Jim Goad is somewhat irritated.
Last Tuesday’s deeply anticipated/dreaded “Blue Wave” that threatened to engulf the midterm elections turned into an underwhelming Blue Trickle, and white women are getting blamed for it. If you recall, they also got blamed for electing Donald Trump when exit polls suggested that 53% of the Caucasian Sisterhood voted for him.
“White women gonna white,” lamented Elie Mystal, a doughy, smirking black man who makes a living complaining about living in a country that affords him the sort of wealth and comfort that would be unimaginable in his backward, disease-ridden Motherland.
(In case you need an interpreter, “[Blank] gonna [blank]” is one of those ghetto linguistic inanities along the lines of “it is what it is.” By saying that “White women gonna white,” Mystal is saying that white women are going to do stupidly racist and unforgivably selfish things because that’s what white women do. It’s almost as if they can’t help themselves, but maybe if we bark at them and yell at them and relentlessly shame them they’ll realize that we, not they, know what’s best for them, and there’s nothing bigoted or condescending about that at all, so why the hell aren’t they listening to us?)

The President retains – has indeed strengthened – his power to make judicial, and some other key administration, appointments. While the House can block Republicans’ legislative plans, the Senate can block Democrats’ plans in return, so political gridlock could be at hand. And without a Senate majority, any ambitions the Democrats might harbour for impeachment will go nowhere.
The judges and the bureaucracy are the important things right now. Republicans need to lock in their gains there the way Democrats have been doing for the last 60 years.

Steve Sailer is not afraid to ask the obvious questions.
In the U.S., local cops have an admirable record of not falling for many Hate Hoaxes.
…
On the other hand, cops in Britain appear fairly enthusiastic about persecuting violations of political correctness in social media or somebody saying something rude on a bus. Those are somewhat different than Hate Hoaxes of course. Do British cops do a good job of unraveling Hate Hoaxes?

Second best: Breakfast on a Bun from Whataburger.
Acceptable: Egg McMuffin from McDonalds, Croissanwich from Burger King
Best value: Breakfast Jack Sandwich from Jack in the Box.

John Hinderaker, a Real Lawyer at Powerline, takes a look.
You may well be surprised that Hondurans currently located in Mexico have rights under the U.S. Constitution. The complaint appears to be premature at best. But the reality is that asylum represents a massive loophole in our immigration laws. Asylum is supposed to be available to people who face persecution in their home countries on grounds of religion, race, etc. It was never intended to apply wholesale to entire populations on the ground that their country is poorly governed.
So I thought.

Israel has developed and used a more powerful version of its decade old Stuxnet malware to infect and damage Iranian networks and strategic systems. The new Stuxnet has not received a name (as have earlier Stuxnet successors like Duqu, Gauss and Flame) but the impact was so serious and the rumors and gossip inside Iran so widespread and detailed that the Iranian government admitted at the end of October that there had been an attack but that it “was being controlled.” In Iran that’s government-speak for “we got a major problem and we’d rather not talk about it.”

The problem is with who’s left standing. They are a very large group. Parents have been known to complain. The deans are ready for them: yes, her scores were great, but other people’s scores were even better.
But what if they weren’t? We have a system of college admission that proclaims—shouts—that it is based almost wholly on merit. Yes, it is admitted, there are legacies and athletes and diversity as well, but those who benefit from those categories must also have met very high standards of measured academic ability. Their threshold is also pretty daunting. At our most prestigious schools, this is often true.
And Harvard is at the very least one of our top schools. So what is that lawsuit all about?
As an undergraduate at Yale in the mid-1970s, I was in a seminar taught by Jack Hexter, whom I encourage you to look up, devoted to the writing of history. One of the participants was a Yale Law student, who happened to be black, and we undergraduate were all stunned by how (a) ignorant and (b) incompetent he was. He knew very little history and could barely write a coherent sentence.

Until now, there has been a libertarian third candidate in the race — Rick Breckenridge. He doesn’t show up in the polls I’ve seen. However, David Parker, an associate professor of political science at Montana State University, says that Breckenridge is polling at about 2 percent.
Breckenridge has said he expects 3 to 4 percent of the vote. In 2012, the Libertarian candidate won more than 6 percent off the vote, aided, some say, by mailers sent by Tester supporters hoping to divide the opposition vote.
Now, Breckenridge has dropped out the race and endorsed Rosendale. He complained about the sending of anti-Rosendale mailers sent anonymously on his behalf — a repeat of the tactic used to help Tester in 2012.

In the last two weeks, Candace Owens has exploded onto the political scene. Beginning with Kanye West’s famous tweet, her life has been a whirlwind of television and radio appearances and speeches. The Left is attacking her viciously, while some on the right view her as a potential savior.
Candace spent yesterday in Minnesota. As Scott described here, she spoke at a lunch forum for Center of the American Experiment, the think tank that I run. We booked Candace before her sudden burst of publicity–sometimes you get lucky–and ticket sales went through the roof as her fame grew. Ultimately, 550 people attended the lunch forum. Candace said that she was stunned both by the size of the crowd and the warmth of her reception.
