I know, that is a very high bar to get over. But consider: why did Joe Biden pardon more people, by a wide margin, than any other president? Documents have come to light that suggest Biden pardoned thousands, some of whom were violent criminals and most of whom had no apparent grounds for clemency, because he was being criticized for pardoning his degenerate partner in crime, his son Hunter. So he “flooded the zone” with thousands of names that no reporter had the time–or more important, the inclination–to track down.

As expected, Democrats are lining up in front of microphones, extending their sympathies to Charlie Kirk’s family, and making heartfelt speeches about the tragedy of violence in America today. They say that there is no place for vicious attacks like this, and they will do everything in their power to end this culture of violence. I should appreciate their kind words. But I don’t. They just make me angry.

My response to that apparently remorseful Democrat would be, “Look, your political party has gained power for decades by intentionally creating aggrieved groups and leveraging their resentments and jealousies to create a divided society that you think helps you in the polls.  You have built this divided, angry society.  Intentionally.  And you have profited from it.  So even if you do feel bad for Charlie Kirk, I suggest you keep that to yourself.  Just shut the %$#@ up.  I don’t want to hear it.  You can’t throw a firebomb into a school, then express regret that innocent children died.  So just shut up.  Please.  You have nothing to say, here.  So you should say nothing.“

Mr. Kirk’s murder is enraging.  But the professed sympathies of Democrats is much, MUCH more enraging.

CNN pays former Obama official Juliette Kayyem to be a national security and terrorism analyst, but on Saturday’s Table for Five, she demanded we all “stop looking” for a motive in the assassination of Charlie Kirk because we may never know. Despite the show airing on a different day, at a different time, and having a different name than her daily NewsNight program, host Abby Phillip continued her tradition of not interrupting her liberal guests.

ayyem was set off by GOP strategist Lance Trover, who made a completely reasonable point when he asked, “Well, will the rhetoric get toned down? I mean, again, I go back to what was on the bullet from this kid was fascism. And that’s only coming from one side currently in this debate. And it’s on every placard and every poster around the country. I mean, I think it’s a valid question, but are they going to live up to what they say they’re going to do with the Nazi and fascism and the like?”

Enmity consumes the Democrat Party, based not on hostility to certain ideas but hatred of certain individuals, chief among them President Trump and his friends and advisers. Crime in Charlotte, North Carolina, spiked under a left-leaning district attorney before the August stabbing death of a woman on a public train thrust the city into the national spotlight.

Violent crime in Charlotte was 13% higher in 2024 than in 2018, despite decreases after a COVID-19-era crime surge, according to FBI data that records homicide, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Left-wing officials such as Democrat Mecklenburg County District Attorney Spencer Merriweather, who has focused on promoting racial equity in the justice system, are now under renewed scrutiny since the Aug. 22 arrest of a mentally ill suspect with a lengthy criminal history in the murder of Ukrainian immigrant Iryna Zarutska.

When I served as an Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) cadet at Fordham University in New York City, the Department of War paid for my degree in American Studies. During my coursework, I read books like The New Jim Crow and was bombarded with the claim that the country I had signed up to defend was irredeemably racist and broken. My civilian classmates and professors were overwhelmingly liberal, and the university was in the capital of liberalism. I spent most of my time in that milieu as opposed to dedicated environments conducive to military formation.

ROTC should be nowhere near Fordham University. In fact, the Trump Administration should end ROTC programs in blue states, leftist cities, and anti-American universities, focusing instead on institutions that actually love America. Training military officers in environments that serve the national interest is a critical step toward restoring the U.S. military as a whole.

No longer should ROTC programs be benefactors of the woke and weaponized higher education system. The colleges and universities that ROTC cadets attend—and that the federal government pays for—shouldn’t feature Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) quotas, the teaching of Critical Race Theory and other divisive ideologies, and the promotion of gay and lesbian lifestyles.

MSNBC has fired political analyst Matthew Dowd, after he suggested that conservative activist and TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on Wednesday, had it coming – Variety reports.

During coverage of Kirk’s shooting, anchor Katy Tur asked Dowd about “the environment in which a shooting like this happens” – a disgusting framing in itself, to which Dowd replied: “He’s been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech or sort of aimed at certain groups. And I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions. And I think that is the environment we are in. You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and not expect awful actions to take place. And that’s the unfortunate environment we are in.”

A demonic article from the rabid leftist website Jezebel has come back to haunt its editors following the murder of TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk.

wo days before a gunman killed Kirk in cold blood during an event at Utah Valley University, Jezebel called upon witches to perform some hocus pocus against the conservative activist: “We Paid Some Etsy Witches to Curse Charlie Kirk.” The sub-headline needs no explanation: “If the far-right misogynist with a bad haircut wants to villainize independent women, Jezebel is more than happy to be the hag of his nightmares.” If this doesn’t classify as pure evil we don’t know what does.

Apparently, the outlet was wishing for some sort of demonic entity to shut Kirk up for good: “Now, is it ethical to curse a man I’ve never met? Probably not. But is it unethical to let him keep talking? Yes. So here we are, in the gray area.”

Confirmation of the attack on Kirk’s life didn’t stop Wikipedia from making sure site visitors who only read his biography came away with a negative impression. Minutes after the news broke that conservative influencer and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University, ABC News broke in and seemingly suggested he had it coming for his “controversial” views and for going to a campus that didn’t want him there. “ABC news has confirmed conservative activists and podcaster Charlie Kirk has been shot during an event at Utah Valley University,” announced correspondent Kyra Phillips. “The founder of Turning Point USA, a conservative student organization, is known for his outspoken views on politics, culture, religion, often taking his messages to colleges and universities, sparking sometimes pretty heated debates on campus.”     She quickly brought on chief investigative correspondent Aaron Katersky, who pointed out that Kirk went to the UVU campus despite outrage from the liberal members of the student body: You’re right, his presence there at the university had divided the campus, according to an article in the school paper, where there were people on both sides debating whether he should even be allowed to bring his message, often loyal to the agenda of President Trump, to campus. But he was speaking at this outdoor event in a courtyard. Following Katersky’s report, Phillips pivoted to speak to far-left chief White House correspondent Mary Bruce and doubled down on justifying the attack: “It’s no secret that Kirk has said a number of controversial things over the years, in particular about DEI, Jews, women, LGBTQ community, people of color.”     “He is a massive figure, of course, in the conservative movement. He has been close to President Trump. Of course, I think back to –  I think it was last December when then President-elect Donald Trump spoke at a big Turning Point USA conference,” noted Bruce.

The Internal Revenue Service has reportedly fired Holly Paz, a senior official and longtime deputy to Lois Lerner, over her role in the Obama-era Tea Party targeting scandal, multiple sources confirmed in an online report.

The move marks the latest step by acting IRS Commissioner and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to “de-weaponize” the agency.

Paz, who most recently led the IRS Large Business and International Division, was terminated Monday after being placed on administrative leave last month following an internal review. She previously served as Lerner’s top aide when the IRS came under fire in 2013 for applying heightened scrutiny to conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status. A Treasury inspector general report later confirmed that “inappropriate criteria” were used, sparking years of litigation and congressional hearings.

The Democratic mayor of the city where a Ukrainian refugee was allegedly stabbed to death by a known criminal has called for “compassion” for the suspect.

Vi Lyles, the mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina, said she did not want to “villianise” Decarlos Brown Jr, who is accused of murdering Iryna Zarutska, 23, in an unprovoked attack.

Ms Lyles said that Charlotte “must do better” for people like Mr Brown, who is homeless, as they “need help and have no place to go”.

The comments led to calls on social media for Ms Lyles to resign, with some branding her a “total lunatic” and calling for Donald Trump to send in the National Guard.

This week, a U.S. senator from Virginia flatly rejected the central principle of the Declaration of Independence.

“The notion that rights don’t come from laws and don’t come from the government but come from the creator—that’s what the Iranian government believes,” Sen. Tim Kaine, a Democrat who ran for vice president alongside Hillary Clinton, said during a confirmation hearing Wednesday. “It’s a theocratic regime that bases its rule on Shia law and targets Sunnis, Bahá’is, Jews, Christians, and other religious minorities. And they do it because they believe they understand what natural rights are from their creator.”

“The notion that our rights do not come from our laws or our government should make people very, very nervous,” Kaine said.

Fresh revelations about Joe Biden’s autopen scandal paint a picture so damning that even his most loyal defenders should be squirming in their seats. Internal emails obtained by the New York Post show a White House in complete disarray, with staff frantically scrambling to figure out whether Biden actually knew what documents were being signed in his name.

Yet Trump took office governing like FDR in his first 100 days. Now into his third “hundred days,” Trump is still doing so. And this is a president who was twice impeached and once defeated: No impeached president has ever been reelected (let alone a twice-impeached one), and the last time a defeated president was reelected occurred over 130 years ago.

How is this continued momentum possible? Democrats’ extremism is making them even less popular.

Democratic strategists think the party has a messaging problem. Post-election autopsies overflowed with countless cross-tabs of how Democrats “underperformed” with demographic after demographic. There are endless debates about which words poll better (should Democrats stop using “microaggression”?) — as if anybody were even listening.

Third Way’s “Signal Project” exemplifies this paralysis. The center-left think tank launched an 18-month project to identify which Trump actions are “most relevant to key voters.” Their profound discovery? “Shuttering USAID, using government power to attack political opponents, firing indiscriminately, degrading the civil service, releasing J6ers, or blaming Ukraine for the Russian invasion all are a combination of unwise, unethical, illegal, or unconstitutional,” according to Axios. “But none resonate much with key voters.” Who knew?

Should we say “working families” or “working people”? Frame ourselves as “Team Normal” versus “Team Extreme”? Who notices? House Democrats test “America is too expensive” versus “People Over Politics.” Say “poor,” or say “economically disadvantaged”? “Addiction” or “substance use disorder”? Who cares?

Yet, leading Democrats seem to think that if only they spend another $50 million to identify the right message for lost working-class voters, they can “win them back” (tellingly, the “them” in the “Win Them Back Fund” gives away the flawed premise of the project).

In the US, gun deaths are often the focus of progressive and international criticism, with claims that the nation is a wellspring of violence and murder that could be solved simply by banning firearms. The disdain of the political left for the 2nd Amendment is no secret and their efforts to erase gun rights from the Constitution is a constant point of contention within American society.

Of course, this means that Democrats are required to ignore every other contributing factor to any shooting and deflect when they are confronted with inconvenient truths. Leftists are, once again, attempting to redirect public discourse as yet another trans shooter has hit the news feeds. The Minneapolis killer is one of at least five active shooters since 2018 that were confirmed as transgender.

Multiple other active shooter events have taken place in which the trans status of the killers was suspected but never revealed by authorities (authorities tried to hide Audrey Hale’s trans status and her manifesto, for example).

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., called for the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to be used against President Donald Trump on Friday, suggesting he was unfit, during a discussion about his removal of Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors.

“It is time to call for Article [Amendment] 25 of the Constitution of the United States of America to determine his unfitness, to determine that something’s wrong with this president. And I would suggest that we move very aggressively to talk about the danger to this country and to our democracy and not play around with this, because this is absolutely one of the most destructive things that this president could do,” Waters said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Weeknight.”

I think it would be more to the point to ask what’s wrong with Maxine Waters, possibly the ugliest and most vindictive person now walking the earth.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson will sign an executive order Saturday laying out initial plans for how the city will try to resist President Donald Trump’s planned immigration crackdown in the coming days.

The mayor’s order provides guidance and directives to the city’s agencies and law enforcement “in the midst of escalating threats from the federal government.” CNN previously reported the Trump administration is preparing to conduct a major immigration enforcement operation in Chicago as soon as next week, according to multiple sources familiar with the planning.

The mayor’s order “affirms” that Chicago police will not “collaborate with federal agents on joint law enforcement patrols, arrest operations, or other law enforcement duties including civil immigration enforcement.”

The order also “urges” federal law enforcement officers who operate in Chicago “to refrain from wearing masks, to wear and use body cameras and to identify themselves to members of the public with names and badge numbers.” Johnson reiterated the city’s police force will be required to wear attire that clearly identifies them.

Johnson’s order also directs city departments to “pursue all available legal and legislative avenues to resist coordinated efforts from the federal government” that violate the rights of Chicagoans.
The mayor’s order ultimately demands Trump “stand down” from deploying military forces to Chicago for immigration enforcement – but it’s not clear how effective it will be in stopping Trump’s plans.

Trump will not only ignore it but he will actively tar Chicago Democrats as the ‘scofflaw party’ and the ‘pro-crime’ party.

When Taylor Lorenz breaks a story on Democrat dark money, you know something strange is happening. Lorenz, who has made a career as the poster child for progressive social media culture, finally turned her reporting lens onto her own side. And what she uncovered in Wired is pretty dark: a secret program bankrolled by one of the largest Democrat dark money machines in America, designed to quietly pay off dozens of high-profile influencers to steer young voters toward the left.

Two years before a shooter opened fire on students attending daily mass in Minneapolis, the leaders of independent and Catholic schools in Minnesota begged Democrat Governor Tim Walz for help securing their schools, according to a 2023 letter reviewed by The Daily Wire. The funding was never authorized.

In a letter dated April 14, 2023 that specifically addressed “school safety in nonpublic schools,” Tim Benz, the president of MINNDEPENDENT and Jason Adkins, the executive director of the Minnesota Catholic Conference, stressed an “urgent and critical need in Minnesota to make sure our schools are secure and safe” in light of “recent, and continuing attacks, on our schools in this country and in our state.”

The letter says there are about 72,000 students in Independent, Catholic, Jewish, Christian and Muslim nonpublic schools within the state of Minnesota. It came just weeks after the shooting at a Christian school in Tennessee, which was also carried about by a transgender-identifying individual in their twenties.

My, what a surprise.

We have previously discussed the lack of a credible defense for Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan, who has been charged with facilitating the escape of an undocumented man being sought by federal officers in her courthouse. Indeed, despite having high-powered lawyers such as Paul Clement, her recent social media posts seem more like a pitch for jury nullification. One bright spot for Dugan was that she was assigned to U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman, a liberal Democrat who has run for prior office and has been accused of bias on the bench.

However, Judge Adelman just delivered a blow to the defense by rejecting Dugan’s claim that she had judicial immunity in taking her actions.

IN A PRIVATE group chat in June, dozens of Democratic political influencers discussed whether to take advantage of an enticing opportunity. They were being offered $8,000 per month to take part in a secretive program aimed at bolstering Democratic messaging on the internet.

But the contract sent to them from Chorus, the nonprofit arm of a liberal influencer marketing platform, came with some strings. Among other issues, it mandated extensive secrecy about disclosing their payments and had restrictions on what sort of political content the creators could produce.

In their group chat, influencers debated the details.

“Should we send a joint email (with all of our email addresses) … or, are we just going to send things separately and hope they change everything for everyone?” Laurenzo, a nonbinary creator in Columbus, Ohio, with over 884,000 TikTok followers, asked the group. Some joked about collective bargaining. “Any Newsies fans here?” Eliza Orlins, a public defender and reality TV star known for her appearances on Survivor, posted in the group. “‘We’re a union just by sayin’ so!’”

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson repeatedly skirted a question about whether federal funding for 5,000 more police officers would make his city safer in a Tuesday interview on MSNBC.

Appearing on “Morning Joe” on the cable network President Donald Trump calls “MSDNC” — DNC for Democratic National Committee — Johnson, a progressive Democrat who staunchly defends the city’s sanctuary policies, dodged questions five times about whether more police would help stem crime in Chicago.

“Would you also like to get federal funding to help put 5,000 cops on the streets in Chicago? Would that help drive down crime?” host Joe Scarborough began.

Axios has a story out this week that disclosed that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) continued to pay off the debts from former Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. Over $15 million has already been paid out by the DNC, which is reportedly struggling to raise money in the aftermath of a failed campaign.

Axios described it as a “private agreement” that was not disclosed to donors, who unknowingly contributed to the Harris campaign rather than the campaigns to retake the House and Senate.

The question is whether such private agreements are lawful if not disclosed to donors.

Harris shocked many in burning through over $1.5 billion in her brief 15-week campaign. Donors were irate over wasteful and excessive spending by Harris and her campaign. That has contributed to the poor fundraising figures reported from the DNC.

Hey,  nobody can spend money on nothing like a Democrat.

Anyone who knows the epic history of the Minnesota Democratic Farmer-Labor Party will tell you that its internal politics have often been contentious. But out of that contention have come some of the most dynamic figures to ever grace the national political scene: from presidential candidates Eugene McCarthy, Walter Mondale and Hubert Humphrey to more contemporary leaders on the left, such as the late US Senator Paul Wellstone, former US representative and now Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, and US Representative Ilhan Omar.

The DFL is also a party where grassroots activists have often lifted up political outsiders and activists and put them on paths to prominence. So it wasn’t all that surprising when, on July 19, the Minneapolis DFL endorsed the mayoral campaign of just such a rising star: state Senator Omar Fateh, a democratic socialist who has championed bold efforts to expand affordable housing and rent stabilization, supported a $20-an-hour minimum wage and taken up the cause of unionized and non-unionized workers.

Fateh’s focus on affordability issues and his energetic challenge to Democratic Party lethargy have garnered comparisons to New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani—another young, Muslim, democratic socialist anti-establishment candidate—with some calling Fateh “the Mamdani of Minneapolis.” Fateh has embraced those comparisons. After Mamdani’s landslide victory over former Governor Andrew Cuomo in June’s New York City mayoral primary, Fateh declared, “Minneapolis Next!”

The problem is that Mandami looks like a handsome intelligent South Asian, while Fateh looks like an undernourished ‘aspiring rapper’. Looks matter a lot in politics. Obama wouldn’t have been President had he looked like Maxine Waters.

Insha Rahman, vice president of advocacy and partnerships of the far-left criminal justice reform group, Vera Institute of Justice, caused an uproar on social media after she told Democrats on Monday that migrant crime and carjackings “don’t matter to that many Americans.”

During a political strategy session about crime and safety at the Democratic National Committee’s summer meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Rahman urged Democrats to seize on President Donald Trump’s crime crackdown, calling it a “political liability.”

“Trump is not about safety,” Rahman said. “This is a political power grab, and he will do it however he can, whether that’s at the ballot box or taking over our cities.”

While Rahman focused her remarks on how Democrats can reject Republicans’ “tough on crime scare tactics,” the Vera Institute, where the Democratic strategist serves as a senior official, has a long record of supporting defunding the police.

Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom is moving ahead with a controversial plan to redraw his state’s congressional maps by overriding the state’s non-partisan redistricting commission to counter redistricting moves by Republican lawmakers in Texas.

Newsom has launched a $100 million campaign that is backed by Planned Parenthood, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the California Teachers Association (CTA) and the California Federation of Labor Unions and a handful of billionaire donors.

However, serious concerns remain as to whether Newsom’s plan can survive legal scrutiny for a number of reasons.

In 2010, a decisive percentage of California voters (62-38) passed Prop 20 which took redistricting out of the hands of politicians and created an independent citizens commission in the state constitution.

Constitutional attorney Mark Meuser says Newsom’s redistricting plan would violate California’s constitution by holding hearings on a bill less than 30 days after introduction and by drawing maps without authority.

Meuser also says Newsom’s plan runs afoul of the state constitution by drawing maps contrary to its requirements and by drawing mid-decade maps, which are prohibited.

Democrats have never let laws or constitutions stand in their way, as Wilson and FDR demonstrated.

A left-leaning think tank is urging Democrats to stop repelling normal human beings with the use of a deep grab-bag of woke words and phrases. The road to electoral Hell is paved with good intentions, writes Third Way: “The intent of this language is to include, broaden, empathize, accept, and embrace. The effect of this language is to sound like the extreme, divisive, elitist, and obfuscatory, enforcers of wokeness.”

Third Way is far from the first to warn leftists that their language is off-putting. Bill Maher has repeatedly pummeled them, and Vice President JD Vance has too, telling Laura Ingraham, “I mean, look, the autopsy for the Democrats, some free political advice from the president of the United States is: stop sounding like crazy people.”

However, Third Way’s communique is distinguished by its long and specific list of annoying jargon. “In this memo, we are putting a spotlight on the language we use that puts a wall between us and everyday people of all races, religions, and ethnicities. These are words that people simply do not say, yet they hear them from Democrats,” said Third Way, which describes itself as a group of “passionate moderates” but is, in practice, an organization of center-leftists that evolved out of a gun control group, Americans for Gun Safety, and is led by a career Democratic pol, Jonathan Cowan.

Activist Democratic Party judges have done everything possible to throw monkey wrenches into Trump administration initiatives. In many instances, they have issued orders purporting to block executive actions without even hearing from the administration. I haven’t tried to keep count, but I think most of those orders have been stayed or reversed on appeal.

But Democratic Party judges are not easily deterred. In several cases, they have violated the rule of law by flouting Supreme Court orders and refusing to follow Supreme Court decisions.

“We had so much money it was hard to get it out the door,” a Kamala ally said after the election even as her campaign was still sending out texts to donors begging them to send more cash.

“Hi Team, It’s Kamala, The election isn’t what we wanted, but I will never give up the fight,” a post-election text message solicited donors to replace all the money that went out the door. In Jan 2025, even as President Trump was preparing for his inauguration, the ‘Harris Fight Fund’ was still milking recurring donations even though there was nothing left to fight for anymore.

Whether or not Kamala was giving up the fight, she certainly wasn’t giving up fleecing donors.

Birthing person/inseminated person … Latinx … subverting norms … housing insecurity … a “justice-involved individual,” formerly known as an inmate.

• A blunt memo from Third Way, a center-left think tank run by lifelong Democrats, implores opponents of President Trump to ditch jargon that’s off-putting and even “deeply alienating” to many of the mainstream voters the party needs to win back.

“Whatever your intentions, when you refer to a pregnant woman as a ‘birthing person’ or a felon as a ‘justice-involved individual,’ you are not growing the tent, you’re making it smaller. Matt Bennett, a Third Way co-founder, tells Axios.

• The memo — “Was It Something I Said?” — is addressed “To: All Who Wish to Stop Donald Trump and MAGA.”
• “The aim,” Bennett said, “is to help persuade public-facing allies — mostly elected officials and candidates, but also advocates — to use words their high school classmates use … Just talk like a normal person, for chrissakes.”

Between the lines: The memo acknowledges that “some will take issue with the inclusion of words or phrases we ask Democrats to avoid when talking to the public. And to reiterate, we have used some of these phrases in our own writings in the past.”

• But Third Way says many of the words are “a red flag for a sizable segment of the American public. It is not because they are bigots, but because they fear cancellation, doxing, or trouble with HR if they make a mistake. Or they simply don’t understand what these terms mean and become distrustful of those who use them. So instead, they keep quiet.”

That seems a bit too strong. I tend to agree with whoever said “Never attribute to malice what can be explained adequately by incompetence.” True, the cities are being destroyed by Woke policies and those Woke policies, but it appears to be a step too far to conclude that their intentions are to destroy the cities.

In the law there is a distinction between “general intent” and “specific intent”. If I shoot a gun and it wounds you, I definitely had the intent to shoot the gun (“general intent”) but it remains an open question whether I intended to shoot you (“specific intent”). If one cannot prove specific intent, one is left with only negligence for a cause of action.
