People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) wants to build a memorial on a Maine highway for thousands of lobsters who never made it to a dinner plate after an August accident saw the lobsters fall out of the back of a truck and die on the roadside.
These people never progressed emotionally past about 14 years old.
I wonder whether we could convince them that they’re all really transgender. I’d chip in for the surgery.

The Other McCain blows the whistle.
As I’ve been saying for months, the Mueller “investigation” isn’t really an investigation, it’s a cover-up, intended to conceal or distract attention from the illegal means by which corrupt Obama administration operatives sought to sabotage the Trump campaign. As the latest revelations show, however, the so-called “mainstream” media were an integral part of this anti-Trump operation, and so you cannot expect Democrat-controlled organizations like CNN and the Washington Post to tell the public the truth about all this. If all you know is the “news” you get from CNN, you have no idea what actually went on in the manufacturing of the phony “Russian collusion” story.

Rush Limbaugh is having a great deal of fun this day playing sound bites of Democrats tongue-bathing McCain (now that he’s dead) in conjunction with what those same Democrats said about him (The New Hitler) when he dared to run for President against the Half-Blood Prince. Once he performed his Republican Duty by losing, he went back to being the war-hero darling of the DemLegHump Media. CNN’s Jake Tapper has admitted that the chief value of McCain’s death is that it provides them with a rhetorical stick with which to beat Trump.
Just as Doonesbury’s Reverend Scott Sloane was the Fighting Young Priest Who Can Talk to the Young, John McCain was the Maverick Republican Who Can Reach Across the Aisle. Like the other members of the RINO Fringe in the Senate, his function was to trash-talk his own party and provide bipartisan cover for whatever silly scheme Democrats had on their menu.

Trump critics have taken a page from the Climatistas. They wring their hands over the bad consequences in store for Trump IF the things they assume are crimes actually are crimes, but really aren’t.
Just as the climatistas are basing their OMG WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE predictions on something happening that they never show actually happened (well, we PREDICT that it will happen, and that ought to be good enough for you Dirt People), so the Trumpernickles predict vast criminal penalties for actions that, when Real Lawyers look at them, aren’t crimes at all.
The sky is falling, women and minorities hardest hit, film at eleven, etc. etc. It makes you wonder how these people manage to make it to work in the morning without being carried off by the Vikings that aren’t there.

The New York Times, undeterred by its failure to find any nuggets by digging through Ashley Kavanaugh’s emails as town manager of Chevy Chase, Maryland–“the records were … mundane dispatches about town business, from snow removals to local newsletters”–has now served a request for the records of any 911 calls made from Judge Kavanaugh’s home for the last 12 years.
The New York Times requests digital copies of all policing pertaining to Brett Kavanaugh, a resident of Chevy Chase Section 5. Specifically, we request all policing records, including police reports or calls of service (911 calls or otherwise), pertaining to Brett Kavanaugh, his wife, and their home address.
Somehow, I’m guessing there aren’t any. But when it comes to a Supreme Court nominee, the Times “had to try.” Of course. You remember how hard they tried to dig up dirt on Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, don’t you? Don’t you?

Julia Salazar is not Jewish. Nor is she a working-class immigrant. Her mother is an Italian Catholic from New Jersey and her father, a native of Colombia, is a commercial pilot who became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1982. Julia grew up in a middle-class home in Florida and graduated from Columbia University, an elite Ivy League school where the annual cost of attendance is $80,826 including room and board.
All of this information, available from public records, was discovered by Tablet magazine for a fascinating story about how Julia Salazar invented a fictional identity as a working-class Jewish immigrant in order to run for a state senate seat in New York, as a progressive Democrat.
It’s amazing how many Fashionable Minority Victims went to Ivy League (or equivalent) schools. This chick went to Columbia; Alexandria Occasional-Cortex went to Harvard Law.

The Guardian over in the UK apparently has a unique feature.
The Week in Patriarchy is a weekly roundup of what’s happening in the world of feminism and sexism.
This particular instance is entitled Men’s fixation on young women is another sign of masculinity in crisis.
This is of course nonsense; men have been ‘fixated on young women’ for at least 5,000 years; something that’s lasted that long is, from an evolutionary point of view, certainly a feature rather than a bug, and thus far from being ‘in crisis’.
What’s actually ‘in crisis’ is the modern hipster female predilection for finding some aspect of men that they dislike and proclaiming it somehow a defect in men that men are somehow responsible for fixing.
Masculinity is certainly in crisis — but the crisis is caused by the disturbing number of women attempting to eradicate it, and by the even more disturbing number of men who are sufficiently confused as to jump on board that effort.
Such men are doomed never to reproduce.
I strongly suspect that Arwa Mahdawi is eventually going to find herself in the same boat.

Of course, that’s not what Trump said. Democrats spend most of their time beating up on straw-men because they have nothing else to live for.
Still, even though that’s not what Trump said, there are still a lot of people who believe it, and it’s going to take more than a resolution by a slime-meister like Chuck-You Schumer to convince them otherwise.

Obviously her father wasn’t a valuable parent.
A feminist professor at California State University-Fresno recently published an article lamenting that federal programs to promote “responsible fatherhood” among vulnerable men in fact perpetuate “patriarchy,” “gender norms,” and “hegemonic masculinity.”
Sounds good to me.
Professor Randles teaches sociology, reminding me of Thomas Sowell’s quote: “The next time some academics tell you how important diversity is, ask how many Republicans there are in their sociology department.”
Very few, I’m thinking. (They’re probably busy out spreading Hegemonic Masculinity. That’s hard work.)

Except that THERE ARE NO RISING SEA LEVELS.
At today’s sea level, it would take a very powerful earthquake tipping past magnitude 8.8 to cause widespread tsunami flooding in Macau.
But a half-metre rise in sea level – predicted to occur in the region by 2060 – could more than double the chances of a huge tsunami swamping the territory, according to the research.
A three-foot sea level rise, expected by 2100, would increase the risk up to 4.7 times.
These are PREDICTIONS for which there IS NO ACTUAL EVIDENCE.

Paul Mierngoff at Powerline blows the whistle.
When candidate Donald Trump rolled out his “Make America Great Again” slogan, Hillary Clinton chided him for taking the position that America isn’t great now. But today, New York governor Andrew Cuomo attacked the slogan from the opposite perspective. He said: “We’re not going to make America great again; it was never that great.” He added that America “will reach greatness when discrimination and stereotyping against women, 51 percent of our population, is gone, and every woman’s full potential is realized and unleashed and every woman is making her full contribution.”
The difference between these two takes may simply reflect the fact that Cuomo is more honest than Hillary. I’m not convinced she thinks America is great or ever was. I don’t think Barack Obama does.
However, this much is true: There was a time not very long ago when no mainstream Democrat would publicly deny that America has been great. I’m pretty sure that Andrew Cuomo’s father, Mario Cuomo, never denied it and would have appalled to hear any Democrat, and certainly his son, make such a declaration.
