Seven months after a stinging loss to President Donald Trump, who used podcast appearances and internet virality in his campaign to his advantage, Democrats are still working on a digital strategy to regain political power.

Throughout the campaign, Trump was able to score a number of major podcast interviews on shows such as “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Theo Von’s “This Past Weekend,” and Logan Paul’s “ImPAULsive.”

“Speaking With American Men” (SAM) is the name of a new plan formulated by Ilyse Hogue, an abortion activist who thinks Democrats can regain lost ground with young men by pursuing a similar strategy.

Bonnie Westlin, DFL-Plymouth, said the passage of the bill represented “a shameful day in this body.”

The current unrest in Los Angeles and other major U.S. cities should serve as a wake-up call to the American public. When law enforcement finally starts doing its job under the leadership of President Donald Trump and border czar Tom Homan, chaos erupts. But not because of law enforcement. It’s because illegal aliens, who have been emboldened for years, are finally being held accountable.

Let’s be crystal clear. The term “illegal immigrant” is not a slur. It is a legal classification. Entering the United States without following proper legal channels is a crime. It is a willful violation of America’s immigration laws. Every person who crosses our border illegally has committed a federal offense. That makes them criminals by definition.

It doesn’t stop there. Illegal immigration is a gateway crime. It fuels a dangerous pipeline of drug smuggling, human trafficking, child exploitation, and cartel-driven violence. Coyotes, or human smugglers, charge thousands of dollars per migrant, many of whom never make it to their destination alive. The U.S. has no reliable data on how many illegal aliens have been kidnapped, forced into labor or sex trafficking, or used as drug mules by the cartels. But anyone who doubts this is happening is simply refusing to face reality.

And now, those same migrants are walking our streets in broad daylight. The images coming out of Los Angeles and places like Atlanta and Seattle are horrifying. Mobs are looting, fighting police, and openly defying the rule of law. These are not peaceful demonstrators. These are agitators who don’t even understand, let alone respect, the country they are trying to claim as their own. They are here illegally but act like they are entitled to special treatment.

And yet, they are protected by people like Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

A Democratic state lawmaker in New York has proposed a cap on the number of cows that farms in the state are allowed to maintain.

Legislation sponsored by Brooklyn Democratic State Senator Jabari Brisport proposed the cap to be set at 699. The bill would require the state to block the expansion or creation of a farm reaching or exceeding 700 cows.

The New York Post reported that Brisport and several other Democratic lawmakers who have signed the legislation in support believe that large farming operations pose threats ranging from greenhouse gases to manure runoff getting into streams, lakes, and rivers.

The Democrat compulsion to regulate businesses to death will eventually destroy New York.

Former President Joe Biden’s use of an autopen to sign official presidential documents has been revealed to be far more widespread than originally suspected, according to new revelations by the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project.

Oversight Project lead investigator Kyle Brosnan said his team pulled official proclamations from the National Archives for the first two years of the Biden administration.

“There’s around several hundred of them — and through that analysis, we were able to determine that there was a third autopen signature that was used to sign those proclamations” as early as his first year in office in 2021, he said.

Brosnan’s team uncovered that there are now three unique signatures that the Biden administration used via the autopen to sign documents during the former president’s four years in the White House. The uniform and flawless nature of the signatures across hundreds of documents suggests a mechanical output leading the team to uncover a third, previously undiscovered, use of the device.

Newsom II’s daughter, Barbara Newsom-Pelosi, married Ron Pelosi, the brother of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors for twelve years. Newsom III, Gavin’s dad, and Ron Pelosi both ran for state senate. And Rep. Nancy Pelosi is the daughter of Thomas D’Alesandro Jr, a congressman and the 41st mayor of Baltimore and the sister of Thomas D’Alesandro III, the 44th mayor of Baltimore.

The Newsom-Pelosi families made a good deal of their money from a crooked arrangement with Gov. Pat Brown’s administration in which Newsom II and John Pelosi, Nancy’s father-in-law, partnered together on a former 1960 Winter Olympics site that was summed up as California “paying for everything and getting nothing.” Pat’s son Jerry then appointed Gavin’s father to a judgeship and Gavin later replaced Brown as governor of California.

Last November, Donald Trump soundly defeated Kamala Harris among young men 18 to 29 years old, racking up about 56% of their votes according to the Associated Press. That represents a huge decline from 2008, the climax of the Barack Obama coalition, when the Democrat candidate won 62% of the young male vote against GOP challenger John McCain.

Clearly, Democrats have a young man problem—and they’ve vowed to do something about it. The Democratic Party’s widely ridiculed campaign to spend $20 million on a “strategic plan” to “study young men” was spearheaded by the former president of a left-wing activist group that supported efforts to “defund the police,” denounced the Supreme Court nomination of “frat boy” Brett Kavanaugh, and attacked “white women” for upholding “the patriarchy.”

Politico reports that Ilyse Hogue, former president of NARAL Pro-Choice America (now known as Reproductive Freedom for All), cofounded the Speaking with American Men project, or SAM for short, along with MSNBC contributor John Della Volpe and former Democratic congressman Colin Allred. In an interview with the Virginia-based news blog, Hogue argued the widespread mockery of the group’s efforts, which include “super charg[ing] social listening” and analyzing the “syntax, language and content that gains attention and virality” in male online communities, proved that they were on the right track.

“Democrats are seen as weak, whereas Republicans are seen as strong,” Hogue said. “Young men also spoke of being invisible to the Democratic coalition, and so you’ve got this weak problem and then you’ve got this ‘I don’t think they care about me’ problem, and I think the combination is kind of a killer.”

She is not, of course, a man, so this will be as fruitless as a transgender female.

California officials are taking another shot at undoing a voter-approved measure in the city of Huntington Beach that requires ID to vote.

California Secretary of State Shirley Weber and Attorney General Rob Bonta filed an appeal in the California 4th District Court of Appeals after an Orange County Superior Court backed Huntington Beach’s authority to require voter ID.

Local governments enacting their own election laws in California isn’t unheard of. The cities of Oakland and San Francisco allow noncitizens to vote in school board elections. However, in August 2024, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed Senate Bill 1174, which bars local election officials from requiring photo identification for elections.

Earlier this year, a group of Republican state legislators initiated the process for a ballot referendum to get voter ID statewide.

Always be aware of your “messaging.” These people have learned precisely nothing from the rise of Donald Trump. The lesson in Trump’s rise, distilled to its essence, is “be authentic.” No “messaging” massaging can be remotely helpful if you’re obviously an inauthentic liar.

Although “be authentic” is indeed part of the lesson that should have been learned, the substance of the message is very important as well. If the left was authentic it would turn even more people off.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is outpacing the National Republican Congressional Committee in fundraising, according to recent campaign finance disclosures. They show that at the end of April, the DCCC had hauled in $1 million more than its Republican counterpart.

In total, the DCCC raised $8.1 million, compared with the NRCC’s $7 million.

This snapshot of the fundraising numbers come as the 2026 midterm elections are shaping up, as usual, to be a fierce battle. Historically, midterm elections favor the party out of power, and Republicans currently hold slender margins in both the House and the Senate. Republicans hold 220 seats in the House and need at least 218 to maintain a majority in the 435-seat chamber. In the Senate, the GOP holds 53 of 100 seats.

Despite historical winds at their back, Democrats have struggled with their messaging since the November 2024 elections, especially with new revelations about President Joe Biden’s mental decline during his time in office.

Some members of the Democratic Party are raising concerns that many of their candidates have become too reliant on using elite-sounding phrases, which they claim is a type of language that could isolate working-class voters, according to The Washington Post. The article cites examples of left-wing words and phrases often used by Democrats, such as “oligarchs,” “equity,” “justice-involved populations,” and “intersectionality.”

“Some words are just too Ivy League-tested terms,” Democrat Arizona Sen. Ruben Gallego told The Washington Post. “I’m going to piss some people off by saying this, but ‘social equity’—why do we say that? Why don’t we say, ‘We want you to have an even chance’?”

Instead, he said he would work to unseat some Democrat incumbent legislators.

“People say they want change in the Democratic Party; but really, they want change so long as it doesn’t potentially endanger their position of power,” Hogg told The New York Times after announcing his intention to seek primary challengers for some Democrat incumbents.

It’s been more than six months, but Democrats are still picking over the cold, dead body of the 2024 election. The latest autopsy comes courtesy of Catalist, a Democratic data firm with a widely coveted voter database.

By now, you may feel that you know more about how Democrats lost last year than you ever wished to know. Which would be understandable. But Catalist’s findings are especially authoritative, as the firm tracks the actual voting behavior of 256 million Americans across all 50 states and the District of Columbia. In other words, they are not relying purely on surveys of how people said they would vote, but also hard data showing which party individual voters registered with, and which elections they did and did not show up for.

Previously, David Shor of Blue Rose Research released a 2024 analysis that drew partly on similar data sources. But Catalist boasts the longest-running voter database of any institution besides the Democratic and Republican Parties, as it has tracked the electorate’s behavior for over 15 years. Many, therefore, consider its characterizations of shifts in voting patterns to be uniquely trustworthy.

I found the results very entertaining. You can believe in its accuracy as much or as little as you care to, but at the very least it represents what Democrats are willing to admit.

On Wednesday’s Morning Joe, NBC News national affairs analyst John Heilemann made a rare admission that Hollywood and the “mainstream media” are “largely left of center” as he countered his colleague Anand Giridharadas claiming that Democrats have not been active enough in the “cultural process” to counter President Donald Trump.

During a discussion of what Democrats have been getting wrong in trying to run against Trump and how they should change tactics for the next big elections, co-host Joe Scarborough turned to Giridharadas and posed: “They’re not running against Donald Trump in 2028. Maybe they’re running against him a little bit in 2026, but they’re not running against him in 2028, right? So, but don’t they need to figure out who they are first?”

Hey, we’ve figured out who they are; that’s why we voted for Trump.

Brian Williams, who was charged by federal prosecutors Thursday, faces up to 10 years in federal prison.

Mayor Karen Bass announced in December that Williams had been put on administrative leave, meaning he likely has been collecting his $245,143 combined salary and benefits without any official duties. As deputy mayor for public safety, Williams would have overseen the city’s fire and police response during the devastating January wildfires.

The Department of Justice reports that during an online government meeting, Williams used his personal cellphone’s Google Voice app to call his city cellphone, then left the meeting and placed a call to the Los Angeles Public Department, saying he received a call from an unknown man with a threat to bomb Los Angeles City Hall.
