John Dean, the former White House counsel who helped bring down President Richard Nixon in the Watergate scandal, urged President Joe Biden to go further with his pardons.

Biden on Sunday pardoned son Hunter Biden, who was found guilty in June in a firearms case and pleaded guilty in September in a tax case.

The president, who had previously vowed not to pardon his son, is facing criticism from both the left and right over the move. But Dean said he didn’t go far enough ? and urged Biden to issue blanket pardons to everyone President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to target when he returns to the White House next month.

That list includes those who have investigated Trump ? including Robert Mueller and Jack Smith and their teams ? as well as “all on Trump’s enemies list.”

The 2022-24 rejection of Biden-Harris policies may or may not lead to an enduring Republican majority. However, it is, as the headline on an Ezra Klein postelection New York Times’ interview proclaims, “the end of the Obama coalition.”

The most major components of his supposedly ascendant Democratic majority, including record turnout and percentages among black voters, continuing supermajorities from Hispanics and Asians, and enthusiastic support from young people, have receded, and support from white college graduates has even cracked a bit. The 44th president, in his Kalorama mansion, 2.5 miles from the White House, has seen the arc of history bend toward Trump Tower and Mar-a-Lago.

Smart Democrats are focusing on one cause of their party’s limited but, at least for the moment, decisive decline. Ruy Teixeira, coauthor of “The Emerging Democratic Majority,”which foresaw the Democratic Party’s triumph in 2008 but not its subsequent demise, writes that Democrats have moved sharply left on cultural matters, on racial quotas and preferences, on increasing rather than reducing immigration, toward stands that have repelled “the white working class” in the 2010s and now repel the nonwhite working class in the 2020s.

After President Joe Biden began lagging heavily behind Trump in the polls in June and July, the entrance of Harris appeared to solve Democrats’ problems. From August until right before the election, a great many accredited public polls had Harris leading Trump.

According to David Plouffe, a senior adviser on the Harris campaign, this was never reflected in internal polling, which always had Harris behind or tied with Trump.

“We didn’t get the breaks we needed on Election Day,” he said in an appearance on the Pod Save America podcast. “I think it surprised people because there was these public polls that came out in late September, early October, showing us with leads that we never saw.”

Plouffe added that internal polling didn’t change much throughout the election, remaining mostly static since Harris joined the race in July.

The 2020 Presidential election shared a problem with the 1998 MLB home run race: the winning candidate did too well. In 1998, steroid juicer Mark McGwire broke Roger Maris’s home run record by nine home runs or roughly 15 percent.

In 2020, Joe Biden’s 81 million votes broke Barack Obama’s 2008 record 69 million votes by 12 million votes or roughly 17 percent. Obama’s 2008 numbers were anomalous. Hillary Clinton’s 2016 numbers were closer to the norm, and Biden got nearly 25 percent more votes than she did, a cool 16 million additional votes when finally counted.

Campaigning from his basement, this cognitively-challenged, charisma-free codger did much too well in 2020, and now even the Left is noticing. With virtually all the 2024 presidential election votes counted, Kamala Harris’s vote total remains roughly seven million votes shy of Biden’s ballot box-busting performance in 2020.

Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign directed nearly $600 million to just four media consulting firms with deep ties to the Democratic establishment, Federal Election Commission records show.

The latest available FEC data show the Harris campaign exceeded $880 million in total spending as of October 16, though that number is expected to balloon to $1.5 billion after the Harris campaign files its post-election FEC report on December 5. Seventy percent of the campaign’s known total spending flowed through four firms: Media Buying & Analytics, Gambit Strategies, Bully Pulpit Interactive, and Dupont Circle Strategies.

Together, these four Democratic firms were largely responsible for distributing Harris’s campaign messaging across the nation—an effort that ultimately saw Harris lose all seven swing states and the popular vote but directed huge sums of donor money the firms’ way.

If you think of Joe Biden as a nice old man who was kicked to the curb, consider his administration’s jaw-dropping efforts to sabotage Donald Trump.

The president-elect plans to actually enforce federal immigration law starting Jan. 20, when Trump takes the oath of office. As the New York Post reported Thursday, Team Biden “is quietly rushing to implement new policies that will loosen restrictions on migrants who entered the US illegally – a parting attempt to thwart President-elect Donald Trump’s immigration crackdowns and mass deportations,” according to sources.

Chuck Rocha, a Democratic operative and CNN contributor who was convicted of embezzling funds from a major labor union, is eying a bid to lead the Democratic National Committee.

The former adviser to Bernie Sanders’s 2016 presidential campaign said this week he is “seriously considering” a run for DNC chair in order to shake up the party after its landslide losses to Republicans earlier this month. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley and Minnesota Democratic Party leader Ken Martin jumped into the race this week. Former Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel is also reportedly mulling a bid to lead the committee.

Progressives have already come out against Emanuel. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) called Emanuel, the current ambassador to Japan, a symptom of the “seed of the party’s political crisis.” Liberal news outlets have questioned Emanuel’s “suspiciously timed” stock trades as ambassador to Japan, and rehashed his tenure as mayor of Chicago during the police shooting of Laquan McDonald.

That’s just common sense—and common courtesy to women. Yet Rep. Nancy Mace, a South Carolina Republican, is being crucified by Democrat House members for wanting women’s spaces to be for women only.

“This is not just bigotry, this is just plain bullying,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., whined to Axios. A co-chair of the House Equality Caucus, Rep. Becca Balint, D-Vt., told Axios, “The cruelty is the point.”

Mace announced her resolution Monday, a couple months before Tim McBride, who wishes to be known as Sarah McBride, is slated to begin his first House term. (McBride announced he had “transitioned” while a student at American University in the 2011-2012 school year.) Mace’s resolution would require lawmakers and staffers to use bathrooms matching their birth sex.

Asked by reporters if her resolution was related to McBride, Mace said, “Yes.”

A head election judge serving in a Minnesota township has been charged with two felony counts for allegedly letting 11 people vote without being registered.

Timothy Michael Scouton, 64, faces with one count of neglect of duty by an election official and one count of accepting the vote of an unregistered voter, KSTP reported.

According to a criminal complaint filed Friday, officials started to investigate after Hubbard County Auditor Kay Rave wasn’t able to find any completed voter registration forms among the ballots and other materials that were returned by Scouton, who had acted as head election judge in the Badoura Township precinct on election night.

Officials in Bucks County, Pennsylvania are openly disregarding a state Supreme Court ruling prohibiting them from counting provisional ballots missing a signature, as Democrats and Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) challenge Republican Senator-elect Dave McCormick’s election victory.

Bucks County Board of Commissioners Chair Robert J. Harvie Jr. (D) and Vice Chair Dianne Ellis-Marseglia (D) are plowing ahead with their count of the illegal ballots that are missing signatures in one of two places, which officials have referred to as “block two” and “block four.” The third commissioner, Republican Gene DiGirolamo was the lone dissenting voice.

“I think we all know that precedent by a court doesn’t matter anymore in this country,” said Ellis-Marseglia in response to the illegal count, adding “People violate laws anytime they want. So, for me, if I violate this law, it’s because I want a court to pay attention. There’s nothing more important than counting votes.”

The cinematic Avengers assembled for Team Harris late in the election cycle. Stars Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Don Cheadle, Robert Downey, Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Danai Gurira and Paul Bettany starred in a cheeky video supporting Harris’ campaign.

Many of the stars did the same in 2016 to prevent Donald Trump from defeating Hillary Clinton. This time, the messaging proved more comic, less angry.

Neither worked. Did the stars get a payday from their collective endorsements? It’s a fair question to ask given Harris’ donation to Winfrey’s Harpo Productions.

House Democrats are frustrated with former House speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) for her public comments on her party’s campaign failures, saying she’s undermining the leadership of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D., N.Y.), Axios reported.

“She needs to take a seat,” a senior Democratic lawmaker told Axios.

A member of the Congressional Black Caucus said Pelosi is not being “respectful” of Jeffries even though the minority leader “has been tremendously graceful and respectful of her.”

“I understand that this is a difficult transition for her, not being the leader, but she is not,” the lawmaker continued. “She needs to understand what her new role is.”

en. Bob Casey (D., Pa.) urged voters to “reject extremism at the ballot box” last year by electing fellow Democrat Diane Ellis-Marseglia for Bucks County commissioner. Now, Ellis-Marseglia is openly defying Pennsylvania law to count illegal votes, part of an eyebrow-raising maneuver to help Casey in his longshot recount against Republican Dave McCormick.

On Thursday, Ellis-Marseglia voted to count mail-in ballots that lacked signatures in defiance of a Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling that such votes are invalid. Ellis-Marseglia acknowledged that the votes were invalid but said she wanted to count them anyway to force a court challenge.

“I think we all know that precedent by a court doesn’t matter anymore in this country,” Ellis-Marseglia said at a commission meeting. “People violate laws any time they want,” she said. “So, for me, if I violate this law, it’s because I want a court to pay attention.”

Here’s another way to look at why Republicans swept the 2024 elections: It’s the fault, only partly, of course, of the gerontocracy of the Democratic Party. Going back through history, it’s hard to find a time when a party’s leadership was so far along in years. The founder presidents retired in their mid-sixties. Andrew Jackson retired at 69, Abraham Lincoln was murdered at 56, and Ulysses S. Grant retired at 54. Theodore Roosevelt died at age 60, Franklin Roosevelt at 63.

As Americans voted decisively for a candidate who explicitly rejects nearly everything that Bernie Sanders advocates, Vermont’s senior senator insists that the Democratic Party just wasn’t liberal enough. The mindset of the far left seems to be that the working class just needs more of what they just voted against. For Bernie, the answer is always, “more cowbell.”

The Department of Justice violated its own internal policies when it sent a letter—which ended up in the New York Times—warning Elon Musk’s political action committee against its $1 million voter registration giveaway in swing states, the chairman of the Federal Election Commission alleges in a letter obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

On Oct. 23, less than two weeks before the presidential election, the Times reported that the DOJ’s Public Integrity Section sent a “warning letter” to America PAC, Musk’s political group, that a $1 million giveaway for newly registered voters might violate the law. Both the letter and the leak appear to violate DOJ policies, FEC chairman Sean Cooksey argued in a letter to DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz.

The media spent months pre-hyping Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris. In its aftermath, stories claimed that the lip-synching sensation’s Instagram post drove half a million fans to not only buy overpriced merchandise, but to register to vote in the 2024 election.

The Kamala campaign embraced ‘Brat’ branding based on an album from a British half-Muslim pop star few Americans ever heard of. It brought out Beyonce to campaign (crucially not to sing) for Kamala who had tried to model her fanbase, the KHive, on Beyonce’s rabid Beyhive fans.

Kamala brought Oprah and Lady Gaga to Philly and Katy Perry to Pittsburgh. Julia Roberts cut an ad telling women to hide their votes from their husbands. In Michigan, white wife-killing enthusiast rapper Eminem headlined a Kamala rally while Obama rapped the opening of his ‘Lose Yourself’ (unintentionally revealing that he’s just as authentically black as Eminem.)

As we have already highlighted, Kamala had demanded to only appear for an hour with Rogan, and wanted to do it outside of his studio, meaning he would have had to travel to a location of her choosing.

Needless to say, Rogan refused to meet the demands, reasoning that it simply wouldn’t be an episode of his podcast if that was to happen.

Rogan unveiled more of what went on with discussions between his team and Kamala’s campaign, noting “There were a few restrictions of things they wanted to talk about…They wanted to know if I’d edit it. I’m like, there’s no editing.”

X owner Elon Musk, an avowed supporter of Presidential-elect Donald Trump and a potential administration assistant to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in government, tweeted a screen shot of a Newsmax broadcast this week.

The red-and-blue election state-by-state map on Thursday’s “Carl Higbie FRONTLINE” noted nearly all of the states that chose Vice President Kamala Harris were ones that have no voter ID on the books.

“Must be a coincidence ?,” Musk tweeted Sunday morning, sharing the Newsmax graphic that highlighted the impact of states that block voter ID requirements election integrity-seeking Republicans have long called for.

I have seen and heard from many, many Harris supporters struggling to figure out how their side lost. Many of them are reporting what they’ve seen and heard from others. Many ideas. Hundreds. Maybe thousands. Not all unique, but…lots of effort to figure out where they went wrong.

Not a single one has said anything even vaguely resembling: We conjured up all these fearful prognostications about what life would be under a guy who’s been President already. We didn’t scare ’em like we wanted to. Because he’s been President already.

Democrats are having a full-blown identity crisis.

No, they aren’t. They know who they are; they just don’t see a way clear to pulling the wool over they citizenry they way they’ve become used to

Days after Kamala Harris’ defeat, the extent of their party’s failure is becoming increasingly clear. It’s bad enough that Democrats are still losing working-class whites, as they have in recent elections. Now, exit polls show blue-collar Latinos and some Black men, long a core part of the Democratic base, are abandoning the party, too, fueling electoral shellackings. Republicans flipped the Senate and are padding their majority. Democrats’ path to a majority in the House is narrowing. And Donald Trump won in what could only be described as a landslide in the modern era.

In interviews with 16 elected officials, party leaders and strategists, Democrats from both wings of the party agreed they have stopped knowing how to talk to the working class, once the very core of their identity. But they were deeply divided on where to place the blame — and what to do about it. Just like Donald Trump’s victory did in 2016 — and in 2020, when he lost by a smaller margin than expected — his return to the White House is fueling a raging debate between the party’s progressive and moderate wings about where to go from here.

Well, (a) there isn’t enough time to do that, (b) it would be too easy for Senate Republicans to run out the clock (The Turtle is at least competent enough to do that), and (c) even if it worked, they’d replace her with someone equally stupid or worse, like Jackson.

Some have speculated that Walz may have hurt Harris in Minnesota, pointing out that her margin of victory was narrower than Joe Biden’s, four years ago. I don’t think that is true, but we can safely say that Walz did her no good. The contrast between the Harris/Walz numbers and incumbent Senator Amy Klobuchar’s win is instructive. Harris carried the state by a 51.1% to 46.8% margin, while Klobuchar defeated Republican Royce White by 56.3% to 40.5%. If Minnesota has a Favorite Son, it isn’t Tim Walz.

Walz now returns to Minnesota to finish out his second term as governor. There has been speculation that he might run for a third term, even though his victory margin declined considerably when he was re-elected in 2022. But, given his embarrassing performance as a vice presidential candidate, and the discreditable facts about his history that are now widely known due to the national spotlight, I think that is unlikely. Democrats like Keith Ellison and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan (generally viewed as even farther to the left than Walz) will probably battle it out for the nomination.

Meanwhile, down-ballot Republicans gained seats in the Minnesota House, the only races that were on tap this year. The House is now evenly divided at 67-67, which presumably means that nothing very controversial will pass next year. And there is an outside chance that an election contest could throw the majority to the Republicans. Meanwhile, Democrats control the Senate by 44-43, but infamous burglar Nicole Mitchell goes to trial in January. A conviction, which seems pretty certain since she was caught red-handed by local police, presumably would mean a special election that could tilt control of that chamber.

An indictment was unsealed today in the Southern District of Mississippi charging Hinds County District Attorney, Jody E. Owens II, 43; Mayor of Jackson, Mississippi, Chokwe Antar Lumumba, 41; and former President and current member of the Jackson City Council, Aaron Banks, 47, all of Jackson, with participating in a bribery scheme to enrich themselves. Owens, Lumumba, and Banks are scheduled to make their initial court appearances today before U.S. Magistrate Judge LaKeysha Greer Isaac in Jackson.

The aide added they’d like a shot of “whatever they’re drinking if 100 extra days of campaigning for Harris instead of Biden would have changed the results of last night!”

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was at the forefront of efforts to depose Biden in July, and she admitted mid-October that she had not spoken to the president since her intervention pressured him to quit in July.

She told the Guardian that some of Biden’s camp had not forgiven her for damaging his legacy through her actions.

Democrats are no different than Nazis or Communists. Once they’ve wrung all the use out of you, they’ll just throw you in the trash.

Donald Trump seems likely not just to win the Electoral College but also the popular vote to return to the White House, delivering a massive rebuke to Vice President Kamala Harris and the Left more generally.

Trump’s genius—in raising his fist amid an assassination attempt, donning the apron of a McDonald’s fry cook, and riding shotgun in a trash truck—carried the day. However, the Left’s slings and arrows against the former president also helped propel him to victory by exposing how cynical and conniving his opponents were.

The Left committed at least six massive political miscalculations that also amount to transgressions against America’s political order. These moves helped Trump win, but they also exposed the forces he will face in a second term.

I’ve long felt that, as the title of this post says, Obama was the turning point – not to some hoped-for racial reconciliation, but to a divisive leftist dominance in US politics.

Prior to Obama, presidents cared to a great extent what the people wanted, and tended to respond to public opinion if only because they thought the people might vote them out, but sometimes also because they thought that was their job. After the election of Obama, who was the first truly leftist president and the first Alinskyite president, the MSM became totally taken over by propaganda rather than partially, and the president became deceptive about his goals and methods. The Democratic Party began to veer more strongly and openly to the left as the Overton window moved.

Obama didn’t try to shape his policy to the needs and desires of the American people, but rather to do what he could to further a global rather than a US agenda, and if the people didn’t like it they were just going to have to accept it. That approach has become far more common in Europe as well – or rather, it may have began in Europe and Obama was following their example. In reaction to all of this, both here and abroad, populist movements have sprung up and the left has concentrated on demonizing them as Nazi-esque.

I watched this happen twice in Northern Virginia, and I’ve heard it explained before, but this is the first time I’ve seen an expert brief it in a shareable format. And he focuses on Philadelphia, a jurisdiction as shameless as any other. I have been told by Democrats that it is just how business is done. I have been told by Republicans that it would be more harmful to diminish faith in the electoral system than to oppose permanent, systemic voter fraud. Journalists have told me their editor won’t let them, their lawyers won’t let them, or management outright admits the city prosecutors would wage withering lawfare if they did. Factors that have always helped keep “journalism” locked down. It’s part of the “narrative” discipline. The city prosecutors and police objected to me about wasting finite resources needed for the prosecution of violent crimes and gangs on corrupt party operatives and their gang buddies.

 

The American Mind.

A Harris victory looks less likely each day, and thank God for that. While Roger Kimball foresees the final destruction of the old American Constitution at the hands of a totalitarian state led by Harris, I see something more chaotic and potentially worse: a hubristic Harris administration that—mistakenly assuming itself to have the mandate of heaven—tries to be authoritarian and fails, thereby unleashing political chaos.

Just as there have been no adults in the room in the Harris campaign, so too we should expect none in her government. A Harris administration would probably be blissfully unaware of several seismic trends in American political life over the last ten years.

The Other McCain.

As advocates of the new Georgia law have repeatedly said, it makes it easier to vote, but harder to cheat — and it’s that latter aspect of the law that Abrams and other Democrats deplore. There was massive “ballot harvesting” in Georgia in 2020, but they won’t be able to play that trick this year, which is one reason why Team Trump feels pretty confident about Georgia. Another factor that should help Trump in Georgia is the disgrace of Fani Willis, whose RICO case against Trump got wrecked in the courts. Let me put this as gently as possible — there’s Atlanta, and then there’s the rest of Georgia. Folks out in the hinterlands of Georgia don’t want anything to do with Atlanta, and Fani Willis is a perfect example of why people in the rest of Georgia despise Atlanta.

Brendan Carr, the senior Republican on the Federal Communications Commission, Sunday accused NBC of evading the agency’s “equal time” requirements by featuring Vice President Kamala Harris in her “Saturday Night Live” debut just days before the election.

“This is a clear and blatant effort to evade the FCC’s Equal Time rule,” Carr posted on X.

“The purpose of the rule is to avoid exactly this type of biased and partisan conduct — a licensed broadcaster using the public airwaves to exert its influence for one candidate on the eve of an election.”

The dark money flowing into the well-funded Democrat coffers through the ActBlue platform is not only under scrutiny, but it is also on the ballot in congressional races Tuesday, the New York Post’s Editorial Board warned Saturday.

The Republican-held House under Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., is joining even President Joe Biden’s Justice Department in investigating allegations of illegal donations — including potential millions coming unlawfully from foreign entities — but if Republicans do not win Tuesday, accountability could remain in limbo from an investigation under a Democrat-controlled Congress, legal watchers said.

“If Dems take the White House and Congress, America can say goodbye to any chance of that ever happening,” the Post Editorial Board wrote Saturday.

He has been dealing as a master with schoolboys all his life, until now he has reached a point where he cannot meet anybody on the basis of equality.”

There is no surer sign that Trump has this in the bag. Stores and restaurants boarding up and moving on ahead of the obvious massive layoffs about to hit the most corrupt and inefficient jurisdiction in American history. Families will have to move out of their potholes because not enough drivers will fall in to financially maintain them. There will be no one left to maintain the walls and fences that make our brutally corrupt Congress tenable. Who will feed the troops guarding them from righteous citizens’ rage? Now that DC is no longer significant, who will come visit the monuments and museums?

This is actually good news. Anyone who has ever lived in the DC area knows that the city was built in a wetland. A literal swamp. Being ecology minded, I have lobbied for years to remove the buildings and restore the glorious, pristine Okefenokee ambiance spoiled by all of those imperialist invaders. No more Cheneys or Pelosis or Schiffs or Wrays or Comeys or, well, it’s a long, pugnacious list.

Save DC. Save the planet. Vote Trump.

It’s easy to forget the litany of ways that the institutional Left and our “representatives” in government have repeatedly betrayed the American people over the last eight years. There’s no need to single out individuals. “They” are legion: the Democrats, the compromised courts that ignore or invent the law, the Intelligence Community that interferes in our elections, the leftist foot soldiers burning and looting our cities, the unelected “experts” who try to rule Americans by fiat, the “non-government organizations,” Big Tech, the useful idiots, and corporate media that lie to us about all of it.

As the election approaches, citizens should once again take inventory of the long train of abuses we have endured by that dishonorable group.

On Tuesday, the sitting president called half the country “garbage.” While it’s hard to grasp historical significance as it unfolds, this moment will likely be analyzed and debated for decades. The comment reflects more than just a slip of the tongue—it reveals the deep contempt the Democratic Party holds for ordinary Americans, evident in their rhetoric, policies, and methods.

As a first-term legislator under Tim Walz in Minnesota, I’ve witnessed firsthand how a narrow Democratic majority has forced through the most radical agenda imaginable. This includes some of the most extreme abortion provisions globally, an energy mandate that bans 80% of current production without a viable replacement, and business policies driving companies out of the state. Worse, billions of taxpayer dollars are wasted on initiatives meant to create favorable election soundbites—such as offering free school lunches to wealthy families just to say, “We’re feeding kids.”

Don’t you find it interesting that Trump is being accused of wanting to commit all kinds of abhorrent actions and behaviors that he has never demonstrated? That if you look at his first term, his policies were quite good? That he didn’t abuse his power or meddle with the powers of others? I continue to marvel at the number of people who are crying out about his “fascist” or “autocratic” nature.
