The White House on Monday released a “Bidenomics” report that touted the “rapidly growing” electric vehicle market. Just hours later, Ford announced plans to cut the production of its electric truck in half, citing insufficient demand.
The report, which came from White House chief economist Heather Boushey, claimed the “U.S. consumer market for EVs is rapidly growing” and touted President Joe Biden’s efforts to meet that “growing demand by setting ambitious goals for accelerating the EV transition.” Ford threw cold water on those claims hours later, when a leaked memo from the automaker revealed that it plans to produce just 1,600 F-150 Lightnings per week in 2024, a significant reduction from the 3,200 it initially planned to produce. The memo said “changing market demands” motivated the cuts.
“We’ll continue to match production with consumer demand,” a Ford spokeswoman said.

Over the weekend, border-policy negotiations between Senate Democrats and Republicans fell apart. The talks were meant to firm up Republican support for the president’s massive $105 billion military support proposal ahead of Wednesday’s vote by including additional funds for border security in the spending package. Now, with no imminent approval of further aid to Ukraine, hawks in government and the media are trying to stoke panic about what will happen if Kyiv is cut off from US support.

The border crisis is a disaster for the rule of law. Approximately five million inadmissible migrants have already entered during Joe Biden’s presidency, and the numbers continue to climb. Far from attempting to block the flow, the Biden Administration is actually facilitating it, inviting migrants without visas to come to the U.S. to receive “parole” or other temporary status. The legal situation has deteriorated to the point where the administration effectively claims the right to wave through any migrants it wants, from whatever countries it wants, at any time it wants.

From a certain perspective, the Aegis combat system was one of the worst developments in the history of the Navy. It directly led to the [literal] sinking of an entire class of the best ASW destroyer ever built and has resulted in expensive ships with permanently degraded radar systems. Worse, there was an alternative to Aegis which was the New Threat Upgrade (NTU) program which would have modernized the existing conventional radars and combat systems, providing much the same capabilities.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has issued some surprising remarks claiming that Lebanon-based Hezbollah and Gaza-based Hamas can procure more weapons anytime they want utilizing the thriving arms black market in Ukraine. He suggested this is already happening while addressing a conference in Doha Monday.
He went so far as to say these groups, which the US has listed as terror organizations, can “easily” and “without much effort” get whatever they need in Ukraine.

Research firm TechInsights reports Huawei Technologies Co.’s Mate 60 Pro smartphone continues to “bypass technological embargos” by Washington. Further examination of the smartphone has shown considerable progress in Chinese design and engineering of radio-frequency chips.
The new analysis of the Mate 60 Pro shows China is quickly progressing in developing high-tech chips despite technological embargos by the Biden administration.
“This progress isn’t just in the application processor system-on-chip (SoC) but also in the 5G BaseBand processor and mobile RF technologies,” the report stated.

There is an old meme where a guy is up late at night and his wife asks him why he is not in bed. He says, “There is a guy on the internet saying things I don’t like.” Most people are not like this, but the weirdness of this new thing depends on that reality at the start. You are not supposed to care about the words of anonymous weirdos.
That is the place to start with yet another example of the regime losing its mind over people holding the wrong opinion about the 2020 election. Here is a breakdown of the charges the Biden administration is bringing against Trump over the peaceful protests on January 6. The first thing to note is the prosecutor is using the crackpot idea of stochastic violence, which was cooked up by mentally unstable people on Twitter who thought mean tweets would cause them physical harm.
Note also that the core of the case against Trump here and in all of the January 6th persecutions is that the offenders are election denier. In many of these cases, the judge, as a part of the punishment, makes the accused say in open court that he now believes Biden won fair and square. You can be sure that the main goal of these charges against Trump is to get him to do the same. The regime and its volunteer army of toadies is obsessed with this idea.

A major case pending before the U.S. Supreme Court (Moore v. United States) is calling into question one of those provisions. Depending on how the court rules, large portions of the U.S. tax base could quickly become legally uncertain, putting significant revenue at stake.
Statist pocket-pickers love the idea of ‘taxing’ (stealing) part (or all) of the increase in value of an asset–your stocks went up in price? Well, that means you’re richer, so we get to wet out beaks. Your stocks went down in price? Sorry, dude, that’s your problem, not ours; you shoulda picked better stocks. Unfortunately (from their point of view) current law doesn’t let them do that, and that’s what this case is all about.

Europe is in turmoil over the mass migration policies of the EU elites. Migration has become a dominant, divisive issue across the European Union from eastern Germany to southern Italy—and in the UK.
Geert Wilders’ populist PVV party shocked the Brussels ‘bubble’ by finishing first in November’s Dutch elections, after pledging to cut “the asylum and immigration flood to the Netherlands” and ban mosques and Islamic schools. In the same month Dublin was convulsed by riots, sparked by the stabbing of three Irish schoolchildren and a woman by an Algerian-born knifeman. Meanwhile, nervous European cities have witnessed angry pro-Hamas protests by Islamist migrants, aided and abetted by their useful idiots on the Islamoleft.
The response of the panicking European authorities has been to brand anybody who speaks out about the problems connected to mass migration as ‘far right’ extremists who should be cancelled, censored, banned, or even arrested. But they cannot silence the growing disquiet.

Here is the best-kept secret about U.S. military aid to Ukraine: Most of the money is being spent here in the United States. That’s right: Funds that lawmakers approve to arm Ukraine are not going directly to Ukraine but are being used stateside to build new weapons or to replace weapons sent to Kyiv from U.S. stockpiles. Of the $68 billion in military and related assistance Congress has approved since Russia invaded Ukraine, almost 90 percent is going to Americans, one analysis found.

Founded in 2020 in the aftermath of the George Floyd protests, the Black Legacy Project describes itself as “a musical celebration of black history to advance racial solidarity, equity and belonging.” It brings together artists of all backgrounds “to record present day interpretations of songs central to the Black American experience and compose originals relevant to the pressing calls for change of our time.”
A similar arts group, Nu Art Education Inc., an offshoot of the NorCal School for the Arts, says it is “following the theory of change that utilizing theater arts” can be “a tool to teach and practice conflict resolution in the classroom.”
While both outfits share a mission of using the arts to inspire social change, they have something else in common: counterterrorism. Or rather, both have received taxpayer grants through the Department of Homeland Security’s “Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention” (TVTP) program. Together, the two groups have received more than $1.4 million since the Biden administration doubled the program’s annual budget, to some $20 million per year.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday will hear arguments in a case that hinges on whether, as a legal matter, Congress can blend powers the Framers of the Constitution carefully kept separated.
In Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) v. Jarkesy, the justices will determine the constitutionality of the agency’s system of in-house administrative law judges (ALJs), bureaucrats who often act as judge and jury in the agency’s enforcement actions. Since many federal agencies—including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Postal Service—utilize ALJs, the case’s outcome will reverberate across the administrative state.
George Jarkesy, whom the SEC accuses of securities fraud, argues that the ALJ system violates the Seventh Amendment, which guarantees the right to a jury trial. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit ruled for Jarkesy in 2022. Should the Supreme Court do likewise, countless Americans would regain access to a foundational constitutional protection.

Education Secretary Miguel Cardona hosted a meeting this month with an anti-Israel activist who has praised Hamas and Hezbollah and called for violence against Israel.
Cardona on Nov. 15 met with 13 activists—including Palestine Legal advocacy manager Lina Assi—to address the “extremely disturbing pattern of hate and threats of violence in schools and college campuses” following Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel. Assi has called Iran and its terrorist proxy, Hezbollah, “crucial and important” in “resisting imperialism” in the Middle East. As a student activist, she led a crowd in a chant of “Viva, viva Intifada,” a call for violent uprising against the Jewish state.
Assi’s organization represents Students for Justice in Palestine, an anti-Israel student group that projected the pro-Hamas statement “Glory to our martyrs” on buildings at George Washington University. Palestine Legal is representing the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter at the University of Florida, which was kicked off campus for expressing solidarity with Hamas in its “Day of Resistance Toolkit.”

The CIA was created after World War II to prevent another Pearl Harbor attack, writes Charles S. Faddis, a former CIA operations officer and Middle East station chief. Faddis believes the agency “no longer works,” an easy case to make but not exactly news.
Al Qaeda was well known but “we had not a single source inside that organization capable of warning us of the 9/11 attacks that would kill almost 3,000 Americans.” It took a decade to take out bin Laden, and one doubts it went down as portrayed in Zero Dark Thirty.
As with 9/11 “we received no warning prior to the outbreak of the pandemic,” and the CIA could “apparently provide no useful information regarding the origins of the disease,” still true years later. The CIA has “no sources inside China’s top bio lab,” which is probably true of most, if not all, of China. Faddis blames bureaucratization and politicization but may underestimate the problem in both cases.

On January 6, 2021, former Proud Boys’ Chairman Enrique Tarrio didn’t punch any Capitol police officers, he never “surged” forward to overwhelm Capitol defenses, he never smashed any Capitol windows or destroyed any Capitol fences, he never threw anything at Capitol police, and he never set foot in the Capitol. He never did any of those things because on January 6, 2021, Enrique Tarrio was in Baltimore, Maryland.
You might be surprised to learn this crucial fact considering that the Justice Department indicted Tarrio and several co-conspirators for seditious conspiracy, among other charges, claiming they “very nearly succeeded in provoking a constitutional crisis.” Two years later, following a four-month trial, a Washington D.C. jury convicted Tarrio and the Proud Boys of most of the counts. In August 2023, DOJ argued that Tarrio should be imprisoned for 33 years; the court sentenced him to only 22.

Although Republican senators have for months muttered their disapproval of Tuberville’s strategy of holding high-level military promotions until the Defense Department reverses its policy, this skirmish was the first time his GOP colleagues had openly rebelled against him.
It won’t be the last. These same senators—and others—are plotting with Democrats to change the rules governing the Senate to undermine Tuberville and process the promotions. Watch for news of that in the days to come.
Why would Senate Republicans fight against one of their own, especially on something as fundamental as the fight to defend the unborn? Despite their espoused principles and campaign promises, life is simply not the top priority of many elected Republicans—at least, not like it is for their voters.

Taxpayers will be able to submit all sorts of tax documents and other communications to the IRS digitally months earlier than originally planned under a new timetable for paperless taxpayer communications announced Tuesday by Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
“The impact will be significant and far-reaching,” Yellen says in a speech prepared for delivery at IRS headquarters in Washington, “and we’ll speed up processing times for the system as a whole.”
The IRS has endured decades of underfunding and been overloaded with paper documents that prevented the agency from processing tax forms at a faster pace. Yellen’s speech is intended to signal that the infusion of cash for the IRS over 10 years included in the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act is working.

Do you find it a little disturbing that the combat capability of our aircraft carriers has not improved since WWII and, in fact, the only really important characteristic, air wing size, has markedly decreased?
Further, when factoring in the construction cost,
Early Essex $40M ($750M in 2023) [2]
Late Essex $78M ($1.33B in 2023) [2]
Ford $16B+
the Ford represents a staggering decrease in combat value for the dollar.
It’s clear that our carriers have become less combat effective over time. I know that some of the less enlightened among you will attempt to say that a Ford can strike from a longer distance and with more precise, devastating weapons. Well, first, that’s a reflection of the air wing, not the carrier and, second, that’s an absurd comparison. The proper way to compare between WWII and today is to do so relative to the time period and the threats that existed during that period.
