is still pushing a hoax story about a Muslim woman who claimed to have been attacked and robbed by supporters of President-elect Donald Trump after his election on Tuesday.

The woman, who attends the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, claimed that two white men, one of whom was wearing a Trump hat, attacked her and stole her wallet and the hijab she was wearing.

The unnamed woman claimed her attackers knocked her to the ground while hurling racial slurs at her.

She later admitted to police that she fabricated the entire thing.

A Slate writer called on anti-Donald Trump people to begin wearing a symbol on their clothing so they are easily identifiable as non-bigots in a column Thursday.

Lamenting the fact that the people around her do not immediately know she voted for Hillary Clinton, columnist Michelle Goldberg suggests all the non-bigots such as herself begin wearing the symbol as a “quick, easy” way to set themselves apart.

How about that Hillary ‘this way to the hospital’ badge? That seemed to work.

It’s been some low-hanging fruit watching celebrities react to this election, but low-hanging fruit is delicious. Lady Gaga asked that we “say a prayer America” and then blew Trump’s mind by standing outside one of his buildings with a sign that said “Love trumps hate.” This is a powerful message because Trump hates love. He was hoping that eventually he could wipe out all the love in America but Gaga was ensuring him that no matter how hard he tried, it would still be there. Where do these people get their views from—Dr. Seuss? He’s not the Lorax, Lady.

This is all symptomatic of modern journalism’s great moral and intellectual failing: its unbearable smugness. Had Hillary Clinton won, there’s be a winking “we did it” feeling in the press, a sense that we were brave and called Trump a liar and saved the republic.

So much for that. The audience for our glib analysis and contempt for much of the electorate, it turned out, was rather limited. This was particularly true when it came to voters, the ones who turned out by the millions to deliver not only a rebuke to the political system but also the people who cover it. Trump knew what he was doing when he invited his crowds to jeer and hiss the reporters covering him. They hate us, and have for some time.

And can you blame them? Journalists love mocking Trump supporters. We insult their appearances. We dismiss them as racists and sexists. We emote on Twitter about how this or that comment or policy makes us feel one way or the other, and yet we reject their feelings as invalid.

The day after Donald Trump’s presidential election win on Tuesday night, a teacher at a fancypants private high school in New York City penned an essay — datelined NEW YORK — to explain how he is helping the children of obscene wealth cope with “despair, anxiety or indignation” about the news.

The teacher is Jim Cullen. He presides over history classes at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York — right across from Central Park. A single year of high school tuition at the elite bastion costs $47,000. (A year of kindergarten also costs $47,000.)

Dionne isn’t original either. After the Dems took a beating in 1994, the late Peter Jennings reported that “America threw a temper tantrum.” Dionne parrots this astonishingly juvenile line: “What the polls suggested was that a large number of Americans were prepared to throw a fit, regardless of the consequences.”

Pollster: “Are you prepared to throw a fit regardless of the consequences?”

Respondent: “You’re goddam right, I am.”

Watching the Media Meltdown is our new spectator sport.

My wife asked me why I bought us a popcorn-popper, since we rarely eat popcorn. Well, I think it’s time to start.

Esquire magazine’s resident Chekist, Matt Miller, whose official job title is Associate Culture Editor, is now engaged in a culture war against celebrities whose high crime is that they haven’t joined in the liberal hate fest against Donald Trump by openly denouncing him. Not only does he condemn them generally but Miller goes so far as to list their names along with their social media following.

It doesn’t matter if these celebrities are silent even though they really support Hillary or they are just apolitical or if they secretly support Trump but don’t want to alienate a portion of their fan base. To Miller it is an outright Thought Crime if they don’t loudly become as openly psychotic over Trump as he is.
