With one broad stroke, Democrat Hillary Clinton called all conservative women “handmaidens” in remarks at an event in New York City earlier this month.
“Well, first of all, don’t be a handmaiden to the patriarchy, which kind of eliminates every woman on the [Republican] side of the aisle, except for very few,” Clinton, 77, said when asked what advice she would give to the first female president.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., are among the “few” Republican women who don’t bow down to the patriarchy, according to Clinton.

leaving us with constant whiplash. Even so, we have a duty to remember how bad things were under President Joe Biden, because the institutional factors that enabled his presidency—and the cover-up of his health problems—have yet to be dismantled.
Human beings are fickle, and our memories often end up getting twisted by present concerns. When the Israelites were hungry in the wilderness, God had to remind them that he brought them up out of slavery in Egypt, because their hungry stomachs led them to say they had it better under the whips of their masters (Exodus 16:1-8).
Similarly, we are often tempted to leave injustices in the past, because it’s easier to move on. Thus, after the COVID-19 pandemic, some voices I respect called for a “pandemic amnesty.”
Yet COVID-19 exposed the corruption of the public health bureaucracy, which repeatedly lied to the American people. Bureaucrats abused their power—forcing churches to close, demanding businesses shutter, and keeping kids out of the classroom.
These abuses show why Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s shake-up of the public health establishment is way overdue. We must remember the abuses, so we accept the hard medicine we now need. If we forget, we may not address the corruption at the root of these problems, and the excesses of the bureaucracy will metastasize like Biden’s prostate cancer.

The law firm of Marc Elias, the Democratic campaign lawyer who played a key role in the Russiagate conspiracy theory, is suing the state of Kansas to allow wealthy foreign nationals to fund state ballot initiatives and constitutional referendums.
Elias Law Group is one of the firms representing Kansans for Constitutional Freedom, a pro-abortion group behind a 2022 Kansas ballot initiative that reaffirmed the state’s constitutional protections for abortion.
Kansans for Constitutional Freedom filed a federal lawsuit last week against Kansas officials to block HB 2106, which limits the campaign activities of organizations that take money from foreign donors or foreign corporations. The bill prohibits groups involved in ballot initiatives and constitutional referendums from taking large donations from foreign nationals and foreign corporations.
Democratic groups have a significant financial stake in maintaining access to wealthy foreign donors—the most prominent of which is Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss.

Across the country, a new defense is being heard in state and federal courtrooms. From Democratic members of Congress to judges to city council members, officials claim that their official duties include obstructing the official functions of the federal government.
It is a type of liberal license that excuses most any crime in the name of combating what Minn. Gov. Tim Walz called the “modern-day Gestapo” of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The latest claimant of this license is Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), who was charged with assaulting, resisting, and impeding law enforcement officers during a protest at Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark, New Jersey. McIver is shown on video forcing her way into an ICE facility and striking and shoving agents in her path.

The U.S. Department of Justice began an investigation into Mayor Brandon Johnson on Monday over allegations of race-based discrimination, citing his recent remarks at a Woodlawn church in which he emphasized how many Black people he’s hired in his administration.
Johnson received a letter from Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon saying there is “reasonable cause” to believe the mayor “made hiring decisions solely on the basis of race,” in potential violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The probe was the latest attack on Johnson, a freshman progressive mayor, from Republican President Donald Trump since he returned to the White House this year and began cracking down on liberal-leaning cities.
Dhillon’s letter quoted several examples of what she said suggested discriminatory hiring practices from the mayor’s Sunday panel with Bishop Byron Brazier of Apostolic Church of God. The appearance was part of a series of stops Johnson has been making on the South and West sides to shore up his Black voter base.

With medical experts saying the seriousness of Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis must have been known well before the former president left office in January, Donald Trump Jr. asked whether former first lady Jill Biden took part in a “cover-up.”
Biden’s office announced Sunday that the former president has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Prostate cancers are given a rating called a Gleason score that measures, on a scale of 1 to 10, how the cancerous cells look compared with normal cells. Biden’s office said his score was 9, suggesting his cancer is among the most aggressive.
Biden and his handlers lied. They’re Democrats. That’s what they do.

Just 101 days into his tenure as the Democratic Party’s youngest vice chair—and the first “Zoomer” to hold that office—party elites have already declared David Hogg’s election null and void, a complaint that sounds suspiciously like “election fraud.”
It’s the latest embarrassment from a spent political party that pales in comparison to President Donald Trump’s incredibly successful first 100 days. If Republicans are wise, they’ll take advantage of the chaos ahead of the 2026 midterms.
The complaint centers on broken parliamentary procedures—the preferred excuse of weasels and dictators alike to undermine democratic elections—specifically, DNC rules mandating “gender parity” to tip the scales in favor of female candidates running against men.
In other words, DEI did Hogg in.
No, DEI was just a plausible excuse, one that Democrats would be willing to accept. If it hand’t been that, the Democrat Crust would have found some other trick to play.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on Tuesday said the three Democrat lawmakers who scuffled with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in New Jersey last Friday committed felonies.
New Jersey Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman, Robert Menendez and LaMonica McIver were part of a mob that protested at the Delaney Hall detention center, a privately run facility under contract with ICE that houses non-citizens awaiting immigration proceedings or deportation.
The lefty protesters were demanding that the center be shut down, the New York Post reported.
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka (D) was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with trespassing after entering the facility and refusing to leave.
An ugly scuffle ensued as the lawmakers surrounded Baraka in an apparent attempt to shield the mayor from the ICE agents making the arrest.
“Don’t touch us!” McIver (in red) screamed over and over as officers tried to break through their blockade.
An online video shows the hefty McIver (in red), a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, throwing punches and shoving law enforcement officers as they tried to regain control.

Among the ways Democrats are trying to stop hemorrhaging men voters is apparently by elevating guys who exhibit some comically stereotypical sense of “masculinity,” but who otherwise champion all the effete Democrat policies that the party loves and real men hate. Who knows! Maybe it’ll work!
Three such strapping lads come to mind of late, first and foremost being David Hogg, the lithe twink who is currently a vice chairman of the Democrat National Committee. (Though, some party officials are challenging his election on the grounds that he’s not DEI eligible — he’s apparently not gay). In an interview last week on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, Hogg proposed that Democrats are losing the support of young men, who “would rather vote for somebody who, even if they don’t completely agree with, they don’t feel judged by, than somebody who they do agree with, that they feel like they have to walk on eggshells around constantly because they’re going to be judged or ostracized or excommunicated.” He said young people more generally “should be able to focus on what young people should be focused on, which is how to get laid and how to go and have fun.”

How are the guards supposed to be sure the “protesters” aren’t preparing a “jailbreak”?
I have not seen this asked in any news reports or commentary, but the question sticks in my mind.
The “protests” at the Delaney Hall ICE Detention Center in New Jersey seem to be expanding and getting more violent after the Newark mayor was arrested when he rushed into the facility.
Much of the media and other supporters of the mobs assembling at the gates of the Delaney Detention Center assert that the mobs are mere “protesters” or that they are just trying to “inspect” the facility. But how can the guards be sure of that? How do the facility guards know that, once inside the facility, the “protesters” or “inspectors” won’t try to release the detainees, or to slip contraband or weapons to the detainees?
An argument I hear from people who oppose private ownership of guns is that homeowners should never shoot burglars because a burglar’s life is more valuable than a homeowner’s material “stuff.” A common response to that argument is to point out that, as the burglary is beginning, the homeowner has no way to know what the invading person intends. Does the intruder intend “merely” to take “stuff”? Or does the intruder intend to kidnap or rape or murder? What if the intruder who plans to “merely” take stuff changes his mind during the action?
On what basis are the guards at the Delaney Hall supposed to be sure that the mayor, the clergy, and the mob at the facility’s gate are “merely” protesting, and not intent on entering the facility to release the detainees? Especially since the guards at the center now have experience with the mob rushing into the facility when the guards opened the gate for an authorized vehicle?
The potential for a “jailbreak” seems to be a realistic possibility. Therefore, basic facility security would seem to call for the guards to use full force against a mob that is assembling at the gates.

No sooner had the House Energy and Commerce Committee kicked off its markup of the GOP’s “big, beautiful bill” than protesters descended upon the proceedings. U.S. Capitol Police was forced to quickly arrest 25 people and remove several protesters in wheelchairs from the hearing room amid chants of “no cuts to Medicaid” and “waste, fraud and abuse my ass.”
Is anybody in doubt that Democrats organized this thing?
Committee Chair Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.) repeatedly pounded his gavel and said that “disruption of Congressional business is a violation of law and is a criminal offense.”
Democrats don’t care … unless it’s Republicans or “MAGA” doing it.
“People feel very strongly because they know they’re losing their health care,” said ranking member Frank Pallone (D-N.J)., asking police not to arrest protesters if possible. “Many of them are disabled and I don’t want to see them further hurt with their disability in the process of being arrested.”
Once again, Democrats insist on their rent-a-mob people being allowed to break the law with impunity.

American progressivism in its current form can be summarized as an ideology that claims, “we must do A or B will happen.” The A in this formula can be just about anything and often flips from positive to negative. There are times when doing A reverses and the warning is to stop doing it. On the other hand, the B factor is always a negative consequence of the first term. Usually, it is a vague suggestion that it is not just bad but the end of civilization as we know it.
The obvious example is the weather. On the grand scale, the first term will be something like driving cars or heating our homes, while the second term is climate change, which means climate disaster. If we keep driving cars the climate will change in such a way that earth dies. They never make that second term explicit, but the extinction stuff is assumed. After all, climate changes all the time and has often been to our benefit, but that just muddies the waters.
That gets to the other aspect of this formulation. The person or people involved assume that their normative evaluation of both terms is correct. They may be justifying their prejudice against A on the grounds that it leads to B, but they always assume that B is a bad thing that moral people should seek to avoid. You see this with climate change, which is recast as a moral condition, rather than an observation. It is a bad thing not a simple observation of earth’s behavior.

Mark Halperin reports on what is likely the real reason behind Joe Biden’s return to the public spotlight in recent days, which some have suggested is an attempt to “fight back” against damning revelations about his cognitive decline. “Biden, Inc., needs a source of revenue,” he said, citing a source familiar with the Biden family. “The trough is empty, the spigot has shut down. They need a way to get back in the game to make big money to have the grandchildren fed and clothed and flown first class.” Joe and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, are both working on books that no one will want to read. (A Jill Biden biography released in 2022 sold just 250 copies in its first week.) Joe’s debut on the paid speaking circuit did not go well, and most Democrats want nothing to do with him, for obvious reasons. “The country would be better served if he rode off into the sunset,” one Democrat operative told Politico last month.
Most Americans would agree that what’s happening to the Bidens is painfully tragic and unfair. That explains why Jill Biden was so desperate to stay in the White House, her husband’s dementia be damned. The Biden family went from living large to begging for pardons to stay out of prison. Biden’s exit from the political arena means his son, Hunter, and brother, Jim, no longer have anything of value to offer the world. The prospects for maintaining the “lavish lifestyle” to which the Bidens have grown accustomed are not especially bright, Halperin said, noting that Hunter “does not have great earning capacity” these days. The degenerate crackhead admitted in court that he’s struggling with “significant” debts due the decline in “sales” of his “artwork,” which have failed to cover his hefty child support bill for the daughter he denied was his while (falsely) denouncing her mother as a common prostitute he didn’t remember sleeping with.

Illinois and Chicago politicians have made a mess of opportunities for blacks in Chicago. In preparation for my Chicago Tonight’s Black Voices appearance last week – more on that later – I pulled together several key facts on how Chicago blacks were fairing vs. the nation’s other big cities. The data, straight from the U.S. Census or the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, is dismal.
Chicago is stuck in a vicious spiral, where too much spending has led to too much debt, including massive pension debts. Taxes, as a result, have become increasingly punitive. Pile on top of that failing schools and crime, and that’s chased out people and businesses, driving down job creation and investment. Based on the data, minorities are paying a big price relative to their peers in other big cities.

“What I didn’t like about becoming famous overnight,” Mallory McMorrow writes in her new book Hate Won’t Win: Find Your Power and Leave This Place Better Than You Found It, “is that you might assume that I had always done this, that somehow it came naturally.”
Unless you’re a journalist or a celebrity (or some other form of partisan Democrat who obsessively follows politics), you’re probably wondering: Who the hell is Mallory McMorrow??? And why is she famous???
McMorrow is a two-term state senator from Michigan and a former Hot Wheels designer for Mattel. She was filled with “rage” after Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton in 2016, so she started writing mean postcards to Betsy DeVos, the secretary of education. When that didn’t work, she decided to run for office. In 2022, she became a liberal superstar after a Republican colleague accused her of trying to “groom” children. The angsty five-minute speech McMorrow gave in response, which the author proudly dubs “The Speech,” was a rousing defense of Democratic efforts to prevent the removal of overly sexualized content from kindergarten classrooms. It was the primal scream of a “straight, white, Christian, married, suburban mom” who refused to let “hate win.” It was profound. “The room froze as those words hit the towering walls of the chamber like shots out of a cannon,” McMorrow recalls with Obamaesque self-pride. Naturally, this sent thrills up the legs of MSNBC employees and viewers alike. “I felt it in my soul,” Jonathan Capehart gushed.

Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett is facing backlash after images on social media appeared to show the left-wing firebrand cutting the line in front of passengers in wheelchairs while boarding a flight in Atlanta over the weekend.
Republican House Conference chair Lisa McClain posted the images on her personal campaign account Sunday, arguing Crockett was “abusing her power” by boarding in front of the passengers with disabilities. McClain’s post comes after Crockett called Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbot, who is paralyzed from the waist down and uses a wheelchair, “Governor Hot Wheels” while speaking at an LGBT advocacy event in Los Angeles in March.
Crockett, who is viewed by some in the media as a rising star within the Democratic Party, has frequently courted controversy during her time in Congress through attacks on President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans that have at times contained profanity.

A big problem arrived in Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis’s email inbox on the afternoon of Nov. 16, 2021.
It was a legal notice from an attorney representing Amanda Timpson, a former member of Willis’s executive staff who had been blowing the whistle on the district attorney’s office for allegedly trying to mishandle federal grant funds. Willis, the eight-page letter stated, had violated a slew of whistleblower protection laws when she reassigned Timpson to serve as a glorified file clerk following a brief meeting in July 2021 in which the district attorney refused to hear Timpson’s allegations. Timpson believed she had grounds for a lawsuit against Willis, but was willing to drop the matter in return for a modest severance package and a positive letter of recommendation from the district attorney.

Thursday, April 24, was a day like any other day—the sun came up, the sun went down, and President Donald Trump was hit with at least three nationwide injunctions by federal district court judges.
That’s just the way it goes if you are a president who wants to take back America from the entrenched left-wing bureaucracy and restore common sense to government before it is too late.
The danger of the bureaucracy was predicted by Julien Benda in his 1927 book “The Treason of the Clerks,” which warned of the danger of the intellectual class adopting political passions that had previously been the sole domain of the masses. We see this most distinctly today in the federal bureaucracy, which I dare say has the greatest concentration of degree-holders from Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia (and the like) of any sector in the nation, other than the incestuous universities themselves.
The treason that Benda described was the loss of independence of thought and dispassionate reason by intellectuals, and the accompanying subservience of intellect to political passions.

During his first 100 days in office, President Donald Trump acted with unprecedented speed to make major changes in government policies and root out the pervasive waste, fraud, and diversity, equity, and inclusion poisoning our government and its programs. Still, he was hampered by a handful of biased judges who abused their authority to keep him from implementing the policies the American people voted for.
Jurisdiction is limited to the federal districts where the hundreds of district court judges reside. However, some of these judges arrogantly assert that they can override the president in areas of core executive branch competency and issue sweeping injunctions that affect the entire nation. They even claim they can act on behalf of people who aren’t parties in the cases before them.
These judicial tyrants seem to believe that the Constitution gives them more power than the president to make decisions on the size of the federal government, how it spends its money, and whom it can hire and fire. They say they have a right to overrule the president’s national security judgment on issues that affect our relations with foreign governments, our military readiness, and the safety of the public from unchecked illegal immigration.

Eduardo Flores Ruiz, 30, was locked up in the Ozaukee County Jail awaiting further court action as of April 30.
He is accused of injuring three people in a recent domestic dispute, online records show.
The Mexico native is the defendant whom Judge Hannah Dugan is accused of assisting in an April 18 incident at the Milwaukee County Circuit Court.
Flores Ruiz appeared at the court for a hearing on that date, but it didn’t proceed, federal authorities say, after Dugan allegedly took actions to thwart Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers who were poised to arrest the defendant and begin deportation proceedings.
Federal officials accuse the judge of helping Flores Ruiz and his lawyer to exit through a restricted-use door. Officers, however, were able to arrest him after a foot chase outside the courthouse.
He was previously deported to his home country in 2013, before being accused in the domestic violence case that was assigned to Dugan, officials said.

It appears the legacy media and the Democrat (I repeat myself) narrative about the deported El Salvadoran “Maryland dad” is reaching its endgame as more information about his behavior comes to light.
According to multiple reports, House Democrat Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has privately told fellow Democrats to stop taking junkets down to El Salvador to visit the deported man in prison to perform supposed “welfare checks.” Jeffries has denied the report, but it wouldn’t be surprising.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, this long saga is about Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 gang member who was deported back to his home country as the Trump administration prioritizes deporting illegal aliens who are convicted criminals and gang members.

New York Attorney General Letitia James—already facing a federal criminal referral—now faces a potential state probe regarding her reporting of properties she owns in Virginia.
America First Legal, a conservative government watchdog, filed a bar complaint against James with the New York Committee on Professional Standards, seeking an investigation into the statements made in a criminal referral the Federal Housing Finance Agency sent to the U.S. Justice Department.
Long prominent in New York politics, James became a national figure when her office sued and won against then-former President Donald Trump when he was out of office and running for another term in 2024. She alleged Trump’s companies falsified information to obtain loans.
I dislike the term ‘watchdog’, which implies a degree of official sanction that rarely exists. I can’t think of a better one, though, for people who specialize in snooping on other people who may be doing something they don’t like; God knows there are enough of them on the Left, each and every one of which is called a ‘watchdog’ by the Narrative Media. My wife calls such people ‘Gladys’, the old busybody who is always peering out from behind the curtains at doings in the neighborhood of which she might disapprove–I guess the current tag is ‘Karen’.
Still, I’m glad that somebody is keeping an eye on James, who has shown a very Democrat devotion to abusing her office in pursuit of people she (and the people who vote for her) dislike.

The Democratic National Committee will consider a challenge to youth activist David Hogg’s election as vice chair, following allegations that the February vote “discriminated against three women of color candidates.”
Kalyn Free, a Native American activist and longtime Democratic Party operative, filed a complaint weeks after her loss to Hogg, arguing she lost a “fatally flawed election that violated the DNC Charter and discriminated against three women of color candidates” and calling for “two new vice chair elections,” Semafor reported.
The DNC notified its members on Monday that it will meet virtually on May 12 to consider Free’s challenge.

Violent youth crime is on the rise in the nation’s capital, but the Washington, D.C., attorney general’s office is focused on something else: doling out massive contracts to well-connected plaintiffs’ attorneys firms to sue left-wing bugaboos.
Since 2019, the D.C. attorney general’s office has awarded several lucrative contingency fee contracts to Edelson PC to help file consumer fraud lawsuits against prominent corporations—legal efforts that conservative watchdog groups say are designed to achieve left-wing policy wins at a nationwide scale. That includes a contract worth up to $170 million to help the attorney general’s office sue the manufacturers of PFAS chemicals, and a 2023 contract worth up to $55 million to help the district sue Facebook and other social media companies. And there’s one person at the center of many of the cases: former D.C. assistant deputy attorney general Jimmy Rock, a Democratic donor who left his taxpayer-funded post in late 2022 to head up Edelson’s new office in the nation’s capital.
Pursuing left-wing consumer fraud litigation is the sort of work Rock did when he managed the D.C. attorney general’s Public Advocacy Division, where he was the lead attorney in a January 2020 lawsuit against the Trump inaugural committee for allegedly overpaying Trump’s hotels for accommodations during the 2017 inauguration. Rock also represented the D.C. attorney general’s office in a 2018 lawsuit that sought to hold Facebook accountable for allegedly misusing user data during the 2016 elections. That lawsuit is on appeal after a D.C. judge ruled against the district attorney in 2023.

Washington, D.C., mayor Muriel Bowser (D.) lied about a $61,000 trip she took to Qatar, which she said was funded by two different U.S. organizations. The Hamas-harboring Middle Eastern nation actually funded the trip, according to a new report.
Bowser’s office initially claimed her December 2023 trip to the Qatari capital city of Doha was funded by the D.C. Chamber of Commerce before changing its story and saying the U.S. Conference of Mayors paid for the trip. Both claims are false, local station WJLA/ABC7 reported Monday. In reality, Qatar covered $61,930 in travel expenses for Bowser and four staff members, according to a letter from Qatar to the mayor’s office that WJLA obtained through a FOIA request.
The mayor failed to record the trip with the District of Columbia or sign a donation agreement, both of which are required by law, even though Qatar referred to the trip as an “in-kind donation,” according to WJLA. Now, two years after Bowser visited Qatar, her office plans to file a donation agreement, reaching out to Qatari officials in February for “a breakdown of the expenses the Qatari Government paid for.”

The second Donald Trump administration continues to ferret out racial favoritism in education and the federal workforce, and there is plenty to be found. The administration is now turning to K-12 classrooms and already has a good model to use for its latest order to end race-based quotas in school discipline.
On Wednesday, the White House issued an executive order on discipline, rejecting educators’ use of racial quotas when they mete out suspensions or expulsions among students. Such quotas have generated much discussion since President Barack Obama endorsed their use in 2014.
At the time, the Obama administration informed school personnel nationwide that if more minority students faced suspension or expulsion (called “exclusionary discipline”) than white students in their schools, the administration could open a civil rights investigation—regardless of the egregiousness of the student behavior and the appropriateness of the discipline.
