When inhaled, menthol produces a cooling sensation in the throat, reducing the harsh taste of cigarettes and the irritation of nicotine. The vast majority of Black smokers — 85 percent — use menthol cigarettes. And Black men and women are much less likely than white Americans to be diagnosed with lung cancer at an earlier, potentially more treatable stage. Black men have the highest lung cancer death rate in the country.
“When you combine high rates of smoking with systematic racism in health care systems, you have a tremendous health disparity,” said Erika Sward, national assistant vice president for advocacy at the American Lung Association. Both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health recently announced plans to address structural racism in health care.
Black people, black men especially, are too stupid to take care of their health properly, so the government has to do it for them. I’m waiting for the FDA to declare it illegal for black people to own or possess guns.

When I first encountered critical race theory (CRT) in the early 1980s, I considered it an interesting, albeit flawed, part of a larger interesting but flawed academic movement — critical legal studies. Nowadays, however, I consider CRT to be superstructure built to cover the fact that Blacks, to a disproportionate degree, have not done what it takes to succeed in a society where barriers to their advancement have largely been removed (and where Blacks sometimes are treated more favorably than Whites due to their skin color).
CRT has produced a war on standards — standards like grades, test scores, rules of school conduct, criminal laws — that are supported by common sense and vast experience, and that wouldn’t be questioned if Blacks were meeting them to the same degree as Whites and Asian-Americans. That war is destructive. America can’t be a great country if it discards important, time-tested standards. I doubt it can even be a well-functioning society.

Sometimes, the big media monopolies employ prudent discretion when the latest Hate YT cause célèbre sweeps social media. For example, I know it seems like ten years ago by now, but can you remember back a week or when the most hated white man in America was drill Sgt. Jonathan Pentland, who was videoed telling Deandre Williams to leave his neighborhood? It then turned out that Williams was a dangerous lunatic whose parents immediately had confined to a psychiatric facility. Well, showing an impressive nose for a story that everybody else was playing big but just didn’t smell right, the New York Times ignored the case entirely. It hasn’t mentioned anybody named “Pentland” since 2016.

As I may have mentioned once or twice over the decades going back to the previous millennium, American discourse is increasingly dominated by childish good guys vs. bad guys reasoning, with determining which is which being being decided by intersectional Pokemon points.
Since the MSM knows that the white male Columbus cop who saved at least one black girl’s life with his grace under pressure on Tuesday by shooting the attacker just before she stabbed the girl in pink is the Bad Guy, all the facts about him are proof of his innate badness.

Last night in a tavern in Kenosha, WI, three men were murdered and three more (and possibly a fourth) were wounded.
As you’ll recall, Sailer’s Law of Mass Shootings (four or more casualties) says that if there are more wounded than dead, then the shooter was probably black, but in the rarer cases where there are more dead than wounded, the shooter was probably nonblack. But what do you do when there are as many dead as wounded?
One tiebreaker is whether the mass shooting’s setting involved fun (probably black) vs. not fun such as school, church, or work (probably nonblack). This was a bar, so the tiebreaker would point toward a black shooter with above average aim.

When racist graffiti appeared on the walls of a dormitory at Albion College in Michigan, the college heads and student body were outraged. The graffiti, which included racial slurs, anti-Semitic remarks and multiple references to the Ku Klux Klan, prompted college officials to put forward a $1,000 bounty for anyone with information as to the perpetrator. Albion College President Mathew Johnson warned that ‘if they are Albion College students, they will also immediately be subject to the student conduct process — including the potential for suspension or expulsion’. Criminal charges would follow.
…
Then, the police investigation found that the perpetrator of the crime had in fact been a 21-year-old black student. The college responded by removing him from campus while they conducted a full investigation as part of the student judicial process.
Rather than expressing relief that white supremacists hadn’t in fact been running amok on campus — the graffiti included the phrases ‘KKK’, ‘KKK White Power’, and ‘Albion is racist we do exist KKK’ — college officials simply doubled down on their assertions, declaring that the issue of racism at the school extended beyond the graffiti incident: ‘We know the acts of racism that have occurred this week are not about one particular person or one particular incident…we know that there is a significant history of racial pain and trauma on campus and we are taking action to repair our community.’

The family of a 20-year-old Minnesota man told a crowd that he was shot by police Sunday before getting back into his car and driving away, then crashing the vehicle several blocks away. The family of Daunte Wright said he was later pronounced dead.
…
According to a statement from Brooklyn Center Police, officers stopped an individual shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday after determining the driver had an outstanding warrant. Police said when they tried to arrest the driver, the driver reentered the vehicle and drove away. An officer fired at the vehicle, striking the driver. Police said the vehicle traveled several blocks before striking another vehicle.
…
Public mourners included Wright’s family and friends who gathered, wept and consoled each other alongside protesters who carried “Black Lives Matter” flags, jumped atop police cars, confronted officers and walked peacefully in columns with their hands held up. On one street, written in multi-colored chalk: “Justice for Duante Wright.”

Demands by parents to remove books from library shelves addressing racism soared in the US in 2020, the American Library Association has revealed.
An annual list that is regularly dominated by titles covering LGBTQ+ issues, the ALA’s Top 10 most challenged books contains a number of anti-racism titles for the first time in 2020. Although the list was topped for the third year running by Alex Gino’s George, the story of a fourth-grade transgender girl, Ibram X Kendi and Jason Reynolds’ Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You, a history of racism for children and teens, was the year’s second most challenged title. In their complaints, parents claimed that Stamped contained “selective storytelling incidents” and “does not encompass racism against all people”, said the ALA.
In response, Kendi, a historian of race, said that he was proud of the work he and Reynolds had done on the book, and “not at all surprised” to hear it made the Top 10.

Thursday’s episode of A Million Little Things was so heavy-handed in pushing the latest cause-de-jour (“Stop APPI Hate”) that the entire episode played out more like one giant PSA on a supposed “epidemic” of hate and violence towards Asian Americans, with whites and Trump to blame, of course, despite strong evidence to the contrary.

Privilege, like cocaine, is a white drug. It’s important not to be caught in possession of it. If you’re caught using it, you may be ordered to check your privilege, and recognise that your views are nothing more than a defence of your position in the racial hierarchy in which you secretly believe.
The purest form is white privilege, which is the refined product of systemic racism. According to the American feminist Peggy McIntosh, white people carry racial privilege in an invisible knapsack. McIntosh is white. So is Robin DiAngelo, who coined the term white fragility in 2011 and has made a fortune as a race awareness consultant for corporations wishing to insure themselves against discrimination suits from disgruntled employees.

What is the over/under on when the press stops blaming every damn thing that goes wrong on Trump? The coronavirus did, in fact, originate in China, likely in a Chinese laboratory. Regardless, that makes it a Chinese virus by normal standards of nomenclature. If we are looking for a scapegoat, a better candidate is Harvard University, which takes the position that Asian-Americans–not the Chinese Communist Party–are inferior to all others in personal qualities like “leadership.”

President Joe Biden and other Democrats, without offering evidence, equate Georgia’s new election law with the Jim Crow era, while many media outlets obligingly repeat Democratic talking points about it.
